AN: Another day, another chapter. Don't forget to tell me your opinions and criticisms. ENJOY!
Ace knew it would come one way or another. There was no escape from the past.
Right now, team ACES was walking to find the main bad guy that operated the hijacks but found an abandoned house on the road instead.
"This house looks abandoned and needs a lot of fixing," Carl said while checking the house from the outside. "I don't think someone is living here."
Violet went to knock on the door. She waited a bit before she pressed the bell button and no ringing came out. "It doesn't seem that someone lives here."
Ace went to Violet and without any warning, he kicked the door, surprising his teammates before he entered. "Yeah, nobody would live inside this." Ace said as he looked around with his team entering behind him.
Carl, Violet, and Skyler looked around the house and found nothing but dusty rooms, dusty and broken furniture, and no electricity in the house. The beds looked stable and the mattress looked good despite being dusty. However, they noticed that the house didn't have any bad smell or random junk scattered around like if the people that used to live here cleaned it but the truth was that Ace cleaned the house when he was there. After that, team ACES sat on the available couch and chairs in the living room to discuss.
"So, what do you think so far about this?" Ace asked and sounded like he was interested.
"It's Dusty, needs a lot of fixing, and is big enough to house us." Violet counted.
"I agree with Vi." Carl nodded in agreement. "Though, it feels weird to have a house away from the city. At least by me."
"It's fine." Skyler simply commented.
Ace hummed before he looked outside and saw that it was sunset. "I think we should stay and see what we can do with this."
The team got confused at this suggestion. "Why exactly?"
"Because I can't afford a hotel night at the moment." Ace lied. He had the money to afford each one of them but instead, he wanted to see things go as how they did previously. It was weird that he wanted to do that for the sake of making things normal but he didn't care.
"You serious?"
Ace nodded in response, making them facepalm. "Alright, if we need to stay here, we should make this more…habitable," Carl said while looking around. "It doesn't make me comfortable to sleep in a place like this."
"You can sleep outside if you want." Violet pointed outside.
"N-No, I prefer sleeping under a roof and this fella insisted to get sleeping bags in case we spent so much time walking in the wild." Carl pointed at his leader. "So, Vi, do you have your equipment?"
"O-Oh, I won't forget them." Violet brought her equipment. "I always have them if anything needed fixing. My tools vary so we can use many things."
"It's official. Okay, Vi, go to fix the electricity generator and have the Dust Decoded's blue-charged electricity to use. Be careful though, it's so shocking and has a lot of energy." Ace grabbed the Dust Decoded and chose the blue-charged electricity that made the blade to blue kinetic energy and handed it to Violet which she grabbed before she went to the generator.
"Carl, clean some of the dust in the rooms and use my goggles to protect your eyes from the dust." Ace pulled a pair of goggles from his pockets and handed them to them.
"Okay…" Carl said while checking the goggles before he put them.
"And have Skyler with you." Ace handed another pair to his blue-haired friend.
"Oh." Skyler beamed as she put them.
"I will take care of the rest. Have fun." Carl and Skyler nodded before they went to the rooms.
As they went out of his sight, Ace sighed and shook his head. It was a good thing they didn't know how to read him. Ace made a clone of himself and ordered it to do his work. "I need help anytime soon." Ace muttered under his breath.
…
On the second floor, Carl and Skyler entered one of the rooms to check it out. Carl flipped the switch to light the room and remembered that there wasn't any power. They saw the room had four beds, a desk, one window, and ugly looking from how the painted walls looked.
"This place needs a lot of working." Carl sighed as he and Skyler went to the first bed.
Skyler lifted the mattress and pinned it at 90 degrees to let Carl use Nevan's face to remove the dust because that's the only thing they had. When Nevan landed, there was a lot of dust flew from the mattress with some reaching them, making them cough.
"Sheesh, that's a lot of dust," Carl said between his coughs before he hit Nevan on the mattress to remove more dust. After they finished the first one, they moved it outside of the room and went for the second one. They repeated the process until they finished all four of the mattresses.
"Okay, now we need to remove all of this dust. Do you have any wind dust?" Carl asked.
"And why?" Skyler asked.
"Because you would let them fly outside of the room by the windows." Carl explained making Skyler look at him in the 'You serious' look. "What? I won't clean all of this by hand and we don't have a lot of time."
"Right," Skyler pulled Meta and chose the Wind dust before she flipped the hammer to make the head's direction on the ground and carefully slam it to not break it. The result was having some of the dust flying toward the windows. She repeated the process multiple times until most or not all of the dust had flown away from the room. After that, the duo brought the mattresses back to the beds.
After they put them down, they headed to the other rooms. While they were doing it, Carl noticed Skyler's gloomy mood. Carl guessed that would probably be Ace and her concern about him not being in full charge.
"Thinking about him?" Carl interrupted her thoughts.
"Huh?"
"I said, you're thinking about Ace, right?" Carl said as he slammed Nevan on the mattress.
"Y-Yeah," Skyler nodded slowly.
"Maybe you could talk to him when we finish. I mean you might kiss each other." Carl teased in the end, making Skyler blush hard.
"W-W-What?! C-Carl! Don't say that, lazy butt!" Skyler stuttered. "I know what you mean but not now."
"Relax, girl. I'm teasing ya but seriously, grab his attention before things get out of hand later." Carl advised. "He could use some help from you and could help your relationship together when you need each other."
"I-I will try," Skyler said before she thought to fire back his teasing. "How about, Vi? How about doing the same with her."
"We're fine. It was kinda hard to bear that hug from her when we finished fighting Wolfe and Greenie." Carl blushed lightly and noticed Skyler's smirk. "H-Hey! Don't think of any ideas! She warped her hand around my neck."
"Yeah, sure." Skyler chuckled lightly.
"So, we would make it into a war?" Carl narrowed his eyes while smacking Nevan at the mattress.
"Nope." Skyler moved the mattress outside and returned to lift the next one.
While Carl was about to smack the mattress, the lamp inside the room worked. "Speaking of looks like Vi did it."
"Hey, Ace! Can you tell me how powerful this blue-charged electricity is? I had to modify the generator to make it able to handle the power just to be safe." Carl and Skyler heard Violet calling for Ace.
