Present
Milly was sitting in the living room, currently on her laptop, writing down a few notes for a new book idea she had been rolling around with throughout her pregnancy. She typed away, really liking where this was going. Eric was working out in the garage, and Milly had the radio playing softly. Ever since her baby shower a few weeks ago, she had really settled into a nice comfortable state. Geneva had claimed that this was the nesting period. The same exact thing she went through with her now three year old daughter Lucy. Just the other day Geneva had come over with her to pop in quickly, to see if Milly needed anything. Milly had to fully admit that her best friend had been amazing throughout everything. Over the years she had been nothing but supportive throughout Milly and Eric's struggles to get pregnant. She was always the only person that Milly felt comfortable enough to come on over right after she miscarried. In fact, last year when the last one happened, Milly had stayed in bed for days. Geneva ended up coming over, and Eric let her upstairs, where she simply crawled into bed, and reached over gently squeezing Milly's hand, before telling her how sorry she was. During this pregnancy, since it was so high risk, she had been a constant help, along with her husband Andy helping Eric and her out. The day after the shower, she had called Geneva up and told her about slamming the door in her mother's face.
"Do you think I did the right thing? I know she was maybe trying to bury the hatchet...but after everything that's happened...I can't just forget the last twenty two years haven't happened. Not with the baby coming. Is that wrong?"
Geneva laughed on the other side of the phone.
"No, not at all Milly. One thing I learned mostly dealing with my asshole brother Sonny is that even if they are related by blood and family...doesn't mean you have to love them and have them in your life. If they are toxic...as hard as it is...you gotta let them go."
Milly took that advice to heart because she knew Geneva did in fact know what she was talking about. Her brother, a local punk who used to hassle Luis all the time, ended up running into some legal issues shortly after graduating high school. He did odd jobs, got a girl pregnant, ended up getting into drugs, and even spent a little time in jail. Milly knew all the horror stories of him stealing from Geneva, fighting with her and Andy, and even once keying one of their cars when they wouldn't give him any more money. Geneva's parents had moved to Florida and left the house to her, which Andy and her fixed up, much like how Eric and Milly fixed up Uncle Hugo's house. Sonny had been left some money, but he blew it all, and kept demanding he deserved more since she got the house. In the end Geneva finally had a final falling out with him, and the last they heard, he was in New York city. Milly thought back on how bitter her mother became despite remarrying such a great easy going guy like Garry. What started as a mother simply worrying about her daughter, turned into her looking down on her relationship with the most important person in her life. She thought back on the call in the winter, that upset her so badly she started to bleed. Here she was just days before her due date, ready to become a mother herself, and she swore she would never judge who her son loved as long as he was safe and happy. Luis had called her from Texas where he was stationed again a few days after the baby shower, and didn't mention mom at all, so she figured all was well. Eric had asked her how she felt about it? And Milly simply shrugged.
Sadly any attachment she had to her mother was long gone. She would always love her in a way, and remember the good times they had...but sadly she knew she didn't have any regrets when it really came down to it. Her mother had made her choices, and even if she had come over to apologize, she didn't want to hear it. She was happy with her husband, and the person her mother always believed wasn't good enough for her. They were finally having the baby they wanted so badly, and she wanted to simply focus on that, and leave the past behind. Still, she silently prayed to her father to forgive her for officially cutting her mother out of her life, and to look after this baby, since she never believed she wanted something so badly before in her life. Last night she had a vivid nightmare where she was in the delivery room, and Dr. Weaver was calmly explaining to her that the baby was stillborn. She remembered in the dream desperately searching for Eric, but couldn't find him, before Dr. Weaver handed over a cold and lifeless baby for her to hold. When she snapped awake, she had cried out, and instantly woke Eric. Both were sleeping downstairs on the bed Eric had set up for her ever since her bedrest became more advanced. He turned over, snapping awake instantly, always on high alert whenever she cried out, and looked too uncomfortable. He knew she was close to her due date, and had slightly been on edge, always asking if something was wrong? Or if something hurts? Since Milly was so pregnant, it was hard to sleep, and to get comfortable. She felt like her stomach was massive, so Eric always brought extra pillows down to surround her, so she could lean on and put her weight against them.
