Chapter 5 Baby Prepping
After Michelangelo and Kala told their Earth family about Kala's pregnancy Kala called her parents. "Hi Mom and Dad Michelangelo and I have something to tell you," Kala told her parents. Doppler and Sky wondered what their daughter and son in law wanted to tell them. "You're going to be grandparents!" the happy soon to be parents said together. "Our baby is having a baby!" Doppler and Sky exclaimed excitedly. "Do you know what the gender of the baby is? When is the baby due? Are you experiencing any morning sickness or cravings?" Kala laughed and told her parents to calm down as she answered all of their questions. "No Mom and Dad I'm not experiencing any cravings or morning sickness at least not yet, Michelangelo and I don't know the gender of our baby because we just found out ourselves and the baby is due in the spring."
Sky and Doppler were so happy to hear about Kala and Michelangelo becoming parents. "Sweetie, if you and Michelangelo need anything let us know" Doppler offered. "Thanks Dad, I'll let you know and we appreciate it," Kala told her father. "Since you're having a baby you do realize your father and I are going to most likely spoil your son or daughter right?" Sky laughed as Kala and Michelangelo smiled and were ok with that since they knew it's normal for grandparents to spoil their grandbabies. After informing Doppler and Sky about Kala's pregnancy, Michelangelo and Kala started to prepare their home for the baby. Michelangelo didn't want Kala to exhaust herself so he took such great care of Kala and went with his wife to her doctor's appointments. Raphael and Mona loaned Michelangelo and Kala some baby books including a book of baby names which Kala and Michelangelo read together. "All of these names are nice but I'm not sure which names I like the best. We don't even know if our baby is going to be a boy or a girl" Kala pointed out. "You make a good point my love so about this how about we pick a name depending on the gender" suggested Michelangelo. Kala thought it was a good idea and they went through the book of baby names again and picked out names they liked. "Ok so it's settled if our baby is a girl we'll name her Nova and if it's a boy I wouldn't mind naming our baby after you" said Kala.
Michelangelo smiled and said, "That would be wonderful to have a baby named after me but to me it doesn't matter because the most important thing is our little one is born into this world and into a big loving family happy and healthy." Kala kissed Michelangelo for saying that as they got the baby's room ready. "Michelangelo do you think we should find out the gender of our child?" asked Kala. "I don't know. As great as it would be to know what we're having, maybe it would be more fun to keep it a surprise until our baby is born unless you think we should have a gender revealing party?" Michelangelo suggested. Kala liked the idea and promised to keep that in mind as the parents to be finished up the nursery.
