The next day, Dex wakes up to see Maylu not next to him in their bed. He sits up as his phone starts to buzz. He grabs his phone to see he have a message from an unknown number. Usually he would ignore these type of messages, but curiosity have gotten the best of him. He opens the message to see a picture of Lan and Maylu hanging outside the front of a jewelry store. The message said underneath: Watch yourself! Otherwise I might spill a little secret on the truth of why Maylu never got any of Lan's messages.
"Hey Dex, I been calling you for the past five minutes. What are you doing?"
Dex looks up to see Maylu staring at him from the doorway. She was wearing a pink tank top and blue jeans.
"I'm sorry, I was just caught up in reading. Did you want something?" Dex asks.
"Well, I was wondering if you have seen my book of songs that I have played on the piano. Lan wanted to know how many songs I have played since graduation" Maylu answers as she starts to search through her drawers.
"I didn't know that you and Lan are talking again...when did this happened?" Dex asks.
"Yesterday he happened to ran into me while I was at the park. He finally decided to hear me out and listen to what I had to say. He forgave me and we're best friends again." Maylu answers excitedly. Too excitedly for Dex's taste.
"So you have plans with him today then?"
"Kind of. We're just catching up on things that we did over the summer and through are first year of college. It shouldn't take all day, but if it do, then that means that everything is going to be alright between me and him."
"I thought we had a date today?"
"No, we didn't. You have to work today and I have the day off so I decided I was going to catch up with Lan. Here's my book". Maylu takes out a book label 'Songs' on it. "Breakfast is in the microwave since I ate two hours ago"
"Why have you been up since 7 am?"
"I've been busy with chores that YOU don't do like simply washing the dishes or cleaning the bathroom or doing laundry. I'll be back hopefully before the moon comes out. Have a great day at work" Maylu says as she walks out of the bedroom.
Dex stares at the drawer that Maylu was just at. She didn't close it all the way. Dex decided to be nice and was going to close it, but there was something in there that have caught his eye. It was a picture of Lan and Maylu at prom together. 'I thought she got rid of this when we got married' Dex thought as he closes the drawer. 'Why do she still have this picture?' Dex thought as his phone went off again. He went to his phone to see another picture message. This picture was Maylu giving Lan a kiss on the cheek with a caption that said: Get your girl away from mine! 'Who is this?' Dex wonders as he got ready for work.
Lan's house
Lan was looking for something when Princess Pride enters the kitchen.
"Hey Lan, what are you doing?"
"Remember the time I bake some desserts and they actually taste good?"
"Yeah, the brownies are surprisingly good. There's a few left in the cabinet that you're in"
"I see them, thanks" Lan says as he puts the rest of the brownies in his bag.
"Why were you looking for them?"
"Well, Maylu didn't believe me when I told her that I can bake to an extent, so I said I'll bring her some brownies." Lan said as he puts them in his bag.
"I didn't know that you and Maylu were friends again?" Princess Pride asks as she grabs a bottle of water from the fridge. Lan looks at her and smiles.
"Yeah, we um... made up yesterday. That's why I was out yesterday. We're good now. Well, I'll be back in a couple of hours so I can show you the beauty of Star Wars." Lan said as he puts on his bag and leaves.
'He didn't even kiss me goodbye. No kiss on the cheek or anything.' Princess Pride thinks as her cell phone went off. She opens her phone to see a message from an unknown number. She opens the message. It reads: I thought Lan was your boyfriend. He's been hanging around this Maylu girl more then you. You better find a way to fix this or you're going to marry the guy that we have ready for you back home.
She replies back: Don't worry he's still my boyfriend, they're just getting reacquainted with each other.
Parents responds back: That's what they all say before friendship turns to a relationship. Just keep your eyes out. You're time is ticking
Princess Pride sighs as she takes her bottle of water back upstairs to her room
At the Park
Lan and Maylu were eating brownies and laughing while sitting at the park bench.
"Will you just finally admit Maylu?"
"Fine Lan. I, Maylu, admits that Lan can bake quality food and that it's good. Happy?"
"Very. So tell me about you and Dex?"
"What exactly you want to know?"