The baby was always kicking, and doing flips, mostly resting on her bladder. She waddled when she walked, and even though it was just going to be April in a few days, Milly suffered from hot flashes, so Eric left the windows slightly open when they slept, never complaining once. He was constantly helping her, even when it came to slipping on her shoes, which seemed impossible with how big her belly was now. She really hadn't had any dreams she could remember, but this dream was bad, and the second she snapped awake, crying out, Eric was gently shaking her arm, his eyes wide in the darkness. He quickly signed...
"Are you okay? Is it time?"
Milly took a second, her eyes adjusting to the darkness of the living room. After a few seconds, she knew it had all been a dream, and that her baby was still very much alive, and moving inside of her. Her husband was here, and everything was fine. Taking a deep breath, her hands placed on her stomach feeling the baby move inside of her, she turned and looked at him.
"No, I'm okay. Just a really bad nightmare."
Eric raised an eyebrow staring at her. His lips looked pouty as he signed...
"Are you sure?"
Milly nodded and softly smiled, staring at him.
"Yeah, I'm fine...let me just look at you. Always makes me feel better."
Eric smiled, before he snuggled in closer, one hand reaching over and laying against her stomach. The baby continued to shift inside of her, before Milly sighed and smiled in the darkness at him.
"I can't wait to meet him. I hope he looks just like you."
Eric smiled, before leaning over and gently kissing Milly's forehead, before she sighed, and snuggled in close as her hand, and Eric's, continued touching her stomach, and making sure the baby they had made was still moving safely inside. Today, she had her laptop to her side, since her stomach was too big to balance it on. She typed away, smiling at how it was going. Today she was in a wonderful mood. Somehow despite the nightmare, that was the only bad thing that had happened in the last few weeks since the baby shower. The nursery was ready, and Eric had made sure everything was moved, and put into its place. Milly had her tiny bag packed for the hospital, and even Marshall's leaving the hospital outfit, which almost resembled a teddybear. Geneva had swooned over it, saying that it was absolutely perfect. Even though she was uncomfortable, since the baby seemed to crash her insides and ribs, and walking, or getting comfortable seemed impossible, she was actually excited and not nervous about the delivery. She figured any amount of pain would be worth bringing her baby into the world. Eric had been so wonderful, and she hated that her size made it impossible to make love to him. He had used her fingers on her a few times since Dr. Weaver said having an orgasm would kick start labor. Milly had enjoyed when he did this, but missed the feeling of him actually inside of her. Still, each night, she snuggled in close to him, feeling the baby kick and felt at total peace.
She was trying to push that awful nightmare out of her mind today as she worked. Finally, finding a good ending point, she smiled, saved her file, before closing her laptop, and figuring she would get something to drink. She loved how whenever she drank anything the baby would start kicking up a storm inside of her. It was a funny little trick that Eric loved, and usually whenever she drank something, he would reach out touching her stomach laughing. Sliding her laptop to the side, she braced herself, holding her stomach as she counted to three. Without Eric to help her up, it usually took three or four tries before she could properly get up. Milly tried twice, laughing to herself, before finally on the third try and stood up, and waddled over to the kitchen.
She entered the brightly lit room when suddenly she felt a strange sensation.
A gush of water came from between her legs, soaking her pants, and hitting the kitchen floor. Milly froze, still holding her stomach and looking down in complete disbelief, when she heard the back door open. Looking up slowly, she saw Eric walk in, wearing jeans and a flannel shirt. He was in the middle of wiping his hands on a garage rag, and smiled seeing Milly. He lifted one hand and began to sign...
"Hey honey! I was just about to..."'
His hand then froze, as he stopped, and looked down at her, and saw the water pooled underneath her. Instantly, he lifted his eyes and looked at her completely stunned. Milly looked at him in shock. She hadn't been feeling any cramps or labor pains at all. Looking at him, she let out a nervous laugh.
