1 Week Left

Lan pacing back n forth in his room as Chaud and Megaman, from his PET, watches him, making themselves feel dizzy. After a while, Chaud gets up and grabs Lan by his arm and sits him in his chair

"I have left you paced for ten minutes, have you came up with something?"

"Anything at this point brother because time is running out," Megaman said as Lan rubs his eyes with his fist

"I feel like no matter how I phrase this, I will be made out as the bad guy by her"

"Well, you could marry her so she can be happy, but will you be happy? Have she ever mention the guy that her parents want her to marry?" Chaud asks as Lan shakes his head.

"The only thing I know is that she just wants to marry someone that she picks, but I never knew that I was who she wanted to marry?"

"Or you're the only guy that she's close with so marrying you wouldn't be all bad" Megaman suggests as Chaud nods.

"I know that, but I'm trying to see it from her perspective. I'm pretty sure she met other guys before"

"Yeah, but they were probably suitors in the end. Though she met all of us around the same time, you were probably her first real guy friend" Megaman said as everyone in the room hums. This was going to be a little harder than what Lan thought, but Chaud broke the silence by his curiosity,

"So how are you and Maylu?"

"I told you, we are cool"

"Even after the 'accident but not really because we know deep down you wanted to'?"

"It was an accident, but we talked about it and it meant nothing"

"Nothing so it won't cause confusion or nothing because that's the easy way out?" Megaman asks as Chaud laughs. Lan wishes that Megaman was in the human world so he could physically punch him.

"It doesn't matter what reason was, we got through it and it didn't' change anyone's dynamic"

"I heard from Yai that Maylu said that Dex found some stuff that you gave her and momentos from when we were younger and made a big deal out of it"

"Stuff like what?"

"A hoodie I believe and some pictures from the dances yall went to. He told her to get rid of them years ago and she didn't"

"Why should she get rid of them? Jealousy is real with him" Lan said as Megaman giggled and Chaud shook his head. "I swear if either of you two says anything about how dense and oblivious I was, you might as well not say anything".

"Then guess I'm not saying anything because it will eventually lead to that statement, but could you understand where he is coming from?" Chaud asked as Lan nod.

"I can understand, but he also has to realize that what he asked for is not a simple request. I still got pictures with me and Maylu from a couple of years ago" Lan said as he showed Chaud and Megaman a picture of their prom picture.

"I didn't even know that you kept that," Megaman said as Lan nodded his head "I already made up my mind for what I'm going to do"

"I'm shocked! How are you able to decide while I'm still pacing?" Lan asks as Megaman laughed.

"Relationships are serious, but not like yall. I rather remain friends with Knightman than moving into marriage. It just doesn't feel right that we are only getting married for your freedom and there's no emotion in-between" Megaman explains as Chaud nods in agreement. "Even if she gets mad, you have to follow her heart and let her know it's not because there's someone else, but you're just not ready".

"Now whatever I said can't let this room and I'm looking at you Chaud with Yai. You can't tell her anything that I'm about to tell you" Lan says as both boys nod in agreement. "I bought a ring for Maylu back in college before we somehow lost touch".

"YOU BOUGHT HER A WHAT AND DIDN'T TELL US AT ALL?" Chaud and Megaman yell before Lan shushes them. "There was a time that I was ready, but you know what happened".

"It still bothers me that we still don't know how you two stopped talking. Have you ever found out how?" Chaud asks as Lan nods his head.

"Well, while I had on Maylu's phone...

"Doing what may I ask?" Chaud asks as Lan snorts.

"I had Maylu's phone because I was curious about what she saved my name. She had her old phone from back then and she tried calling me, but it never went through. Went more deep into her phone and turns out I was blocked on there"

"Wait, you're telling me she never knew that you were blocked on her phone?" Megaman asks as Lan nods. "That's strange, I mean who had access to her phone that they would be able to do that?"

"I can take a guess, but I don't have a reason for why though," Chaud said as everyone hum.

"I might get an answer in the next couple of hours. Maylu was a little mad when she came to that realization and stormed off"

At Maylu's and Dex's house

"So you blocked Lan in my phone for what reason?"

"I don't know what you're talking about"

"You do know what I'm talking about. You were the only person I let, besides Yai, to have my phone. Did you block Lan on my phone and made sure I wouldn't be able to find out?"

"What made you come up with that idea?"

"I knew Yai would never do that to me. Besides, I was away at school so she wouldn't be able to do it"

"Maylu, you wouldn't understand..."

"Understand what?! Did you forget how hurt I was when I thought he was ignoring me? Did you forget how hard it was for me to get out of my dorm room? And to think it was YOU who caused it. How could you?"

"I was trying to help you move past the sadness. It was obvious you loved him and it hurt to see you like that when you two couldn't meet up"

"So you thought the best solution was to cut communication all together?! Yes, it was sad that I couldn't see him, but that didn't mean I didn't want to hear from him. It was enough to get me by"

"No, it wasn't. Sure at first, but deep down you know you wanted more, but was too afraid. Since you were too afraid, maybe it just wasn't meant to be and it was time to move on"

"And you were the answer? Dex how could you do that to me? I thought you cared about me?"

"I do care about you"

"You obviously don't if you thought blocking communication with Lan would be the best thing for me"

Maylu went into their closet to grab a suitcase and start packing up her clothes and books

"Where are you going?"

"I'm staying with Yai. I can't be around you anymore"

"But Maylu"

Maylu pushes on by Dex as she calls Yai to let her know of her arrival. Dex slumps into the bed as he calls someone on his phone,

"Hey, the secret is out and it didn't end well. You should tell your side before you end up like me"
