Finally getting another chapter out, hope you enjoy it.

Izuku continued to change his training in order to complete it with much better results than what he would have gotten before. Even at the cost of creeping out his all classmates (and a few teachers).

He's worked himself to the absolute bone, in his mind he couldn't just settle with what was given. He had already spent too much time being a quirkless weakling, he felt very grateful towards All Might for giving him a chance to be stronger. However Izuku knew that he can't afford to waste his hero's time, only for him to end up failing for lack of training. He had to do whatever it took to show All Might that he wasn't wrong for choosing him, that's the least he could offer. Over those months Izuku was slowly making progress as All Might observed him.

Although All Might was beginning to notice Midoriya's shift in progress since they started. Being the one who made his training regimen, it would be obvious for him to see if he was staying on schedule. Truth be told he had hope that his successor would make it into UA, especially seeing his drive make it as a hero. However he wasn't sure if he had strength to complete his training. That was his biggest worry, All Might can't give him One for all unprepared. He hoped that Midoriya wouldn't lose hope on becoming a hero if he didn't finish on time.

At first Midoriya was keeping up well with his training, they didn't have the best start with Midoriya easily getting nauseous and falling behind. However All Might was surprised to see his successor drive to not give up. Soon Midoriya was able to quickly keep up and even exceed his expectations by pushing past his limits everytime he trains. He was beginning to believe there was a chance clean enough to give him One for all. For the next few months things were going well until Midoriya began to slow back down to where he started.

Izuku was currently carrying a piece of trash over his shoulder, trying to keep up with All Might. For the past seven months Izuku did more than just push past his limits, with only his will to succeed keeping him going. At this point those past seven months were begging to catch up with him and he ended up falling forward, making All Might stop.

"Hey, hey, what's wrong?" All Might said looking back. "There are only three months left!" Izuku couldn't respond, being too tired to even look at his mentor. "The 'Aim to Pass: American Dream Plan' was adjusted with your body in mind, to make sure you'd make it in time for the entrance exam." All Might said looking down towards Midoriya. All Might continued, "Overdoing it will have the opposite effect!" he said, scolding Midoriya for not following his plan. "Don't you want to get in?" All Might said half yelling.

Izuku tried moving his arms, struggling to pull himself up, "I have to work a lot more than other people…" Izuku said, tears forming in his eyes using all his energy to look at his mentor, "I want to be like you. I want to become the greatest hero." Izuku Finally looking at All Might with a determined look. "I don't just want to get in," Izuku suddenly found new strength in his legs making get up. " I want to excel, to prove I can be a true hero!" Izuku exclaimed passionately, doing his best to stand proudly.

Before Izuku could fall, he was quickly caught by All Might, "You go-getter fanboy!" All Might said in his hero form, grabbing him by his jacket. "I'll have to alter your training to best fit your body's current condition." All Might said. "Can you walk on your own?" he asked. "Y-yes I can, I can keep moving." Izuku as he tried to walk. "Nope! We'll finish up here and you go get some rest for the day. Don't worry you've earned young Midoriya." All Might reassuring him along with a hand on his shoulder.

As they both walked, unknown to either of them, a tall figure stood behind Izuku, the figure had very light green skin, large pointy ears, a bright red mohawk, green eyes, a deep blue scarf and a golden headband. He also held a sword and a green shield with three golden triangles on it. The figure then floated towards Izuku, quickly fading into his body. Izuku felt an odd sensation throughout his body, he looked back to see nothing behind him. "Huh you alright young Midoriya?" All Might asked. "Oh yes I'm fine…" Izuku answered.

Izuku was able to continue his new training with relative ease since he first began. He also continued to push himself, although not as much as before, it was enough to continuously remind All Might of his determination and passion for his dream. All Might couldn't help but feel proud of his student, everyday he always told himself how glad he was to find such a worthy successor.

Timeskip: Day of the exams

It was the day of the exam and All Might was making his way towards the beach, however he stopped when he heard screaming. He quickly ran to see what was happening, his eyes widened seeing it was his student on top of a massive pile of garbage.

Izuku got on top of the pile of trash to make one final inspection only to see nothing left aside the sand between him and the ocean. He finally did it, he finally knew what it was like to feel pride in what he's accomplished. The sun was beginning to rise along with his sense of pride. He looked back to his struggles both before and during his training only becoming more excited for his entrance exams today. Taking one deep breath he screamed at the top of his lungs, he felt a familiar weird sensation throughout his body along with his scream was louder than expected, however he ignored it this time. For now he wants to let the world know he was ready for any challenge.

His fatigue however got the better of him so he fell, only for All Might to catch him. All Might proceeded to praise Izuku for his hard work, Izuku also began to doubt himself, believing he didn't deserve to be this blessed.

