Chapter 2: Copycat
In a district mostly known for hosting as a residence for the well-to do families in the country of Japan of the superpowered world that planet Earth had become, the Toga family stood out as a—unique—case.
It wasn't because they had procured their riches through unsavory or illegal means, or that it was an abusive household, or even that the patriarch or matriarch's quirks were particularly noteworthy. No, nothing of that sort.
Rather, it was the quirk of the family's only child—a daughter—that was the source of the Togas' peculiarity in their particular community. The reason for that?
It revolved around the use and consumption of blood, though the exact nature of what this does as a power was never discovered. This revelation about the daughter's quirk never sat well with her father, who complained about her not being his definition of 'normal.' Her mother, however, saw her daughter differently.
This daughter's name was Himiko—a name literally meaning 'Sunny Daughter'—and despite the nature of her quirk, was a very cheerful and sweet girl with a very deep rooted sense of love at her very core.
Allow us to give you the necessary context of our little summary…
-Ten Years Ago-
A small Himiko, barely of the age of five walked up to the porch of her family's house with something small cradled in her hands. As she stepped inside the house, she tried calling to her parents.
"Mommy, Daddy!" The little girl cried in a mixture of nervous excitement and concern.
"What is it, dear?" The girl's mother asked as she and her husband came to her. The girl then opened her tiny hands and showed them a clearly injured bird, specifically a common Thrush.
"I was playing with this little bird outside in the garden. I tried to be gentle but I hurt it." The girl told them as she held the animal to her cheek. "It was so pretty, I just wanted to pet it. I didn't mean to hurt it." She whimpered, kissing the little bird's wounds like her mother would her own, as if trying to make the Thrush feel better.
Though a small smirk began subconsciously forming on her face. However this did not seem to be noticed by the girl in the slightest. Her mother took this as a sign of her quirk's urges—and thus—was something she had no control over.
"Oh dear…" The mother said in concern. The father, on the other hand…
"Why can't you be normal?!" He snapped before storming off. Himiko seemed hurt by his words, but her mother was quick to comfort her.
"Don't listen to him, Himiko, it isn't your fault. Your quirk may have just made you act too hard on the bird because of your fascination with blood." The woman explained as she gently took the hurt but still alive bird from the little one's hands. "Come on, let's see if we can make it feel better." She smiled warmly at her daughter.
"O-okay, mommy." Himiko nodded as the two went into the house's bathroom.
-Present Day-
As sunlight shone into the very girly decorated room of the currently teenaged Himiko Toga, the Pomeranian blonde girl yawned as she slowly woke up to the sound of cheerful chirping and a light pecking on her forehead.
Groaning slightly, Himiko groggily opened her eyes and saw her pet bird—the same Thrush from when she was four—pecking on her forehead to wake her up.
"Okay okay, Chisaitori, I'm up—I'm up!" Himiko told the avian creature—whose name meant 'little bird'—as it flew into its open cage and started pecking at its—currently—empty bowl. The teenage girl chuckled slightly and went to get some food for her bird friend.
After taking care of Chisaitori's food needs, she got herself dressed and went to get some breakfast. Rushing down to the kitchen she was met by her mother who already had her breakfast ready for her. Her father had already gone to work.
"Here you are, Himiko, you better take it and hurry or you'll be late for school." Himiko's mother—Akiko—told her child as said girl took a bottle of milk in one hand, a bento box in the other and a piece of toast covered in crunchy peanut butter and honey in her mouth.
"Okay!" The child said in a muffled tone due to her mouth being full, before dashing out the door. Akiko sighed as she watched her leave.
"Honestly, that girl is all kinds of trouble." She said as Chisaitori landed on her shoulder. "Here you go." She said, giving him some bread crumbs.
(Meanwhile)
As Himiko ran towards her school after completing her daily train commute, it became clear to the outside observer that she was very different from the tiny child of ten years ago.
Himiko was a relatively petite, fair-skinned girl who was very prone to blushing and was frequently described as having a rather pretty face by her peers. She has slightly inward-tilting bright yellow eyes with thin slits, making them somewhat resemble those of a cat, and her wide mouth is also rather feline, as both her upper and lower canines are more pointed and longer than the rest of her teeth, giving her a vampire-like appearance. Her hair was a pale, dirty ash-blonde and is styled into two messy buns, with numerous wild strands sticking out at all angles from their centers and where they're fastened, a straight fringe and two chin-length side bangs to frame her face.
Her attire was the typical female uniform of her middle school: a plain seifuku with a Kansai collar, both the skirt and the shirt dark blue with a double white trim, which is paired with a red scarf that she ties loosely below. Over this, she wears an oversized beige cardigan with a rather long hem and cuffs, and pockets on either side, the right one shown to hold a number of trinkets on either a keychain or a cellphone strap. She sports knee-length black socks and dark brown dress shoes with thick heels, the same as the outdoor uniform shoes students traditionally wear in Japanese schools.