"She's awesome." Carl smiled.
…
After fixing the generator, Violet walked to the dining room with the Dust Decoded and didn't see Ace in it. She assumed that he was checking things and cleaning in the other rooms given how the dining room was clean. Then, she went to the kitchen to check for any broken sink or things like that. She found a couple of things broken and didn't mind fixing all of them.
After that, she searched between the roofs and saw that they had semi-dirty dishes, spoons, and forks. She was confused as to why they were there or why were they not so dirty but it was good if they needed to use them.
"Okay, I fixed the electricity generator and the kitchen, what else I can do?" Violet muttered under her breath while looking around.
"I'm telling you, he said 'The Mentally Unstable Hosts'. It's not like he brought it like that." She turned to the voice of her friend coming down from the top floor. "Heck, his singing came out of nowhere. Both of you heard it."
"Y-Yeah, I agree he was…nice," Skyler said.
"I assume you talk about Ace." The duo turned to Violet. "Did you see him? If you did, gave him the sword." Violet pulled The Dust Decoded.
"No, we were cleaning the rooms above," Skyler responded.
"Huh…Where did he go?"
"Don't tell me he went rogue," Carl said.
"I didn't go rogue, guys." The trio turned to the voice of their leader entering the house with 2 bags. "Thank you for your concerns about me but I just tried to buy anything to eat with some money I had."
"A-Ace! Why did you leave without notifying us?" Skyler asked.
"I thought you would take some time to finish." Ace put the bags on the table. "So, I said to myself to get something to eat. We didn't eat something all day so we need to fuel ourselves." Ace half lied.
"Okay, thanks for that but don't do that again, especially since we're on a mission." Skyler put her hands on her hips.
"I can't promise you. I won't be here all the time to help you." Ace shrugged before he saw the kitchen fixed. "Huh, you fixed the kitchen? Thank you, Violet."
"You are welcome."
The trio was having concerns about their leader. They thought he might be lying although he looked like he cleaned some parts of the house. That didn't mean there was something off about him after they beat the black-outfitted group. Skyler had her concerns higher than her teammates although part of it was love, the other part was actual concern if Ace might get fucked at some point from what roams in his mind. Anyways, they ate their food and headed to sleep quickly to wake up and plan what to do tomorrow.
The team took off some of their clothes but not all of them to not reveal so much because they didn't have their sleeping clothes and slept peacefully except for Ace. Ace was having so much trouble sleeping. From no comfort to flashbacks and nightmares getting through his mind. He got tired from sleeping and went outside. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you see it, Ace wasn't the only one who was awake.
Ace stepped outside with his blacktop and knee-length shorts in the cold weather of the night. Ace hugged himself not from the cold but from the swelling thoughts he had. The return of the black and red background, the red glowing eyes, a good nightmare fuel material.
Ace closed his eyes and shook his head. "These thoughts and doubts." Ace chuckled at himself. "Why? Why do I keep thinking of them like this?" Ace sat down and brought his knees to his chest. "It's gone. ALL OF IT is gone."
He cried and thought enough last time but it didn't want to go from his mind. It seemed like they wanted to stay there to remind him and his failure to finish it. Being a failure in doing the right job at a time before the mayhem. Being a coward to fight Salem toe-to-toe even though he could have done something. Being late to rescue the only remaining things he loved kept him sane all of these years.
They were reminders and good ones.
"You could come out. You still needed more training to hide." Ace called the person he sensed her presence behind him revealing to be Skyler in a blue tank top that revealed a bit of her chest and tight blue shorts with her hair free.
"You're right that I need more but wrong when you say that you're fine." Skyler walked closer to Ace and sat down next to him. "Ace, tell me what's wrong? I could listen you know."
"…they won't leave me." Ace said with a tear coming out of his eyes. "They're always here to remind me of these failures."
"Well, whatever that was, part of our lives needs a failure. You said that before-"
"I know!" Ace interrupted Skyler. "But this…this reminds me of an endurable pain I don't wish anyone of you handle."
"Then, if it was bad memories, w-why didn't you say it?" Skyler patted his shoulder lightly.
"It's more." Ace answered. "It's more than what you could think, Sky. All I could say is that I hope you don't test what I suffered." Ace didn't take it and released all of the tears he contained.
Skyler didn't wait a second before she hugged him which the blue-haired male hugged back. "I'm sorry, everyone. I'm sorry." Ace rasped.
Ace continued to cry until he had enough. He released his hugs and removed the soaked face with his forearms before he side-hugged Skyler which she excepted.
"Thanks for being here." Ace thanked him she smiled in response.
"N-No worries. I'm here to help." Skyler assured. "Are you good to talk about?"
Ace shook his head in response. "Come on, Ace. You said that you shouldn't hide this stuff. Being honest is better."
"Death, pain, and suffering. This place here reminds me of old memories I didn't want to see again. Old friends I used to know are gone." Ace...admitted and didn't admit the truth. He didn't want to reveal his secret but he could stretch it out in a way even if it hurts him more than normal.
Skyler was sad to see Ace going through that. She didn't feel this before but she understood how some places remind people of memories they didn't want to remember. "I'm here for you, Ace. I, Carl, and Violet are here to help you and stay with you. Don't push others around like that."
"I know," Ace nodded as he hugged Skyler before she hugged him back tightly.
They stayed at their place more and talked to each other. They changed the topic and tried to stay away from the original topic as much as possible. It was able to help Ace to forget bits of his thoughts. Sitting next to his not deceased and sudden love interest made him more bright than before as he started to tell some stories he had.
"No, you didn't."
"Oh, I did and then some. He didn't see it coming at all. And his reaction, man, calling that he saw a ghost is an understatement. He might have seen the devil incarnate in front of him."
They laughed and giggled for an hour but they need to sleep for tomorrow because it would be a big day. "Okay, girl, let's go and get to bed before accidentally waking them up and having a wild day tomorrow." Ace said.
"Yeah, I started to get tired." Skyler yawned as she stood up and entered the house with Ace following her.
Both of them went to bed and although Ace was awake for a few minutes, he was in a better mood and forgot some pain he had, he just needed a hug and a person to talk with.
'That girl is awesome. I wish we could have our happy ending. Just for this once.' Ace said in his thoughts before he closed his eyes and headed to sleep.