"Um...Eric...what do I do?"
Eric couldn't hold it in himself, and burst out laughing with her.
December 1988
It was still snowing the next morning. Milly had called next door, where Uncle Hugo answered, sounding slightly hungover. Milly asked if Eric was up? And asked if she could speak to him? Milly rarely ever called Eric, since it was always just her on one line talking as he listened, but she figured it would be a good idea to lay out what they were planning on doing. Uncle Hugo said of course, and she heard the rustling of him telling Eric that it was her on the phone, before she heard the sound of the phone being passed. After a few seconds of silence, Milly smiled, hearing his soft breathing on one end. She smiled, standing in her bedroom. Her mother had allowed her to have a phone put in her room, since really the only person she spoke to was Geneva, along with one or two other friends she had from school. Milly actually never stayed on long, since it was the same line as her mother's phone, and the one downstairs in the kitchen. She had heard her mother trying to listen in once or twice, but she simply dismissed, but this morning, as it continued to snow like crazy, she glanced out the window, and saw that everything was covered, and that they had probably gotten at least several inches.
"Hey Eric. So Garry and my mom still had work. He took her in and his car is pretty good so I'm sure they're fine. Luis is probably already outside playing with his friends. Since our school got canceled, I'm sure Geneva's was too. After her breakfast she might head on over to Alex's. I was thinking we should walk over there and talk with him. Is that okay?"
Eric continued breathing, but she knew the answer. She smiled.
"Okay, dress warm, and wear your hat. I'll be over in like ten minutes."
She hung up her phone, before quickly changing out of her PJs, and slipping into jeans, and a white T-shirt. She took one of Eric's button up shirts, the two constantly swapped back and forth, and buttoned it up, before grabbing her jacket, and gloves. She hurried downstairs before finding a note from her mom.
- Milly, Garry and I still had to go in today. Please keep an eye on your brother. Let him know he can only play outside for just a few hours, and to keep his hat on. There's soup in the fridge, so warm that up for you guys later for lunch. Any issues call me. - Mom.
Milly smiled, nodding down at the note, already thinking of having the house to herself for a few hours. She slipped into her boots, and put on her gloves, before slipping out the back door, and walking through the blowing snow towards Eric's. She saw Luis in the back, having a snowball fight with his friends. She waved to him, and he waved back quickly, before chasing after one of his friends, all of the boys acting like little soldiers. Milly climbed the back steps, ready to knock on Eric's door, but instead he opened the door, bundled up in his winter jacket, and a Red Sox hat his uncle had given him since it was his favorite team. Milly always thought he looked cute wearing that baseball cap, and liked how his hair stuck out from the sides of it.
"Hey, you're ready?" Eric nodded, before Milly smiled and took his hand. "Come on, let's go." Later... Both Milly and Eric held hands on Alex's porch as he stood before them, wearing his own winter jacket. When they had knocked on the door, he originally seemed surprised, almost acting as if they were about to jump him or something.
Instead Milly and Eric were very calm, and explained to him that they felt that maybe it would be for the best not to tell Geneva how he felt about Milly. Alex blinked in disbelief, before Milly sighed, still holding Eric's hand, as she simply explained that there was no need to hurt Geneva any more than he already was going to hurt her by moving away. Alex stood on his front porch, watching the snow for a while, before he turned towards them and nodded.
"Alright. I won't tell her I promise. She's supposed to come over to watch a video with me later. I'll tell her I'm moving then." Milly sadly sighed. "Sounds good." Alex then smirked at them.
"I take it we're not all going out tonight?"
Milly and Eric exchanged a look, before Milly took a deep breath and nodded.
"Yeah, I think maybe in the next few weeks we keep our distance so it isn't weird. Tonight we can blame the snow, maybe for the next few weeks tell Geneva you just wanna spend time with her. I know we're gonna see each other...but we know it's going to be weird."
Alex nodded, and nervously rubbed the back of his neck.
"Yeah, I think you're right."
