05 I want her

Everyone watched in awe with their mouths wide open on the floor as a certain raven haired lad walked in. Everyone couldn't believe their eyes. Literally. He walked in so casually with his hands in his pockets like he had walked inside the place everyday of his life.

But the thing is, he didn't.

Natsume Hyuuga had never set his foot inside the cafeteria the whole life he had been inside the academy. And everyone knew that.

Is the world gonna end today? Is he sick? Or is he going to die soon so he can finally tick one off from his bucket list of '100 things to do before I died'?

Everyone's mind was whirling wild. Their food suddenly left untouched. People all of sudden stopped walking and turned to watch the male phenomena made his way towards a certain table just on the left side of the cafeteria where one person had leisurely occupied it. Things were getting more interesting by the seconds.

His undoubtedly surprising presence in the cafeteria was enough to be the sole reasons of thousands questions, now people couldn't help but feel more deadly curious when Natsume Hyuuga pulled out a chair and sat across the other occupant of the table.

The cafeteria turned silent.

A certain blonde closed his book and paid attention too to the scene folded infront of him. Regarding his best friend's presence inside the cafeteria today, he wasn't at all surprised, the least of course. He could already guessed Natsume intended to do something since he actually surprised the blonde kaichou a little when he asked him questions about the new kid yesterday evening. They are best friend after all. He didn't not know Natsume for just a few weeks. They had been best friends since they knew how to chew shoelaces in kindergarten. Natsume had never been the one to show interest in other people, let alone seek answers for the questions regarding them. So everything meant something when it concerned Natsume Hyuuga. He wouldn't ask if he doesn't really want to know.

And now, him being inside the cafeteria where he swore he would never lay his foot inside, risking him pride and throwing aside his ego, if he went to that extent, it meant he wanted something. Really bad.

Ruka looked at his friends who shared the same table as him. He reached out and closed Koko's gaping mouth and flicked Kitsu's head. They both turned to look at him with their eyes blinking rapidly. Ruka laughed.

"Yes, what you see is real. We are humbly graced with Natsume Hyuuga's presence in this wretched cafeteria, my dear civilians."

They wiped their eyes and turned back to where Natsume had comfortably sat.

"This is fucking unbelievable," Kitsu muttered. With the help of his forefingers, he opened his eyes really wide this time to make sure what he saw wasn't really a mind game.

Koko on the other hand, had stood up and make a telescope out of his hands to get a better view of the whole thing. "Is Natsume dying?" He looked at Ruka and received a dismissive eye rolls.

"Hey it's possible! That Hyuuga swore he would never set his foot inside this place. Only people know they're dying doing the opposite thing!" Koko retorted.

Yuu came and joined them. He placed his tray of food on the table and sat down next to Koko. His eyes too glued on Natsume. "Is Natsume dying?" he wrinkled his forehead worriedly.

Koko jumped in defense. "Hah see! Even Yuu's thinking the same thing as me!" He shrugged like he had finally solved the whole mystery. "So it's possible if Yuu also thinking about it. I mean come on, if you don't count my thoughts as something, at least count Yuu's in. He's smarter than all of us combined."

Ruka did put an extra effort to roll his eyes properly this time. He pulled the end of Koko's shirt down. "Just sit down, dumbass. None of your philosophy words should be taken into consideration ever."

Koko made a snicker sound and sat down. He took his apple and bit it down, munching as hard as he can while watching his friend on the other side of the cafeteria. Yuu sat motionlessly. He had both his hands under his chin, watching and analyzing in silent. "What could Natsume possibly want with the new kid?"

Ruka smiled. Yuu sees something. Totally expected from a guy with a brain. Though he admitted he wasn't as smart as Yuu, he couldn't be as bad and dumb as the two idiots sitting beside him combined. Though he did wonder how these two friends of his managed to pass all of their papers. Ruka shrugged his shoulders and took a bit of his chicken sandwich. "Possibly something worthy. If not, he won't be inside this sacred place." He too, joined his three friends, watching what happened on the other side of the cafeteria.

. . .

They stayed silent. No words yet uttered from both sides. Youichi raised one eyebrow at the person sitting in front of him. He didn't say anything still. Youichi scowled. "Who the hell are you?"

Natsume tilted one of his brows in return, mirroring the kid. Sharp tongue. No attitude. Rude.

"Hyuuga," he replied shortly. "Youichi Hijiri?" he addressed him back. Though he already knew he is. It was just for formality anyway.