…
Another day, another adventure.
The team woke up and wore their outfits before they continued the search for the big boss behind the hijacking using Violet's tracker. The direction went through the town near the house they found yesterday. The conditions of it were better than the small town they entered before although it seemed a little affected by the hijacks after hearing glimpses.
They paced up after getting out of the town to find the head of those operations and took around an hour or so to finally get closer to their targets.
"Okay, the tracker spotted a base full of many people to start within the span of a few kilometers ahead," Violet informed.
"Woo, now we're talking. Ready for the party to kick." Ace cracked his knuckles in anticipation.
Carl and Violet turned to Ace in surprise as he returned to his normal mood they had known Ace after being weird and gloomy yesterday. Ace noticed them looking at him. "What?"
"Are you okay, bro?" Carl raised his eyebrow in confusion. "You looked bad yesterday and now looking like you would kill a Grimm with your hands."
"You could say that." Ace replied. "But thanks to a certain friend, I'm slightly better." Ace referred to his blue-haired friend.
Carl and Violet then turned to Skyler who winked in response. Carl realized what she did and saw that his advice…worked? Or for a bit but still.
"You have a problem, bro." Carl simply commented.
"I know." Ace nodded in response. "Okay, let's get quiet for a second."
The team got quiet and continued forward until they reached their location. They sneaked and hid behind a bush to see what was happening. What they saw was a place with many people in black outfits some having weapons in their hands. There was also a giant base with 2 watchtowers next to it that had guards with snipers in their hands. The team also saw many vehicles with many supplies filled with different types of dust and materials and getting inside the base.
However, among all of those, the team spotted two individuals that looked more unique than the others.
The first was a male wearing an outfit consisting of a black vest, jet black pants, and boots with small belts on the boots, a white and black belt on his upper body with pockets that seemed to have dust, and 2 shotguns on his waistband. He had black, spiky hair and a white skull mask covering his face.
The other individual was a female who wore a similar outfit to the male figure but this time had purple hair and didn't seem to show her weapon.
"Okay, this is a suicide, guys," Carl whispered loudly. "How are we supposed to fight all of those guys if we had troubles in the previous four?"
"I don't think they're at the same level as the team we faced." Ace said. "You see, Carl, not all of them wear similar outfits. The one we faced has different outfits than some of these fellas. So, you could say that's like a video game where you start at a low level and the more you get higher, you will get something like outfit customization given how they wear something similar."
Carl was shocked at this quick analysis Ace said to him. "What? This is not a video game!"
"Well, I'm surprised as you as well but Ace spoke facts," Violet said while showing her laptop to her team. "There's a hidden database and it contains all of the information about them. Few people are better in ranks and stuff, kinda like a leaderboard where the higher you get, the better and what Ace said."
Carl blinked and stayed silent before he opened his mouth. "Guys…I love you but you're scaring me sometimes."
"Better get used to it, Carl." Skyler nudged Carl's arm. "We had this mission on our head and need to finish it. Hey, what's with the fancy car?" Skyler pointed at a coming car.
The team turned to the coming car that stopped near the unique individuals before the back door opened and have a figure coming out.
He was described as the big boss. He was wearing a black outfit consisting of a black vest, black leather pants, black boots, a pair of sunglasses, and medium-size blonde hair. His presence was described as the big boss. Everyone on the campus stood straight with respect. They were safe from his glares because of those sunglasses.
He snapped his fingers as a command for the unique individuals to stand in front of him.
"Sir!"
Back to team ACES, everyone was surprised at this person's look and presence. Everyone except Ace.
"H-Holy…If we used video games terms, this is without a doubt our big boss." Carl said what he was capable to say.
"Pfft, I saw worse." Ace commented as he narrowed his eyes at the person. He recognized him as he was known as Wesker.
Now, that was his codename and not his actual name. They didn't get to know him a lot after they beat him last time and such, there wasn't a lot to say about him except in the first and only encounter they had.
Back to Wesker, he looked at what seemed like the second in command. They didn't look fazed as they were used to having these glares.
"Zander! Moira! Any updates?" Wesker ordered.
"Sir, we are having a great rise in our operations." The female known as Moira informed. "In terms of the supplies, I do not need to mention how admirable our operations are. However, in terms of recruits, many are ready for future operations and ready for any commands."
"Great, I'm glad that we made all of this progress. What else?" The black outfitted man said as he walked forward and entered the base with Zander and Moira behind him before the doors of the base got closed.
Back to team ACES, while Ace didn't flinch, the others were frightened and got anxious from what they heard. They weren't sure if continuing was the right decision because they would face a lot of problems.
"Okay, I'm out." Carl took a step backward but was pulled back by Ace.
"Shut up, the three of you." Ace whispered loudly. "I don't need to hear what you think. This bullshit will be done means it will be fucking done. If we didn't stop it, we would regret it later."
"Okay, leader, what do you suggest to deal with this madness?" Carl asked.
"Simple, I will sneak inside and problems will happen inside. When you hear the gunshot, you would beat our fellas here and keep them busy as much as possible while trying not to die. The best thing we could come out of this with broken bones is if Wesker ran away and didn't take all of the stuff." Ace explained.
"W-What?!" Skyler exclaimed in the lowest voice possible. "A-Ace, we will fight what might be above average troupes and those two while you go inside and get the cake for yourself!"
"If you wanted to go there instead, I won't mind." Ace pointed at the base.
"N-No, what I was saying-"
"Listen up, you're not at the level of encountering a big boss alone. We would do that together but we need to grab their attention or we get caught and they escape with these enormous amounts of loot. No offense." Ace explained.
"I'm afraid to say that Ace is right," Violet said. "We might need someone to keep him as busy as possible and work together to put him down." Violet activated her gauntlets. "Life would give us what's worse than this."
Ace smiled at Violet and nodded. "That's the spirit."
"Fine, you win." Carl sighed, "Tell me how will you sneak with them, Mr. Unknown?" Carl mentioned one of Ace's nicknames while turning at him but saw that he was there. "Huh?"
CES looked at the campus and was shocked to see their leader going around like a madman and no one was able to see him. Ace was going around them smoothly until he reached the small door that helps to enter the base from the inside.
