Hey, guys! Here is the fourteenth chapter of Holy World Chronicles! Facing off against the Coalition, which is comprised of the Alliance's old enemies, they must fight to secure the Power Gem. Hope you liked it.
Chapter 14 - Battle for the First Gem
Matterhorn, The Alps
"Oh, fools… You have no idea at all what you're in for." Sauk said, holding out the Power Gem inside the container as the gem itself starts to unleash a strong purple glow.
"Why don't you try us!" Kouga hollered, charging alongside Eden.
Several Phantoms attempted to stand in their way by firing their alien-like blasters, but the two Bronze Saints effortlessly dodged them.
"Stay still, humans!" A Phantom hollered.
Kouga punched through two Phantoms with lightning speed, while Eden generated a blast of lightning on five Phantoms all at once.
"What the hell are these humans?!" A Phantom asked, in fright.
"Didn't you know?! They are Saints of the Goddess Athena!" Another Phantom answered.
"And your worst nightmare!" Kouga hollered, doing a Pegasus Flash Fist on the two Phantoms that talked earlier.
"Tch. Knew these Phantoms were useless". Tetra said.
"Doesn't matter. We still have our prize." Sauk said.
"You're not taking it without a fight." Eden said; he and Kouga charged towards the two Venusians without fear.
"Pegasus Meteor Fist!" Kouga shouted.
"Orion's Devastation!" Eden shouted.
"Shadow Grayer!" Sauk shouted.
"Mena Optimum!" Tetra shouted.
All four clashed their attacks in a collision, generating an explosion of cosmic energy.

"Fire Dragon Wing Attack!" Natsu shouted, blowing away multiple Phantoms at once.
Natsu then turned to Erigor, floating in the air with a cocky smirk, annoying Natsu.
"I'll wipe that smirk off yer face, windbag!" Natsu hollered.
"Come and try it, fly!" Erigor hollered.
"Fire Dragon Roar!" Natsu shouted, shooting out his Dragon Roar at Erigor.
"Storm Mail!" Erigor shouted, generating his armored wind that blew away Natsu's attack.
"Not that spell!" Happy hollered.
"Your flames cannot defeat my wind, Salamander! I'm not the same as before!" Erigor hollered.
"Dammit!" Natsu hollered.
"That means even your flames aren't gonna cut through that armor, Hinata." Ruby explained, shooting down a Phantom.
"Well that sucks!" Hinata hollered, slashing through two Phantoms with a horizontal attack.

Gajeel and Elfman were knocked back by Hazel's sheer might but quickly regained their footing.
"Damn, he's strong." Gajeel said.
"Not to mention our attacks aren't dealing any permanent damage." Levy said.
"His Semblance allows him not to feel any pain." Ren explained.
"That explains how he can easily endure so many Dust crystals he inject into his body." Ren continued.
"We don't even have to worry about holding anything back! We can just hammer him until he goes down!" Nora hollered.
"Gihi. Now that's a plan we can get behind." Gajeel said, cracking his knuckles.
"Be careful. I'm afraid his rage will make him harder to deal with." Ozpin explained.
"You would know that, wouldn't you?" Hazel asked.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Lisanna asked.
"Because all you children are just sacrificial pawns in Ozpin's game. Like he did with my sister." Hazel replied.
"Come to think of it, I remember hearing Hazel and the professor talking about that at Haven." Ren explained.
"Is that true?" Pantherlily asked.
Ozpin lowered his head in shame.
"My sister's dead because of him. And I won't stop until he's destroyed - every last reincarnation of this demon." Hazel explained.
"And does that make you a man?" Elfman asked, causing everyone to turn their attention to the Beast Soul user.
"I understand completely how you feel about family. I get that." Elfman continued.
"But she choose to die of her own choice when she wanted to become a Huntress like Ruby and the others." Elfman finished.
"She was just a child!" Hazel hollered.
"And so are we! But we have each other!" Elfman hollered.
"I once failed Lisanna when I lost her long ago. But I swear that won't that happen to her. To Mira. Or to anyone in my Fairy Tail family!" Elfman hollered.
"By being involved in Ozpin's war?! You're nothing but pawns to him!" Hazel hollered.
"What about you? You're just a pawn to Salem because of your rage!" Elfman hollered.
Elfman pounded his right fist into his heart.
"If you were a real man, you would've fought to honor your sister's wishes to protect others!" Elfman hollered.
"But instead, you dishonor her memory by killing innocents who have nothing to do with your grudge!" Elfman hollered.
Gajeel, Pantherlily, Levy, Lisanna, Ren, Nora and Ozpin were totally amazed by Elfman's words. But Hazel became extremely angry as veins of energy began flowing through his arms.
"How… DARE YOU!" Hazel shouted.
In a total fit of rage, Hazel charged at Ozpin. Elfman charged forward by using Beast Arm: Iron Bull to collide against Hazel's fist.
Gajeel and the others braced themselves for the impact.
"Ozpin! Let me take over!" Oscar hollered, wanting to switch with Ozpin.
"But, Oscar…" Ozpin said.
"You talking to him will only make things worse! Please, let us handle this!" Oscar hollered.
Ozpin relented and switched control back to Oscar, as he and the others were getting ready to back up Elfman.

