Rocky was here. Suck on it losers.
Those words were written in spray paint across a large guild building that had a dragon scale emblem in the center of its banner.
This guild is full of tramps.
Kiss my ass.
Dragon Scale is trash.
Fairy Tail rules.
A young girl with short, slightly spiky black hair jumped off of the stool she was on. She admired her handiwork with a prideful smirk as she placed her hands on her hips. "Yeah, that should do it." Her dark clothes that were ripped all around were now also stained with specks of spray paint.
"Hey, Rocky, you all done?"
Two men several years older than the girl walked up to her. One was a bit taller, with messy black hair, while the other had several markings on his body and long brown locks.
Rocky nodded, "Yep. Here's your can back." She tossed the can of spray paint over to the taller man.
"Thanks, kid." He shook it, listening to nothing but the empty sound of air inside the tin. "You used it all?"
"Sure did."
"Atta girl!" He rubbed Rocky's hair around into even more of mess than it already was.
The long-haired man pulled out a cigarette and lighter. "Rocky, is it about time you head back home? A kid like you shouldn't be out this late." After lighting a spark on it, he put the cigarette into his mouth. Smoke flew from the cigarette as Rocky eyed it intensely.
"Get me one of those and I'll think about it."
"You kiddin' me? You're like eight years old, kid. At least wait until you're a teenager."
His partner had to nudge him at that. "Hey Shawn, what're you saying? She should wait until she's an adult."
"I mean, it's not like we did. I ain't out here tryin' to be a hypocrite is all I'm saying." He took another smoke from his cigarette at that.
"Yeah, well I ain't trying to piss her dad off is all I'm sayin."
"Man, stop being such a wuss, Liam. Her old man ain't nothin' these days."
"That's what you think! He can still be pretty scary when he wants to be, believe me…"
Rocky spit on the ground. "Pfft, he ain't so tough."
"Are you still having trouble getting along with your parents?" Shawn asked in surprise.
She blew a strand of hair out of her face before she responded. "Not really. They're just always a real pain in the ass."
"Yeah, I feel ya," Liam agreed with her, resting his hands behind his head. "Parents are the worst."
"Liam!"
"What?" Liam cocked an eyebrow. "It's the truth."
Shawn just sighed at that. "I don't know what I'm gonna do with ya."
"You're the one who wants to get her to smoke…"
"I didn't say I wanted to. I said she could! When she's a teenager by the way. In case you missed that part bub."
"Rocky Redfox, you're out past your curfew again?" Mest suddenly walked up to the three, a stern look on his face.
"Shit, it's the popo!" Shawn grunted as he hid behind Liam's back. "Take him! I'm innocent!"
Mest let out a light groan before shaking his head. "I'm not here for you two miscreants right now. I'm just here to make sure Rocky gets back home safely. That's why I didn't bring the Custody Enforcement Unit with me."
Rocky clicked her tongue. "Take a hike. Ya damn reprobate."
Mest raised his eyebrow. "What?"
"Look it up. It's in the dictionary. You should use it sometime."
Mest sighed before giving a quick glance to Liam and Shawn. Instantly getting the message, the two men left the premises in a hurry.
"See ya tomorrow, Rocky," Liam said as he ran off.
"Yeah, see ya later, kid!" Shawn said, quickly following behind him.
"Alright Rocky, it's time for you to go home."
Rocky just crossed her arms and arched her head away from Mest. "Make me."
Mest rubbed his hair before sighing. "Guess I'll have to." He forcefully grabbed her by the arm, much to the girl's apparent ire. "Direct Line!" Right aft he shouted those words, he and Rocky had vanished.
They reappeared in a house filled with all kinds of iron weapons and items as well as old and priceless antiques. In addition, there was a row of books that spread through every corner of the house.
"I'm back home…" Rocky grunted, clearly displeased with this fact.
"Yes, you are. Now please try not to do anything that'll give your parents any more trouble. Or me for that matter."
"Thanks, Mest," Gajeel said as he walked out from the kitchen. He gave Rocky a fierce look, signaling to her that she was in a world of trouble. "We'll take it from here." As if one cue, Levy walked out from the kitchen as well.
Mest nodded, "Right, I'll leave it to you then. Have a good night." And at that, Mest teleported out of the house.
"Alright, little missy. You wanna explain to me where you've been?" Gajeel folded his arms, patiently waiting for a response from his daughter. However, all he received was crossed arms and a notched head. "Hey! You had best look at me when I'm talking to you! You hear me?!"
"Calm down, Gajeel," Levy said in a soft voice.
"Being calm doesn't teach lessons Levy. Now a couple slaps on the butt, however…"
"Gajeel!"
"What?!"
"Can I go to my room now?" Rocky asked, slumping down on the couch.
"No. You can go to your room when we say you can and not any sooner. You got that?!"
Rocky just rolled her eyes at that. "Yeah yeah…"
"And don't yeah yeah me! Punk."