The simple thing to say about CES is that their jaws nearly hit the ground from the shock.
"For fuck sake, Ace." Carl didn't contain and cursed.
…
On the inside of the base, Ace was maneuvering it in his quick steps and hiding his presence. A weird sense of Déjà vu came to him when he was walking into the place given how he sneaked inside this place before. He didn't care that much as he was taking down the guards silently to not deal with them later.
While Ace was taking down the guards, Wesker and his second in command didn't notice it and were checking everything and how the place was doing his work. It put a small smile on the blonde's face.
"Excellent effort, I knew I would count on you whenever I'm busy." Wesker complimented.
"It's an honor, sir," Zander replied.
"So, tell me, what is the status of team Delta?" Wesker asked.
"They were doing an outstanding performance in their operations," Moira revealed. "The operations they did were done without any hiccups."
"Good, I knew that I could put some trust in them. I wish I could meet them at the moment."
"Excuse me, sir, but they didn't return from their missions, yet. I presume that they didn't finish the mission or had some hiccups in the way." Moira explained.
Ace chuckled from away while choking a guard. He was like 'What would they say if they knew what happened' face.
"Seems like I would delay it for later," Wesker said before they entered a door to another room, Ace took the chance and used a quick method to beat the guards.
What was seen in the room was a place filled with workers organizing the stuff they stole with weapons on them. Wesker made a small chuckle admiring the place. It was filled with a variety of sources, ranging from raw dust to materials that could be used for later operations.
Wesker didn't participate in fights so much but he didn't have many challenges over the years. He would go for small and away cities for his plans to work for not grabbing so much attention with the chance of sending expert hunters to search in which the higher rank troupes might have a huge problem to reveal the operation. If he was able to continue like this, he would surpass anyone he come across, later. With his troupes or if he did the job by himself.
"Very excellent." Wesker turned to his second in command. "Soon or later, we will conquer the crime world in Vale and all of Remnant. No one would dare to stop us."
"But I dare."
Wesker and his second in command turned to the male voice. Suddenly, they saw the room empty and the workers were gone. Zander and Moira quickly turned their guard and looked for the source of the voice while Wesker was calm and collected.
"Just, who is to say something like that to him? Do you know who are you talking to?" Zander warned.
"I do, honey." The voice answered before he got silent again.
CLANG
The sound of metal getting bent had been heard from above them. In a quick reaction, they avoided the metal from hitting them as Zander and Moira rolled away while Wesker simply stepped aside. They looked around and saw Ace sitting on his sides with a small smirk on his face.
"Surprised?" Ace asked cockily before rolling himself to stand on the ground pointing Ivy and Orchid at them.
"And what does a teenager like you get himself into?" Moira asked back.
"Came to stop you, of course." Ace replied.
Zander and Moira didn't believe what they heard. Their faces were like 'What?' and having a teenager being all of that confident. Wesker, on the other hand, knew that Ace didn't look normal and was ready to take him seriously. Nobody would find this amount of courage to get there and stand to Wesker like that.
"You're certainly interesting, kid." Wesker narrowed his eyes slightly at Ace. "Getting here with a chance of backup to put me down."
"You could say that." Ace winked. "Although, we discovered you yesterday." Zander and Moira's eyes got wide open and Wesker narrowed his eyes more. "A certain redhead says here greetings from the prison." Ace pulled out a broker pair of glasses and threw them to the three in front of him.
Zander and Moira were taken back the most as they saw how serious the problem became before it started. The person he was referring to was Liz and her team. Slowly, they were having their hands towards their weapons and Wesker cracked his knuckles. A 3v1 showdown was about to happen.
This would be crazy. Or would be?
…
Back to ACES. They got a bit bored waiting for Ace.
"When would Ace send that sign?" Carl asked impatiently with his tone being a bit loud.
"Calm down, Carl. I'm sure Ace is sneaking…or probably got disarmed…o-or even-"
"Don't get started." Carl interrupted Skyler. "I want to finish this and get back to bed as soon as this finishes."
"You should start to stop being lazy, Carl." Violet pointed at her partner. "This is our first mission so we shouldn't get used to everything at first try but at least try to handle how certain missions can take days, weeks, or even months to finish."
"I-I know. But should he take that long?" Carl said a bit loudly while waving his hands at the bush, making someone from the black outfit notice it.
"C-Carl! Calm down before I punch you." Skyler exclaimed.
"HEY!" The trio turned to the sound of a male looking at them. "What are you doing here?"
They were silent for a few seconds before Skyler glared at Carl. "We would talk about it later." Skyler got up and punched the guy, sending him to the others to alarm them. "Now, let's put down some bad guys." Skyler activated The Meta Cavalierly to its Mace mode before jumping to the enemies.
On the other side, many troupes got alarmed and grabbed their weapons or put their guards up for the coming attack. Suddenly, Skyler came out of the trees and slammed her mace at the ground with Earth dust, making a shockwave and earthquake at the same time.
Skyler looked around and saw a couple of bad guys coming at her from the right so she tightened her grip and swung her weapon at them, making them fly while hurting them so much before she jumped at more with a mighty cry. Behind her were some aiming at her but Carl got into them and used his swing + semblance combo at one person to send him at the others and fly away with many weapons getting scattered around. Without breathing for a second, Violet came out and put her palms on the ground before she activated her semblance to have ice shards coming out of the grounds to hit many of them before she dodged an attack coming at her and counter it with a punch to send her away.
…
Inside the base, Ace was still standing at his place and aiming his gun at them while the three opponents in front of him were ready to move. However, Ace knew by that point that his team got revealed and started fighting.
BOOM
It didn't come out as a surprise for Ace as he knew it would happen.
"What the?" Zander and Moira looked behind him and looked back at Wesker who nodded lightly to give them the sign as they headed outside, leaving Ace and Wesker in a 1v1 fight.
"Looks like we're doing it alone." Ace pointed out.
Wesker chuckled lightly in response. "Kid, I'm no easy task." In a second, Wesker moved to the side quickly leaving a small purple trail behind him. Ace chuckled lightly as he knew Wesker was behind him.
"Oh, please."
Wesker threw his hit to Ace's back but instead, he hit the ground, cracking it as result. Wesker looked around carefully and saw Ace standing behind him and laughing.