"Take this to heart. This is power that you earned because of your own effort." All Might said, "Now, Eat This." "Huh…"

Timeskip: end of the day

Izuku had just finished eating his dinner, about to enter his room to sleep, "Izuku, dear I'm going to stop by the store, do you need anything?" Izuku heard his mother from the kitchen, "No thanks I'll be fine." Izuku answered. "Okay goodnight sweetie." "Goodnight mom." Izuku said, closing the door behind him.

Izuku had a very long day, he remained hopeful about the exams after just gaining All Might's power. Heck he was starting to let himself think the exams won't be so bad when a cute with a gravity quirk helped him from falling. If he wanted, he could have gone home already feeling accomplished after successfully talking to a girl that didn't want anything from him. (Didn't actually talk but close enough).

He had an easy enough time with the written portion of the exams, he had to admit he was a little worried about not studying enough for the written portion since cleaning the beach took up a large part of his time. Izuku was even able to see one of his favorite heroes, Present Mic in person, giving the rules for the practical exams. (He still regrets not asking for an autograph after the exams).

Although it wasn't until the practicals started things got more difficult with the really serious guy accusing him of trying to throw off the other applicants. Things only got worse when he was briefly reminded of his middle school when overhearing others saying he's one less person to worry about. 'Even if I pass the exams, will things be any different?' Izuku couldn't help but think at that moment.

At the end of the practicals he finally truly understood All Might's warning about him still not being a perfect vessel for One for all. Breaking his arm and legs was only the second worse feeling that day, realizing he had no more time left was far worse. Now, at least to Izuku, he has wasted all those months, just so he can fail and waste All Mights time. He even made his mom worry over him by being in such a bad mood that she offered to take time off work to be there for him. Izuku tried his best to reassure her but he had the feeling that she was still worried. He was in such a bad mood he didn't notice he left his phone on the table when walking towards his room.

"Do I even need to wait for my results to come in? I already know I failed." Izuku said to himself, in a very depressed tone, tears also threatening to fall. "How could I be a hero…?"

"I know how you feel, but you know what they say, 'when you fall off that horse, you get right back and you eat that horse.'" Izuku nodded hearing a voice. "Yeah I guess you're right, but.." Izuku paused thinking, 'wait mom just left…' he turned around seeing an upside down floating woman he didn't recognize. The woman was wearing a black blouse, white pants, a yellow bracelet and necklace, and a pair of black boots.

"AAAAHHH!" Izuku screamed, falling backwards and thought a villain broke into his house. "Aahhh! Woah kid calm down! You can't just go around screaming at people you've never met.." the woman paused for a moment, "WAIT YOU CAN SEE ME?!" The mysterious woman asked. "wha-I-I w-who are you? Why are you in my house?" Izuku asked, scared of this stranger.

"Now hold on! This was my house way before you came in, so if anything you broke in here!" The woman retorted. "Huh what are you talking about?" Izuku asked, as he got back up. "What I'm talking about is that I'm sick and tired of you random people just coming in here after I died and just do whatever you want with my house, without my permission no less. Yet somehow you're not the worst family that moved in." The woman was venting her frustrations. All the meanwhile Izuku's brain was rebooting from the information he just received.

"D-died?" Izuku managed to murmure, staring into space. "Hello, earth to intruder, you okay?" the woman said, waving her hand in front of his face. When that didn't work, "Hmmm," the woman then proceeded to test something out. "Oww!" Izuku jumped as he felt a pinch on his arm. "Huh, neat."

"Well anyway to answer your questions seriously, my name is Nana Shimura, I'm a ghost full time, and this used to be my room." she answered.

There were far more questions that Izuku had, he was muttering them all with the ghost just standing there. "I can't even understand you." Shimura said with a sweat drop. However they were pulled out of their thoughts when they heard the front door open. It was Inko coming back forgetting something, "Izuku do you know where I left my phone? I can't find it." Inko said. "Oh no, here I'll call it for you." Izuku said, reaching for his phone. "It's over here on the table, I'll hand it to you." Inko said, making her way towards her son's room. Izuku was panicking, realizing that the ghost in front of him won't have enough time to hide and her mother ends up seeing a stranger in his room. Izuku whispered "Shimura you need to-" Izuku was interrupted when the door opened

"Here you go sweetie." Inko said with a smile, walking towards Izuku handing him his phone. Shimura floated to the side of them after Inko's hand went through Shimura. "Whoa that felt weird." Shimura said. Izuku heasently accepted his phone, then proceeded to call his mother. They heard the phone coming from the purse Inko was carrying. "Oh it was here the whole time, silly me." Inko was clearly embarrassed from the whole situation. "I'll let you go to sleep, I'm sorry for bothering you honey. Goodnight Izuku." Izuku hesitantly waved goodbye, "G-goodnight mom." Inko then left this time making sure she had everything.

