(Monday, 11:00AM; Clubroom; Akihito's PoV)
Monika: "Aki? You're not heading to the festival?"
Aki: "I will, but there's something I want to do first. I have this note, and I want you to look over it. Think of it as a poem."
Monika: "Okay! I can do that!"
I hand her the note and she begins to read it.
*'My heart has been stolen by the One and only goddess. the time to confess is Not determined, but a few words about her. she's Kind, caring, charming, elegant, And much more. dear god, help me catch this goddess.'*
It's poorly written, I don't have much experience with writing, but I still hope she likes it.
Monika: "It's a nice love letter! I wonder who the lucky girl is, ahaha. There are some grammatical errors, is that intentional?"
What the heck? She didn't get it? Oh well, I'll give her a hint.
Aki: "Yeah those are intentional."
Monika: "May I ask why?"
Aki: "I've hidden the lucky girl's name in the letter. Read the capital and underlined letters."
She looks back at my letter with a confused expression. I've written it so that the capital and underlined letters spell out 'M-O-N-I-K-A'. Once she looks over the letter, her expression changes from a confused one to a surprised one.
Monika: "Y-you... this... my name... huh?"
Aki: "Monika, ever since I first laid eyes on you last year, I've had a crush on you. But once I found out we didn't share any classes this year, I was really sad. I would only see you in the halls, and my heart would jump a little. And now, Sayori introduced me to this club, and I found you. So, what I'm trying to say is... I like you Monika. Would you be my girlfriend?"
Monika is just left in shock. I thought she'd be used to this, since so many guys have a crush on her as well.
Monika: "S-so many guys confessed to me as a joke, b-but you're serious..."
Oh no, am I going to get rejected? …why am I shocked? She probably doesn't like me the same way I like her.
Aki: "I understand if you don't like me… just say no and I'll leave. I'm sorry for putting you through this-"
Monika: "Yes."
Aki: "W-what?"
Monika: "I like you too Aki. In fact, when I came to your house the other day, I wanted to confess to you. But when I saw Sayori, I didn't want to confess while she was there."
Oh my god... LET'S GOOOO!
Aki: "I... I can't believe it! You... really like me?"
Monika: "My story is the same as yours, Aki. When I first saw you last year, I felt something. I never had that feeling before, but later on, I understood that it was the feeling of love."
Aki: "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, this is really happening!"
Monika: "I guess so!"
She runs towards me, and hugs me. The popular girl, Monika, just accepted my confession! This is the best day ever!
Aki: "Well uh, as our first date, would you like to go around the festival?"
Monika: "I would love to."
We hold hands and walk out of the classroom. But we quickly release each other's hands, because showing signs of love or something like that is strictly not allowed in school.
We go outdoors, because that's where most of the fun stuff is. Monika would point out stalls that she'd want to go to, and we'd both go there. It would mainly be either a food stand or game stand.
There were various games there, like a bottle knockdown and a dunk tank game. At the dunk tank, each ticket was worth 3 throws. Monika took two throws and missed, so she handed me the last ball. Suffice to say, I hit the mark and dunked the dude.
There was even this ring toss game as well with various prizes, just like the carnival. I managed to get Monika a small plushie, which she happily took. We spend the rest of the school day like this, and soon enough it's time to go home.
Aki: "Hey Monika?"
Monika: "Yes?"
Aki: "Would you like to come over to my place for dinner?"
Monika: "I would love to, but what would your parents say?"
Aki: "Oh, I live alone, so that won't be a problem. Unless you want me to call them and ask."
Monika: "Ahaha, no no that's not needed. I would love to come over for dinner. I assume you're cooking?"
Aki: "I think so, unless someone's been taking over my body while I cook."
I like to be sarcastic and funny, if you can't tell.
Monika: "I hope that's not the case! Can I trust that you cook well?"
It's nice that Monika's the same type. You don't meet many people who deal with sarcasm well these days.
Aki: "Well I've been cooking for myself for the past year, and it tastes edible to me. You can be the judge if it belongs in a 5-star restaurant or the dumpster."
Monika: "I guess I'll have to bring out my inner Gordon Ramsay."
Aki: "Oh no, I'm screwed! Anyone but him!"
We both burst into laughter because of our sarcastic conversation. If this is how most of our conversations are going to be like, I'm going to enjoy this very much.
Monika: "Alright then, I'll see you later Aki."
Aki: "Wait, hold on."
Monika: "What is it?"
Aki: "We never exchanged numbers. Last time I checked, I think that's kind of important in a relationship."
Monika: "Really? I don't remember reading that in the handbook. They must've come out with a newer edition."
Aki: "Mine is from earlier today, maybe that's why."
We laugh a little more as we exchange our phone numbers.
Monika: "Alright then, I'll see you later Aki. For real this time."
Aki: "See you then!"
Monika heads to her house and I head to mine. I'm not walking with Sayori this time, but I hope she doesn't mind. What's one time going to do?