Milly let out a deep breath, before she tugged on Eric's hand to show that it was time for them to go. They started to turn, when Alex called out...
"Milly, wait."
They stopped, and Milly looked over.
"What?"
Alex sadly smiled.
"I'm sorry. No hard feelings."
Milly nodded, before Alex looked up at Eric.
"You're a really lucky man Eric. Just remember that."
Eric just blankly stared at him, before Alex sighed at Milly and steeped forward towards her. She saw that his lip was slightly swollen from the night befoe. He had told them when they first came over, that he was going to tell Geneva he just slipped. He moved towards her, sadly smiling, before he leaned forward, and quickly, and gently kissed her cheek. Eric didn't react, he just continued holding her hand. Alex quickly stepped away, head bowed down, almost ashamed.
"I love you Milly. I always will. I'm sorry."
Milly sadly stared back at him, before she nodded, knowing enough was enough. This was the end of a certain era of their life, and Milly felt a small shift, as she turned, still holding Eric's hand, before they climbed down the stairs, and walked side by side.
They decided not to cut through the back yard, and took the sidewalk. The snow was coming down heavy, but somehow it casted the entire neighborhood to look like a beautiful, yet haunting crystal ice kingdom, just like in that movie Legend she had watched a few years back. Feeling the cold against her face, as they walked through the heavy stick snow. Stopping, Milly looked at Eric.
"Are you mad?"
Eric raised an eyebrow confused, before Milly sighed and looked up into his eyes.
"About Alex. I'm sorry he kissed me."
Eric sighed, looking down the snow covered street as plows drove by in the distance. Finally he looked over at her and smirked, before he slowly signed...
"I can't blame him for falling in love with you. I did."
Milly laughed, before she stood up and kissed Eric softly. Squeezing his hand she smiled, before both softly laughed. Looking up at the gray sky as snow scattered down, she motioned up with her eyes.
"Have you ever flown when it's like this?"
Eric smiled and nodded, before Milly lit up.
"Really?! What's it like? It must be freezing?!"
Eric shrugged, before he signed again...
"It can get really cold. I've only done it twice before. Only at night, but it's beautiful."
Milly watched him sign, only a few mistakes, but she understood. Smiling, she took his arm, and snuggled up against him as they walked together, heading back home.
Later...
Milly and Eric had the house to themselves that afternoon. Earlier, once they came back from seeing Alex, Milly called Geneva, who was blissfully unaware of anything that was happening. She called her, letting her know that their plans were going to have to be canceled due to the snow. Geneva seemed fine about that, and told Milly she was probably going to head over to Alex's and hang out. Milly's heart ached, knowing what was in store for Geneva today. Alex was going to tell her about how he was moving away, and most likely going to break up with her. She was relieved that he promised not to tell her how he felt about Milly. She felt heartbroken over how Geneva's whole world was about to turn on its head. Feeling anxiety, that nervous twisting in her stomach. She sighed, before turning up the heat in the house, and saw Eric, his coat and hat off now, trying to warm up in the living room. He was sitting on the sofa, and playing with Max, gently petting him. Milly went into the kitchen and began to make soup and sandwiches. Once they were done, she went to the back door and yelled for Luis. He came in, stomping the snow off his boots, before the three of them all sat down and ate.
Afterwards, Luis ran back out to go rejoin his friends to play.