The kid leaned in and placed both his hands on the table neither saying yes nor shook his head. He looked around before finally settling his gaze back on Natsume. "You're quite somebody in this academy." People dropped whatever they were doing and paid full attention to him. He noticed that.

Natsume smirked. Sharp eyes. "Sort of."

Youichi leaned back against his seat again. He placed his arms behind his head this time. He stared at Natsume, signaling him to drop whatever his intention is on the table already. His face held no expression but he was calmed and yet annoyed at the same time. As much as he didn't like the attention they were getting from the whole breathing human beings inside the place, he couldn't just ignore it. This wasn't as simple as ignoring a few people's glances and stares like he usually did. The air was thick and too intense. He couldn't just choke it down easily. Playing ignorant didn't really suit the entire scene this time.

Another smirk crept the corner of Natsume's lips. His crimson eyes glistened. He leaned forward and this time, mirroring what Youichi had done before. He placed both his hands on the table like he was engaging in a serious business conversation. "The brunette who you waited for in front of the school gates," he saw the look on Youichi's face changed. "Who is she?"

Youichi's face turned dark. He raised down his hands and straightened his back. "Why? What do you want from her?" his voice turned protective and dangerously low.

That changed somehow sparked an interest in Natsume. Finally, a real reaction from him. He poked him at the right spot. "You don't want to tell me who she is?"

"Why the fucking hell would I tell you? What the hell do you want from her?" Youichi growled. He already fisted his hands. His patience was slowly draining out.

Natsume hardened his crimson gaze. He might as well get straight to the point. No need to play words here anymore. He looked straight in Youichi's eyes and slowly dropped the words out. "I want her."

In just a second the room was in total shock when Youichi suddenly kicked back his chair, releasing a loud screeching sound and in a speed of light, leaned across the table and grabbed for Natsume's collar. It was clear to everyone that Youichi was furious to whatever Natsume had said. Nobody could guess why for they weren't in the hearing distance.

"She's not a stuff you can fucking own, Hyuuga," Youichi hissed. He tightened his hold on the collar. "I don't care who you are, you can't have her."

Natsume wasn't the least bit surprised or shocked by Youichi's reaction. It was what he expected, better actually. It clearly meant he had rubbed it on the perfect spot. The kid really blew up. Now he just needed to know what their relationship is.

"What, is she yours? Does she belong to you?" Natsume continued without a hint of fear at all. As if he's provoking him.

"Watch your fucking mouth, Hyuuga." Youichi warned him threateningly. His grasp had gotten tighter. His patience was at its limit.

"Are you sleeping around with her?" Natsume pressed more. He needed to know.

And that had done it. Youichi's hand balled into a fist and he swung it hard and straight to Natsume's face, shocking everyone in presence. Natsume lost his cool and fell on the floor. Blood dripped from the corner of his lips. He wiped the blood and staring at it, he chuckled. He stood up and wiped his stained bloody hand on his shirt.

"So this is how you man up huh?"

A look of disbelief crossed Youichi's face for a second before it changed to a disgusted look. "So that's how you man up? Sleeping around with whoever girls you want? You've got no balls, Hyuuga."

In just a split second, Natsume moved so fast nobody had seen what had happened. They only realized a second after that when Youichi staggered back a step and his nose was dripping with blood. He didn't look so happy about it.

"Watch what you said, Hijiri." Natsume growled then shrugged like he had not just punched the kid on his nose. "Why aren't you telling me what your relationship with her anyway?"

Youichi chuckled darkly before spitting a blood out from his mouth. Shit, I cracked a tooth. "For what? So you could have a go on her? You're shameless, Hyuuga."

This time, Natsume lurched forward and went for a grab on Youichi's collar. His face grew serious and hard. "Listen kid, did I mention anything about wanting to sleep with her?" He shook the collar roughly. "I only asked you IF YOU'RE THE ONE who's sleeping with her."

"Why does it bother you so much if I'm sleeping with her or not? It's none of your damn business." Youichi spat out.

Natsume's grip became harder, nearly choking Youichi in the process. "It becomes my damn fucking business because I want her!"

Youichi blinked his eyes in disbelief. Man, this guy is serious.

. . .

Koko shook Ruka's shoulder roughly. His eyes did not leave the shocking two. "Kaichou, I think we've seen enough. Maybe this is the right moment for you to step in and detangle them."

Yuu nodded his head in agreement. "That's one punch from both sides. If another one flew, this will become principal's matter. Get it stop before this leads to principal's office, kaichou."

