2006

"I can't believe you talked me into this."

Milly said laughing with Geneva, wearing her short silk plum robe, nervously standing in front of her garage. Eric was at the autism school coaching a basketball game. Geneva's husband Andy was at work, and this whole afternoon in mid July was Geneva's idea. It all began when Milly had her over for lunch while Eric was outside working on his bike. Milly complained that Eric's birthday was coming, and she honestly couldn't think of what to get him. Instantly Geneva glanced out the window at Eric, kneeling in his blue jeans, and his white T-shirt with his sleeves rolled up as he worked on his bike. Instantly she snapped her fingers while sipping on a chilled glass of wine.

"I got it!"

Milly, sitting across from her at the breakfast nook table, cocked her head as she sipped on her own drink.

"What?"

Geneva giggled, before she pointed out the window.

"We do a photoshoot. I'll use my camera! My coworker Glen's wife can help me develop them. She blew up those photos of my cousin's wedding that I gave her for Christmas. She gave me the idea. She did a little photoshoot for her husband for their anniversary. I saw the photos...hello!"

Milly chuckled confused.

"What kind of photoshoot?"

Geneva chucked her finger at the window. Milly looked out and saw Eric working on his bike.

"We wait until later this week when he's at work. I have the whole week off because I need to use up my vacation days. We'll do it in the morning. You pick out your sexiest bikini, and we'll do a photo shoot out by the garage so nobody can see us, and you can pose around his bike. He'll love it!"

Milly felt her cheeks blush as her eyes widened and she laughed and gasped.

"Geneva!"

Geneva cracked up.

"I'm serious. You wanna do something special. Sure you guys go out to dinner, and rent out the cabin where you spend your honeymoon on your birthdays...but don't you wanna do something private and just for him."

"Doesn't sound private! You'll see them! Your co-worker! Maybe even the neighbors!"

"Who? Like Mr. Henry who lives behind you guys? He's eighty-five years old and can barely see. Besides, if he happens to look out the window, you can give him a little show."

Milly shut her eyes, leaning against her chair cracking up. Geneva laughed with her, and finally after a few minutes they calmed down. Finally Geneva smiled and looked at her.

"Listen, I know you guys have been having trouble trying to get pregnant, and I know with the miscarriages it's been a lot. Between your book, and finishing up this house finally, and the drama still going on with your mother...I think you deserve to have a little fun with your husband. You two have been crazy about each other since you moved here. You turned Eric from that weird kid that used to sit outside his bedroom window pretending to fly to that handsome piece of eye candy out there. I mean...he is good looking, and so are you! So show off that body a little bit! Feel sexy about yourself and have fun. Trust me, he'll love them."

Milly sat back holding her drink and thinking before glancing out the window and watching Eric continue working on the bike. Slowly she smiled. Now a few days later, she found herself standing in front of Eric's bike, which they pushed out of the garage together slowly and carefully. Eric had taken Milly's car to the school since he had some tools with him he needed to drop off to a friend of his who needed to borrow them for a project who taught at the school. Milly knew this in advance, and asked Geneva if this day worked best? Milly in typical fashion had gotten up at the same time as Eric. They showered, she did her hair as he shaved, they dressed, then went downstairs and ate breakfast. By the time he had to leave, loading up the bags of tools into the backseat of her car. Eric had signed asking if she needed anything since he was going to run errands after the game? Milly smiled, standing up on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek, before wrinkling her nose and saying no, that she was just planning on cleaning up a little then working on a little bit of writing. Eric kissed her, signed that he would cook dinner tonight, and got into her car and backed out of the driveway. Once the car was down the street, Milly ran inside to call Geneva. For the first half an hour Geneva did her hair and makeup which made Milly feel ridiculous. She put Milly's hair in curlers, before pinning her hair up. She then painted her lips a dark red, and made her eyes smoky. Milly, who never wore this much makeup couldn't believe how she looked.