Once alone, Eric and her cleaned up, before she glanced at the clock and knew they were totally alone. Smiling, she took Eric's hand and led him upstairs. Now an hour later she was in her bedroom with Eric. The door locked. She was laying on her bed underneath the covers, her legs spread as Eric laid between them, thrusting into her at a frantic rate. Milly squirmed underneath him, as Eric gasped for air, and slowed down, before completely stopping for a second. Milly, who was on the verge of an orgasm, pantted, she stared up with wide eyes of disbelief up at her boyfriend. His entire body was so smooth, and now that he was older, his arms had filled out with firm structure. She loved every single detail of his body. She had learned from Uncle Hugo that Eric's family was Italian, German, and Israel. He was naturally tanned year round, his skin always had a crisp golden tint that usually turned a beautiful shade of brown during the summer. Milly was jealous, since she always had to pile on the sunscreen so she wouldn't burn. She laid there in her bed, and looked down at his penis entering her in and out. She recently really got a good look at it while she was giving him a blow job, and had been very curious on how odd it looked. It was big, even though she didn't have anything to compare it to. She rarely used tampons, but whenever Eric went into it, no matter no wet she was, it had the same sorta uncomfortable seasion since it was so big and she was so tight. She relaxed herself, moving up her hips, knowing she would have to change the sheets before her mother came home later tonight. She laid there, with Eric still deeply inside of her, staring down at her. Milly was sweating slightly, and panted, before she looked up at him as if he was crazy.
"Eric...don't stop...I'm close."
Eric stared down at her, looking exhausted, before he leaned down and deeply kissed her, his tongue going into her mouth, as he sucked, and moaned lightly as they deeply kissed. Milly grabbed onto his arching shoulder blades, before Eric continued to move again. He pumped into her, slow at first. His thrusts drew out, slowly in and out, and Milly felt her body tense. She broke the kiss, pulling him down, one hand grasping onto his warm back, as the other ran through his thick hair. She was starting to feel the tingering of an orgasm coming, as she held onto him tight, before he began pumping into her again, at a fast direct rate. He moved into her, thrusting hard, as her entire body shook. Suddenly, her eyes rolled back in her head, as her entire body washed over with one of the hardest orgasms she ever experienced. She cried out, before snapping her eyes shut.
At that exact moment Eric stiffened, before he cried out, and climaxed. Milly felt it happen, and couldn't believe the blind luck of them finishing together. She gave a deep breath, staring up at the ceiling, before she settled back. Eric collapsed against her, still deeply inside of her, before he leaned down and kissed her bare breasts, as Milly gently raked her fingers through his hair. Eric's soft plump lips went over her breasts, before slowly moving his kisses up to her throat. She sighed, smiling, never feeling so content, before she smiled.
"Hey...wanna try something?"
Eric stopped kissing her, before he looked up at her, and listened.
Later...
Milly laid on all fours on her bed, giggling as Eric looked unsure, as he knelt behind her. She had told her about a style of lovemaking that Geneva had told her about called doggy style. She had explained it to Eric, who sat up in bed, the comforter covering him. It was still snowing out, and Milly figured to take advantage of the fact that they were totally alone. She had wanted to do this with Eric, but figured she wanted to do this on a bed. Finally she got into position, knowing she could never do such a thing in front of anyone besides Eric. Both were learning together, and she wanted to see if this worked. Eric had tried several times to enter her, but couldn' quite do it. He sighed, his cheeks flushed, as he stared down frustrated. Milly giggled, before she glanced back over her shoulder and slowly back up against him.
"Take your time, use your hand. Don't worry you're not hurting me."
Eric sighed, before he scooted closer, and used his hand, before he focused, bit down on his lip, until finally Milly felt his shaft fill her in one direct thrust. Milly felt a little pain from this position, and made a face, before she took a deep breath, and smiled.
"That's it, you're in. Now slowly...in and out. You can hold onto my waist."
Eric looked slightly overwhelmed, before he moved his body, and stared down at Milly. He did so for a few minutes, before he grasped her waist, and found that he had better control like this. He smiled, and began to thrust into her quickly. Milly stayed in position, grasping onto the sheets, her hair hanging down low, slowly starting to feel pleasure from this. She felt the pinpricks starting to take hold when suddenly Eric didn't last too long, but when he stiffened, he leaned his body against her, before she slowly collapsed, and smiled. They laid there naked, both together, before Milly smiled, completely exhausted. She didn't come, but she felt like she was close. Slowly she felt Eric pull out of her, and roll over, his legs half hanging over her bed. He looked completely drained and wiped out. Milly rolled over, before she smiled. She couldn't explain it, but she knew she was ready for another orgasm. This had never happened before, but she figured it was just her being grateful for having such a wonderful boyfriend. Leaning over, she gently rubbed his check, as he blankly stared up at the ceiling. Tilly chriped in her cage, before Milly's hand which had been rubbing her chest, then her stomach, slowly reached down between his legs where a small mass of hair was. She wrapped her hand around his penis, that laid limply against his thigh. Milly gently wrapped her hand around it, before she started giving it slow gentle strokes. Eric looked over at her as if she was crazy. Milly laughed, and continued stroking him.
