A dead silence had fallen both inside and outside the mansion. Everyone around watched with bated breath as Klaus Mikaelson and Steve Smith, God himself, glared at one another, their chests rising and falling.

Angelica's breathing was just as heavy as she watched her lover and grandfather out the window, trying to stay calm, her parents watching it with her, although this was not as comforting as it normally would be, considering the current state of their relationship. However, when Ellie reached her hand out, her daughter took it and gripped it tight. "Do you think it's true, Mom?" She asked. "Do you…do you think Klaus discovered I was his mate?"

"It would certainly explain a lot of things, " Ellie whispered, in an attempt to stop Lucifer from hearing the conversation as he looked out a window several feet away.

As they watched, Klaus took a few steps forward toward Steve and pumped his shotgun a few times. "What?" He asked. "Nothing to say, old man?"

An uncomfortable chuckle escaped Steve's lips. "You've lost your mind, Klaus Mikaelson! Everything you're saying is complete nonsense! I don't know what on earth would make you believe that my granddaughter is your mate!"

"Really?" Klaus asked, raising an eyebrow. "Would you be willing to swear on all of heaven that she isn't? Would you swear in front of everyone here tonight that you didn't put us together a long time ago, meant us to be together for all eternity, then tore us apart out of pure spite?"

Steve bit his bottom lip and frowned, but otherwise said nothing.

"This isn't gonna end well," Avery whispered to Gwen as she nervously rubbed her hands.

"Well, if it doesn't, at least we know I'll be here to pick up the bodies," Azrael sighed and put a supportive hand on her sister's back.

Avery winced and stomped her foot. "I know you mean that as a joke, Azrael, but it's really not funny." She paused and eyed her sister, who kept waving her hand around in a strange way. "Why do you keep doing that?"

"It's a way for me to get souls while I'm standing right here," Azrael told her. "And that's all you need to know, really. It's the compromise Dad and I worked out so I could do my job and have some sort of life, even as people die every minute."

"That Klaus Mikaelson really seems set on claiming our Angelica, that's for sure," Gwen observed with a grin. "I admit that I was nervous at first because we all know he's had his share of failed relationships and I didn't relish Angelica being added to the total, but now that I'm seeing all the effort he's making to get her back, I have to wonder if your father won't lose this battle."

"I agree," Avery nodded. "And frankly, that's what I'm worried about: he's gonna lose and because he's not used to it, he won't be a good sport."

"Why would I trap my granddaughter with you when the only thing you do with women is make them miserable keeping them with you when things would be better for them elsewhere?" Steve spat.

"That was only the case because none of them were my true mate," Klaus countered. "They weren't the one I was meant to be with. You made sure of that, didn't you? You let it be done and then changed your mind and ruined my entire destiny!" His teeth were bared, and he was just aching to strangle the older man.

"I would never do such a foolish thing," Steve returned, more calmly this time as he lied through his teeth.

"He's truly in love with my niece," Selina whispered to Amy as they both observed the scene

"I think you're right," Amy nodded and put a hand on her belly. "He didn't use a tank to save either of us." She shrugged.

"Yeah," Selina agreed. "You have a point there."

Amy cleared her throat. "I was angry for a really long time about what Klaus did to me. I thought I would never be able to forgive him and that he was irredeemable. But apparently he loves Angelica, and she sees something in him that we never could. So, I'm happy for them."

"I am too," Selina nodded. "But let's hope this doesn't lead to death and bloodshed so they can actually enjoy being together." She sighed.

Finally, Angelica turned from the window, took a deep breath, and strode over to her father. "Is this whole business about Klaus and me the truth?" She questioned. "And don't you dare lie to me!"

"Of course, it's not the truth," Lucifer shook his head and tried to hide a nervous chuckle. "Your grandfather has made many mistakes in his existence, as we both know, but I very much doubt he'd make one as big or stupid as setting you up for life with someone like Klaus Mikaelson!" He paused. "And honestly, the idea of werewolves having mates is a complete myth. A story that was spread around to help werewolves increase their numbers. That's clearly not a problem now. Do you honestly believe that there are werewolves running around in the woods now in search of their better half?"

"That's not an answer!" Angelica snapped, hands on her hips. "Answer me, Father!"

Ellie smirked. "Don't bet on getting an answer out of either your father or grandfather, sweetie. Because it's the truth and neither of them want to admit it! Of course, the idea of your grandfather deciding a woman's romantic fate is something he doesn't want to think about!" She spat perniciously. "I mean, he totally benefited from your grandfather picking a young woman to stick in his bed and call it 'destiny'." She snorted. "It's not like you have werewolf blood inside you."

"Close your damn mouth, Eleanor!" Lucifer cried. "You could have left any time. It's not like you were actually, literally stuck with me."

"Yes, I know that now," Ellie nodded. "But when I was young and foolish and inexperienced, it was easy for you to just wave shiny stuff and sex in my face and make me forget, wasn't it? It wasn't like you took pains to remind me that I had options!"

"Can we focus?" Angelica cried. "I don't know what you're saying, Mama. I do have werewolf blood in me!"

"I know that sweetheart," Ellie assured her. "And your father knows it too." She smirked. "The fact that your grandfather changed his mind about you and Klaus means that you would have been happy with him, which would have interfered with your grandfather's plan to have you be the band-aid for everything bad he did to your father. Cause I mean, if you were happy with Klaus, why would you want to spend day and night coddling your father? Your grandfather relished the idea of using you as a way for him to run away from his own part in your father's troubles. Just as your father would much rather cling to you than take a risk and put his anger where it really belongs because it's much easier to control you!"

"Eleanor!" Lucifer shouted furiously.

"What?" Ellie asked, eyes narrowed. "You wanted me back, you have me back. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Deal with it!" She shrugged, completely unaffected by his anger.

"I can't take this anymore," Angie huffed and grabbed the door handle, pulling the front door open.

"Angelica Eve Morningstar, you come back here!" Lucifer called. But she ignored him and was already out the door before he'd even finished shouting.

"Well, look at that," Ellie smirked. "It looks like your daughter has a mind of her own, Lucifer. Proud of her, you hypocrite?"

"Oh, shut the fuck up," Lucifer hissed.