And as for her quirk? It was known as Transform—a Quirk which grants her the ability to transform into a physical lookalike of another individual, as well as copy their voice. She can only transform into people whose blood she has ingested. The more blood she drinks, the longer she has access to that person's form. She can switch between the appearances of multiple people if she drinks the blood of more than one person. She can even duplicate a person's clothing, though her own clothes would overlap the transformation, requiring her to get naked beforehand. Upon deactivating her Quirk or switching to another disguise, Himiko's disguise melts into a gray viscous liquid.
Though this quirk was usually regarded in a rather standoffish attitude by the typical passerby, tactically minded aspiring hero students often praised the blonde for her unorthodox quirk due to its uses in sneaking around and missions that involved infiltration.
The rest, who knew next to nothing about tactical usages of quirks, often scorned her for having a 'villainous' quirk. Himiko just metaphorically flipped them off in response.
This 'mixed bag' of reactions to her quirk often dictated how she interacted with people based on their views of this aspect of her. These took the expected shapes of either: patient coaxing, friendly back and forth, or general apathy and ignorance of the people who scorn her.
As she was on her way to school, she jumped in fright when a giant man appeared and started terrorizing the train station that was on her way to school. Looking at the scene, she let out a small sigh as she realized she was going to be late because of this. As she watched the fight continue, she spotted Kamui Woods getting ready for his special move.
Right as he was about to unleash it, though…
"CANYON CANNON!" Mt. Lady yelled as she came flying out of nowhere. Himiko looked at the woman and regarded her with intense jealousy, namely because of the female hero's notably voluptuous figure. Which was in direct contrast to her own lack of a shapely figure.
"Why can't I be that sexy?" She muttered enviously. Ignoring her words about not having to worry about the villain anymore, she got on her train and waited to depart for her school.

-Suhas Girls Academy-
Himiko sighed as she walked into her class. She had arrived late as expected, and her teacher wasn't exactly too thrilled.
"Miss Toga, mind explaining why you're late?" Her teacher questioned sternly in a sensual Japanese dialect. It wasn't that she hated her due to her quirk, it was just her tardiness.
Her teacher was a black haired woman with a beauty mark underneath her left eye, a fair complexion and a shapely figure similar to mount Lady. Her eyes looked similar in shape to a pair of almonds and single colored blue.
"There was a villain attack at the train station I go to on my way here." The girl explained, getting an understanding nod in return.
"I see. Some of the faculty mentioned passing by that attack on their way here." The woman said.
"Yeah, it was a real pain." She sighed as she took her seat. It was then that a girl in her class, Momo Yaoyorozu, tapped her on the shoulder.
"Toga-san, I hope I'm not intruding on your privacy but, you weren't hurt when you were near that attack, were you?" The girl asked. She was from a very wealthy family of pro heroes who lived near Himiko's neighborhood. Momo was the top of the class and also acted as the Class Rep. though due to her motherly nature, most of the girls in class took to calling her the Class Mom.
"I got out with no scratches. Don't worry." The cat eyed blonde replied, appreciating her concern. Momo let out a sigh of relief before both young ladies turned back to their teacher.
"Now girls, with all of you entering high school next term, it's important that you seriously consider what you want to do with the rest of your lives." The woman stated as she started fanning herself with a stack of papers. "Now, I could pass these aptitude tests so you could see how well you'd do in a day job…" She shrugged before tossing them over her shoulder. "I could make the assumption that you would all prefer to be on the hero track." She stated nonchalantly. Most of the girls have varying admissions to that.
'Well, she's not wrong.' Himiko thought.
"For example, according to these papers we have three girls in this class trying for UA." The woman said this made everyone but said three whisper amongst themselves. "Let's see… there's Yaoyorozu, who's on track to be accepted via recommendations. No surprise there." She started. "Then Uraraka and… Oh! Toga! Very interesting."She added with a curious smile.
Most of the class started murmuring about the girl in question, mostly saying bad things about her quirk. Others started talking about how her quirk seemed like it wouldn't be useful in UA's entrance exams per say.
"Her quirk's a villainous one, can she really make it work heroically?" One girl asked.
"I mean the Hero Vlad King can. So it's not that far of a stretch." Another countered.
"But it's not combat oriented! No offense to Toga-Chan but she's not very physically strong. I'm afraid she'd get hurt in the practical exam!" One of the blonde's friends who had a mouse quirk squeaked.
"Yeah but she's really athletic and a crazy good gymnast. Not to mention she's great with knives in the kitchen, maybe she could use those to do it?" Another girl who looked like a cyclops girl suggested.
The shapeshifting girl made sure to commit that last one to memory for later. Momo gave the class a stern look that made them clam up.
"Okay, be quiet now, girls. We still have a class to do." Their teacher told them. The girls nodded at her and then turned back to their studies as the day properly began.
(Later)
As the day ended Himiko started packing her things up into her satchel, when her classmate Ochako Uraraka came up to her, getting the blonde's attention.
Ochako and Himiko were acquainted with each other well enough, but due to different factors they never had the chance to truly interact and become friends. So for her to approach the shapeshifter was quite the unexpected—but not unwelcome—surprise.
"Hey, Toga-San!" The round faced girl said as she approached.
"Oh, hey Uraraka. What's up?" Himiko asked in slight confusion.