Later...
Eric laid on the bed, propped up against the stacked up pillows, his face flushed, and tried. Milly was straddling his lap, moving slowly up and down. Milly felt a little guilty that she was making him make love this many times, but somehow doing this distracted her from the phone call she knew she would be getting later from Geneva, who was most likely going to be a sobbing heartbroken mess. She hated that this was happening, but somehow having sex with her boyfriend blocked everything out. She continued moving up and down on him. They had found a good rhythm, and were pumping along. One of Eric's hands was squeezing her breast, as he pumped upwards, sweetly badly, and looking drained. Milly started to feel the beginning of a good orgasm coming, and worked herself against his shaft which was deeply inside of her. She felt the tingling, and grasped onto Eric's shoulders as she moved. Eric had dropped his hands as well, and had held onto her waist. She moved, and moved, panting, and sweating, and smiling.
"That's it...keep going..."
She started feeling it, when Eric snapped his eyes shut, and cried out. Instantly, Milly felt Eric finish. He collapsed back against the headboard, his bangs sweetly, and his face flushed with color. Milly was frustrated, and wiggled on him for the chance that maybe he was still hard. Instead, she knew she had officially worn Eric out. He laid there trying to catch his breath, before Milly held onto his shoulders, and smiled, brushing back his bangs, before leaning in and kissing his forehead.
"Ready to try again?"
She joked. Eric made the funniest expression, before he smirked, and motioned to the bed. He then thought for a second, as if he couldn't remember the right sign. Milly, still mounted on his lap, watched as he thought again and sighed...
"Down."
It took Milly a second, before it hit her that he meant. She smiled.
"You want me to get off of you?"
Eric's brow wrinkled and he tried to think again, and signed the same word.
"Down."
That's when Milly knew and laughed softly.
"You want me to lay down?"
Eric smiled and nodded. Milly smirked, before carefully working herself off him, seeing that she definitely was going to have to clean the sheets before her mother got home. She wiggled herself off, always hating that empty feeling of Eric no longer being inside of her. She laid down naked on the bed, giggling, before Eric crawled behind her, making her raise her eyebrow confused.
"Eric? What are you doing?"
Eric softly kissed her neck, before he reached over her and slipped his hand between her legs. Instantly Milly's eyes widened in total surprise, as two of his fingers slipped inside of her. Milly tensed, as Eric's fingers went in and out of her, before the rubbing started. Milly began to breathe heavy, before she started to squirm. Less than a few minutes later, she braced herself, as her much wanted second orgasm. Milly softly cried out, burying her face in her comforter, before she slowly came down. After a few seconds, she turned over slightly, and looked up at Eric and smiled. He smiled, before leaning down and deeply kissing her.
Then...
They heard the door downstairs open and Milly's mother's voice.
"Milly? Luis? We're home!"
Milly froze with Eric, before her eyes widened in terror.
"Shit! They're home!"
Milly scooted off the bed like lighting, before she reached down, and grabbed her panties and jeans, nearly tripping as she pulled them up. Eric hurried as well, grabbing his boxers, before grabbing his jeans, and zipping them up, as they scrambled to find the rest of their clothes. Milly then heard again her mother call from downstairs...
"Milly?"
She heard the sound of her starting up the stairs. Milly hooked her bra on, as Eric was pulling on his shirt. Milly felt the worst kind of panic possible, before she yelled out...
"Hey mom! I'm just changing! Luis is outside playing!"