As Angelica hopped off the porch and ran toward the tank, Klaus grinned. "Angel!" He called out. She turned and gave him a warm smile and then quickly strode over to her grandfather.

"Is it true?" She asked. "Am I Klaus' mate, Grandfather?"

"I think you know the answer to that," Klaus told her as he lowered his shotgun.

Everyone was looking at Angelica and Steve now.

"Well?" Angie snapped. "Answer me, damn it! And don't even think about lying to me. After everything you've put me through, the very least you owe me is the truth about all this!"

Steve lowered his head in shame. "It's not as easy as that. It's complicated, dear. Very complicated."

"There you go!" Klaus cried. "Angel, he's basically telling you that I'm right. That all this is true! That's why both your father and grandfather have kept you away from me all this time!"

Angelica stared at Klaus for what seemed like ages before asking, "Is that the only reason why you want me with you? Because I'm your mate? You don't have any obligation to be with me, you know. You can choose someone better." She looked down at the ground and he came over and put some fingers under her chin, making her look him in the eyes.

"Of course not," he murmured, the shame in her eyes at what she thought he'd been forced into hurting him deeply. "I mean, look!" He gestured at the tank. "There is a fucking war tank on your father's front lawn, Angelica! You think I would go to all the trouble if I was only with you out of some stupid obligation?"

"Maybe you'll get tired of me," she shrugged, tears filling her eyes. "I know I'm dull and take more than I give, but…"

"Angelica, look at me, what have I called you from the start?" Klaus asked her firmly.

She sniffled. "You…you call me 'Angel'. Only time I ever believed I was worthy of it too." She then gave him a smile and wiped tears from her cheeks.

"Exactly," Klaus nodded. "I know it's cheesy and stupid, but, you truly are my angel, love. I am, against all odds, after I swore to myself that I never would be…in love with you." He shared this in front of everyone, not giving a rat's ass if her father and grandfather were listening.

Meanwhile, Angelica was biting her lip and trying hard not to smile. Then she turned to Steve. "Grandfather? Regardless of if I'm his mate or not, I'm going to leave here with Klaus tonight. And it doesn't have anything to do with decisions about us that you did or undid. I want to be with him because he makes me happy. I choose him. I choose the man who accepts me the way I am." She paused. "So please…just tell me the truth."

"It's true," Avery took a step forward and gave Steve some relief after all the color left his face. "You really are Klaus' mate."

"Avery," Steve whispered. "What are you doing?"

Avery shrugged. "Even after all the trouble you caused, someone should stand by you. Have faith in you. So here I am. It's the right thing to do, I think." She paused. "You know what you have to do now."

Steve nodded and turned to face his granddaughter. "It's true, dear," he nodded. "Avery and Klaus are correct. You are, absolutely, and without a doubt, Klaus' mate. You were destined to be with him once you were born. But in the meantime, he hurt, manipulated, and discarded other women and men through the years, and I decided that maybe…maybe it would be safer for you to be with someone else."

"I was like that because I wasn't with my mate!" Klaus cried. "You set me up with someone who was born hundreds of years after me! Did you expect me to live under a rock all that time?"

Angelica's jaw dropped. "So…instead of letting me make decisions about my relationship for myself, because surely you knew too that I would be a sensible person who wouldn't hold for nonsense, you just decided to make me miserable my whole life? To make me go about my day to day feeling like a part of me was missing?"

Steve nodded. "I'm sorry," he apologized. "But at the time, it truly felt like the right thing to do."

Angelica strode forward and looked deeply into her grandfather's eyes. "I'm done with you. I'm done with you being a self-serving jackass and feeling like you can just do whatever you want with my life to save your own ass! I'm sick of being used as a way to avoid your responsibility to my father. I love him, but I can't do it anymore. You fucked him up and turned him into someone I don't know and…" her voice broke, and she wiped a few tears from her eyes. "…and who I don't think I can love anymore. I'm not even sure he loves me. So, you fix him. I never want to see you again! Or my father either, as long as he keeps this crap up. You two deserve each other. Do you hear me?"

Steve nodded and Avery put her arm around him to give him courage.

Klaus' chest was rising up and down, his breath picking up with each step she took, coming toward him, until she picked up speed at last and threw herself into his arms.

"Oh," he smiled and chuckled, lifting her up in the air. "Looks to me like I've got you in my arms again, Angel," he said and held her close as he kissed her forehead.

"I'm sorry I didn't call," she began sobbing uncontrollably. "I wanted to tell you something, anything, to come back to you. But he was threatening to kill you, and-"

"Shhhh!" Klaus put a finger on her lips. "It's all right, Angel. I figured that part out all by myself." He set her down on her feet and took her face in his hands. "Are you all right? Did he hurt you?"

"No, I'm good," Angelica shook her head and sniffled. "But I have something I have to tell you. I hope you won't be mad."

"I won't be mad," Klaus shook his head. "Why would I be mad?" He grinned.

"Well, I…I'm pregnant," she confessed and put her hands on her belly.

"Of course, you are," he told her. "A week on the island with no clothes and no protection?" He shrugged. "I would be shocked if you weren't pregnant."

"And that's all you have to say, Mr. Mikaelson?" She remarked before punching his arm.

"I just saved you from hell, remember?" He teased. "Of course, that's all I'll say. Not much more to it since we fucked like rabbits. At least one of my swimmers had to reach its destination." He chuckled. "You're pregnant and I'm so happy you are." He then kissed her softly.

"I am too, but…" she shook her head. "I'm also so scared!"

"Don't be," he told her, holding out his hand. "We're in this together. And I think…I think it's time for us to go home now."

Meanwhile, Elijah turned to Selina, who was grinning. "Did you know about that? Did you know she was pregnant?"

"Yes," Selina told him, unapologetic. "But she wanted me to keep the secret to myself and I would like to think that at least sometimes I'm capable of doing that."

"And what other secrets are you hiding, my darling wife?" Elijah asked as his eyes widened in shock.

"There are no more secrets," Selina said and gave Kol and Amy a wink. "Or at least I think there aren't."

From her spot by the window, Ellie smiled as she watched it all unfold, wiping a tear from her cheek. Angelica would be happy with Klaus. She could feel it.

"Checkmate," she told her husband. "Looks like your daughter is free!" She raised her chin proudly as she spoke.