"Wolf Claw!" Haruto shouted, attempting to slash at Skytalon but the birdman flew into the air easily.
"Too slow!" Skytalon hollered.
Haruto clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Stay still, you feathered freak!" Tanaka hollered.
"Ryunosuke! On your right!" Master Saru hollered, which Tanaka immediately followed and saw two Phantoms coming towards him.
"Savage Stab!" Tanaka shouted, stabbing one Phantom square on before slamming him into the other Phantom.
"You need to stay calm and not fall for an enemy's taunt!" Master Saru hollered, jumping over three Phantoms attempting to gang up on him.
"I will!" Tanaka hollered.
Nishinoya whacked two Phantoms with his nunchakus, while Zao Mei and Lee easily used their ninja skills to maneuver through a crowd of Phantoms.
"Ninja Art: Fire Bombs!" Zao Mei shouted, firing several small bombs that exploded with great effect on the crowd of Phantoms.
"Ninja Art: Deadly Slash!" Lee shouted, attacking with blinding speeds and with a kunai in hand.
"Curse these humans!" A Phantom hollered.
"Start with the girl!" Another Phantom hollered, as several more were aiming their blasters at Lee.
Haruto quickly came to her rescue by holding her bridal style and escaping before the Phantoms shot the ground.
Haruto landed safely with Lee in tow.
"You alright?" Haruto asked.
Lee suddenly blushed a little after being saved by the Wolf Saint. She nodded as Haruto let her down.
"Then let's get back in the fight." Haruto said, eying Skytalon now taking on Master Saru.

Kouga and Eden were pushed by by Sauk and Tetra's combined might.
"They're stronger than last time." Kouga said.
"Yeah." Eden said.
"We've played with you for long enough." Sauk said.
Sauk took out the Power Gem from the container and put in his opposite hand, glowing a bright purple with power surging through the Class 2 Venusian.
That caused everyone to stop what they were doing to see the glow generating from Sauk.
Sauk began to feel immense power as he fired a blast of purple energy straight at Kouga and Eden.
The two Saints quickly moved out of the way, but the blast went all the way to a nearby mountain and blew it up halfway.
Everyone in the vicinity were totally shocked by the immense power displayed.
"Holy crap…!" Natsu hollered.
"So that's the power of one of the Cosmic Gems…" Master Saru said.
Sauk breathed very heavily from the overuse of extreme power.
"I won't miss a second time!" Sauk hollered.
"Hold on!" Tetra hollered.
"Shut up! I'm gonna kill those Saints in the name of Lord Venus!" Sauk hollered.
"Kouga! We need to give this everything we've got!" Eden hollered.
"That's what I was gonna say! But let's do it!" Kouga hollered.
"Shine…" Kouga said.
"Rumble…" Eden said.
"Our Cosmo!" Kouga and Eden shouted in unison.
The two demigod Saints entered the Ryusei state, increasing their powers exponentially.
"It's that infernal Ryusei Cosmo!" Tetra hollered.
"Doesn't matter! The Power Gem is far superior!" Sauk hollered, preparing to fire another attack.
"We won't let you this time!" Kouga hollered.
In a blinding speed, Kouga moved as fast as the speed of light and knocked the Power Gem, including the container, out of Sauk's hand and landed on the field just few feet away from them.
"Impossible!" Sauk hollered.
"Everyone! We need to wrap this up now!" Kouga hollered.
The Alliance and Changs nodded in agreement and decided to wrap things up.