She faintly heard Garry talking on the phone downstairs, and figured they were sent home early due to the weather. Milly heard her still coming up the stairs, and Milly counted herself lucky that that she had her door locked. Getting her shirt on, and Eric getting his flannel on, they looked at each other in panic. She knew he could fly across the way, but she had made a rule with Eric that he would absloutely never fly during the day in case he got caught. He eyed the window, but Milly knew there was no time. Gently, she pushed him into her open closet, before shutting it. She franticly looked around the room, before she saw the tangled up sheets, and knew it was clear what she had been doing. She ran over, ripping the sheets off her bed, and throwing the cover to her side before bunching it in her arms. Her mother then was right outside the door, and tried to open it.
The doorknob turned.
"Milly?"
"Just a second mom! I'm changing!"
She grabbed a bottle of purfume Greneva had given her for Christmas last year and sprayed it twice in the air, before she saw her doorknob jingle again. Rolling her eyes, annoyed, she hurried over, and unlocked the door, and saw her mother standing right outside.
"Hey mom, why you home so early?"
Her mother stepped inside her room and looked around suspicious. Milly's heart hammered.
"We were allowed to go home with the roads getting worse. They might call it a state of emerency. Your brother is outside?"
"Yeah, I gave him lunch."
"I thought you would have been spending the day with Eric..."
"Oh...he had to do something with Uncle Hugo, I'm gonna go over later maybe."
"Thought you guys were all going to go out to celebrate his birthday"
She stepped inside, and looked around, standing right outside the closet. Mily stood there like a statue, and shook her head.
"Um, no...with the weater so bad we called it off. Plus...we just learned today that Alex's dad got a new promotion in Seattle and they are going to move after the New Year. I'm waiting for Geneva to call. I guess he was going to tell her today. I ran into him eariler helping his dad outside."
Her mother raised her eyebrows.
"That's a shame, Alex is a nice boy. I always thought you two would have made a cute couple..."
Milly instantly shot her mother a look, knowing very well that Eric was listening.
"Yeah well I already have a boyfriend."
Her mother didn't say anything, before she looked over at her stripped bed.
"What happened to your bed?"
Milly looked over and motioned to her crumpled up sheets.
"Um, I got my period last night and it stained some of the sheets. I gotta wash them."
Her mother still looked suspicious, standing right outside the closet before she nodded.
"Well use cold water, that should get it out."
She walked towards the doorway, before patting her on the shoulder.
"Garry is going to make chili, I'm gonna call Luis in, God knows he'll stay out there all night. If you go next door I want your jacket on."
Milly nodded as her mother passed her and walked out. Sighing, she took a second, listening to her footsteps heading back downstairs. Finally, once she knew she was downstairs, she quickly shut and locked the door, before dropping her sheets, and yanking the closet door open.
Eric stood there, staring at her, before Milly sadly smiled. Without so much as saying another word, she stepped forward, and gently draped her arms around him, and pulled him in for a tight hug. After a few moments, she looked up and smiled.
"That was a close one. Come on..."
She pulled him out, before she knew there was no way she could sneak him out with them downstairs. Without so much as saying a word, it was as if Eric read her mind and motioned to the window. Milly sighed. It was still snowing hard outside, and it was still daytime. Milly sighed.
"No Eric. Somebody might see..."
Eric walked over to the window, and unlocked it, before pulling it open and a cold gust of wind came in. Milly joined him, looking out as well.
"Is your window even unlocked?"
Eric nodded, before Milly nervously bit her lip. She stuck her head out and looked both ways, checking to see if anyone was driving by, or if Luis and his friends were in fact still playing nearby. At the moment, the coast was clear. Milly sighed, before she glanced over at him and sighed.
"Please be careful."
Eric smirked, kissing her cheek, before he climbed out of the window, and Milly stood back in awe, as he quickly flew over, and rasied his window to open it, before climbing in. Milly breathed a sigh of relief, before she looked across and looked. Eric turned around before smiling, and raising his hand to wave. Milly laughed as tiny snowflakes blew in, as she waved back. Forever in awe of the magic Eric held.