"Over my dead body," he hissed, his eyes red. Then he opened the door and shouted at his daughter's retreating back. "Angelica, if you leave, it's forever! Choose wisely!"

"Him," Angelica said without turning around. "If you're forcing me to choose, it's always going to be him. And if you want us to be apart forever because of it, then we will be. Farewell, Father." Then, without looking to see his reaction, she got into Elijah's car (he'd offered to drive them home) and shut the door hard taking several deep breaths as the car drove her away from the only place (even counting her house with Sammy) that she'd ever truly thought of as 'home'.

Klaus unlocked the front door of the hacienda, then opened it and let Angie go in ahead of him. Then she turned and gave him a small smile, which he immediately returned.

"Welcome back home, Angelica."

"Thank you," she replied, looking at her shoes. "But…this is your home, not mine."

"You know perfectly well that it's yours too," he corrected her. "I think you've known that in your heart for a long time now."

She blushed and dragged herself to the living room, pausing at the threshold, wrapping her arms around herself and closing her eyes, starting a little when she felt Klaus' strong arms encircle her shaking body, his chin resting on her head. "It'll be okay," he told her. "You're shaking like a leaf, but it'll be all right. I'll be here and…I'll take care of you." He gently rubbed her arms to get blood flowing.

"I'm…I'm so sorry," she apologized again, her eyes filling up with tears as she shook her head. "I just wanted to keep you safe at all costs. I had my phone, but I couldn't call you or listen to your messages because I knew that the second I heard your voice, I would give in, run away from the mansion, and then once my father discovered I was gone, he would kill you. And I couldn't let that happen."

"You don't need to be sorry, love," he reassured her and kissed her hair. "Now's the time to leave this hell behind you and let your father rot in the mess he created by his own choosing, You can build your own life. I think it's time, don't you?" He turned her so she was facing him. "I know you. I know this is going to be hard and the little hamster is going to keep turning in his wheel in your head as you wonder if what you did was right or wrong. Don't do that. Don't let this mess destroy you. Do you hear me? It's your father and your grandfather's mess they made eons ago, and it has nothing to do with you!" He put his hand under her chin to raise her gaze to his.

Angelica had tears in her eyes but gave him a smile anyway. "I'll try," she promised. "I left so fast that I didn't even think to grab my phone or my handbag. Mom was with me and…and…"

"Your mother was there?" Klaus asked, dumbfounded. "I thought she would gotten her own place by now."

"Well, yes and no. She got a new job at the council and a new place, but…she was at the mansion when I left."

"I'm sure she'll be able to send you your things then, without you having to go back yourself. Or me. I don't think either of us would be welcome now."

"Klaus, listen to me," Angelica urged. "Something about my parents feels…not quite right. She told me she wants to give their marriage another try. Does that make any sense to you after everything? It doesn't to me."

Eyes narrowed, Klaus gave this news a thought. "That's really strange. I'm about to say something that you're not gonna like, but don't bite my head off, okay?"

"I promise I won't be mad," she nodded.

"Your mother seems to be very fond of Julian Johnson. She's kissing the guy. Laughing with him," Klaus remarked as Angelica rolled her eyes.

"Don't you roll your eyes at me! It's not like your father is so virtuous these days."

"I know, I know!" Angelica spat, battling with her feelings as she paced back and forth on the Persian rug. "I know they're together, but don't expect me to be his fan for at least a century or two."

"That soon?" Klaus grinned. "How big of you!" He chuckled.

"That's not funny!" Angelica stomped one foot and then the other on the rug.

"Okay, okay, back to the situation at hand. Why would your mother go back to your father? It makes no sense when she can barely look him in the eye or be in the same room as him."

"I don't know," Angelica shrugged. "And it's really making me nervous." She began to bite her nails. "What if he threatened her or hurt her or something?"

Klaus took her by the shoulders. "I know you're upset, love, and I am in no way trying to ignore that, but you've been through a lot, so…at least for today, can I be a little selfish and just enjoy the fact that you're here in my arms again? That we're together? Tomorrow we'll see what we can do for your mother, all right?"

"Okay." Angelica sobbed. "But I…I bet you must hate me, and I don't blame you. We made that stupid, stupid sex agreement, and that's all it was supposed to be. Simple and easy. But then things got deeper, and I brought problems into your life that you shouldn't have to deal with, and I'm sorry!"

Klaus chuckled. "Oh, love, I've created problems for myself all my life. You didn't add to them! You made them better by being your lovely self!" He chuckled and pulled her onto the sofa with. "As for the rest, our agreement was not stupid! It allowed me to bring an intelligent, beautiful, passionate sexy woman into my bed!" He lay down on the sofa and gestured for her to do the same, his arms going around her waist and his head tucked into the hollow of her right shoulder.

"And then…" she continued as if she hadn't heard his praise. "Our fun, sexy island vacation got ruined by the fact that you found out I was your mate and you're stuck with me!" She cried, voice full of pain. "You're stuck with a needy, selfish, high maintenance brat whose personality was crafted by the two most selfish men on earth! Good luck to you!"

"Oh, thank you," he teased. "I just know it'll be a pure joy!"

"Why are you laughing?" She cried, then stared into his gray eyes. "I don't even know why you want me. Are you sure?"

"Well, did you see the tank on your father's lawn?" He asked.

"Yeah," she chuckled. "It was kind of hard to miss if you ask me."

"Well, you ask anyone who knows me, and they'll tell you that I've never done anything like that for a woman before. It's a clear declaration of lo—"

"Shush!" Angelica cut him off and put a finger on his lips

Klaus grabbed her hand and kissed her fingers. "All right, so you're not ready to say it yet, even if you know how you feel about us in your heart?" He asked with a smile. "All right, I can wait. In the meantime, if you don't want me to say it, I'll show it by taking care of you and the baby." He gently placed his hand on her stomach. "I bet it'll be a beautiful little girl."

"How can this be so easy for you?" Angelica asked. "I'm freaking out! I'll be a terrible girlfriend, and an even worse mother, so…I mean, did you know my father has been talking to my son, Shane, and he hates me? It seems like he feels I selfishly abandoned his father for my own personal pleasure when I did not at all, but he won't give me the chance to explain, and-" she paused to take a breath, narrowing her eyes at Klaus, who looked ready to speak.