(Monday, 8:00PM; House; Akihito's PoV)
It's eight in the evening right now, Monika should be here any minute. When I got home I realized that I didn't know what to cook. I didn't want to disappoint Monika and just make another frozen pizza. Plus that would've taken a toll on my health since that's what I had for the past two days.
That's why I decided to make pasta. I boiled a mixture of penne and farfalle pasta, since those are the best. Just kidding, those were the only ones I had at home so I had no other choice. They still are pretty good though. I also made some marinara sauce and cut up some parsley. I really hope she likes this dish. Because if not, I just wasted half an hour watching a YouTube tutorial.
***KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK***
That must be her! I open the door to open it. Upon opening it, I see Monika in this fancy dress. She looks so gorgeous, I can't stop staring!
Monika: "Earth to Aki? You there?"
Aki: "Holy… wow…"
Monika: "You can stop staring you know, ahaha."
I just now realized how stupid I must've looked.
Aki: "S-sorry Monika, I was just surprised at how amazing you looked. Come inside."
She walks inside, and I lead her to the dining table. I've already set up the table, and I have this metal bowl covering the main dish. It looks just like those cooking shows on TV.
Monika: "Wow, you went all out on this one!"
Aki: "Well it was my first dinner with my first girlfriend, so I wanted to make it special for her."
Monika: "Well, it certainly is astonishing, I'll give you that. I assume the special dinner is under the metal bowl?"
Aki: "You bet, would you like to uncover it?"
Monika: "Sure! I can't wait to see what's under it!"
She reaches over the table and uncovers the pasta. I tried to make it look as fancy as possible, by making it look like one of those images from Google.
Monika: "Wow! I was expecting a frozen pizza!"
Aki: "Well I mean that's what I had the whole weekend, so I thought I'd make something different."
Monika: "So this is your version of 'trying to eat healthier'?"
Aki: "No it's just me trying out new foods. This is probably more unhealthy than the frozen pizza."
Monika: "Really? I thought those things were like the unhealthiest things ever."
Aki: "You'd be surprised at what other foods exist. Anyways, shall we dig in?"
Monika: "Oh yes, I need to bring out my inner Gordon Ramsay."
I chuckle and give Monika a serving of the pasta. She takes a bite, and her expression stays neutral. This can go two ways. Either she doesn't like the food, or she's going to crack a joke.
Monika: "Where's the lamb sauce?!"
I burst into laughter, I did not expect that response. Monika joins in as well.
Aki: "Sorry chef, I'll do better next time."
Monika: "Bloody hell! This is disgusting!"
She says that in a British accent to emphasize her impersonation. I fake breaking down into tears.
Aki: "I thought... I thought I could impress you for once... but alas I have failed to do so..."
Now we're both laughing, great start to dinner. I finally take a seat and we calm down.
Aki: "So, may I ask if Monika likes the food, Mr. Ramsay?"
Monika: "Yeah whatever, lemme just switch personalities real quick."
She then imitates a robot shutting off and turning on again.
Monika: "Alright! Let's eat this!"
She takes another bite of the pasta while giggling a little. Her giggling is just so cute to hear.
Monika: "This is amazing Aki! I never knew you could cook this good!"
Aki: "Well I mean I watched a YouTube video, so what else can I say?"
Monika: "You can say the classic YouTuber line!"
I jokingly clear my throat to prepare for the shit that's about to go down.
Aki: "Make sure to subscribe to my channel! Smash that like button and hit that notification bell so you don't miss any of my videos!"
Monika gives a small applause, but I have yet to use my ultimate card yet.
Aki: "Before we continue with this dinner, a word from our sponsor Raid Shadow Legends!"
Monika: "That's it, I'm done with this meal."
She then jokingly gets up from the table and crosses her arms.
Aki: "Okay okay I'm sorry, the sponsor is NordVPN."
Monika: "...well it's better than Raid so I'll stay."
We continue with our dinner, joking around and talking about ourselves a little bit more. Apparently she also lives by herself as well, and her parents are paying for the house. Is that what every high schooler is doing nowadays?
After we finish eating, I take our plates and put them in the sink. We then head to the couch to chat for a bit more until around 9PM.
Monika: "Well, I should get going soon. It is a school night after all."
Aki: "Aww, I wanted to spend some more time with you..."
Monika: "There's always the weekend!"
Aki: "Yeah I guess you're right... would you like to take some pasta home with you? I made a lot, so I have some extra for me as well."
Monika: "I'd love to, the pasta was delicious after all."
I take a small box and pack some pasta for Monika. I hand it to her and she gladly takes it.
Aki: "See you tomorrow then?"
Monika: "I guess so. Bye Aki!"
Aki: "Bye Monika."
I watch as Monika heads to her house, and close the door. Damn, today was amazing. Monika is now my girlfriend, I had two dates with her, *and* she liked my cooking!
I have a good feeling that being with Monika is going to be a great time. I hope we stay together forever.