Present
Dr. Weaver had been called, and had arrived at the hospital, ordering that Milly was taken upstairs to the special unit. Eric had driven her to the hospital, while Milly began feeling labor pains start. They were eight minutes apart, but they felt worse than any period cramp. She focused, breathing slowly, her hands placed on her large bump of a stomach. Eric kept glancing over nervously, but she resarued she was fine. Once they arrived to the hospital, Dr. Weaver met with them, and Milly was taken upstairs. Now in the private delivery room, she had changed into a hospital gown, her hair pinned up, as she slowly tried to focus on breathing. Eric stood beside her, letting her squeeze his hand, as he kept nervously looking at the machine that showed her heartrate as well as the baby's. Milly cried out only twice as the cramps came in waves. She started having flashbacks to what happened with Lucky, and she began to get scared.
Anytime this would happen, she would look up at Eric, who kept signing to her that she could do this, and that she was doing wonderful. She knew he was terrified, but he was still trying so hard to be her rock. The contractions got closer and closer, before a nurse came in and gave her an epidural. She leaned forward, squeezing Eric's hand.
A few minutes later, she started feeling it kick in, and the pain became much less, and the odd sensation of not feeling anything from the waist down threw her off. She still felt pressure, and continued to breath. Dr. Weaver continued to come in and check on her, before she checked again and smiled, saying she was just about ready to push. She told them she was going to get into fresh scrubs, and in less than a few minutes, they would be meeting their baby boy. Milly and Eric smiled, actually feeling really excited. The other nurse put her legs in sturups, making the hopsital bed go up so she was almost in a sitting position. She left the room for a second, leaving Eric and Milly alone. Milly took deep breaths, looking at the large bump of a stomach and thought about Jet...about Lucky...and all the other pregancies they had wanted so badly. Now, somehow my pure luck this baby had survived. She took a deep breath, before looking up at Eric. She gently squeezed his hand.
"Remember when we first met? The day I moved in? How I saw your across the way sitting on the windowsill. I honestly think the second I saw you I fell in love with you. Thank you for him..."
She motioned down to her belly. Eric smiled, before he struggled and said...
"I...l...l...loveee you...M...Milly."
Milly smiled at him, before he leaned down and softly kissed her lips. They looked in each other's eyes smiling, before Dr. Weaver and the other nurse came. She smiled, before taking the stool, and wheeling over, as the nurse prepared everything.
"You two have been my speical project. I can now tell my son that I helped Eric...the boy who could fly. Now let's meet this little guy."
She went between Milly's legs, before smiling.
"Okay, you're fully dilated. I want you to breath, and I'm going to count to three. You're going to bare down with all of your might and push okay?"
Milly nodded, before looking at Eric and taking a deep breath. Sitting up, she watched Dr. Weaver between her two spread legs, before Dr. Weaver nodded.
"Okay. One..."
Milly leaned forward, knowing that this time this delivery wouldn't end in tradgy like it did with Lucy. No, they were going to have a living breathing baby. A baby they had wanted so badly ever since their first one died when they were in college. Milly focused on that, before she started to push. Her face turned bright red as she moaned softly pushing as hard as she could. Dr. Weaver got to two...then three, before she told her to relax. MIlly sat back, breathing hard, as Eric kissed the top of her head. Milly felt exausted by just that, before Dr. Weaver smiled. "I think he's coming faster than I thought. He's already crowning. I want you to relax for a second, and then we're gonna do two more big pushes and that's it! Okay?" Milly nodded, before Eric let go of her hand, and looked down between her legs where Dr. Weaver was working. He nodded, looking up and Milly and smiled, and signed.
"I can see him."
Milly smiled, still worn out as the nurse rubbed her other arm for a few moments, before rejoining Dr. Weaver. Eric went back to Milly, holding her hand and signed...
"You can do this..."
Milly looked up into his eyes and knew she could. Sitting back up with his help, she took a deep breath before Dr. Weaver began to count and she began to push...