"You flies won't win!" Erigor hollered.
"Emera Baram!" Erigor shouted, firing his ultimate move straight at Natsu, Happy, Ruby and Hinata.
Natsu grinned in the face of adversity and let out a roar, engulfing himself in intense flames as he prepared to counter with a move of his own.
"Dragon Slayer's Secret Art… Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade!" Natsu shouted, unleashing a powerful torrent of flames to counter Erigor's move.
The two attacks collided fiercely with neither fighter backing down.
"Don't leave us out of the fun, man!" Hinata hollered.
"We may not be stronger than you, but we're gonna help anyway!" Ruby hollered.
"Sy-Pod Blast!" Ruby shouted.
"Sun Fire!" Hinata shouted.
Ruby and Hinata fired together with the Fire Dust bullet shot from Crescent Rose became augmented by Hinata's Sun Fire and began to empower Natsu's Exploding Flame Blade that started pushing back Emera Baram, to Erigor's shock.
"H-How?!" Erigor thought.
"GO!" Happy shouted.
Natsu let out a battle cry as he obliterated Emera Baram and connected his ultimate mov against Erigor, burning him greatly as the wind wizard screamed in pain.
Erigor suddenly vanished once he was defeated.
Natsu pumped a fist into the air, signaling his victory as Ruby, Hinata and Happy cheered.

"I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF ALL OF YOU!" Hazel shouted, intending to kill Elfman's group without hesitation.
"Solid Script: Fire!" Levy shouted.
"Musica Sword!" Pantherlily shouted.
"Animal Soul: Harpy!" Lisanna shouted.
"Grenade Shot!" Nora shouted.
"StormFlower Fire!" Ren shouted.
Levy, Pantherlily, Lisanna, Nora and Ren combined their attacks to slow down Hazel despite not feeling any major pain.
Oscar rushed in and delivered a few cane thrusts to annoy Hazel even more. But that gave Elfman and Gajeel the opportunity to finish things with their best moves.
"Dragon Slayer's Secret Art… Karma Demon: Iron God Sword!" Gajeel shouted.
"Full-Body Take-Over: Beast Soul!" Elfman shouted.
Gajeel first used his Dragon Slayer's Secret Art to slam hard down on Hazel, then allowed Elfman pounded Hazel extremely hard for extra measure, making him disappear upon his defeat.
Elfman reverted back into his original form with a serious look on his face.
"A real man would honor the dying wishes of his family." Elfman said.
"Yeah~!" Levy, Lisanna and Nora hollered in unison, cheering for their success.
Gajeel, Ren and Pantherlily smiled.
But Oscar closed his eyes to give a minute to himself.
"I promise you one day, Hazel - I will save you from your madness." Oscar thought.

"Twirling Talon!" Skytalon shouted, twirling like a drill with his target being Master Saru.
Master Saru remained calm and simply used the tip of his staff to block the attack, much to Skytalon's total shock.
"B-But how?!" Skytalon exclaimed.
"You are so much like your master: misguided and reckless." Master Saru explained.
"Why you…!" Skytalon hollered.
"Counter Strike!" Master Saru shouted, performing a counter move with a quick palm thrust straight into Skytalon's stomach, making the anthropomorphic bird cough saliva.
"Save some for us, sensei!" Nishinoya hollered.
"We wanna clip that bird's wings!" Tanaka hollered.
"Combo Move: Crazy Smackdown!" Nishinoya and Tanaka shouted in unison.
The two second-years did a wild barrage of nunchuck and sai strikes that Skytalon couldn't defend against in time.
Skytalon was getting far too angry, but that anger made him blind to notice Haruto and the Changs were already behind him.
"Dead Howling!" Haruto shouted.
"Ninja Combo Art: Chang Dynasty!" Zao Mei and Lee shouted in unison.
The three ninjas combined their moves to finish off Skytalon, making him vanish upon his defeat.
"HELL YEAH!" Nishinoya and Tanaka shouted in unison.
Haruto, Master Saru, Zao Mei and Lee smiled in victory.