After that, Milly quickly went into the bathroom, before changing into her black bikini she only wore whenever she was alone with Eric in the hottub. She picked this once because it was Eric's favorite. She changed, looking at herself in the bathroom mirror before blushing and grabbing her plum colored robe hanging off the hook on the back of the door. Once she came out, Geneva led her outside, and that's where they opened the garage and slowly pushed Eric's bike out. Now that everything was in position, Milly at first hesitated about taking the robe off since she was afraid somebody might see, even though both of their neighbors on each side were all at work, and their children at summer camp. Finally she slid the robe off, as Geneva snapped a few practice photos, making sure the light was right, before directing Milly. She finally started to loosen up a bit, as Geneva and her laughed through the whole thing. There was one where she straddled the bike, leaning against it, and holding the handle bars. A few of her sitting on the bike to the side, wearing black high heels she dug out of her closet. She then took a few of her standing with her arms up over her head, her hands plunging into her hair, By the time they were done, Milly felt giddy with excitement.

They ended up pushing the bike back, before Milly hugged Geneva, actually excited and thanked her for such a great idea. Afterwards she showered and changed, and couldn't stop thinking about how wild and free she felt posing, dressed all up, when in reality she dressed pretty plain. That night Eric cooked spaghetti, and both ate in the kitchen splitting a bottle of wine. Eric ate his spaghetti without sauce as usual. The whole time Milly had to keep biting the insides of her cheeks from smiling, thinking about the surprise she had for him. It killed her with childish excitement that she had to wait until December first to give it to him.

December 1st 2006

It was Eric's birthday. In typical tridation, ever since they got married, they now rented out the cabin that they spent their honeymoon in. They would do this every December and June for their birthdays and of course anniversary. Both were spending the weekend there, and it was late that night. Both had a pretty good fire going in the fireplace, and Milly and Eric toasted on the sofa in front of it. Milly smiled, staring at her husband, unable to believe he was actually real. He still looked exactly like the same Eric she first laid eyes on sitting outside his bedroom window. But now he was mature, and even more handsome. His face wasn't as round, and his hair was cut short. She remembered a few years back when he sported a goatee. She remembered how sexy she thought it was, or when they were in college and his hair was actually the longest it had ever been, nearly touching his shoulders. But today his hair was cut short. His jawline sharp, but those brown eyes still the same. The same eyes she fell in love with. He smiled at her, before setting down his glass and signing...

"This was the best birthday ever. Thank you so much. I love you."

Milly smiled. Their day had been pretty uneventful. They had traveled up the night before and got settled. Today they went for a walk, bundled up in their winter jackets, and actually saw a baby deer in the forest. They took the car to the small town up in the mountains where the cabin was located, and ended up having a nice peaceful dinner together. Once they got back, Milly had a carrot cake already waiting for him that she picked up from his favorite barkey. She had the candles lit, and walked out carrying it while he was in the process of opening the wine. Instantly he rolled his eyes, laughing, before she sang happy birthday, and both ate two slices of the cake, before Milly leaned over, using her thumb to wipe some frosting that got on the corner of his mouth. He smiled, looking over and turning in her direction. She took the frosting and licked it off her thumb, before she set her plate down on the coffee table in front of them, and scooted over, and plucked his plate from his hands, setting it down, before leaning down and unzipping his fly and bowing her head. Eric instantly smiled, before he took deep breaths and tilted back his head.

Now less than an hour later, they had toasted again, before Milly made out with him for a little bit, running her hands through his hair and gently pulling, before she remembered what she had hid in her suitcase. Smiling, she pulled away and said she had a surprise for him. Quickly, she ran to the bedroom, unzipped her suitcase, and took them out. She had never been this nervous about giving him anything. Wired with excitement she hurried back, where he was waiting for her on the sofa. Smiling, she took a deep breath.

"Geneva helped me take these this past summer. I know it's super silly but..."

She knew she didn't have the words, she instead just sat down beside him, and handed over the 3 8x10 glossy framed colored photos she had of herself. One was of her straddling the bike. Another one was of her sitting sideways on the bike, and the last was of the one of her standing in front of her, hands up, plunging through her hair. Right away Eric stared down at all three, and his eyes widened. Milly nervously sat back chewing on her lip, before Eric looked up totally amazed. Instantly he signed very quickly and was very excited...

"You took these for me?!"