"Yes, I am aware of the irony of the situation so just shut up, all right?"

Klaus pursed his lips and watched her as she kept going.

"So as you can see…I've failed before as a mother, and I just…I walked out on Sammy when he wanted us to get married, which is why I'll be a crappy whatever the heck we are, and-"

"Did he ask you if you wanted to get married before he proposed?"

"No," Angelica shook her head. "In fact, he knew how against it I was, but it was his way or the highway! He wouldn't even compromise and do it at a courthouse!"

"See, there you go!" Klaus told her. "He was inconsiderate of your feelings, which were long-standing, and completely ignored your attempt at compromise, so I think you were completely within your rights to leave like you did." He hugged her close. "I know you worry about being selfish, but your feelings matter too. And if you didn't want to get married in some big fancy wedding with a gazillion people, he should have taken your feelings to consideration."

She paused her pacing and spun around to stare at him. "Really? Do you really think that? That I can…say that I want things and people should at least hear me out?"

"Yes," Klaus nodded.

"Thank you!" She grinned and ran to him, burying her face in his neck. "Thank you so much for saying that!"

"You're welcome," he murmured and kissed her hair. "As for the rest, I don't think you'll be a terrible mother or girlfriend. Especially now that you're with your mate." He winked and she rolled her eyes. That was his answer to everything. "But you don't have to worry about that. Now we can just enjoy being like this." He grinned.

She looked up at him, a timid smile brightening her face as she relaxed in his arms and put her arms around him.

As soon as they reached the elevator to take them up to the penthouse floor, Kol called it up, and when the doors opened, he gestured at Amy to go ahead of him.

"After you, Mrs. Mikaelson," he told her slyly.

She rolled her eyes and entered the small elevator, chin raised, and arms crossed over her chest. He then followed her inside, pressed the right button, and soon they were on their way to the penthouse.

"Would you not call me Mrs. Mikaelson?" Amy hissed. "You know witches don't take their husbands' names!"

"I know that," Kol nodded. "I just wanted to rile up like you did with me earlier when you wore that black dress," he teased with a grin.

Amy sighed. "The strangest things amuse you," she observed. "But, whatever."

"Oh, believe me, darling, we haven't gotten to the most amusing part of the evening yet," he replied perniciously as she blushed and looked at her feet so she could avoid his gaze.

"As for who will take who's name when we're married, my father might kill me, but I have no objection to taking yours. Kol Mikaelson Burke has a lovely ring to it, don't you think? And based on all the good you've done for the witch community, as well as how wonderful you are, it's a real honor to be your husband."

"Oh, stop," Amy told him, although she was secretly very touched by his words. "I haven't done the magical community any good for years! Not since Klaus had to turn me into a vampire and then people stopped trusting me, so I had to quit my therapy and life coaching businesses. Now you're just buttering me up, but I'll have you know that won't get me into your bed!"

"You know that's not why I'm doing it," he purred, running a finger down her neck. "I don't need to flatter you to get you into my bed. You usually come to me of your own free will." He chuckled as the elevator doors opened on the penthouse floor

Amy glared at her lawfully wedded husband before stomping from the elevator cabin and then jogging to her apartment door.

"And just where do you think you're going?" He asked, leaning his body against the wall nearby and smirking. She didn't like the look in his eyes as they roamed her body. He was probably picturing her naked.

"Where do you think?" She wanted to know. "I'm going to my apartment! Goodnight!" She turned away from him and began rooting around in her small clutch bag for her key. But when she stuck it in the lock, no matter how she jiggled it, or how many times she took the key out and put it in, the key wouldn't fit.

Then she heard Kol laughing.

"What's so funny?" She demanded. "Why is it hilarious to you that my key won't work? I need to figure out why that is!"

"Yes, it's really strange," Kol pretended to think. "Maybe it's your powers telling you to come home with your husband." He paused, a grin curving his lips as his hand ran down her back and over her bottom. "Maybe I changed the locks."

Amy went pale and swayed on her feet. "Excuse me? You what? You can't just do that without telling me! How'd you even convince the landlord?"

"Well, it wasn't hard to convince him that you, as my new wife, had decided to move into the penthouse with me," Kol explained. "I had the locks changed and a set of new keys made for Natalie."

"And me!" Amy snapped, hands on her hips. "Kol Mikaelson, you give me another set of those keys this minute, damn it!"

"No can do!" He shook his head. He knew he was torturing her, and that it probably was, in some ways, not the best start to their marriage, but being pushed like this was good for her. Good for her, and fun for him.

"If I don't have keys, how will I get my things? Did you think about how my clothes are in my bedroom in that apartment?"

"No, they aren't!" He shook his head. "All your stuff is in our penthouse, so the smaller place is completely Natalie's. You have no real reason to go back there besides visiting."

"You had no right to do this without telling me first," she snapped, breathing heavily. "You had no right!"

"Now, now, calm down," he reminded her. "Don't let your blood pressure get high. Our son wouldn't like it. And I have all the rights in the world now that I'm your dearly beloved husband. Why would you want to live anywhere else than with me?" He paused. "I'm sure if you asked Natalie, she'd give you your own set of keys to her new apartment. It wouldn't be good of me to make the decision for her."

"You. Are. A. Despicable. Man!" She lashed out and tried to kick him, but he gracefully jumped out of the way.

"A despicable, sexy man?" He tilted his head to the side and grinned. "A man you can't wait to ride in your marriage bed? In our bed, with all the passion consuming you right now?

"Fuck you!" She spat, then spun gracefully away from him and strode over to the door of what used to be her apartment

"Of course," he grinned and followed her. "That's the point of a wedding night, darling."

She shook her head and backed up against a wall, sliding downward into a sitting position on the floor. "No, thank you. I think that I'll just wait here for Natalie to come back, since that's what I have to do now."

"Well, all right, but it's going to be a while," he told her. "I asked her when she would be around to take her new keys, and she told me that she and Milo Morningstar are going out to a movie with some of their friends. They're not going to be back for a while, and I hate the idea of you sitting all alone out here for hours!" He heaved an exaggerated sigh to make her think he was deeply troubled by these latest developments. "I know this is a change, and it's scary, but what better way is there to deal with it then by jumping in with both feet? You know you can trust me." He held out a hand to her.