"Rocky, listen," Levy started in a gentle tone as she sat down on the couch with her daughter. "You have a curfew for a reason. Where not trying to be mean or anything when we tell you to follow the rules we set for you. Everything we do is just to keep you safe. You're still just a little girl, so it's dangerous for you to be out late at night. Okay?"
"I'm a wizard Mom. It's not dangerous."
"Don't get full of yourself, ya little rug rat," Gajeel scolded her. "You're a new wizard. It ain't nothing to flex about. Got it?"
"Gajeel," Levy glared at him. "Be a bit nicer to her, okay?"
"Why should I? She's done this for who know how many times? We've gotta start putting our feet down, Levy."
Ignoring Gajeel, Levy turned back to face Rocky. "So, what do you say? Will you come home before your curfew now?"
"Nope. Buzz off."
Suddenly, Gajeel was up in Rocky's face giving her the most frightening leer possible. "Wanna try back talking to your mother again? See what happens."
"Pfft, as if I care."
Sternly, Levy put her hands on her hips, clearly becoming fed up with her daughter's rebellious attitude. "You had better listen to your father, young lady."
"Don't tell me what to do. Profligate."
Levy gasped at that word. "What did you just call me?" Rocky averted her eyes from Levy, much to the woman's apparent ire. "Don't you look away from me. Rocky, look over here. Now.
Reluctantly, Rocky did as requested. She placed her hands on her knees and grunted. "Don't grunt at me either," Levy warned her in a strict manner. "I knew I shouldn't have got you that dictionary for your birthday…"
"Well, Levy," Gajeel began, folding his arms. "Think we only have one choice at this point."
Levy nodded, "I agree."
"So, what was your fist job like?" Gold asked Aki, curious about the affairs. He leaned over the table in the guild all, peering his eyes at her. "Did ya get in a bunch of fights?!"
Aki laughed awkwardly as she itched her cheek. "Well, I really only had one fight." Then, she brought both her fists to a chest with a grin. "It was still super awesome though!"
Sitting back in his seat, Gold folded his arms with a smirk. "I see. Well, just so you know, I had three fights on my first job."
"Wow, really?" Aki's eyes sparkled as she clasped her hands together. "That's amazing, Gold!"
"What are you talking about kid?" Gray walked up to his son and ruffled his hair around. "Your first job was helping out at an amusement park. There wasn't any fighting involved."
"Daddy!"
Gray just chucked a bit at Gold pursing his lips at him. "Sorry bucko."
Aki turned to face Elrick and Hestia. "So what about you guys?"
"I didn't get to fight anyone either," Hestia admitted with an embarrassed smile. "I was kinda just watching the whole time."
Elrick lowered his gaze down at the table. He fiddled with his fingers as tears began to form in the corner of his eyes. He bit his lip, digging his nails into his fingers as he did so. "Elrick? Elrick?" Aki's voice raced into his ears and his head perked up as a result.
"H-huh?"
"What about you?" She asked. "Did you have any fights?"
"Oh…" Slowly, Elrick shook his head. "No, I didn't."
A concerned look crossed over Aki's face as she noticed Elrick's pained expression. However, before she could bring it up, a surprising visitor had entered the guild hall.
Gray looked up, and smiled a bit as he saw the visitor walking towards them. "Well, what do you know?"
"Hey, it's Lyon," Natsu noted, as he continued to eat his sandwich. "What's up, man?"
Next to Natsu, Cana had just set down a bottle of alcohol. "Show some respect, Natsu. He's the Master of Lamia Scale now, remember?"
"Course I remember!"
"Meaning you forgot, right?"
Natsu couldn't do anything in response except let out a little embarrassed chuckle as Cana just sighed. Lyon continued walking through the guild hall until he made it to Gray.
"Hello Gray," his voice was low and a bit hoarse and his eyes seemed a bit aimless.
"Hey, Lyon, what's up? Oh sorry…Master Lyon."
Lyon just made a half-hearted smile. "You and I close friends, Gray. You don't need to use my title."
"You okay man?" Gray asked in a worried voice. "You look kinda down." Then, a sudden thought crossed his mind. "Wait, is today…?"
Lyon just nodded solemnly. "Yes, it is."
Gray's expression quickly turned somber as well. "I see." He rested his hand on his friend's shoulder. "I'm sorry man."
"Don't mind it, Gray. That's not the reason I came here." He reached into his pocket and handed Gray a folded up piece of paper. "Here."
"What's this?" Gray wondered aloud as he unfolded the paper. He gasped when he realized what it was. "This is a job request…"
"Yes, that's right."
"But Lyon, why would you give this to me? It asks for you specifically."
"I can't do it," Lyon informed him as his eyes faltered to the floor. "It's from the demons of Galuna Island. They want help with building some new facilities. I assume they asked me since I spent years living there and am familiar with the island's layout. So, I figured you'd be the next best option. You go to visit there every year now, correct?"
Gray nodded, "Yeah, that's right. I was just about to head out tomorrow for another visit actually. So I don't mind helping, but I think you should still come along. Could be fun, ya know?"
