Chapter 5

Bon and his friends where waiting in line to get their lunch. They had just finished most of their normal half of school classes with only having two more before they had to go and do their Cram School class. Today will be the first day they get to be in Yukio's class since he was gone when school started. After getting to know the Exorcist yesterday everyone thought he was a petty cool guy but they couldn't wait to see what he was like as a teacher. They could already tell by the way he talked that he was a by-the-books guy but he knew how to relax and have fun with everyone.

After Bon and Yukio had told everyone what Rin had told them, with Izumo backing up his Familiars, and sent Shima to get said cat; everyone just sat around the table and talked as they waited for dinner time. Shiemi couldn't stay long as she had she told her mother she would be gone for a few minutes and would be back in time for dinner. Rin seemed to take a bit of a liking to Yukio and all throughout dinner he kept trying to steal something off his plate when he wasn't looking or try and take his glasses when he was talking. Yukio found the demon cat's little games not very fun himself and when he had had enough he told Bon to call off his cat or classwork tomorrow would be hell.

Bon let out a sigh as the events of today played in his head. Before leaving the dorms Mr. Pheles had come by to drop off a little gift for Rin. It was a special collar the had the Exorcist crest hanging from it as the tag. On the back of it he had engraved, "Familiar: Rin – Owner: Ryuji Suguro". All teachers at the school would know that Rin was an Exorcist Familiar when he wore the collar and if anyone asked why he was allowed to have. what others thought was a normal cat in class; they were to take it up with the Principal who was the only person able to allow an animal on school grounds. A lot of his classmates did ask their teachers why Bon was allowed to have a cat with him. This started to give him a headache because even though they would get the same answer they kept asking in hopes of getting Bon in trouble.

There was one girl in his last class that, after she was once again given the same answer as all the other teachers were giving out, tried to say that she had a cat allergy. Shima then chimed in and said that Rin was a special breed of cat that doesn't effect people with allergies and that is why she had not once sneezed the whole day. Since she was sitting somewhere behind him, Bon couldn't see the girl's face turn red with a mix of anger and embarrassment, but Rin gave a small catty chuckle as he overheard the teacher give her detention for trying to lie. Bon had flicked him in the ear for it and told him to keep quiet. Bon just had a small hope that no one would ask the same dumb question for the rest of the day.

Finally reaching the end of the lunch line, Bon and his friends started to grab the food they wanted and headed off to the check out. Rin was laying along his shoulders happily swaying his tail back and forth.

"Hey Rin!", Shima called from behind them. "Why don't you head outside for us and see if you can find a nice shady tree."

"Sure! But it will cost you some of your dessert!" Rin haggled as he got up and then jumped off of Bon.

"Wait what!?", Shima shouted after the cat had quickly ran off with a big grin on his face. "Booonnn! Your not just going to let him try and steal my dessert are you?" Shima complained/begged.

"Be lucky he was nice and only asked for some of it and not all or half of it Shima." Konekomaru told him as he softly did a little laugh.

"Hmmm, that sound like a good idea. So how about it Shima, you going to let Rin have a little of your dessert or should I take a big half of it as payment for letting you use my Familiar as your runner?" Bon asked as he looked over his shoulder at the pink haired boy as he payed for his food.

"I'll stick with the cat's payment", Shima pouted.

"A good choice lazy monk", A voice behind them said.

Shima emitted a little shriek as he jumped and turned around to see Izumo standing behind them.

"Hey there Izumo," Konekomaru greeted her with a small nod to her. "I didn't notice you behind us."

"I wasn't for a while. Some of the people in front of us were taking too long to pick what they wanted so we just grabbed our food and walked past them." She told them with a roll of the eye. Paku popped her head out from behind Izumo and gave the boy a smile as her greeting.

"Would you girls like to come eat with us? It would be quite boring just eating with a bunch of boys. You two would sure be a lovely light of sunshine if you joined us." Shima flirted.

Both Bon and Izumo rolled their eyes at the pink boy, Konekomaru sweat dropped and Paku just gave a little laugh. Not waiting for Shima, Bon started walking outside to go find his cat with Konekomaru right next to him. When he was at the door that lead outside they could hear Shima running over to them calling for them to wait up. As soon as they were outside, Bon could feel that something was wrong. Looking around he tried to see what it was that was bugging him.

"Bon, look!" Konekomaru shouted as he pointed over at one of the trees that was in the courtyard.

Rin was up really high in a tree growling and hissing at a girl that was slowly trying to climb up to him while the girl's two friends were at the bottom cheering her on. Bon noticed that one of the girls at the bottom of the tree was that lying bitch from earlier. He let out an angry growl of his own as he started to march over to them. He could hear his friends behind him and Shima saying that this was going to be bad.

"HEY!", Bon yelled at them as he got closer. "THE HELL YOU THINK YOUR DOING!"

"I saw your cat stuck up in the tree so I got my friend to go help him down. What's it look like?" The liar girl said as she put her hand on her hips and gave him a dirty look. As she did that something glinted in her hand that caught Bon's eye as he saw Rin's collar in one of her hand.

"Oh yeah? Then why do you have his collar in your hand?" Bon glared right back at her.

"It fell off him when it got stuck on one of the branches and fell down. We had just picked it up." The other girl that stood next to the liar girl said back.

"Must have been one strong branch then", Shima said as he cocked an eyebrow at them.

