Side Series: The Operative:
Chapter 1-An Important Call
It is now the night after initiation, the fractured moon of Remnant high in the sky, above the city of Vale, more specifically, the slums of Vale, home to a large number of Faunus and poor Humans. A figure is seen walking through one of the alleys, draped in a dark cloak, stepping through a puddle left over from rain a couple of days ago, wandering past dumpsters and the occasional drunkard, drugee, or beggar.
The figure steps out onto the main street, looking left and right, before checking behind them, looking for any potential pursuers. Seeing none, the figure quietly makes their way towards a public communication booth, clearly visible beneath the illuminated street light. The figure then enters the booth, takes out a piece of paper with a number written on it, and dials it into the communicator. Someone picks up, "What is it?" a gruff voice asks, "Angus, this is Finnegan, I came ta inform you of somethin' you might like," a deep voice informs Angus. "And what might that be?" Angus questions, "It's dat da Cat lies within da Cradle, ready for da Bag," Finnegan responds in code.
"Excellent, I wondered where my little troublemaker had run off to, hopefully, I can come pick her up on my next visit over, don't want someone thinking she's a stray to be taken in," Angus happily responds to the news. "Certainly not, 'cause, nothin' is worse den rippin' a pet from a kid's hands, 'specially when dey get attached, I be seein' you in a few, Angus," "Yes, I'll be there as soon as I can," Finnegan hangs up the device, before trudging their way back to where the came from, Beacon Academy, on the way Finnegan says quietly to himself, "Oh, Blakey, Blakey, Blakey, you've gone an' dun made some people upset, I hope you can handle da consequences, 'specially with dem friends you've been makin'." At this, Finnegan returns to being silent.
Along the way, Finnegan reaches into his pocket to grab the piece of paper and a lighter, opening the lighter he flicks it on, and proceeds to burn the paper with Angus' number on it. As Finnegan drops the flaming piece of paper, it floats down, and barely managed to illuminate the side of the lighter...