Kouga and Eden were now overpowering Sauk and Tetra in high-speed combat. The two Saints were now having the upper hand.
"Let's end this with a combo move, Eden!" Kouga hollered.
"Right there with you!" Eden hollered.
"Pegasus Big Bang!" Kouga shouted.
"Thousand Cross!" Eden shouted.
Kouga and Eden combined both a barrier and a beacon of light and fired a powerful beam of energy that blasted Sauk and Tetra head-on.
"DAMN YOU!" Sauk shouted.
Sauk and Tetra vanished without a trace.
Kouga and Eden fist-bumped in victory.
The Alliance were victorious in their battle.

A few minutes later, a portal now opened to pick up the Matterhorn Team. They were also able to safely secure the Power Gem inside the container after seeing what happened to Sauk, and make sure to relay that information to everyone else back home.
Ozpin, now in control of Oscar's body, wanted to make a confession.
"Everyone… I…" Ozpin said.
"You don't have to say much. We pretty known for a while thanks to Evan's notes." Levy explained.
"We understand you have your secrets. But you gotta promise to tell us everything, okay?" Nora asked.
Ozpin took a minute to think about it, and let out a breath of calmness.
"I promise. No more lies, no more half-truths." Ozpin said.
"But a word of caution: you all must be prepared that the truth is not easy to handle and takes time to decide your next course of action." Ozpin explained.
"You all should keep that in mind." Master Saru said.
The Acts of Order, Eden, Haruto, Gajeel, Pantherlily, Elfman, Levy, Lisanna, Nora, Ren, Tanaka and Nishinoya nodded in agreement.
"You two sure you don't wanna come with us?" Haruto asked, turning to Zao Mei and Lee.
"Don't worry. We have our way around the world." Zao Mei replied.
"But if you ever need our help, give us a call." Zao Mei continued.
"Much appreciated, Master Zao Mei." Master Saru said, doing a ninja bow of respect.
Zao Mei did the same.
Lee looked at Haruto and began to blush a little.
Without warning, she lowered her mask, revealing her face to do an unexpected move… kissing Haruto on the cheek.
Everyone were completely surprised, but Haruto was the most with widened eyes as he turned to Lee, who just put her mask back on to prevent her tomato red face being seen.
"It's, uh… my way of saying thank you… for saving me earlier." Lee explained.
Nora was bursting with joy.
"I'm telling Mira!" Nora hollered, entering the portal first.
"Don't you dare tell her, Nora!" Levy hollered.
"Nothing good comes from Mira-nee-chan!" Lisanna hollered.
Levy and Lisanna followed into the portal, attempting to stop Nora.
Ren sighed.
"I better go help them." Ren said, entering the portal next.
"That's our cue." Pantherlily (in his Exceed form again), entering the portal.
"Gihihi." Gajeel said, following his partner inside.
"Our juniors are growing up, Noya-san." Tanaka said, referring to the Acts of Order and Haruto.
"We better get back so we can maintain our position as seniors!" Nishinoya hollered.
"And we'll do it manly style!" Elfman hollered.
Tanaka, Nishinoya and Elfman entered the portal next.
Ozpin/Oscar and Eden followed behind, dragging the still dazed Haruto with them.
"Let us be going." Master Saru said.
"Right. See ya!" Kouga hollered.
The Acts of Order and Master Saru entered the portal last, before closing.
Zao Mei and Lee smiled before immediately vanished from Matterhorn.
Now tied with the Coalition one gem each, the Alliance won their first battle for the possession of the Cosmic Gems.
But the war has only begun!

Ren: He's right. We can't be overconfident.
Nora: Don't be a duo of party poopers!
Kouga & Natsu: Party poppers!
Eden: Good grief.
Ren: They say overconfidence makes you careless. Guess I was right.
Kouga: Now let's find the next gem!
Natsu & Nora: Yeah!
Eden & Ren sighed in annoyance.
Ren: Next time: Chapter 15 - Snowfield Scramble.
Eden: We may as well let them have their moment.
Ren: Yeah…
Did you enjoy it? Quite the battle with character moments like a new ship with Haruto and Lee Chang, Elfman scolding Hazel and his revenge for Gretchen Rainart, and now the Alliance is tied with the Coalition each with one Cosmic Gem. We see the normal Phantoms in action, and there will be other types in future battles to come.
Starting next month, I will be announcing what I have planned for a while that will be first announced on the next chapter of Super World Chronicles, then told much later in this story and Grand World Chronicles.