"Honey, you're not the only one who can be quick."
…
It was chaos on the campus.
The trio was going hell out to the bad guys and some get back on their feet. Explosions, flying bodies, 3 teenagers going crazy beating their opponents, you name it.
Carl didn't like the idea of fighting all of this amount but after he was the reason for it in the first place, he was forced to fight and slowly started to get excited. Handling them was getting annoying but he didn't mind sweating this time. The blonde guitarist was having a mix of building his semblance and shooting dust at his opponents by using either the normal ones or elemental ones. The ax attacks were used but it used a simple portion of the building up soundwaves to use them when needed.
Violet was jumping around and using the dust in her gauntlets as effectively as possible. She was using it to hit many as she could with a simple 'high risk, high reward method. She also picked up weapons from the ground and started to use them for her benefit as a projectile or shooting. The turtle Faunus didn't spend a second using her strength to put down her opponents.
Skyler was having a top 5 lifetime moment. She was having her mace on fire for the first time in maybe a while and she loved every second of it. The excitement she had was bigger than any fight she had before and she loved it. Loved it more than fighting Sleeveless. Her mace mode in the Meta Cavalierly was getting some pump for the future.
On the battlefield, the trio was rocking.
"This is awesome!" Skyler exclaimed as she swung her hammer.
"You're right, girl!" Carl landed a dropkick and jumped off him. "And I wanted to finish this quick, boy, I feel HOT!"
"Next time, don't talk if we have something like this." Violet landed next to them and threw a grenade. The grenade's result was electricity coming out of it, shocking the individuals near it.
The trio continued fighting and beating their opponents. Chaos was all over the place with flying bodies and explosions filled the place until they were able to put them down.
Skyler put Meta on the ground and huffed. She noticed that she needed more training to handle all of this amount in one sitting though it was thrilling. "Finally, they were a lot!"
"You're tired? Come on, girl! I still have more adrenaline through my vines for more." Carl exclaimed as he raised his fists.
"Okay, guys, let's get inside and-"
"HEY!" The trio turned to the sound of Moira coming out with Zander as they were looking at the piles of bodies around the place with three tired teenagers standing in the middle. "What the hell?! You were able to beat all of them like that?!"
"And what about it?" Carl asked confidently, surprising Violet and Skyler. "We beat that team of yours. This would be a piece of cake."
"Some useless idiots. Not being able to beat three teenagers." Zander scoffed as he pulled his dual shotgun. "I will take care of this blonde guy myself."
"Let's see that, skull face." Carl charged forward like a blur. Carl swung his ax, making Zander and Moira dodge it before Carl swung back at Zander and pushed him away, leaving Moira with Violet and Skyler.
"What's with you boys doing weird stuff?" Violet stood in her fighting stance.
"A little high for him and your friend inside." Moira pulled a sub-machine gun with sharp knives before she charged forward.
…
Inside the base, Ace and Wesker have been fighting and getting hotter and tougher with each passing minute. They started to hurt each other more than the last time but it didn't stop them, it made them push forward. Wesker admitted that he started to try after he saw Ace able to react to his speed and handle his punches, making him more motivated to try more. Ace, on the other hand, was Ace. He was cocky in his talk and rough during the attack.
Both of them were standing away and looking at each other. Ace was having his smile on his face and Wesker was stoic and serious but secretly enjoying.
"Seems like you started to try, honey." Ace said as he fixed his stance. "I barely tried."
"Correct, but this confidence will lead to desolation, boy," Wesker said back. "Tell me, what's your name?"
"Dr. Frost, in your service." Ace winked. "Shall I freeze you in your place?"
"My pleasure." Wesker charged forward like a blur before Ace did the same.
As both got closer, both of them raised their fists and made contact with each other, making a strong shockwave that broke the windows with having purple aura coming out of Wesker and Sabrewulf Gauntlets' blue scratch coming out briefly. They didn't wait half a second before they used the other fists and legs and clashed as were both blocking and parrying each other.
It didn't take long enough before Ace dodged a fist and countered with a punch to Wesker's chest followed by a spinning kick to his face before he ended with an uppercut that made him fly briefly and fell on his face. Ace went to deliver a kick to his face but Wesker was quick enough and grabbed it before he elbowed his knee to stagger Ace before he punched him in the guts and threw him to an iron door.
Ace returned to his feet and dodged the fist from Wesker that landed on the door instead, making it fly away to another door at the other end of the room. Wesker turned and saw a coming kick he wasn't able to react in time to send him inside the room with Ace entering it.
The room they entered was having cells for prisoners but not many had prisoners in them. These cells had iron bars with a screen key on the wall. It didn't matter to Ace although it was new to him as he wasn't into getting inside it with his team and getting tortured by them.
Wesker jumped on his feet and pulled a white pistol and shot Ace. Ace was able to dodge them with ease before he punched Wesker's arm that had the gun in the same time it shot a bullet to hit the screen, making the locks of the rooms open. Wesker tried to use a mix of CQC and shooting with the gun at Ace but the blue-haired boy didn't have a problem dealing with it before Wesker kneed Ace in the guts.
However, Ace was able to catch it as he pushed Wesker slightly with a jab before he kneed Wesker's knee and pulled him to punch him in his face to send him face-first to the iron bars. Wesker tried to get back but Ace punched the back of his head to slam his head at the iron bar and hit it again with the elbow before he drove the blonde's face through the bars and warped his legs on his neck before he positioned himself on the ground and pushed Wesker to the celling so hard before he fell on his back on the stairs next to the broken iron door.
"Nnnhhh, what?" Ace heard a groan from the cell he was standing next to. He saw inside an old man probably late 50s or early 60s with a giant beard and stinky smell. He was fat but not too fat and wore a shirt for an old band, blue jeans. "What are you people doing? We're trying to sleep."
Ace entered to check the man and saw that he wasn't just stinky, he smelled like alcohol. "Sir, you okay?"
"I'm okay before you woke me up. What are you doing here and how did you find me?" The man answered before he asked back.
"Oh, excuse me for interrupting your precious sleep but I was fighting big boss, here." Ace pulled the man to his feet.
