Aki was in the midst of admiring the guild mark when Natsu returned from his scuffle, all scratched up, but with a smile on his face. "Oh, I see you got your guild emblem.
Aki nodded proudly, "Yep, I wanted it in the same place as you and mommy."
Natsu just grinned at that. "That makes me really happy. So, how's about we take you on your first job?" He rubbed his daughter's head affectionately.
Aki beamed at that and threw her hands up in the air. "Yay! I can't wait!"
"Then follow me," Natsu said as he lead Aki over to the request board.
"Whoa, what's this?" Aki stared at the numerous fliers that decorated the board.
"This is the request board," Natsu informed his daughter. "People who need our help send all kinds of different job requests over to our guild and then they're posted here."
Aki couldn't help but be drawn to a specific type of flyer on the request board. The fact that there weren't very many of that specific type piqued her curiosity. "Hey, what's an S-Class Quest?"
"Oh, those are jobs that are exclusively for S-Class wizards. It used to be forbidden for anyone else to go on those types of jobs, but now as long as you have another S-Class wizard with you, it's fine."
"Really? Why'd it change?"
"Uh…Long story," Natsu said with an awkward chuckle, not wanting to go into the details of his Galuna Island escapade. "There are only seven people in the whole guild that are S-Class, that includes me and your mother." Natsu winked at Aki. "Though, it used to be eight until yesterday, since Erza left to join the Magic Council."
"Really?" Aki gasped in amazement. "That means that I can go on an S-Class Quest if you or mommy come with me, right?!"
"Absolutely not," Natsu instantly shot down Aki's proposal. "You just became a guild wizard a minute ago. Wait until you get some more experience before taking on big time jobs like those."
"Okay~" Aki pouted a bit but ultimately heeded her father's advice.
"Hey Aki," a boy the same age as Aki with straight scarlet red hair waved over to her. He wore a silver suit of armor that perhaps was a bit too big for his small frame. "Are you a member of Fairy Tail now too?"
Aki nodded, "Yep, you bet I am." She grinned in satisfaction at the fact. "So, how have you been, Elrick?"
Elrick lowered his gaze a bit. "I've been okay…"
"You don't sound okay," Aki noted.
"Are you sad that Auntie Erza won't be around as much anymore?" Gold asked as he walked up next to Elrick, a girl with short orange hair tied in a side ponytail at her side.
"Oh, Gold and Hestia." Aki waved at her friends. "Hey guys."
"Hey Aki," Gold waved back with a bright smile causing Aki to blush a bit.
"I guess my mom not being around might have something to do with it," Elrick admitted.
"Well, don't worry," Hestia spoke up. "You still have us."
"Yeah," Aki nodded in agreement. "And now that I'm here, we can finally form a team together like our parents did!"
"Yeah," Gold agreed.
"So, did you guys come up with an awesome team name for us, yet?"
"Well, I did, but someone shot it down." Hestia glared at Gold.
Gold just rolled his eyes in response. "The Hestia Maidens isn't a good name. Especially when two of us are boys."
"Meh, you're both girly boys anyway."
"Am not!" Gold protested, furrowing his eyeborws.
"Are too." Hestia said, crossing her arms and cocking her head to the side.
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Hey kids, mind if I butt in?" Natsu asked, placing his hand on Aki's shoulder. "Wendy and I would like Aki's first job to be with us. You kids understand, right? Your parents all took you on your first jobs after all."
Gold, Elrick, and Hestia all nodded as they remembered their first jobs. "Daddy and Mommy got taken in for questioning for stripping in public…
"My Daddy and Mommy tried to seduce the bandits…" Hestia said.
"Mine destroyed an entire forest…"
Aki couldn't do anything but stare at her three friends with a dumbfounded expression as sweat slid down the back of her head.
"How about this one?" Wendy walked over with one of the requests in her hands. "It says to fight off some bandits at Daisy City. The reward is fifteen-hundred jewel."
"Sounds like a good one for a beginner. What do you think, Aki?" Natsu asked as he looked over at his daughter.
"Sure, let's do it!" Aki said, bursting at the seams with anticipation.