"Can I? I mean, you did all this without telling me!" Amy cried. "If you wanted me to trust you, you shouldn't have done that! So yeah, I think I'll just stay here. I am capable of being a very patient woman!" She swatted his hand away.

"I can be patient too, Amy Burke. So can I, darling wife." He gave her a wink and burst into laughter before striding over to open the door of the penthouse. "When you're done pouting, I'll be inside. Probably taking a bath. Or, depending on how long you take, I might already be in bed…naked."

"Oh, yeah?" Amy asked, trying not to get riled up. "Well, there's always a chance you'll drown in the tub before that happens, and I hope you do!" Then she growled as all her wish got in response was a chuckle from Kol at her expense.

After what seemed like forever, Amy took a look at her gold watch as she swore under her breath. Apparently, she'd been sitting here on the stupid, hard, and very cold floor for a whole hour now! And to make matters worse, every phone call she'd made to Natalie had gone straight to voicemail. She was truly at a movie theater…just like Kol had said!

She growled furiously and stood up. She'd enough. Taking a deep breath, she realized she had no choice but to swallow her pride and knock on her husband's door, asking him for somewhere to stay until Natalie came back. But only until then. She walked down the corridor to knock on the penthouse door, but soon discovered that she didn't need to. It was ajar. Probably had been for ages.

Rolling her eyes, she pushed the door open enough to let herself inside and shut it gently behind her back. "Kol?" She yelled, getting no response. "I'm…I'm inside. It's not a burglar, I swear! Natalie isn't back yet, so…I thought I'd wait in here. Is that all right with you?"

Still no response.

She dropped her clutch bag on the table and made her way to the large windows, taking a moment to admire the view from the panoramic windows before resuming her search for Kol. Where in the heck was he?

Taking a turn down a small corridor, she headed to the master bedroom, her jaw dropping and her body freezing when she found her husband at last: naked as the day he was born, throwing a towel on an armchair,

"I…" She blinked rapidly. "I called your name, but you didn't answer me," she explained as her gaze slid down his body and locked on his penis. It was magnificent.

One side of his mouth went up. "I told you that I was taking a bath. And you don't need to call out for me. This is your home too, darling. And it always has been."

"Well, not officially," Amy responded, biting her lip as she tried not to look down south and failed miserably.

Then he strode over to her. "Can I help you?" He asked. "Can you see anything you like, need, or desperately want inside of you?"

"I…I don't know what you're talking about," she managed to get out, shrugging nonchalantly as a deep redness colored her cheeks.

He grinned and slowly leaned his upper body near hers, his five o'clock shadow brushing her cheek.

She closed her eyes, letting out a cry as her breathing picked up.

"There's no shame in admitting you want your husband so much that you can't stop staring at him," Kol told her. Then he looked down before putting his lips against her ear and biting her earlobe. "Your panties are wet, you know."

She set both her palms on his bulging chest, slowly sliding her fingers along the bare skin, panting heavily all the while. Then she shook her head and pushed him away.

"No!" She spat and stabbed a finger in his direction. "Stop!"

"What did I do?" He asked. "You know, you can be the most exasperating woman. I'll be on my bed pleasuring myself until it all becomes too much, and you come back. I'll be ready for you to ride me hard then." He gave her a wink, then went over to the bed and began to do just that.

"You…you're impossible!" She cried, then turned on her heel and strode back to the living room, where she paced back and forth in frustration and repeatedly stomped her feet, before grabbing one handful of curls in each hand. He…he could enrage her like no man ever had before. He treated her like she was some sort of…sex toy!" She deserved more than that. To hell with the fact that they were married, and to hell with him!

She started to get angry again, then realized it wouldn't do any good. It would just make her feel worse. Then she stopped, took a deep breath, and looked down the corridor, biting her lips as she slid her hand into her panties and rubbed herself a little. Kol was right, damn him, her panties were soaked. And that wasn't all. Her blood pressure was rising, her skin was breaking out, her hormones were all over the place…and she was horny as could be.

Amy growled in frustration when she realized it meant that only he could satisfy the strong sexual urge that overcame her. She retraced her steps to the bedroom suite, opening the door enough so that she could look at him, but he couldn't see her. Of course, he was still touching himself. And enjoying it too.

His moans aroused her even more, and she began rubbing herself again, trying not to cry out too much so he wouldn't become an actual active participant in what she was doing. But she failed as she started building up toward release.

"What took you so long?" He asked as he clicked his tongue and picked her up before taking her to his bed and giving her a spanking. "That was very naughty of you to pleasure yourself without me," he told her before turning her over on her back, so she was looking into her eyes. They were both panting heavily.

"I'm not sorry," she whispered, hoping it would make him angry and he would forge the whole thing.

He kissed her soundly after pulling her up to sit and she slapped him. "Stop it, Kol. Clearly, you're not going to give up on this, so…" she unzipped the dress and then removed the rest of her clothes. "Let's get it over with."

"Well, all right," he nodded, not at all bothered by her sharp manner. "It's taken long enough to make you my lawful wife, darling." He took her hand and helped her straddle his thighs. "There's no way this wedding won't be consummated."

"Whatever," Amy huffed. "Those are just pretty words!" She put both hands on his chest and pushed so that he was lying on his back on the bed. It seemed to be something he was enjoying immensely, which irritated her to no end. His laughter was particularly annoying. "Now, to make myself absolutely clear, this doesn't mean anything. I'm just scratching an itch. Nothing more."

"Fine," Kol agreed. "I don't mind scratching your itches!" He felt her slide over his length. "Fuck it, darling. You're so beautiful!" He raised his hips to thrust hard inside her and kissed her soundly.

"Oh, Kol," she moaned, leaning her head back and closing her eyes as she began to ride him.

"Do you know how long I've waited to make you mine, Amy?" He asked her between kisses. "Against all logic, against all sense, for years and years, you were always on my mind. I knew you were the one for me!"

"Don't…don't say that," she commanded, kissing him again and nipping his earlobe before putting both his hands on her breasts.

He chuckled. "You know, you're a very naughty woman, and I like it!" He gently slid his thumb over her erect nipples and gave each one a squeeze, causing her to cry out his name.

"I…I'm a very good woman," she protested after. "I'm not naughty at all. This is all your fault!" She grinded against him some more, quickly, desperately.