"Wait, you're what?" The man exclaimed as he moved outside and was barely able to walk to see Wesker laying on the ground, making him speechless. "You sure look strong, kiddo. This man kicked my ass before I land a punch."
Ace got confused at the man's statement. "W-What? How do a drunk and lost man do that?" Ace pointed at him.
"Hey! I can do things on my own and I can prove you." The man cracked his knuckles. "Now, let's put down that guy."
"Hey! Hey!" Ace stopped the man before he moved to Wesker. "That man can kick you back to the prison. Go and call for help while I handle Wesker."
"Kids these days." The man scoffed. "You stay and do what the adults should do."
"Listen up, old man!" Ace changed to his demonic manner and glowing red eyes, making the man step back before Ace returned to his normal voice. "He's an A-ranked threat you won't be able to deal with this state. You could help by calling the police to come here as quickly as possible and report that this place is full of stolen dust and materials. That could be helpful instead of preventing me from finishing him."
"Fine." The man sighed and went to the broken entrance.
"Okay, now what we-" SLAM Before he could react, a door got slammed to his face, sending them to the room they fought before as he landed in the middle of the room.
Ace groaned as he was getting on his feet. He looked to the source and saw the iron door coming at him. Ace reacted quickly and grabbed the Dust Decoded and cut the door in half. He looked up and saw Wesker coming out slowly but this time, he had some sort of metal gloves on his hands with purple circles on his fingers. Ace realized that he had this weapon and completely forgot it.
"I wasn't taking things so seriously but now, you're interesting, boy." Wesker stood in his stance. "We would have a bright discussion after this."
"Yeah, a very bright one." Ace chuckled before he clapped. "Nice hands you have. Wanna lend me a one?"
"Guaranteed," Wesker cracked his knuckles.
…
Carl had to admit that he should deal with the laziness problem later. He didn't think that getting to the battlefield and fighting like a madman against bad guys would have been this exciting. Though he owed an apology for the girls to start this fight in the first place.
Carl was keeping Zander on his toes and made him serious given how Carl didn't stop approaching him. Zander was using his shotgun that was able to reach a decent range to snipe Carl but the blonde didn't have a huge problem blocking it with Nevan.
"Come on, Skull Face! Are you gonna keep running like a rabbit?" Carl swung his ax at Zander. Zander rolled away from the swing, making it cut the tree that was behind him.
Zander reloaded both shotguns and took the chance to hit Carl which made a successful landing, staggering him in the process before he delivered a series of kicks and shots that Carl had a problem blocking many of them. Carl tried to push Zander away from him by using a portion of Hammering Echo and it was able to push him slightly. Carl tried to attack his opponent but Zander dodged him and shot at Carl's back, making him cry out of pain.
"Rabbit? The only rabbit here is the bugs like you and your friends." Zander mocked.
"I will show you who's the rabbit," Carl muttered as he channeled his aura through Nevan and used an aura slash alongside Hammering Echo to attack Zander.
While Carl thought this trick would work, he didn't expect that Zander would suddenly become a cloud of smoke which the attack went through it before he returned.
"Nice job, kid." Zander taunted. "You nearly got me there but my semblance can avoid this with ease."
Carl got slightly irritated and charged like a blur at Zander. Zander was able to block the ax with his shotgun but Carl's swings were strong and fast for him until one of the swings slashed through the shotgun on his right hand. Carl smirked lightly and went to go for another swing. Unfortunately, Zander turned to the cloud of smoke, making Carl go through it before Zander returned quickly to his human form and hit Carl's back head with the shotgun's handle, stunning Carl in the process.
"I like that you trying, kid." Zander chuckled lightly. "But you should have not messed with the wrong people." Zander pointed the shotgun at Carl's head.
While he was about to shoot, an Ice dust shot came and froze the shotgun and Zander's hand while having it stuck on the tree. Carl took the chance and grabbed Nevan before he used Hammering Echo with his swing. Zander didn't pay attention and took the hit to his chest, sending him flying while a shockwave came out from the impact and launched him to one of the empty trucks. As he landed, the impact made the walls of the truck while getting pushed with it as it nearly turned to the side before he fell to the ground when the truck stopped and landed normally.
Zander raised his head despite the pain he had and saw Carl heading at him. Carl aimed at Nevan and did his shooting trick to shoot a bullet. Zander didn't have anything but roll away from it but he got pushed slightly because of the explosion of the bullet when it made contact.
"Who's the rabbit, Skull Face?" Carl taunted back at Zander.
Zander growled and punched the ground before he pulled another pair of shotguns from under his cloak and aimed at Carl who was charging Hammering Echo.
BOOM
Before they did anything, an explosion erupted from the giant door of the base. Both of them turned to it and saw the door was down and some smoke with an individual coming out of it, making both confused before another one came out of the smoke flying and attacking the first person, resulting in a shockwave, making them surprised.
That was certainly unexpected.
…
"What's the matter, girls? Too slow to keep up with your heaviness?" Moira taunted.
At the same time, Violet and Skyler were fighting Moira and avoiding a lot of bullets. Just how much that sub-machine gun had?
Moira's taunt was pissing Violet off because of her shell. She might be called heavy but at the same time, she barely keeps up with Carl and Skyler when running. Skyler didn't get affected by them but it was doing it slowly if it meant her weapon or her weight. Both girls were hiding behind a jeep to take cover from the rain of bullets. Violet looked at Skyler and made a couple of signs on what to do next which Skyler nodded in understanding.
A few seconds later, Moira's weapon became out of ammo and both girls took the chance. Violet went inside her shell as Skyler carried her and jumped to the other side before charging at Moira. Moira reloaded quickly and started shooting which Skyler blocked quickly with Violet's shell until she got closer and threw Violet at their opponent. Moira sidestepped to dodge the shell and brought her attention to Skyler who was attacking with her ax. Violet quickly stopped the momentum with her hands and charged in Moira's direction to help Skyler.
Skyler was having a lot of difficulty landing a hit despite using the ax but Moira was quicker than her in this matter, showing that she needed more work. Moira didn't have much problem landing hits on Skyler as she countered with a bicycle kick after avoiding her ax swings before going for another attack. However, Violet stopped her quickly using Earth dust to push her away from the blue-haired girl as Violet stood face-to-face with her. Violet didn't go easy with Moira in her attacks as she was using everything she learned from this year to beat her female opponent.
