Monday Afternoon

Maylu was sitting on the bench in the park just enjoying the few of the kids playing on the playground. She smiles as she starts to have flashbacks of herself as a child. Then when the image of Lan came up, she shakes away the memory.

'If he only he could talk to me?' Maylu thoughts.

"I would love to hear you out if you give me a reason"

Maylu turns around to see Lan right behind her. Maylus stands up.

"Will you really hear me out first before you hate me forever?"

"Maylu, I don't know if I could ever hate you for longer then a week at most, but I am mad at you"

"I know and I'm sorry. I know sorry is not going to cut it, but can it be a start?"

Lan walks around the bench to sit down. He motions Maylu to do the same thing.

"You may talk"

"Ok, well, the reason I didn't tell you was because I thought you had another girlfriend while you were in college, and I didn't want to seem weird or awkward asking you that in case that you did. I couldn't take it if you would've told me that you had a girlfriend. I would've been heartbroken, but I didn't want to take that chance so I assume that you found someone else and started hanging out with Dex more. College gotten busy, so I had to cut down on communication with anyone that I was in contact with, unless we went to the same school. That person had to be only Dex. We kept in touch, went on a couple of dates, next thing I knew, he asked me to marry him. I didn't know what to do. I still had feelings for you, but I was scared to talk to you. Like, I didn't know what to ask you that you would've taken the wrong way. So I decided to marry Dex. Then when I found out that you was at the reunion, I decided to be brave and confront you, but you wasn't married not to mention not even dating anyone. I was so sad because I had a feeling that I broke your heart all over the assumptions that I keep having. I'm sooooo sorry Lan, and I wish there was a way that you could ever forgive me"

Lan just stares at her. This was a lot to take in from him. He looks away for a little bit, but Maylu made him face her

"As your best friend, I should of realize your nervousness when you started talking to me less and less. But I guess I can understand why you made the choices you made"

"So...are you still mad at me? Are you still my best friend?"

"I'm not mad at you and you are still my best friend. It's going to take a little while for me to completely get over this, but I forgive you"

"Thank you Lan!"

Maylu jumps on Lan and gives him a tight hug. Lan blushes a little and hugs her back. They stay like this for a while before they broke a part.

"So now what?" Maylu asks.

"I really don't know. I have nothing else plan for the day"

"Maybe...nevermind"

"What Maylu?"

"If it's too son, maybe we could...hang out like old times?"

Lan thinks about this for a minute before he gives her response

"I would like that"

Maylu smiles as they both stand up and hang out at multiple places. It wasn't until 9 in the afternoon when they return to Maylu's house.

"Thank you Lan for this amazing day"

"No problem Maylu. I just hope that Dex won't be mad over the necklace I got you"

"He's not. I really like the necklace that you bought me"

"I'm glad you do. Well, goodnight Maylu"

"Goodnight Lan"

They stare at each other for a few minutes. Maylu slightly blushes and starts to look away, but Lan grabs her chin and make her face him. He leans in and gives Maylu a kiss on the cheek. Maylu blushes even more and Lan smiles. Before Lan could turn around, Maylu kisses him on the cheek and quickly walks into her house. Lan smiles as he walks away