Milly laughed nervously. "Do you like them?' Eric gazed down, totally amazed at the prints, before he very carefully placed them on the table. Turning, Milly had never seen this kind of passion in Eric's eyes as he gently took hold of her shoulders, and gently pushed her down onto the sofa, his hands pushing up her shirt. His mouth devoured hers, as he pushed her back and began to frantically undress her. Those prints were now placed in the garage for Eric's eyes only. Milly thought it was hysterical he didn't have centerfolds of models like all of the other husbands in the neighborhood hanging in his garage. No, he kept his prints of Milly in his workbench in his garage, and claimed it was probably his most favorite possession.

Present

Milly was currently in the middle of one of the most mind blowing orgasms she had ever experienced. She noticed the further into the pregnancy she went, the more turned on she was getting. Ever since Dr. Weaver told them sex was perfectly safe, all bets were off. She laid beneath Eric, her legs wrapped around his waist as he grunted, his shoulder blades arching as he thrusted into her, Milly clutched onto his back, crying out as their bodies rocked back and forth in their bed. Milly tilted her head back, squirming as she continued feeling as if her entire body was made out of pins and needles.

That's when the doorbell rang.

Milly's eyes opened, her head still dazed from the pounding climax she was just coming down from. Eric froze mid thrust, before lifting his head, his face flushed and sweaty. He listened for a second, before unable to hold off as he snapped his eyes shut and cried out climaxing himself. Milly tensed up, before rolling her eyes frustrated that Eric had finished since she was hoping to continue riding the waves of this amazing love making session.

It was mid February, and last night was Valentine's Day. Eric had surprised Milly, by bringing her upstairs to her office, which had been off limits ever since New Years. He kept it locked, but she had seen him move all of the furniture from her office, into the spare room downstairs, then bringing in lumber, and paint cans. She had been curious, but he had made her promise she wouldn't snoop since it was a surprise. He had casually dropped a catalog in front of her one day which featured furniture for nurseries. He had handed her a black marker, and told her to be honest and circle whatever she liked. To not think about cost, and just circle whatever she liked and he would try to narrow it down himself. Milly thought this was crazy, but trusted Eric. Laughing, she spent the afternoon closely studying all kinds of different cribs, dressers, and changing tables. She couldn't help rolling her eyes at some of the prices, but humored Eric and circled whatever she liked. She had heard him use the sander one day, making sure she was downstairs and away from any sawdust or paint fumes. Finally one afternoon just a week ago Geneva came over and she told Milly she was on strict orders to keep her cooped up in her bedroom without going out for a few hours. Geneva brought a bunch of movies over to watch, her daughter being watched by her husband. She also brought pizza, which was something Milly had been craving lately.

They spent the day in bed, watching romantic movies, giggling like teenagers, and eating pizza. Finally Eric opened the door, giving Geneva the thumbs up, showing them it was all clear, but her old office...aka the new nursery was locked and off limits for the time being. Finally last night, after Milly surprised Eric with chocolates, and a new watch. She had gotten Geneva to go out shopping for her, and once Eric came home from work, he was completely blown away by the gifts. He made steaks for them, and afterwards he told her he had a surprise for her.

With that, he led her by the hand to her old office door, which used to be his childhood bedroom. He smirked at her, before digging into his pocket for his keys, before unlocking the door and flicking on the lights.

Milly stood in the doorway in complete awe.

The walls were painted a light baby blue. In fact, the ceiling was even painted, with clouds painted around to mimic the sky. The overhead light looked like the sun, and the floor was sanded down, and stained to hardwood. There was a dresser, with a lamp that resembled an owl and moon. There was a rocking chair, changing table, and strung up on clear wire hanging all around the room were tiny wooden airplanes, or cloth kites. Milly slowly stepped in, before looking straight ahead. There was a white crib right in front of the window Eric used to climb out of all the time. The mobile were tiny little cloth clouds, stars, and moons. Milly stood in the center of the nursery, smelling the fresh paint, and cleanness of the new remodeled room. She stood there looking at every detail. Eric had even painted little birds across the wall. Looking at the blue and white curtains, framed around the window where she had first laid eyes on Eric, she slowly turned around and stared at her husband who nervously smiled in the doorway. He signed...