Moira was able to keep up with her attacks and tried to counter them with shooting and knife attacks. Violet didn't have a lot of problem dodging and parrying them though the bullets that landed on her shell were annoying. It continued until both grabbed each other's hands and looked at each other. Violet smirked lightly as she used her gauntlets to shock her opponent with electricity before she punched her in the face, sending her away.
"You're good, turtle but beating me isn't for the likes of you," Moira said angrily.
"We will see about that." Moira turned to the voice of Skyler charging at her and ready to swing her hammer. As Skyler attacked, Moira dodged the attack but the result of the impact made a shockwave that sent her flying to Violet. Violet didn't waste a second and gave Moira an electric punch to send her back to her teammate that flipped the hammer and swung her hammer at Moira's back, sending her flying to her boss' car, breaking the glasses as a result.
Moira got irritated and pulled multiple bombs from her pockets before heading back to the duo. As both girls saw her coming, Moira threw a couple of bombs at them that varied from explosions, ice, and electricity. In a quick reaction, both girls jumped around dodging the bombs and trying to throw them away from them. Violet was using dust to destroy the bombs while Skyler treated them like baseballs and used the side of her hammerhead to send the bombs back to the purple-haired girl.
Moira was able to use them as distractions and approached Skyler who was late to react and sent her flying before she headed to the turtle Faunus. Violet saw Moira coming and changed the dust to ice and froze the ground to make her slip up. It worked as Moira wasn't able to control her speed from the ice before Violet gave her a clothesline using the momentum, making her roll on the ground from her remaining speed. While Moira tried to get back on her feet, she saw Violet approaching her quickly with her fist but she dodged it that cracked the ground as a result. Moira tried to counter it with her weapon but Violet was faster and gave her a hook to her guts and jabbed her face before she froze her legs to pin her.
"Stay in place!" Violet said as she went to deliver another ice shot which Moira dodged with her hands, making it go to Carl and his opponent.
Moira took the chance and head-butted her to stun Violet long enough to break the ice that she could break and tried to shoot her in the head. At the same time, a strong shockwave came from behind that hurt her ears as a result. While she was stunned, Skyler appeared out of nowhere and swung her hammer at Moira, making her lose some aura and sending her flying away in the process.
"You okay, Vi?" Skyler checked her friend.
"Bit dizzy but can keep up." Violet nodded.
"Let's finish this, then." Skyler pointed her hammerhead to Moira who was getting up.
"I appreciate this performance, girls but now I will finish you before you do." Moira cracked her neck.
BOOM
Just before they did anything, an explosion erupted and made the giant metal gate of the base fly to hit the ground with a lot of smoke coming out of it, making them turn to it. A few seconds after, a figure came out of it and landed on the metal gate, and huffed in tiresome.
To everyone surprise, it was Wesker who came out with many bruises and cuts on his face and clothes, making Zander and Moira stunned by the look of their leader being tired. Before anyone commented, Ace came out of the smoke with the Dust Decoded on his hands in Earth dust mode. The blade was mostly out of yellow material and had two pistons on it. Ace was in the air and attacked Wesker using the Dust Decoded. Wesker was able to dodge it, making Ace hit the metal surface, resulting in a very loud sound while at the same time, it didn't scratch the metal, it cut in half and continued to the forest, resulting in a small earthquake from one single impact.
His team and Wesker's second in command were shocked, to say the least from that crazy attack but it wasn't the only thing. Ace turned to Wesker and charged at him with a blinding speed. Wesker didn't have anything other than blocking it with his hands which resulted in a strong shockwave that sent him flying to the watchtower column, bending it in the process.
Wesker was stunned and fell to his knees as he looked at his metal gloves and saw a noticeable scratch on them, making them growl in response.
"What's the matter, Wesker? Got tired?" Ace taunted as he pointed the sword at the blonde man. "We still have a few more to finish, honey."
Wesker looked around and saw his second in command still fighting Ace's teammates. "What's wrong with you? You couldn't put down some children?"
"Forgive us, sir but they appeared to be more than what we thought especially since they knocked everyone out," Zander explained.
Wesker was furious and punched the ground so hard in frustration.
"So, how about you surrender Wesker and finish this before we get any worse than what we have here." Ace narrowed his eyes slightly.
"NEVER!" Wesker yelled. "I won't surrender just yet, child. I will make you surrender this time." Wesker turned to Zander and Moira. "Finish them!" Wesker ordered before he put his focus on Ace.
"Expected." Ace said before he turned the Dust Decoded back to normal and chose another body.
The sword was covered in a body of black and orange material that seemed like magnets and pointed the sword at a car next to Wesker. Suddenly, a wave of the blue circle came out and got attached to the car before it made the car float slightly from the ground Ace moved the sword to the opposite side, making the car fly towards Wesker at a high speed, taking him with it. While Ace was busy with Wesker, the others were still stunned before Ace's team took the chance and decided to take them off guard.
Carl used electricity dust on Zander who didn't react quickly and got electrified from it, giving Carl the chance to use stronger attacks. Carl used his combo attack with most of the built-up soundwaves and sent Zander flying away while crashing into a couple of stuff before landing next to a box with dust in it.
On the other side, Violet froze Moira's legs again to pin her and gave Skyler the chance to use her hammer which worked and landed her hit on Moira, sending her flying towards Zander and landing on him.
Before they registered what happened, Violet changed the dust in her gauntlets to fire and shot a fireball into the box. Zander and Moira were trying to get up and didn't pay attention to the coming fire and when they saw it, it was late.
BOOM ZAP BOOM
"GAHHH!" Both screamed in pain from the results of the explosion as it had fire and electricity dust to double the pain and send them flying in the air before landing on the ground unconscious with a broken aura for both.
Before CES celebrated, they turned to their leader if he was okay and he was. Despite avoiding a giant piece of metal from Ace's navigation with the magnet dust. Wesker was keeping on and didn't stand down to lose in front of Ace. He tried to do everything he had but Ace was able to keep up easily. It didn't help that his gloves weren't able to handle more because of the damage it got.