Suddenly, he said up and grabbed both her bottom cheeks to create more friction as she rubbed against him. "Oh, no," he shook his head. "I haven't done anything but bring your wants and needs to the surface and help you become the sexy woman you were always meant to be." He grinned. "Come for me, darling."

Amy put her arms around his neck an threw her head back, granting him access to her neck so he could kiss and nuzzle her. She was almost there. She could feel it: "Oh, oh, Kol! I'm coming!"

"It's about time, woman," he cried, crashing his lips on hers as he felt her climax, holding her close and breathing in the smell of her hair as she rode it out and he did the same with his.

When they finally could both catch a breath, she stared at him. "Let me guess: You want your turn now."

"Oh, no," Kol shook his head. "I had a turn. I got an orgasm too when we did that." He took her face in his hands and kissed her, something he couldn't seem to stop doing, before gently running his fingertips over her arms, feeling her shiver as he did so. "Besides," he continued. "I can't hear you yell my name if I have a turn. So I can wait!"

Amy's eyes narrowed. "You smug, self-satisfied son of a-"

"Stop," he interrupted, parting her legs and stroking her gently with his finger. "Even though you're not being very nice to me, I'm about to make you very satisfied."

Amy pursed her lips shut, not wanting to give him even that small bit of satisfaction, but as each flick of his tongue brought her closer and closer to orgasm, she knew she'd be yelling his name. Again, and again, and again.

Eventually, they decided to take a break, lying next to each other on the bed, and trying to catch their breaths, the only sound in the large bedroom.

"I…that was…you…we…" Amy tried to articulate what she'd just felt but couldn't seem to find the words.

Kol chuckled, taking her hand and kissing it. "You know what, bravo for you! I don't think I've ever been so deep inside of you, Amy!" He began to nibble on her fingers.

She turned to stare at him. "Why are you always so crude?" She asked.

"I'm not crude," he shook his head. "I'm just calling it what it is. Sex is sex, Amy! And us being able to be so natural and free together, that's a gift!"

"Fine," she rolled her eyes and put a hand on her belly. "I just hope us being natural and free didn't hurt the baby."

"Well, it's possible that my penis bonked his head, but I think we're okay." Kol replied, hiding a smile.

"What?" She exclaimed in shock.

Realizing that his little joke might cause him to never do this again, or at least not for a long time, Kol backpedaled. "I'm joking!" He said with a laugh. "The baby is fine. Don't they tell you that in your science classes at school? And how do you think he was conceived for heaven's sake?"

"This isn't funny, Kol!" She snapped before getting out of the bed.

"Okay, I'm sorry," he apologized. "I shouldn't have teased you. Where are you going?"

"Out," she cried as he watched her grab a t-shirt to put on.

"Good, good. That'll give me ten minutes to get ready for round two." He grinned.

"I'm going to the living room to sleep on the sofa, and I do not intend to come back! Whatever the hell we just did…it was a one-time thing." She turned on her heel and left the room leaving the open door behind her.

"Sure, darling," Kol called after her. "You take a deep breath, get a drink of water, and I'll see you in a little bit!"

Elijah unlocked the front of the farmhouse, then opened it and gestured for Selina to go ahead of him. Then, after shutting the door behind him, he let out a sigh and put his blazer on the back of one of the kitchen chairs. "Can you believe it?" He asked as he paced back and forth and ran his fingers through his dark hair. "Niklaus drove a tank onto Lucifer's front lawn! I know I've said it a lot over the years, but now I truly mean it: I think my brother has lost his mind."

Selina giggled. "Yeah, he did. It was very hard to miss!"

"Why are you laughing?" Elijah cried. "Do you think it's funny that he's making such trouble?"

"I wouldn't say it's funny, no," Selina shook her head. "But you have to admit that it's very much his style and I wouldn't expect him to do anything else." She sighed. Ad I think it was kind of romantic, too, that he went to such lengths to get Angelica back."

"Because she's his mate," Elijah nodded. "Do you really believe that?" He eyed her with his hands on either side of his waist.

"No one said he was wrong, did they?" Selina pointed out as she leaned against the island. "And if you think about how your brother hasn't ever really been able to find peace before, along with how freaked out Steve was by the idea…I would say she is for sure."

"But really…how could they be?" Elijah pushed. "She is a chic, sensible, put together entrepreneur, and he's…Niklaus. What's in it for her? They're total opposites!"

"Well," Selina ran her finger down his neck. "I can think of one thing at least that could be in it for her, but you probably don't want to hear about that in regard to your brother. And bi disasters with daddy issues are kind of her specialty after so many years with her father. I can totally see how Klaus would be a logical follow up to Lucifer.

"More seriously, you never can tell with opposites attract people. Look at you and me. Do you think anyone who knew you but didn't know me would wonder why we're together? Why someone snazzy and sophisticated like you would want someone like me?"

"I suppose you're right," Elijah conceded, taking her into his arms and kissing her hair. "But don't act like you have nothing going for you. You're a successful entrepreneur yourself! A very hard worker, very kind and sweet and sexy…"

"Thanks," Selina blushed. "Back to your brother…in all the time I've known him, I've never seen him be as in touch with his feelings as he is now. I've talked with Angelica too, and…she really is in love with him, Elijah. She just…can't admit those feelings to herself yet. And don't forget they have a baby coming." She sighed. "It's all so much change at once, considering that she and her father have been joined at the hip for years like Cordelia and King Lear. It was definitely shitty of Steve to set her and Klaus up and then decide to rip them apart so he could use her as a way to coddle her father and avoid the consequences of how much he screwed Lucifer up. Angelica deserves better than that."

Elijah sighed. "I guess you're right. But…she's Lucifer's daughter!" He winced. "I'm going to be stuck being connected to him for the rest of time!"

"Don't you worry about that," Selina patted his arm. "Klaus knows how to handle Lucifer and I do too. It won't be a problem." She began cleaning a mess off the counter.

"The tank on the lawn showed that Klaus doesn't fear him at the very least," Elijah conceded with a roll of his eyes and a chuckle. Then he narrowed his eyes and put a hand on his wife's arm. "Do you…do you think Klaus did better than me?" He asked. "You know, with the whole big rescue and all?"