"Do you like it?"

Milly saw all of her books, hardcovers were stacked on the dresser as well, along with a stuffed baby owl. Her heart hammered in her chest, before her eyes filled with tears. She laughed, before rushing right towards Eric, and throwing her arms around him, kissing him deeply, and hugging him with all her might. It was absolutely perfect for their little boy. Since then, they had been in the bedroom celebrating. As soon as they woke up, Eric having taken today off to spend the day with Milly, both had started having sex.

Now, just as Eric collapsed against her, having just climaxed. Milly rolled her eyes, annoyed as the doorbell rang again, then suddenly the sound of the front door opening, and her brother's voice calling out...

"Milly? Eric? You guys home?"

Eric whipped his head up and looked at Milly surprised.

He signed...

"I thought he was stationed in Texas?!"

Milly's eyes widened as well, before she shrugged.

"He must have used his key, get off quick!"

Eric pulled out of her, being careful, before hurrying to grab his boxers, and sweats. Milly quickly grabbed one of Eric's baggy T-shirts, as well as her robe.

She heard Luis again...

"Milly?"

"Hold on Luis! We're coming down!"

Both Eric and Milly frantically dressed, Eric grabbed a T-shirt off the ground, as Millie tied her robe, and fixed her hair. She saw what a mess Eric's hair was, and laughed, shaking her head, before she walked out with him, and both started for the stairs. Eric stopped her, brow wrinkling before he signed...

"Take the stairs slow."

Milly nodded, as he took her hand, gently squeezing it, before together they made it down the stairs, and found Luis standing in the kitchen doorway, holding a box of cereal and eating out of it. Instantly he lit up seeing them.

"Hey guys! Were you two still asleep?"

Milly eyed Eric, before walking towards her brother and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"What's up Lou? I thought you were stationed in Dallas?"

"I'm on leave for the next few days, crashing with mom and Garry. Wanted to swing by and see you guys. Sorry I didn't call!"

Since this was a typical habit of Luis, Milly hugged her brother, before cocking her head to the side.

"It's great to see you."

Luis had grown into a handsome tall guy, with thick black hair that reminded her of her late father's. She enjoyed her visits from her brother, who she kept in touch via email most of the time, but sometimes Luis' arrivals weren't always the best planned. Years ago, shortly after Eric and Milly got married, Luis came over while the two were fooling around on the downstairs sofa. Milly honestly thought she was going to die of embarrassment, while Luis found it hysterical. Luis turned towards Eric and smiled.

"Hey Eric! How you doing?!"

Eric smiled, having always gotten along with Luis ever since they were kids. He smiled, before Luis gave him a hug as well. Milly then remembered, before her eyes lit up and she grabbed her brother's hand, and pulled him towards the stairs.

"Oh my God! I have to show you the nursery!"

The two started to hurry towards the stairs, when she heard Eric try to call after her.

"M-Milly."

Both Luis and Milly froze having started up the stairs, before Milly turned to look down at Eric who was frowning and signed firmly...

"Take the stairs slow!"

Milly smirked, before nodding. "Always honey." She slowed down, going up the stairs with Luis, as they passed several framed photos of Eric and Milly throughout the years, one being their wedding photo.

Later...

The three of them sat at the breakfast table eating breakfast. Eric made them pancakes, so Milly and Luis could catch up while he cooked. Luis had loved the nursery, and as always was amazed at what Eric could actually do. He always joked that for a guy who never took woodshop in high school, he sure knew how to build something. He seemed a little puzzled over the theme of the nursery, before Milly laughed and said it was the sky, because of her books. Meanwhile deep down inside she knew the real reason, and couldn't love it enough. Eric brought them their plates, and ate as Luis told them about his latest girlfriend, the guys in his squad, and what the bars and weather was like in Texas. Eric ate silently, but listened, and even laughed at a few of Luis' crazy stories. Finally Luis, who was in the middle of chewing, looked down at Milly and smiled.

"How are you and my future nephew feeling?"

Milly smiled, her bump clearly showing from beneath her robe. She smiled warmly looking down.

"Good. Doctor said everything looks fine, I just need to stay on bedrest."

