Chapter 2

I woke up to my alarm at 6 am the next day. I had to wake up earlier so that everyone could use the bathroom without waiting too long for their turn. Groggily, I made my way to the bathroom to shower and get dressed.

Twenty minutes later I was done with my morning routine. I was wearing some baggy high waist trousers in black and a thick cropped grey sweater. For shoes I chose to go for some normal white trainers.

I brushed my pale brown hair up in a bun and made sure that my side bangs were neat. I didn't really wear makeup, except for special occasions, so I just curled my lashes, did my eyebrows and applied some tinted lip balm.

Physically I was really pale with stormy grey eyes. My face was heart shaped, my lips were small; neither too thick nor thin. It was just the right size. Both Bella and I got the pale gene from our dad. I was a little taller than Bella and had a little more bust and hip.

Satisfied with my look, I made my way downstairs to prepare breakfast. On the way downstairs I met dad who was getting ready to go to work.

"Morning dad. I'll have coffee and toast ready for you to take with you to work."

"Morning sweetheart. Thanks, I really need the coffee. You and Bella will be okay for school?"

"Yes don't worry dad we will be okay."

I peeked into Bella's roomon the way only to find her still sleeping.

'If she doesn't wake up when her alarm rings then I'll wake her up.'

In the kitchen, I prepared coffee and toast for dad for takeaway. For Bella I got the cereal and milk ready. As for me I don't really eat in the morning. Just some tea and sometimes a fruit will do.

Fifteen minutes later dad was out the door on his way to work. At 7 o'clock I heard Bella get in the bathroom. By the time she came down it was 07:20. She was wearing dark jeans with a long sleeved shirt.

I pointed to the cereal and milk as I greeted her.

"Good morning Bella. Dad already went to work He said good luck for today."

"Morning Adaline. I guess we are really going to need some luck for today."

"I am not looking forward to the staring either. Eat your breakfast and let's be on our way. Hopefully, there won't be many students if we get there early."

Ten minutes later she was done and we made our way outside with our coats on. Bella and I decided to go together in her truck. It was more practical this way. The truck was loud but at least it drove well.

It was not hard to find the school in this small town, so we got there easily. As it was still early, there weren't many students yet. Bella parked near the front office where we would get our schedules.

"You ready?" I asked her

"No but we'll have to go anyway."

We got out of the car and made our way into the office. I had my hood up to deter some few stares. Once inside the office, we were greeted by a lady.

"Good morning. I am Mrs Cope."

"Good morning. We are the new students, Adaline and Bella Swan." I said.

Bella just greeted her with a nod and a smile.

"Ah yes Charlie Swan's daughters. Here are your schedules and a map of the school dears. You will also have to have your teachers sign this pink slip. Please return it at the end of school."

"We will. Thank you." I said with a smile

After some more instructions from Mrs Cope, we were finally free to go. There were more students in the parking area than before. We got into the car and Bella drove around until she found a parking spot. I ignored the looks directed towards us as I compared my schedule with Bella's. We only shared lunch together.

"You'll be okay finding your classes?" I asked my sister.

"Yes. Compared to our school in Phoenix, Forks High School is really tiny."

"Okay then let's face the music."

I shared a look with Bella as I got out of the car. We were soon approached by an asian guy named Eric. Bella and I both politely declined his enthusiastic suggestion to be in the school journal. Eric showed me where my first class was before we went separate ways, with him showing Bella to hers.

The rest of my classes was uninteresting but, fortunately, time flew by quickly and soon it was lunch time. I made my way to the cafetaria and saw Bella waiting for me near the doors.

"Hey Bella. How were your classes so far?"

"Apart from the staring and some teachers making me introduce myself, it was okay." She said whilst clutching her backpack.

"By the way we were invited by some of my classmates to share the same table in the cafetaria." She looked at me hopefully.

It was obvious that she didn't want to be alone with them. Even though I was reticent, I still agreed.

"Okay I will accompany you. Let's go in, shall we?"

As soon as we entered, someone called Bella's name. She signaled to them to wait as we made our way to the queue. After getting our food, which quite frankly was not that appetising, we made our way to the table. There was a chorus of 'heys' as we sat down.

"Hey guys. This is my sister Adaline."

"Hello nice to meet you." I said with a smile on my face.

The girl named Jessica Stanley quickly introduced the others in the group. Out of them all, I could see myself getting along well only with Angela Weber.

" So Bella, Adaline why are you so pale if you come from Phoenix?" Asked Jessica

"Our mom is part albino." Bella said with a deadpan face.

I think that Jessica really believed it. Well doesn't matter to me either way. I didn't bother answering as she kept on gossiping. Mike and Tyler seemed mighty interested in Bella. Thank merlin they were content to leave me be. I had been told to be quite imposing sometimes.

I mostly tuned out their chatter by concentrating on my food. I was busy daydreaming, a bad habit of mine, when I suddenly heard Bella ask:

"Who are they?"