Lyon simply just gave Gray a bitter smile. "Sorry Gray." And with that he made his way out the guild hall.
Juvia walked up to Gray, watching worriedly as Lyon made his way out. "So, he's still hurt from what happened back then, huh?"
Gray nodded, "Seems like it. Can't really blame him though. I can't imagine how I'd feel if that ever happened to Gold…"
"Alright, you little rascals," Laxus stormed into the guild hall, an agitated look on his face. He walked over to where the kids were sitting. "Which one of you did it?"
"Did what?" Gold raised an eyebrow in confusion as she set her juice box down.
"Don't play dumb with me," Laxus warned, not wanting to deal with any nonsense today. "I know one of you kids did it. The council was breathing down my neck all morning about it. And I know Erza was especially getting a kick out of it…" He muttered under his breath. Laxus turned to face Hestia. "I bet it was you, wasn't it, you little prankster…"
"I'm innocent!" Hestia proclaimed as she rose her hands in defense. "I didn't even start my prank for this week yet!"
"What?"
"Nothing~"
"What's the matter, Master?" Cana asked before taking a chug out of a large barrel of alcohol.
"Somebody here vandalized the Dragon Scale guild with graffiti," Laxus said as he scanned around the room for the culprit.
"Show yourselves, scoundrel!" Freed ordered, dramatically swinging his arm to the side. "Don't try and hide any longer! Can't you see you've brought much unneeded ire to the great Master Laxus?!"
"Calm down, Freed," Laxus told him, heaving a light sigh.
"Yes, as you wish, Master," Freed obliged, rubbing the back of his head in an awkward fashion.
Just then, Rocky walked in with Gajeel and Levy at her sides. "We've got your girl right here," Gajeel said with a grin. Rocky just rolled her eyes at that. "Go on and do what you gotta do." Gajeel and Levy let go of their daughter's arms and she instantly tried to make a beeline for the door.
A quick bright bolt of lightning flashed before her eyes. The lighting bolt was soon replaced by the figure of Laxus. "Should've guessed," he said folding his arms.
Rocky clicked her tongue. "Whatever. Not like I give a crap what you think, old man."
"Old man?" Laxus' eyebrow twitched at that. "I'm only thirty-four years old…" He was doing his best to contain his progressively building vexation at this girl in front of him, but it was proving to be a most difficult task.
"No, you're forty-one."
"A lot of lost seven years of our lives, okay? I'm still only in my thirties," Laxus told her in a stern voice.
"Nah, you're forty-one."
"How dare you speak to Laxus that way!" Freed chimed in drawing his sword. "You insolent little brat! Shall I teach you a lesson?!"
"Hey now, buddy, let's not doing anything rash now, okay? Bickslow said, resting a hand on Freed's shoulder.
"But she must be taught a lesson!" Freed declared, ready to lunge for Rocky.
"Quick, hold him back!" Evergreen shouted out as she wrapped her arms around Freed along with Bickslow.
"Unhand me!"
"No way, man! You're freaking out way too much."
"You can't harm their daughter," Evergreen reminded him.
"I don't know," Gajeel said rubbing his chin. "I think the kid needs to be taught a lesson the hard way."
"Gajeel!" Levy pulled on the cuff of Gajeel's shirt as she chided him.
"I agree," Laxus said with a nod before letting his arms fall to his side. "And I think I know just the thing."
"Yeah? And what's that?" Gajeel asked with curiosity.
Lyon walked into his house, still retaining his solemn expression from when he visited Fairy Tail. It was largely aqua blue in color with some hints of cerulean to give its shading an extra bit of depth. Some plotted plants were lined up against the windows, underneath which stood a fireplace. And atop the fireplace…sat a picture of a young boy with snow white hair. A peaceful, elegant smile was captured on the picture as he held a medal in his hand, striking a victory pose.
Lyon walked over to the picture and picked it up. As he held it up, a small heartfelt smile crossed over his face as his old memories began to break open like a floodgate. And in conjunction with that, tears started to stream down his face. "I miss you…my baby boy." The tears fell from Lyon's eyelashes as they continued to paint the picture.
Character Bio: Rocky Redfox
Age: 8
Parents: Gajeel and Levy Redfox
Magic: Iron Dragon Slayer Magic
Likes: Punk Rock music, singing, staying up late
Dislikes: Rules, waiting, uptight people
AN: Feel like I need to address. For those who are super big fans of the GaLe ship and might think I don't like it because of how I made their kid. Don't worry, I don't dislike it at all, trust me. I just didn't want the kids to be just "that ship's kid". I wanted them all to have their own characters and flaws. And because of that sometimes there's going to be strife with the parents and not always sweet moments. I mean heck, I made the child of my favorite ship straight up steal in the last chapter. And you can be sure that will be addressed, so yeah. Rocky just ended up being the one with the most problematic personality of the seven.
Just wanted to clarify that. Hope it doesn't bother people to much and that you all understand.