And so, Aki, Natsu, and Wendy made their way over to Daisy City. It took a while to get there as the sun was now starting to set, but they had almost reached their destination and would arrive there in a few short minutes. However…
"There there Mommy and Daddy." Aki patted both of her parents' shoulders affectionately as they were leaning over with pale faces, clasping their hands over their mouths. "There there."
The train finally came to a stop. Natsu and Wendy rejoiced at that, gleefully throwing their hands into the air. "Yay, it stopped!"
Natsu put Aki on his back. "Come on, Aki. Let's go get meet our client!"
"Daddy, please put me down. This is embarrassing."
"You love whenever I give you a piggyback ride though."
"That was when I was a kid," Aki retorted.
"But you asked for one just last week."
"Yeah, that was before I joined Fairy Tail and became a woman!" Aki nodded profoundly.
Natsu chuckled. "You've still got quite a while to go before you become a woman, little one. Besides, you're never to old for a piggyback ride." He turned to his wife who was just smiling at the scene between father and daughter. "Right, Wendy?"
That smile quickly transitioned to an awkward face however. "Uh, Natsu…?"
Natsu quickly threw Wendy over his shoulders as well and ran out the train. He sped through the town, at a rapid pace, leaving a large trail of dust behind him. Aki and Wendy were barely able to take in the mountainous city's sights atop Natsu's shoulders, due to passing them all by so fast. Within a minute, they had arrived at their client's house. A large white villa with a pattern of sapphire blue outlines stood in front of the three. Several windows were scattered across the house and it was even adorned with a sparkling circular pool on the side.
"Well, here we are," Natsu said as he set Wendy and Aki down.
"Wow, it's beautiful," Wendy said, taking in the sight of the villa.
Aki walked up to the door and ringed the doorbell. Within a couple of seconds, a middle-aged man with clean-cut dark green hair and a mustache to match walked out of the door. "Hello? How may I help you?" He then noticed the emblem on Aki's shoulder. "Oh, you're from Fairy Tail? So they sent a little girl to handle my job, did they?" He looked slightly displeased at that, but just shrugged his shoulders with a sigh. "Well, I suppose that as long as you're capable enough, then it's no big deal, really."
"Actually, she's with us," Natsu informed the man as he walked up to the door with Wendy.
"Oh, Natsu and Wendy Dragneel!" He clapped his hands delightedly. "Two of Fairy Tail's finest. They didn't have to send S-Class wizards, but I'm very glad that they did! You should be able to get the job done in a jiffy then, I'm sure!"
"Damn right we can," Natsu assured him with a confident smirk.
"Natsu, don't say that. We don't know how tough this job could actually be," Wendy reminded him with a gentle, slightly worried voice.
"Ah relax, pumpkin. I'm sure it's nothing we can't handle." He smiled warmly at her and she couldn't help but smile equally as warmly in return. "So, what exactly do you need our help with?" Natsu asked, returning his attention back to the green-haired man.
"Right, well first allow me to introduce myself. My name is Shane Rivers and I am the mayor of this city. Recently, there's been a group of three bandits, calling themselves the Thief Harbingers, that keep stealing from all of the city's residents. It happens every night, someone's home is broken into, and one of their precious valuables stolen."
"The Their Harbingers, huh?" Natsu mused over that name for a while.
"That's really scary," Aki said, trembling a bit.
"So," Shane continued. "What I need you three to do is bring them back to me so I can have them imprisoned. Sound good?"
Natsu nodded. "Yeah, you got yourself a deal, old man."
"Natsu!"
Natsu looked down at Wendy in confusion. "What?"
"I'm not that old!" The mayor protested, steam visibly coming out of his ears.
After their discussion with the mayor of Daisy City, the Dragneel family was now walking through a wide desert area. Sand stretched out as far as the eye could see, several large and small cacti standing in it. Hot wind wisped through the air.
The mayor had told them that his crew had located the Thief Harbingers' home base and that it was somewhere in this desert. Natsu placed a hand on his forehead to block out the bright sun and scanned the area. "Where could they be, I wonder?"
"Looking for somebody?" A big burly bald man wearing an open violet vest and sunglasses stood before Natsu with a grin. At his side was a woman with short and straight light blue hair and a young boy with short shaggy light brown hair wearing a maroon headband and a long-sleeved black shirt.
Natsu gave the three standing before him a good look and decided to get straight to the point. "Are you the Thief Harbingers?"