Ace wanted to finish this so he thought of using something else as he stopped and changed the Magnet dust to another dust. As the sword returned to normal, Ace chose the other type of dust to make a brown body with multiple gravity dust shards around it. Ace smirked as he pointed the sword at Wesker who was charging at him to make a weird dark purple glowing appear around Wesker's body that stopped him in place.
"Huh?" Wesker tried to move but he struggled to do so. "What type of technology is this?"
"You will see." Ace simply answered before he raised the sword.
Suddenly, Wesker starts floating in the air and still can't do anything. A few seconds later, Ace lowered his sword hard on the ground, making Wesker slam on the ground before Ace swung the sword around with Wesker hitting anything from trees to cars to walls, etc.
"Skyler! Your turn!" Ace exclaimed before he made the glowing effect on his blue-haired friend who nodded before she got launched in the air with her weapon.
As Skyler became higher than Wesker, she raised her mace and used dust with it before using the momentum and hitting Wesker so hard, that it made him land on the ground like a rocket, breaking his aura and probably bones in the process. Ace headed to Skyler's landing spot as she landed on her feet and joy-filled her face.
"Team combo, baby! Woohoo!" Skyler exclaimed in excitement before she got tackled by Ace's hug who hugged her affectional which made her blush lightly but didn't mind and hugged back.
"You did good doing that, girl." Ace said as he released his hug. "I knew our training would be handy."
"R-Right." Skyler nodded shyly before she and Ace saw Carl and Violet coming at them and hug them for a minute before releasing it.
"Damn, Ace! I'm surprised that you didn't die with him." Carl said with a small sarcastic tone.
"Eh, he was strong nonetheless, especially that he got serious every time we progress." Ace rubbed his back head sheepishly.
As they were about to continue talking, they heard the sound of police sirens, making CES unpleasant with that appearance.
"Don't worry." Ace assured. "Someone made a call."
…
As police were taking all of the unconscious bad guys, team ACES were resting and explaining what was happening. They were surprised to find a team of first-year hunters finding all of the hijacked materials from Wesker and his operations. They were going to bring all of them and send them back to the cities that got affected by these operations.
"Not bad as a first mission, you?" Ace commented as he drank water.
"Not bad?! THIS WAS AWESOME!" Skyler exclaimed happily. "Experiencing a real fight was awesome even if we got hurt but still."
"I agree with Skyler." Carl nodded. "If it wasn't me to start, we wouldn't have this thrill."
"Really? Because I expected it." Ace chuckled lightly, making them surprised. "What? Do you think this mission won't have hiccups? We should consider some of the points that happened, later."
"D-Didn't you trust us the entire time?!" Skyler asked.
"Kinda," Ace admitted. "You still need a lot of work."
"Yeah, right." Carl lowered his head in shame.
"Well, at least we didn't come out with broken bones," Violet commented.
"HEY, KID!" The team turned to an old man coming at them. "Hey, kid, come here for a sec. I want to say something."
CES looked at Ace in confusion before Ace said, "He's a man I helped when I was fighting Wesker. I will see him." Ace went to him before his team followed him to check the status of the man.
"Listen, kid. What's your name?" The man asked.
"Ace."
"Well then, Ace, my name is Andreas." The man known as Andreas shook Ace's hand. "Thank you very, very much for the help me and let me call the police. I wasn't able to move correctly from my state. After I saw the fight you and your friends were doing from away, you were right to keep me out of this and it's added to the rescuing me from the prison I was."
"You're welcome, I guess." Ace took the compliment.
While the old man was keeping his grip, he looked at Ace and saw his red eyes. For some reason, the man was seeing something familiar to him. He didn't know but he felt something.
"Say kid, did I see you before?"
"No," Ace shook his head. "People seem to say that given how I look like my father."
"No, not that." Andreas narrowed his eyes at Ace, with his narrow back. "I swear I sense of Déjà vu or whatever they call." A weird silence hit the place before it got broken.
"Well, I gotta head out and finish some business with people." The man shook Ace's hand one last time before he removed his grip and headed in an unknown direction while waving goodbye. "I hope we meet each other in the future."
"Me too, just remember to take a shower after." Ace waved back before he turned to his team. "Seems like a nice guy but drunk and dirty but nice nonetheless."
"Probably, how did you meet him?" Carl asked.
"I freed him from the prison inside the base and asked him to call for help." Ace pointed over his shoulder at the base. "I mean, there's nothing concerning about him and if he tried anything, I would put him down before he tried."
"Typical stuff from someone like you." Violet nudged Ace's shoulder lightly. "Anyway, let's go to grab our stuff and head back to Beacon."
Team ACES start walking back to the house to prepare for leaving later. Of course, the Breach happened while they were fighting Wesker and finished as safe as possible and Torchwick had been handed to the Atlas for later and Neo will rescue him later. It didn't matter that much as Ace would start his plan to stop Cinder from doing the Fall. However, he didn't want to rush things up or things would fall apart than planned.
"So, Carl, how about we do some singing?" Ace offered.
Carl smiled and nodded immediately, "Why the fuck not? What do you want to do?"
AN: Finally!
Shit, man. Talk about another lazy writing with weird progress in the last couple of days. I have been having a lot of fun writing lately in writing the fights. I don't know why but something about it was more fun than usual.
Anyways, another OC got introduced to the story? Yes, I have a plan for him given how I was talking in Discord about OCs with other people. Whoever I was talking to within Discord that reads this and doesn't believe me, you weren't there when I mentioned him. I will introduce more of him in the future, don't worry. Probably the same with Wesker and his second in command. Who knows? There will be more OCs in the future however but they will not be introduced until the next 4 or 5 chapters post V3. I will leave you to predict who will be from and whatnot until the time comes.
You know, I want to continue writing this story more but I feel like I will have problems continuing it alone in the future given how I do this alone without any help whatsoever. It will be very problematic when the story gets to more important plots and people are desperately waiting for what might happen when my story gets bigger than what I have at the moment. Which's a problem given how I feel like nobody cares about my story. I don't know if it was me or the idea of using my OC but I feel like when I finish this, I will barely have any support compared to other stories. I'm a weird man or that's something with other fanfic writers.
Anyways, hope you like this chapter and don't forget to tell me your opinion on it.
Sincerely, Eslam.