Luis, who knew about their struggles to have a baby, softly smiled and nodded.

"That's great. Keep him cooking."

Milly smiled before she motioned over to him.

"He's kicking. You wanna feel?"

Luis reached over carefully and felt, before his eyes lit up.

"Holy shit! He's a feisty little jumping bean huh?"

Milly laughed, looking down at herself.

"He sure is."

"Got any names picked out?"

Milly looked over at Eric who smiled at her, finishing up his breakfast, before she nodded.

"As a matter of fact we do. Marshall."

Luis lit up.

"That's awesome! Marshall Gibb sounds like some powerful general or something."

Milly laughed, before Luis pushed back his chair, and offered to take their plates to the sink.

As he did so, he casually said...

"Garry says hi."

Milly smirked.

"Any news with her?"

Luis placed the plates into the sink before turning.

"Her who?"

Milly made a face before Luis rolled his eyes and shrugged.

"Oh you know her. Typical ice queen. Thank God for Garry honestly. Last night when I came in I got drilled with the third degree. She keeps saying how I'm never going to settle down and start a family, and how I should think about the future and how it's only a matter of time before 'this military' thing ends. I swear she needs to take the piss out of everything."

Milly nodded, shaking her head.

"Sounds about right. She say anything about me?"

Luis made another face, before Milly sat up straight. Eric was finishing up his coffee and glanced over at her. Luis sighed before shaking his head.

"She made a few nasty comments, which I told her was insanely insensitive, and she said if I didn't like what she said I could go stay at a motel. Lucky for Garry he broke it up before it got bad."

"First off, if you ever need to stay someplace you know you can crash here...second what did she say?"

Luis sighed and shook his head.

"Just dumb bullshit."

Milly suddenly became serious. She knew her brother well enough to know whatever their mother said was bad. Looking straight at her brother, she glared.

"Luis. What did she say?"

Luis looked uncomfortable, and as if he instantly regretted bringing this up. He leaned against the counters, and crossed his arms.

"Well, I told her that I would be swinging by to see you guys since I know you're on bedrest...and she made this dumb comment that she just hoped..."

His words trailed off for a second, before his eyes drifted down to the floor. Taking a second, he shrugged again and shook his head.

"She said she just hoped you wouldn't lose this baby too. That you're nearly forty and should start thinking of the risks involved."

Milly had a feeling there was probably more to this, but saw Eric glancing in her direction worried. Knowing if she showed she was upset in front of him, he might get upset himself, or with Luis for telling her this. Instead, he pushed down this sudden wave of emotion she felt bubbling up inside of her. Instead, she faked a smile and rolled her eyes. "Well thank you for defending my honor. So, tell me more about this girlfriend." Luis smiled and headed back to the table.

Later...

Luis spent the rest of the morning hanging out with them, until finally he said he had to go see a few friends. He hugged them goodbye, smiling as he rubbed Milly's stomach, and promised to swing by tomorrow. Milly ended up going back upstairs, claiming she was going to shower while Eric did the dishes and cleaned up. Afterwards, Milly dressed, and went into the nursery. Eric came upstairs a little bit later, and gently pushed the door open, finding her sitting in the rocking chair, sadly looking off into space. Eric looked worried, before he entered and signed...

"Are you okay?"

Milly sadly smiled, gently rocking back and forth before she nodded.

"Yeah."

Eric, knowing her better than anyone, walked in, an eyebrow raised, before he signed...

"It's what Luis said about your mom isn't it?"

Milly wanted to lie to him, but knew that she couldn't. Shrugging, she sat back and looked up at him.

"I through with her, and she's through with me. I've made peace with that for years. It's just...this is her grandchild. I don't expect her to suddenly be a changed person. I really don't think I would even let her be part of his life, but the fact is she can't even just wish us well. Instead, as always she thinks that us starting a family is the biggest mistake in the world and that God is punishing us by me losing all of them. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it sounds like she almost wants this pregnancy to fail. I swear, I shouldn't say this but...sometimes I wish it was my dad who was still alive. At least I know he would have been happy for us."