"Anything that you want to tell me about you two"
"Well, things started out great between us with some arguments, but recently he's been acting weird,"
"Define weird?"
"I mean that he been slacking. Like not doing the things that he used to do. Keeps to himself and get defensive when I ask"
"Maybe it's just personal stuff that he's just not ready to share just yet"
"Yeah, maybe you're right. So tell me about you and the Princess?"
"Nothing much have been happening really. I've been showing her around, introducing her to new things. But this whole marriage proposal thing I'm still thinking about"
"Yeah, she wants to marry you because she doesn't want to be with that other guy. Have she told you anything about him?"
"No, which is weird. I mean she never told me why she didn't want to marry him or elaborate on why me. It just seems...you know"
"Yeah, so have Megaman been talking to you about Roll?"
"Not yet. He's been to himself lately but told me when he's ready, we'll talk about it. How about you with Roll?"
"Same with you and Megaman. I guess it really affected them more then us"
"Yeah. Even though we knew each other longer then they knew each other. Maybe my friend Jamie could help them"
"Jamie? Whose that?"
"A friend of mine from college. She's really good with communicating feelings through people or understanding them. Maybe she could talk to them."
"When I talk to Megaman later on today, I'll ask him and see what he thinks."
"Alright. Well it's time for me to head back home. I told Dex we can be together tonight when he gets off of work."
"What you guys have plan to do today?"
"Nothing really"
"Well, maybe you and Dex can join the Princess and I in watching Star Wars"
"That sounds great. It's been a while since I seen the movie."
Lan and Maylu gets up from the bench and walks to Maylu's s house. At Maylu's house, they see Dex in regular clothes watching TV.
"Hey Dex" Lan greets.
"Oh hey Lan, look man I'm.." Dex said before Lan interrupts him.
"It's all cool. I just wanted to invite you over to watch Star Wars with Maylu, the Princess and I?"
"Sure I'm down for that"
The group walk over to Lan's house. At Lan's house, Princess Pride come downstairs happy until she sees Maylu and Dex.
"What are you guys doing here?"
"I invited them to watch Star Wars with us. You know, just in case you have any questions about the movie, you have two more people helping you out."
"Well alright"
They all gather in the living room as Lan gets the movie. They sit on the couch except Lan who sits on the floor. Maylu got a little uncomfortable on the couch and slides onto the floor next to Lan.
"You know Maylu, we could always switch spots if you like?" Princess Pride asks.
"No it's ok. I wanted to sit on the floor anyways" Maylu answers.
"You want me to join you down there?" Dex asks.
"No I'll be fine. You had work today so you need to stay on the couch." Maylu says as Lan starts the movie.
Halfway through the movie both Dex and Princess Pride was asleep. Maylu and Lan were the only two people awake. Maylu had her head laying on Lan's shoulder and Lan had his arm wrapped around her waist holding her close to him.
"Remember when we were little and we used to have movie night once a month?" Maylu asks.
"Yeah, it was always you, me and Chaud to be the last ones awake."
"Yeah, and Dex would be the first one to fall asleep so we used to play pranks on him"
"I still remember when we decorated his face with ketchup and mustard"
"Man he was pissed at us for about a week"
"Yeah. We did a lot of things together"
"Yeah. We did."
Lan and Maylu were looking at each other as the credits to the movie starts to roll in. They just stare into each other's eyes.
"Lan"
"Maylu"
They lean into each other and kiss. They kiss for a few seconds until they realize what they were doing. They split apart with shock face expressions.
"What did we just do?" Maylu asks
"I think we just...kiss"
"We can't tell them that we did that"
"Tell them what? That we're about to put whip cream in both of their hands, wake up very early in the morning and tickle them so they can slap themselves in the face?"
"Exactly" Maylu said as Lan got the whip cream and puts it in Princess Pride's and Dex's hand. Maylu grabs a blanket and pillows for them to sleep on. Lan and Maylu lays down on the floor and cover themselves with the blanket.
"Good night Lan"
"Good night Maylu"
And that's the end of this chapter. I'm sooooo sorry this took me so long to write, but I'm getting back on top of updating more with my serious writer's block. I hope everyone have a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year as I see you guys again in 2016. Review and I will see you soon. :)