Izuku was only even more confused, apparently being the only one to see Shimura. "Well I'll be damned, looks like you're the only who can see me." Shimura said, looking a little surprised herself.

Finally Izuku was able to properly ask one question, "A-are you some kind of vengeful spirit?" Shimura looked at then got a devilish smirk, "Yes I'm here to haunt you for living here and will continue to haunt you until you leave." she said in a deep voice, her eyes glowing red, hand up to seem scarier. "Ahhh!" Izuku screamed again, afraid more than ever.

"Pffft, AH HA HA HA! you should see your face, it's priceless!" she said clutching her stomach laughing. "Seriously though, I have no idea why can see me. Maybe it's some kind of unfinished business stuff." Shimura said. "Unfinished business, does that have anything to do with me? Since I'm the only one who can see you." Izuku questioned. Shimura only shrugged her shoulders, "Who knows, maybe it does, I'm not too sure myself." Shimura told Izuku. "Well do you know what kind of business you haven't finished before you died?" Shimura put her hands on Izuku, she was looking down with her hair covering her eyes. "I'm gonna be honest here... I have absolutely no idea!" Shimura said, looking at Izuku with a big goofy smile.

Izuku only deadpan, 'just who is this person?' Izuku questioned himself. "Hey I said my name already, you need me to remind you?" Shimura said, looking at Izuku. "Huh o-oh, I said that out loud didn't I?" Izuku asked her. "Yea, you don't do that a lot do you?" Shimura questioned. "Yes, sorry it's a weird habit of mine." Izuku answered, while scratching the back of his head. "Well I guess I gotta get used to that. Especially since we are stuck with each other until I move on to the afterlife." Shimura said, while rubbing her chine. "Uh huh uh huh...wait what?" Izuku looked at her surprised.

"Aww come on, don't look at me like that, that's the only logical thing to do since you're the only one who I could interact with." Shimura said. "W-well I guess that makes sense, b-but I don't even know how I could help you." Izuku said, looking down. "Well...you don't have to worry about that, I'm not in any kind hurry really, I'm actually more interested in you really." Shimura said, "You said something about being a hero right, well I think you seem like someone with potential. Also you look like you have a lot of admiration." Shimura said, looking around at all the hero merchandise.

Izuku blushed realizing someone was in his room, dead or not. It was still embarrassing knowing someone was seeing all his All Might Merchandise. "Seriously what is all this?" Shimura questioned trying to hold in her laugh. "W-well I just really look up to him." Izuku said, covering his red face. "Well I get it, I actually had a student who wanted to be a hero himself." Shimura said as she floated towards the window to look outside. "Really what was their name?" Izuku asked. "Oh well to be honest I don't know. When I first took him under my wing, he was no better than a villain. I saw a lot of potential in him, for someone so young. However the world treated him unfairly because of his quirk." Izuku looked at her, understanding what it was like to be treated differently over something you can't control.

"I managed to convince him to be a hero but I wasn't alive long enough to see him achieve his dream." Shimura looked down with a single tear falling, fortunately Izuku noticed this. "He didn't even trust me enough to give me his real name." Shimura finished while wiping away her tears.

Izuku didn't know what to think, he wasn't good at any type of social situation, but he couldn't leave her like this but what could he say. "Oh sorry, I guess I got lost in thought. You don't need to worry about me, I know he's just fine." Shimura said floating towards Izuku. "But there has to be something I could do to help...if knowing where your student is could help you move on then I have to at least help." Izuku said, determined. "Geez your one weird kid, this whole situation is nuts but hell if we're stuck with each other then so be it. Who knows it could be fun." Shimura said excitedly.

Nana then raised her hand, "By the way I never got your name." Izuku hesitantly raised his hand, "Oh I'm sorry. My name's Izuku Midoriya, it's a pleasure to meet you." Izuku said, shaking her hand. "Midoriya huh, well hopefully we can get to know each other while I'm here." Nana said while floating away. " huh where are you going? didn't you say you used to live here?" Izuku questioned. "Yea but I can't be cooped up here all night, I'm gonna head outside for a while." However before Nana left, "Oh by any chance, you don't happen to own a sword? Do you?" Nana asked. Izuku looked at her curiously, "Uhh no, why?" Nana held in a laugh, "Because you look like the type of nerd to get a sword."

"Huh but I wouldn't just get a sword for no reason!" Izuku tried to defend himself. Although truthfully he did, at one point, want to get one that resembled an old heros sword from a long time ago. "Alright well I'll leave ya alone. I can tell I meant to do great things." Nana said as she disappeared. Izuku was left to process not only what she said but also their whole conversation. Why did he start having a weird feeling about her?

Sorry for the really short chapter but I hope you guys liked and I'll see you next chapter. Also expect the next chapter to take a little longer because I'm considering at least starting another story (probably another My hero academia one, maybe, who knows?).