"Indeed, it was a bitch of a branch that liked to grab cats playing in the grass and then pull them high in the air." A new voice joined them. "The cat gave the branch a nice scratch on its bark too."

Bon then noticed that there was a few scratches on the liar's hand that was holding Rin's collar. Rin must've done that when he was trying to get away.

The Exorcist in training turned to look at the newcomer and saw that quite a few people had joined around to see what was going on. Bon could see that the liar girl and her friend were getting red in the face. The new person that joined them was a guy that had sliver dyed hair and three piercings. Two were above his eyebrows and the last one was on his right side under his bottom lip. He had a bored look on his face as he looked over at the girls as he drank some soda, but Bon thought he saw some anger in his eyes as while.

"I saw this 'branch' sneak up on your cat and grab him by the collar. Said it was the cat and it owner's fault that she got in trouble. Then she said she was going to hide the cat to teach the owner a lesson to think he was better then her. Little kitty cat didn't like the sound of that and started to really kick and scratch the shit out of her until he slipped out of his collar. As soon as his little feet hit the ground he ran up the tree. He only went up as high as he is 'cause he saw the bitch branch sent her lackey to go get him down."

Bon growled again and asked Shima to hold his lunch for him. He walked over to the girls and when he was right in front of her he reached down and took his Familiar's collar out of her hand. "Stop being a little brat that is throwing a tantrum because she didn't get what she wanted. What are you a 4th grader in grade school? Grow up." Bon just glared down at her before turning and walking away from her. As he headed back to his friends he lifted one of his hands to his mouth and let out a sharp whistle.

Rin's ears turned to the sound and saw his master. He got up from his attack pose against the tree and ran along the branch. When he reach the end he jumped off of it as he kept his eyes on his master. He could hear other people gasp when they saw him jump but he paid them no mind as he landed gracefully on his master's shoulders and then laid down long them. He rubbed his head against his master's as his master softly rubbed along his neck to sooth away any pain which made him start to purr.

Bon took his lunch back from Shima and then turned to look over at the silver haired kid. "Thanks for telling me what happened", Bon nodded to him.

"No problem, anything to help out a baby Exorcist's Familiar", He nodded back. "Name is Reiji Shiratori and I'll be joining you guys in your 'special' classes today." Once he was done talking a Coal Tar popped up from behind him. Though this Coal Tar was different from the others he had seen before. This one was the size of a soft ball and had bright silver eyes that shined with intelligence. "I'll be seeing you guys later." Reiji turned and started to walk away, giving them a little wave. The Coal Tar looked at all of them before staring hard at Bon who was still petting Rin who had fallen asleep at this point. He gave the two-toned boy a nod as if it found something in the boy it liked before turning and flying after what they assumed was the little demon's master.

"While that was intersting and weird at the same time. Come on guys, let's go and eat before lunch ends." Shima said as he started to lead the group over to another tree away from the area.

Bon nodded in agreement and started to follow his friends. 'Today indeed has been weird.'

~(After normal school in Cram School)~

"Master I heard the other teachers saying that Familiar class will be canceled today because we're getting a new teacher. Maybe we'll get a better teacher than that one eyed jerk." Rin purred as all of the students of the Cram School were heading to their next class; which would be Yukio's class.

A couple of students laughed at Rin's comment which made the cat puff up with pride and joy. Meanwhile, Bon's mind was on that kid Reiji Shiratori. They already had a few classes and the boy and his Coal Tar still hadn't turned up. Their teachers hadn't said anything about him either. Something weird was up with that kid that Bon just couldn't seem to grasp. As the group turned the corner he heard Shiemi say, "Hey, who is that standing outside the classroom?"

Bon looked over and saw it was the new kid; he had finally showed himself.

"Yo there everyone", He called out as he gave them a lazy wave. His Coal Tar laying on top of his hair. "To the new people I didn't see at lunch, the name is Reiji Shiratori. This Coal Tar is my Familiar and his name is Ash", he told the group as he pointed to the demon.

Rin sniffed the air before he ran over to the new guy. "Ashy! You came and found a master too!"

Bon's eyes widened when he heard that and looked up at the new kid who was already staring back and him. He had a finger to his lips and then mouthed, 'later'. Bon looked back at the group and saw that everyone's eyes were on the two little demons playing with each other.

Yesterday, Bon had asked Rin after dinner when everyone went off to bed why he could understand him and the other Familiar when they were fighting. Rin had told him that normal Tamers could understand only their Familiars so that they can work together in battle. If a Tamer had a very high ranked demon, like him and his older brother Ashy, they were give the gift of Demon Tongue. It was a very rare gift that not many can get seeing as not many people were strong enough to summon such a high level demon.

Still, Bon could feel that something else was going on with Reiji and his 'Familiar'. The way the boy and demon showed up only after a few days that Rin was summoned; not to mention that all the kids that could see demons in the school were already here. All children that came to this school were given tests to see if they could see demons or not. If they could, then they were given a choice after the fist class of Cram School if they wanted to become an Exorcist or not. Reiji was not there. As Bon turned his eyes away from the silver haired boy and watched the two demons play with each other, he looked back at him one last time and nodded. He would wait until later to get his answers.

Hey everyone, I'm so sorry that I took so long to get this chapter out. I had a lot of different thing going on and things I had to do. I will do better and not leave you guys for so long again; and if I do have to leave for a long time I'll give you a heads up so I don't leave you hanging.
