Beacon Awaits
[A/N: This is my first fanfic, so don't be too surprised if the characters appear a little OOC, call me out for any spelling, grammar, etc errors I make, as I often just make these and forget to look at the spelling, also the dialog is taken is taken from the transcripts found on the RWBY fandom wiki, with the obvious exception of the dialog I've inserted for the reason of this story, another thing, my OC's impact to the story will be minimal at first, but will become bigger as the story progresses.]
Several people are seen stepping out of a Bullhead. In particular, two individuals are of note, a tall buxom blonde with pale skin and lilac eyes, that gives off the kinda vibe that says "I can be your friend, but mess with me and there'll be problems," wearing an orange scarf with a tan brown short sleeve crop top jacket and a yellow low cut crop top underneath with a black emblem reminiscent of a flaming heart on the left breast a pair of fingerless black gloves with yellow gauntlets over her wrists, wearing a brown belt with the material spanning hip to hip around the back of her waist with a golden version of the previous emblem on the right most pleat with a white asymmetric material reaching down to the right knee with black spandex compression shorts underneath and brown knee-high boots with orange over-the-knee socks with the right one only just barely going over her right knee, with the left knee having a grey bandanna tied around it, and beside her is a shorter girl with fair skin, neck-length black hair with red hair, with silver eyes, she wears a black long sleeve blouse with a high collar and red trim on the sleeves, with a black waist cincher with red lacing up the front and a matching skirt with red lining, along with thick black stockings and black combat boots with red laces, trims around the top, and soles, finally with a red hooded cloak fastened to her shoulders by criss-cross shaped pins, with a silver emblem reminiscent of a rose pinned to her belt with pockets a bullets also attached, on the back of her waist is a red box of sorts.
"Wow..." the two say together staring up a the structure. "The view from Vale's got nothing on this!" the blonde exclaims.
"Ohmygosh, sis! That kid's got a collapsible staff! And she's got a fire sword! Ow! Ooww!" the younger one exclaims attempting to get a closer look before being pulled by the hood by her now revealed sister.
"Easy there, little sister. They're just weapons!" the older one says, "Just weapons? They're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! Oh, they're so cool!" responds the younger sister gushing over the weapons in sight once more. "Well, why can't you swoon over your own weapon? Aren't you happy with it?" the older sister questions the younger sister.
At this she pulls out the box on the back of her waist, which promptly unfolds into a large red scythe. "Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose! I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people, but better..." in response the blonde pushes the hood of her younger sister over her face, "Ruby, come on, why don't you go try and make some friends of your own? Like that guy over there!" the blonde points over to a young man, standing away from all the other students. "See? He seems just as unlikely as you to approach others to make friends, it's like a match made in heaven!" the older sister teases. "Yang! I don't even know him! Stop trying to set me up with people!" Ruby whined back to her sister, now identified as Yang.
Yang then runs towards the boy while dragging Ruby, who is attempting to escape the terror that is social interaction, behind to meet the guy. Upon getting closer, they are able to get a better look at him, he was of slim build, with slightly tanned skin, with slicked back blue hair, with grey eyes, he is wearing a baggy blue and grey camo muscle-shirt with a hood, with baggy blue and grey camo pants, with grey combat boots, and three grey bandoliers, 1 used as a belt, with the other 2 are crossed over his chest, all are loosely slung over their respective areas, and finally he wears a blue bandanna over his forehead, but the most prominent feature may just be the 2 shoulder length gloves that appear to be made of metal, with the top section of the arm to the top of the hand being boxy, with holes just above the knuckles and just above that in the centre of the box having a spike jutting out from it, the majority of the gloves are blue but there are stripes on either side of the gloves that are grey in colour, with the knuckles also being grey. Despite his tough looking clothing, he sports a highly nervous expression and is shaking furiously and looks ready to run for the hills at the drop of a pin.
"Hey!" Yang yells out to the boy, who promptly spins around, drops into a crouch and covers his head with his arms, with his eyes wide open in fear. "Whatever it is, I'm sorry!" he shouts out quickly, startling the sisters momentarily. "Woah, dude, calm down, we're not gonna hurt you, alright? I was just trying to help my sis here make some friends," Yang responds still somewhat stunned. "Oh, y-yes, of course, how s-silly of me to believe that I've already offended s-someone, my apologies," he nervously replies while getting up and facing the girls, the nervous look and shaking never ceasing.
"I suppose y-you are awaiting my i-introduction, I am R-Revati Meleagris, f-first year at Beacon A-Academy, or hopeful s-student I suppose," Revati stutters out. "Well, I'm Yang Xiao Long, and as I said before this is my little sis, Ruby Rose," Yang told Revati, who looked at them questioning and asks, "N-No offense but, y-you two don't look like sisters, n-not to mention your last n-names are different," "Ya, well that's because we have different moms," Yang replies back. During this whole conversation Ruby was slowly edging away from the two, only for Yang to grab her hood just as she attempts to run off.
"Ruby, you are gonna stay here and be friends with Revati, big sister's orders!" Yang commands. "But... why would I need friends if I have you?" Ruby asks, "Well..." Yang starts only for a group of people surround her and then dash down the road, "Actually, my friends are here. Gotta go catch up. 'Kay, see ya, bye!" as Yang runs off she sends Ruby spinning and dizzy, "Wait, where are you going? Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms? Do we have dorms?" she says before stopping for a moment, still reeling, "I don't know what I'm doing..." she then falls back into a luggage cart sending cases flying.
"What are you doing?"