"Honey," Selina turned around, looked into his eyes, and gave him a hug and a kiss. "He did what was good for him and Angie. Driving a war tank on someone's lawn isn't your style, but you know how to go big with a romantic gesture…" She paused and looked around the kitchen. "Like building the love of your life who never really felt like she had a true home a big ranch house with horses and lots of land a giant kitchen…everything I wanted, and something that really…really touched my heart." Her voice broke a little, even as she gave him a big smile.

Elijah smiled back. "I guess I did do that, didn't I? I'm amazing!"

"You are," Selina hugged him again and he ran his fingers through her hair. "And I wouldn't change you for the world!" She then decided to change the subject. "I think Kol and Amy's wedding ceremony was nice."

"It was definitely the shortest one I've ever done," Elijah replied with a laugh. "Do you think Kol's ready for her?"

"I don't think you're asking the right question," Selina told him with a wink. "I think the right question is 'Is Amy ready for Kol'?"

"I don't think Kol has matured enough for this relationship to last very long," Elijah remarked. "And honestly, if Amy wasn't pregnant, I might not have even performed the ceremony for them."

"Why not?" Selina asked. "Have you taken a look at Kol lately? He's a grown man who seems very capable and mature and has waited years and years for Amy. They're really crazy about each other, I think. She's just too stubborn and afraid to admit it at the moment because she's been tossed like a hot potato between you and Klaus for years and neither of you was really in love with her."

"I did too love her!" Elijah protested.

"Yeah, in a nice brotherly way!" Selina clarified. "Not in same sexy way you love me. Don't you think she deserves passion too? Like you have with me, and like…like Klaus has with Angelica?"

"Yes," Elijah nodded. "And I suppose…I suppose I really should apologize to her some day for making our relationship so unpleasant and complicated that she couldn't have a good one with Kol right away. And Klaus should too! All us Mikaelson men."

"Not Mikael," Selina corrected. "Or Aleksandr. He's been gone for years."

"Yes," Elijah nodded, thinking of his oldest brother. "He was your problem, not Amy's, and thank goodness too."

"What can I say?" Selina shrugged. "All you Mikaelson men are so sexy and manly that women are drawn to you like flies are to spiders' webs!"

"I don't know what to say to that," Elijah told her. "Was it meant as a compliment?" He chuckled.

"Yes, in a way…" Selina nodded. "And it's also the truth!" She gave him a smile and grabbed the bowl of leftover frosting. "And look! We still have this nearly full bowl of frosting to enjoy!"

"That's definitely good news," Elijah smiled. "I have some things I need to go clean up in my office, but I promise it won't take long."

"It better not," she winked. "See you in a few in our bedroom!"

He chuckled. "You got that right, woman!" He then gave her a way and strode off to his office, just wondering what sort of surprises she would have waiting for him, like she always did.

Once he was gone, Selina looked down at the bowl full of frosting, a wicked, naughty, and very hot idea filling her brain.

Whistling softly to himself, Elijah made his way to his and Selina's bedroom, unbuttoning his shirt along the way so that he'd just have to remove his pants when he arrived. But after walking over the bedroom threshold and undoing the last button, he looked up and froze. Selina was kneeling naked on their bed, the mixing bowl full of frosting cradled in her arms.

"Um, well…" He mumbled, unsure of what to say.

"Oh, hello, handsome!" She greeted him with a smile, then put some frosting on her finger, licking it off in a leisurely fashion that made him want to whip his pants off immediately.

"What…what are you doing, darling?" He managed to get out, even though he was quickly losing the ability to think clearly because all the blood in his head was rushing somewhere else.

"Why don't you throw that shirt on the chair and have a snack with me?" Selina suggested, sliding her tongue suggestively over her lips. "And your pants too, while you're at it. You're very overdressed."

"Darling, I believe those pregnancy hormones of yours are doing a number on you," he warned with a shake of his head.

"Or it could be that I'm just very horny for my husband," she corrected. Then her lip jutted out in an adorable way. "Come on now, please?"

He blushed and lowered his head before going to kiss her gently.

Then she deepened the kiss and nibbled his earlobe as her hand cupped his crotch. "Are you going to undress yourself?" She whispered. "Or do you want me to do it for you?"

He could barely move, except for his gaze, which was dark and unable to look anywhere but at her beautiful, naked body. "Do whatever you want," he panted. "It doesn't make any difference to me."

She quickly undressed him, taking her time to enjoy the view of him as well, then pulled him into bed with her, liberally smearing chocolate frosting all over her breasts. "Look. My breasts seem to be covered in frosting!" She teased, fake shock in her eyes. "If only there were someone here who would be willing to help me clean it off!"

But she didn't have to wait long. Soon he'd gently pinned her to the bed and was licking the frosting off her.

"Yes," she moaned. "That feels so good! More! More!"

Once he was done with what was on her chest, he put some on both her inner thighs, making her orgasm almost immediately, but fortunately, he was able to taste her before that happened, giving her such a strong orgasm that she nearly knocked herself out on the headboard.

"Are you all right?" He asked her after, worry in his eyes. "Did I hurt you?"

"No," she panted. "I'm…I'm good."

Then she looked up at him and giggled. "You have frosting all over your face!"

"I do?" He frowned and sat up. "Where?"

"Right here," she said, licking it off his cheek and the side of his mouth, which made him kiss her hungrily in turn. "You're hard as a rock, you know."

"Yes," he whispered. "Of course I am. Could I…have a little help with that?"

"Oh, yes," Selina nodded, smearing frosting on his cock and then licking it off slowly and gently until Elijah thought he was going to scream. He didn't think she could make him want her any more, but then she took one more little blob and put it on the tip, swirling her tongue around over and over. "Just like ice cream," she murmured in between licks.

When he finally came, he came as hard as she had, and he had to grab her hand to stop her from tumbling from the bed.

"That was fun," she chuckled. "I like playing with frosting!"

"Me too," he grinned. "But I have to confess that you're much sweeter." He began gently sucking on her nipples and then she stopped him. "I don't need that. Will you come inside me, please?"

"Yes," he grinned as her legs wrapped around him and he buried himself inside her while kissing her soundly. "I thought you'd never ask."

Ellie sat on the foot of her bed, one hand on her belly, the other holding her cell phone. She closed her eyes tight to stop tears falling down her cheeks, but one managed to escape anyway, even though she knew she'd have to be strong to do what she was about to do.