Ochako seemed bashful for a moment or two before she shuffled for a moment. "Well… I know we haven't exactly been that close, but I was wondering if we could try changing that?" She asked. "I mean, since we're both going to try for UA, it'd be nice to have a few friends there." She added.
The blond girl blinked at her words before nodding."Sure. That'll make things easier." She nodded. Ochako smiled as the two left school together.
"Great! Maybe we can go to each other's houses from time to time too." Ochako suggested. Himiko looked a little awkward about that.
"Uh… If you're comfortable with coming to my house, considering where I live." She muttered.
"Why?" Ochako asked in confusion.
"Well, when my quirk first appeared, I was playing with a small Thrush and I accidentally hurt it and it started bleeding." Himiko explained. "I felt my quirk attract me to the blood, but I stopped myself long enough to bring it to my parents" She continued. "My father scolded me for my behavior, but my mom understood what was going on and helped me."
Ochako blinked at the story. She wasn't quite expecting what it went into, but she was far from amused by Himiko's father's actions. At least she had a mother who wanted to help her.
"Oh. So you're from a dysfunctional home." The brunette surmised.
"That basically sums it up. Yeah" Himiko nodded as they arrived at the train station. That was when both girls had to backpedal when a man whose body was made of green sludge came running past them. "What the-!" She exclaimed in surprise.
"Another villain? Don't these guys ever take a break?" Ochako groaned when a very large man chased after the villain, and both girls were quick to notice his glinting smile and antenna-like blonde hair.
"Whoa! Was that All Might?!" The two exclaimed in unison. "No way!" They added as they watched the man dive into the sewers after the evil doer. The two then turned to each other and squealed together. "So cool!" They fangirled in unison.
They then continued on their way to the train station, but they somehow got lost. As they walked around, trying to find their way around, Himiko bumped into someone.
"Oof! Sorry about… that." Himiko apologized as she looked up and became very surprised with whom she had bumped into.
It was a boy in a middle school uniform with green hair, green eyes and freckles on his face. What really caught her and Ochako's attention were the impossible muscles his body was sporting.
As they continued to stare up at him, Himiko accidentally fell over in the process from surprise at the sheer size of the boy in front of her.
"Are you… okay?" The boy asked as he knelt down in front of her, stretching out a hand to try and help her, his voice sounded soft, but also strong.
"Uh, yeah. I'm fine." The blondie replied as she accepted the offered hand—which completely pulled her petite hand in—and was pulled to her feet. "Who are you?" She asked as she looked up.
"Izuku Midoriya." The tall boy replied. "And you two?" He asked.
"I'm Ochako Uraraka." The brunette replied.
"H-Himiko Toga." The copycat added.
"It's nice to meet you." Izuku nodded. Meanwhile the girls were a bit too busy staring at his shirt collar and neck.
'Oh my god, those neck muscles look like they could cut diamonds!' They thought in unison, while also wondering how his uniform was able to contain such a physique.
"Are you two heading to the train station?" The gentle giant asked.
"Uh, yeah, we were just headed there." Himiko nodded.
"Do you know where we need to turn to get there?" Ochako asked.
"You just need to head south and take a right turn before making a left and heading straight from there. The train station will be two blocks away after that." The giant replied.
"Thanks." Ochako said before grabbing Himiko's arm. "Come on Himiko! We're gonna miss the train!" She said.
"Hang on." The blonde said before she took a pen and wrote something on Izuku's hand. "Here are our numbers. Give us a call sometime when you're free, okay big guy?" She told him with a smile.
"Um… Okay?" Izuku responded in minor confusion as he looked at the numbers written on his hand while the girls made their way to the train station.
(Later)
"... He seemed nice." Ochako offered after a period of silence between the two.
"And his body looked like it belonged to a Greek god! I mean, did you see those muscles?! Ohhh, hold me, Ochako, I think I'm gonna faint!" Himiko swooned as she fell into her friend's arms dramatically.
"Oh get up, you dork." Ochako smiled with a roll of her eyes. Himiko let out a laugh as she got back to her feet. "Though you are right, he was a hunk, that's for sure. And he was so sweet!"
"Definitely boyfriend material." Her friend nodded as they reached the part of town they needed to be in.
However, as this happened, the two ended up walking to the same train station that Izuku was at that morning. And accidentally kicking a bottle as they continued to walk, and unwittingly caused the bottle containing the slime villain burst open and the creature started grabbing both girls.
"What the hell?!" Himiko shouted. Acting quick, she pushed her best friend away. "Ochako, sound the ala-!" She tried to say before being cut off.
"HIMIKO!" The girl screamed as her friend started to get swallowed by the slime, and she herself was still in its grip when her screams caught the attention of the nearby heroes.
Could this day get any weirder?
Dragon Emperor0: Hey guys, sorry if this chapter is a little short, but it's mainly just to introduce this story's version of Toga in a brief and concise manner that doesn't bombard one with excessive minutiae.
ThermalsniperN7: Yeah. No reason for something big and complex for something as simple as this.
Dragon Emperor0: Additionally I think it's important for you all to know that since Toga is going to be a hero. She needs a costume, so after some combing through the Internet I found a couple and am going to let you—the readers—decide which we will use.