Milly hated that she couldn't control it any longer. She bowed her face, before her shoulders sagged, and she began to sob. In less than a second, Eric was squatting down in front of her as tears rolled down her face. She tried to speak but found she couldn't. Instead these crazy pregnancy hormones made her start sobbing uncontrollably. Eric gently lifted her chin, as she continued crying. His eyes were serious. He made her look at him, before he signed...

"To Hell with her! All that matters is that we're happy. Remember that. I'm not going to let anything happen to you two. I promise."

Milly felt her chest hitch as big fat tears rolled down her face. Sniffling, she stared at him, all the while feeling the baby frantically kick inside of her. She stared at him before finally she saw he had enough. Shaking his head, he signed...

"We're going back to bed. Come on."

Milly tried to say something, but she couldn't seem to be able to stop crying. Eric stood, before he reached down and scooped Milly up bridal style, before carrying her out of their future son's room, and into their own bedroom. He laid her down gently on the bed, before looking down at her. He was still frowning, and looking more than a little worried. Milly knew she needed to calm down quickly or Eric might tell her that it was Luis that had upset her, and might not think it was such a great idea if he swung by tomorrow. Sniffling, she rolled her eyes.

"Pregnancy hormones. Sorry honey. I'm okay. You just know how she drives me crazy. I'm okay really."

She sniffled, wiping her eyes, trying to show him she was fine. She even forced a smile, before Eric sat down on the edge of the bed, gently scooting her over a little. He sighed, his lip pouting out his lip, before he signed...

"Do you need anything? Are you sure you're okay?"

Milly nodded, wiping her eyes again.

"Yeah I'm good. Come on, let's cuddle."

She pulled on his arm, before Eric leaned down, gently placing his ear to her stomach, and listening. All the while, Milly found herself slowly starting to smile as she stroked his hair.

September 1988

Milly hated that the only two classes she would have with Eric this year was gym, and study hall. She was frustrated since she figured Mrs. Sherman would have had a little pull in this matter, but as soon as their schedules were mailed to them, just a few days before school began, she sighed, feeling a strange worried pit in her stomach. It was just two days left of what Milly felt was the most important summer of her life. Not only did she nearly die, but she had gone all the way with Eric, and officially knew he was the love of her life. She had nearly lost Eric with his appendix, and had noticed how much progress he was making. She didn't want it to end despite the trauma. It had been endless warm days of carefree fun, even though she worked part time for Mrs. Sherman, and continued to help Uncle Hugo out, even though Eric was really doing wonderful around the house.

There were countless memories she had documented in her journal she kept hidden underneath her mattress. Memories of endless days in the park with Eric, going to the mall with Geneva, watching movies with Luis as Max laid between them, getting driving lessons with Garry, double dating with Alex and Geneva, fooling around with Eric in his attic, and of course the flying. They had done it a total of nine times that summer, always careful, and always at night. Milly compared it to when she first started to experience pleasure. She loved the feeling of holding Eric's hand and feeling weightless. Her hair blowing back as they zoomed over the neighborhood, then city. Usually they walked out to the woods to do this so they wouldn't be spotted, and Milly would look down at the passing trees and lakes in complete wonder. It was the best feeling in the world, feeling the cool air hit her face, as she laughed with Eric, and ventured up to the clouds. She liked school, but knew it would go back to her usual routine of trying to keep up with her grades, as well as her usual responsibilities of looking after Eric. Garry was a huge help, but he worked the same hours as her mom, so that meant she still had to help out with the cooking a few nights a week, as well as the cleaning. Thankfully Garry had gotten her mom to ease up on her, claiming that Milly was a teenager, and should be able to enjoy herself, mostly on the weekends. There was still slight tension with her mom, but it went unspoken. Milly dreaded another ten months of this, but she knew there was plenty to look forward to. She wanted to continue watching Eric grow into his own person, as well as get her license, and actually enjoy herself with her boyfriend.

