Chapter 4 Telling Michelangelo
Kala was in shock after finding out the truth. "I'm actually pregnant I'm going to be a mom and Michelangelo is going to be a dad. Is this for real?" Kala said to Mona who was just as surprised as Kala. "If you really want to know the truth I'll make an appointment for you to see my doctor who helped me deliver my son when I went to visit my cousin in prison" Mona offered. Kala accepted Mona's offer as she recalled the story of what happened on Christmas Eve when Mona went into labor while visiting her cousin Mindy. Mona called her doctor and spoke with her for a while. When Mona hung up the phone she said, "Doctor Rosa had a cancelation so she can see you right now." Kala was happy to hear that Mona's doctor could see her at the last minute. The two of them went to the clinic that Doctor Rosa opened up after the holidays.
Doctor Rosa greeted Mona and Kala when they arrived. "Doctor Rosa, thank you for seeing me on such short notice. I need to know for sure if I'm pregnant" Kala told the doctor. "It's no problem how let's examine you shall we?" said Doctor Rosa as she gave Kala a check up and confirmed that Kala is indeed pregnant. "Let's see you're three weeks pregnant and since it's August the baby will be born sometime in the spring." Kala couldn't believe she was actually pregnant. How am I going to tell Michelangelo and how will he react?!" questioned Kala as she had a bunch of thoughts racing through her head. Mona saw how Kala was freaking out. She took Kala by the hand and comforted her as she said, "It's going to be ok Kala. I was freaking out as well when I found out I was pregnant with my son but Raphael and I got through it together and he is such an amazing dad and husband. Besides, as Michelangelo would most likely say, "we're gonna have a little dude or dudette!" Kala smiled and believed Mona was right as she thanked her friend for calming her down. Doctor Rosa arranged an appointment for Kala to come again to check on the progress of her baby.
Mona and Kala left the doctor's office together and as they were heading back to Kala Michelangelo's place when Kala thought of an idea of how to tell Michelangelo about her being pregnant she put her plan into action as soon as she got home. Kala set up what she was going to do before Michelangelo arrived home. "Hey dudette did you enjoy your breakfast that I made for you?" Michelangelo asked as he greeted his wife. You better believe I did and I want to tell you something that I found out today in unique ways so look around the apartment and tell me what you see and what I want to tell you" answered Kala as Michelangelo looked around the apartment. First Michelangelo looked in the kitchen and opened up the toaster oven and saw a sandwich bun in the oven but he didn't get it. Then he saw a plate of peas that were in pods but wasn't too sure what it meant. It wasn't until he saw a toy kangaroo with a baby in the pouch. "Michelangelo do you understand what all of these mean?" Kala asked her husband and Michelangelo replied, "Well there is a bun in the oven, peas in a pod and a baby kangaroo which is called a Joey in the mother kangaroo's pouch…" A few seconds later Michelangelo recalled how Master Splinter gave him and the others the talk when they were children and how different terms meant the same thing when it came to pregnancy.
Michelangelo walked up to Kala with happy tears in his eyes and said, "Are you really?" With a smile on her face Kala took Michelangelo's hand and placed it on her stomach as she told him, "Yes I am you're going to be a daddy." Michelangelo jumped for joy and said, "This is awesome! I can't wait until we tell everyone and to think I almost thought you were trying to tell me that a kangaroo and her baby were coming over to make toasted buns and peas." Kala couldn't help but laugh at what Michelangelo just said. Later on Kala and Michelangelo went to the lair to tell their friends and family the good news which everyone was very happy for them and couldn't wait until the arrival of Kala and Michaelangelo's baby.
Author's Note: What's up people who love fanfiction. I know it's been a while since I last updated this story. I've been pretty busy working, keeping safe from the pandemic which I hope all of you have been doing as well and of course celebrating the holidays which I hope everyone had a happy and safe Christmas and New Year's. I plan on updating this story more often whenever I'm not crazy busy. I enjoy writing fanfiction as much as my fans and followers love reading what I write. Please stay tune for my next update.