Ruka smacked Koko's hands away. "Just give Natsume a little more time. I don't think five minutes enough for him to get his answers to his questions."

Kitsu became frantic like the rest of the students. They kept looking at their kaichou, asking for help. Kitsu's distressed hands wailing in the air. "The hell five minutes isn't enough?! Stop it before it became really serious! Fucking hell Ruka, you're the kaichou! You're supposed to stop this kind of thing! Not to urge them!"

Ruka ignored it totally and continued to eat his chicken sandwich. Actually, he was quite concerned but he knew Natsume. He would get his own way even if his best friend is the academy kaichou. Come on, Natsume. I'm giving you more time here.

"Fucking hell, Ruka!" Kitsu cursed and grabbed for Ruka's blonde hair making the poor blonde winced. His eyes were wide when he saw the two had finally resolved down to punching each other non-stop like a sack of rice. "Ruka, go and stop it! Natsume's face is one of our main assets! If that kid broke Natsume's nose, we'll never have another extreme good looking pole in our band again!"

Koko on the other hand, nearly ripped Ruka's uniform. That dumb guy repeatedly tugged at his shirt with his annoying voice repeatedly said, "Kaichou, Natsume's gonna kill the kid! They're punching each other like mad man now. Come on man, go and stop it!"

He was assaulted by both sides and by both of his friends. Yuu just laughed looking at Ruka's distraught annoyed face. He wiped a tear out of his eye. "I think seven minutes is enough, Ruka. You really have to stop them. Or else, I think you're going to experience a pain later on. Mentally and physically." He motioned for the two dumb jocks on both Ruka's side and chuckled.

"Alright then." Ruka finally nodded. "Straight punches so we're taking this to the principal's office." Ruka detangled Kitsu's hands from his hair and smacked Koko's hands away from his shirt. He stood up. He threw a look at his three friends.

The three looked at him with 'whaaat?' expression clearly played on their faces. Ruka rolled his blue eyes at them. "You don't expect me alone can break those two away? I might get punched in the middle of them."

"You're a guy. So?" Koko mumbled stupidly.

Yuu laughed and stood up. He pulled Koko and Kitsu too. Koko mumbled incoherent words and followed them with Kitsu tailing them from behind, all the while muttering about ruining the band's asset.

. . .

Mikan was in the girls' changing room. They had finished their P.E and now were changing their clothes. Her phone, which she stored in her locker, suddenly rang. She quickly rummaged through her jumble of stuff inside the small space and grabbed for her phone. She groaned when she saw the name popped on her phone screen.

"Yes, Mikan Sakura speaking." She tried to make her voice as sweet as possible.

"Mikan. This is your uncle." A deep baritone voice came on the other line.

"Yes uncle Kazumi. I know." Of course she would know. She saved his office number in her god-forsaken phone! "To what do I own this pleasure of you calling me during school hours?" her sweet voice attempt failed miserably. Both sides knew she wasn't the least bit excited or happy hearing the man's voice.

"I can't reach your father."

"He's in Perth I think. He'll be back in next two days. Is anything the matter?"

Then something crossed her mind. "Did something happen to You-chan?"

She heard the man gave out a tired sigh before speaking again. "Youichi got involved in a fight."

"Fucking what?!" she yelled to the phone, surprising some of her friends around her a little. She waved the phone to them, signaling them that she was on the phone.

"Mikan, sweetheart, you know how I feel about your cursing," Kazumi's tired voice reminded her.

"And you know I don't give a damn about it, Uncle."

The man sighed again. Unknowing to the brunette, the man was massaging his temple repeatedly in his office. A nephew of his got involved in a serious fight and a niece of his refused to acknowledge him as an uncle again after that happened. How can he not grow bald? He thought his hair was growing thinner each day.

"I can't reach your dad so I'll need you to come to my office. I'll call your principal for special permission to leave. I'll send someone to fetch you."

"I'll come by myself." Then the line went dead.

Kazumi breathed out heavily. She hanged up on him. When will this ever end? She even refused his help to fetch her. His niece's temper had not died out yet. And certainly, her raven-haired best friend's revenge lived till this day, he suddenly remembered. He smiled. He rather enjoyed how Hotaru's face crinkled with disgust when he talked to her. If Mikan has a sharp tongue, Hotaru's was barbed. It kinda amused him. The kid cursed affection as much as she cursed him now.

Hatred is a cruel thing.