She had gone to the mall earlier with Geneva to buy a few new clothes using some of her birthday money. Geneva had complained that Milly was lucky she went to public school and didn't have to wear some stupid uniform. They shopped for a few hours, and Milly had to remind Geneva that she didn't like to dress crazy with super bright colors, and just got a few new jeans, blouses, and a few tights and a red skirt. She also got some new plastic hair clips, and bracelets. She knew Uncle Hugo had taken Eric a week or so ago to get some new clothes, as well as another haircut from Ms. Winchester. Milly was slightly disappointed since she was really starting to like Eric's hair getting a little longer, since it was wavy and thick. Still, he looked really cute when he came back home to show her. She was now spending her last full night of summer up in the attic with Eric. Uncle Hugo was down the street at a poker game, and the two of them had ventured down to Skips, before heading back to his house. Milly had looked over Eric's schedule, which was hanging by a magnet on the fridge. She had sat at the kitchen table as he made paper airplanes before sighing. She figured the therapy classes would be good for him, as well as the speech one. She had finally explained to Eric that they weren't going to have that many classes together, but it wouldn't be a big deal. Eric frowned as she compared her schedule to his, before reminding him they would have gym together, study hall, and of course lunch everyday. Eric pouted, before Milly smiled and brushed her knuckles against his cheek.

"Listen, it's no big deal. It's just a couple of hours. We'll go to and from school together, and you'll see me in the hallways. You just can't follow me, or throw any fits in your own classes. You need to listen. I know you don't like people watching you...but you gotta try. Do it for me okay?"

Eric stared down at the several paper airplanes he made, before he nodded sadly. Softly smiling, Milly leaned in and kissed his cheek. Now less than an hour later, Eric and Milly laid together making out. U2 softly played off the radio as the Christmas lights hung over them. Their lips smacked, and Eric's hands slowly traveled up and down Milly's shirt, lifting it slightly and feeling her bare skin. He still really hadn't gotten the hold of unhooking her bra, so Milly smiled through their kiss, before reaching behind her and undoing it. She sat up slightly, before she pulled her shirt off, before letting her bra drop. Eric as always stared at her breasts in wonder, before he sat up as well and pulled his own T-shirt off, and over his head. Milly leaned in, and deeply kissed him, before pulling back. "I promise you, this is going to be our best school year yet." Eric pulled back slightly, before he looked deep in thought. He took a second before he slowly and carefully signed...

"I'm going to really try Milly. I just wish you would be with me."

Milly was beyond touched since he was really getting the hang of signing. Sure he stumbled, and made plenty of mistakes, but instead of just pointing, nodding, shaking his head, or motioning, he was really starting to get better at communicating. Instead of just sitting in silence, they actually were able to communicate. Milly of course didn't mind, but honestly wanted to know what was going on in that head of his. He had really been trying, and was getting better and better. She knew him going back to his classes and learning it everyday would help too. Smiling, she shook her head.

"I know, me too, but like I said you'll be okay. I promise."

Eric smirked, before Milly reached forward, running her fingers through his freshly cut hair before giggling.

"So? Wanna enjoy our last night of freedom?"

Eric smiled from ear to ear, before wrapping his arms around her and lowering her down to the blankets.

That Monday...

Eric and Milly stood together on the front lawn of school.. Buses and cars were lined up by the sidewalks, and crowds of people were gathered around in different groups catching up. Milly knew this was a lot for Eric, but when she offered his ear plugs which were in his pocket he shrugged and shook his head. She knew besides maybe the bell, he was probably going to be okay since he handled walking in these crowded hallways before.

He tightly squeezed her hand, as he stared up at the building. They had walked Luis to school who moaned and groaned about going, before the two of them continued on holding hands. Eric was dressed in a white T-shirt and jeans, and Milly was wearing jeans and a light pink short sleeve blouse. Her hair styled in a side ponytail. She had her new bookbag swung over her shoulder, and she hated to admit it, but she was feeling the strange flutter of nervousness. Still, holding Eric's hand made her feel better.

A few people walked by, saying hi to Eric and Milly. Milly waved, saying hi back, while Eric continued just staring up at the school. The bell rang, as everyone started making their way inside. Taking a deep breath Milly looked at Eric, before he looked over at her and smiled. The same smile he gave her the night of the Halloween dance when they first flew. Feeling at ease, she gave his hand a slight squeeze before she took a deep breath.

"Ready?"

Eric nodded, and both headed inside.