She had fifteen text messages and a few voicemails from Julian. He hadn't heard from her in ages. And because he actually cared about her, he was very concerned. Even worried. And that just made it worse, knowing he cared so much when her only choice now if she wanted him to stay safe was to break the sweet man's heart and end things with him.

She hadn't left the mansion much, but at least she'd been able to hire a courier with Dexter's help, to get Angelica the things she'd left behind when she'd departed with the Mikaelsons for Klaus'. Her getting her things so she would never have to set foot in here again was very important, and Ellie was glad she'd at last accomplished that when she'd not been able to do much else for anyone, including herself.

Milo had come back late that awful day, so naturally, unlike practically everyone else in the house, he'd had no idea what had happened, and it had to be explained to him, especially as to why there was so much tension between both his parents.

When he'd asked who all the packed boxes belonged to, Ellie decided to be honest with him and tell him that they were Angelica's and that she'd decided to move in with Klaus for good. None of her other children would be infantilized the way Angelica had been if she could help it.

And she'd answered his other questions, too with as much of a smile as she could muster. Yes, Lucifer was aware of the decision. And then…then she'd told him that his parents were back together. Her youngest son might bear a striking resemblance to his father and have a similar demeanor, but he had always been kind, sweet, and loving under the façade he'd put up as he tried to figure out who he was. She didn't have to worry about that. She knew in her heart that, unlike his father, he would never change. He was smarter than he let on too, which is why he didn't believe the fairy take she told him for one second. But at least she'd tried to protect him. That was a mother's job, after all.

She sighed and scrolled through her phone, finally making herself call Julian.

"Well, hello!" Came his cheerful voice. I've been thinking about you for the longest time, beautiful! How are you, sweetheart?"

"I'm sorry I haven't called in so long," she apologized.

"Don't beat yourself up about that," he told her easily. "We're both busy people. I haven't exactly called you either. I've been working so much the past few weeks. But that doesn't mean you weren't in my thoughts every second." She could just hear the smile in his voice, and she couldn't help but imagine the twinkle in his eyes that went along with it. That twinkle in his eyes made her knees weak.

She closed her eyes as more tears fell, then took a deep breath and spoke again. "So…Mikael's been keeping you busy, has he?"

"Well, not him personally, but…the twins are all grown up now and let's just say that they order me about just like he does." He laughed. "'Julian, drive me here'! 'Julian, I need to go there'. I'm lucky if I'm in bed by midnight. Even so, believe me that I'd consider myself extremely lucky to find you in my bed at the end of such a long day."

She kept silent, biting her lip hard so he wouldn't hear her sob over the phone.

"Eleanor? Are you there? Is something wrong, sweetheart?"

"Nothing is wrong," she told him, although this time, she couldn't hide her sobbing. "I'm fine, I swear."

"No, you're not. Please tell me what's going on. Tell me where you are and I'll be there in a matter of seconds."

"Seconds?" She managed to joke a little. "Are you a warlock now?" She smiled a little. "Can you instantly appear at my side?"

"Unfortunately, I'm not that good. But It would only take thirty minutes for real. I'll be with you soon if you'll let me. I'll ask Mikael for a couple hours, and I'm sure he'll let me have them. You seem distressed. Please, tell me what's wrong," he demanded gently.

"I…I have bad news for you," she blurted out, hopefully sounding much braver than she felt.

"Okay," he swallowed hard. "Is there anything I can do?"

"No," she sniffled. "I'm…I'm having family problems that will be complicated to resolve. They're going to take up so much of my time, Julian." It wasn't completely a lie.

"What are you saying?" He asked dryly.

"I'm…I'm saying that…I don't think I'll be able to see you again," she got out before breaking into tears,

"Open facetime," he demanded gently.

"No, no, I can't!" She protested, shaking her head as tears continued to roll down her cheeks and neck.

"Open the damn facetime, woman!" He demanded again, a little less gently.

She closed her eyes and granted him that last wish.

"What's wrong, Eleanor?" Julian asked when he got a good look at her. "You're sobbing like a baby and muttering nonsense about losing me. If you don't want to end things…why are you? What's making you do it?" He asked firmly.

Ellie shook her head and shut her eyes tight, taking a deep breath before speaking. "Please don't ask me questions I can't answer, Julian. Please don't." She wiped some tears from her eyes and let others freely run down her cheeks.

"Whatever is going on, I'll help you!" Julian promised. "He's related to your family. I'll tell him we've been seeing each other, and he'll tell me what's going on and how to fix it, even if you can't!"

"No!" Ellie cried out with a wild shake of her head. "Whatever you do, please don't go see Mikael and get him wrapped up in this. I'm begging you!"

"Then you tell me what's going on?" He demanded, running a hand through his thick curly hair. "We just found each other. We're happy. Why are you doing this to me?"

She put a hand over her mouth to try and stop her sobbing and prevent herself from crying out in pain. "Believe me when I say that I'll cherish every moment we've had together, but…I've gotten back together with my old boyfriend."

Julian froze, staring in disbelief at his cellphone screen. "I don't believe you," he told her. "You're lying to me. "I know you. I know that you were falling hard for me. That the best place for both of us was in my bed."

"If that's the memory you have of it, then good," she said. "It was a beautiful short love story, a cute hook up. Nothing more than that. It was so painful for her to lie to him like this. To have to lie to herself. And the fact that it was to protect him only helped a little. "I never wanted to hurt you like this, Julian, but…life is what it is."

"I see," he replied, his jaw tense as tears filled his own eyes.

"I…I wish you all the happiness in your life. You're a wonderful man, Julian."

"Fuck you!" He burst out. "You never struck me as the sort of woman who would use a man and then throw him away like a used tissue, but…little did I know. If there's one compliment I can pay you, it's that you're a wonderful actress. Totally had me fooled!"

She bit her lip, sobbing openly and profusely now. "Goodbye, Julian," she told him and ended the call before she had to hear his reply.

Julian heard the click of the call ending, then closed his eyes, a growl escaping his lips. "Fuck this," he spat, throwing his phone against the wall, watching as it broke, and then locking his door and calling Mikael to tell him that he didn't feel well and would need a few days' vacation.
