BEEP BEEP BEEP
Ahhh... another morning, another great day! And it's Friday, which means tomorrow's the weekend! Monika and I decided that we'd go around the town for another date after the club today.
I get out of bed and do my daily morning routine. One thing I've started doing is sending a message to Monika every morning. Today I went with a simple 'Good morning Monika' with a heart emoji after.
Breakfast for today is simple, just some cereal. As I'm eating I feel my phone vibrate. Looks like Monika replied to my message.
Monika: Morning to you as well Aki :)
I mark the message as read and continue eating my breakfast. Once I'm done, I pack my bag and head out to school. Just as expected, Sayori's waiting outside my house. We both walk to school together, talking about the festival on the way.

Another day of school finished, now for the best part of the day! I head to the club, and I see that I'm the last one once again.
Aki: "What is this wizardry? I'm always the last one!"
Natsuki: "That's because you're as slow as a sloth."
Yuri: "Natsuki! That's-"
Natsuki: "Yeah yeah I get it, you say that every time."
Monika: "Hey Aki, how was your day today?"
Aki: "Pretty boring as usual. How about you?"
Monika: "Just going to school as usual."
Monika and I decided that we would keep our relationship a secret from everyone for now. So we try and act normal whenever someone is around.
Aki: "Anything planned for today?"
Monika: "Not really, just the normal club activities. Which would also be nothing..."
Natsuki: "Ey, how 'bout we end the club meeting early?"
Monika: "That's... not a terrible idea..."
Yuri: "I do have some homework to do, so I would prefer that option."
Sayori: "I have some homework as well, so is it okay if we end this meeting early?"
Monika: "Aki, what about you?"
I just shoot Monika an innocent smile, because I'm really eager to go on our date.
Natsuki: "Say something goddammit!"
Monika: "No no it's okay, he wants to leave early as well."
Natsuki: "And how do you know Ms. Mind Reader?"
Monika: "Just... trust me on this one."
Natsuki: "If you say so..."
Monika: "Alrighty then, with that we can end the club meeting today!"
Everyone packs up for the day to go home.
Aki: "Ready to go home Sayori!"
Sayori: "Yep!"
I grab my bag and head back home. I reach home and change into some casual clothes. Jeans and a hoodie, the perfect combo. I go back to my living room and wait for Monika.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
I walk up to the door and open it.
Aki: "Y'know, there's a thing called a doorbell."
Monika: "I know! But I prefer knocking as it's more traditional."
Aki: "So you like hurting your hand until you get an answer?"
Monika: "Pretty much! Shall we get going?"
Aki: "Yeah, let's go."
We walk outside and start walking in a general direction.
Aki: "Sooo... where do you want to go?"
Monika: "Well, I'm not that familiar with this area. Do you mind being a tour guide?"
Aki: "Uh okay... how does an arcade sound?"
Monika: "Sure! Lead the way, Mr. Tour Guide!"
We reach the arcade and get some cards to last us for a few hours.
Aki: "So, since you're the guest, you can choose the games."
Monika: "Before we start, I have an idea of how to make this more fun."
Aki: "I'm listening."
Monika: "We'll each take turns choosing games, and at the end of the day we see who has the most tickets. The person with the lowest tickets does a dare from the other person."
Aki: "Ooh... sounds interesting! I'm up for the challenge!"
Monika: "Alright then, we'll start with that game!"
Monika points to a whack-a-mole game. Seems good for a starter.
Aki: "Alrighty, I'm a man of manners so, ladies first."
Monika: "What a gentleman!"
Monika plays first and I stand back, mainly so I don't get hit. Monika scores a decent 900 points. I think I can do better.
Aki: "I must unlock my hidden powers. Time to go ultra instinct mode!"
I play the game and... 600?! Dang, I suck at this.
Monika: "Oh you're done! Let me know when you decide to use your ultra instinct powers."
Aki: "...shut up."
Monika: "Ahaha, alright, you pick the next game."
Now to show off a little, I can't let Monika steal all my spotlight.
Aki: "Hmm... how about that one?"
Monika: "Basketball eh? Alright, I'll play along."
What's that supposed to mean? Doesn't matter. We head to the basketball game and set up for a multiplayer match. The buzzer indicates the start of the game. Monika and I are shooting hoops like crazy. She's better than I thought she would be. Nevertheless I won, but only by a few points.
Aki: "Wow, I did not expect you to be that good."
Monika: "Being in the B-team in middle school really helped."
Aki: "Wait, you played basketball in middle school?"
Monika: "Yep! I wasn't the best or anything, but I would say I'm pretty good."
Aki: "I was in the C-team in our freshman year of high school, but that's about it."
Monika: "That's pretty good! Making a team in high school is way more competitive than middle school, so props to you."
Aki: "Aw, I'm blushing."
I try to say that in the most monotone voice possible to emphasize my sarcasm.
Monika: "Okay then, onto the next game! Let's go to the skee ball!"
Aki: "Are you good at skee ball?"
Monika: "I'd say I'm decent, why?"
Aki: "Last time I came here with Sayori, she crushed me, so I didn't want a repeat of that."
Monika: "I can assure you that I think we are of equal skill."
Aki: "Alright, you can go first."
Monika: "I went first last time, so you go first this time."
Aki: "Gonna try and impress me?"
Monika: "Maaaybe..."
I play first and... 9,000. I think that's more than what I got last time.
Aki: "Alright, your turn."
Monika: "Amateur."
Aki: "What the hell? Sayori literally said that last time I came here!"
Monika: "Well then she's right. Watch a pro do it."
Monika then plays the game and gets 17K, more than Sayori and probably the highest score I've ever seen.
Aki: "So uh, is there a way to forfeit our challenge?"
Monika: "If you accept to do the dare!"
Aki: "What?! No way!"
Monika: "Then just get better."
Aki: "Fine. Let's do that one."
I point toward this bike racing game. I'm really good at these games, but I hope Monika isn't better.
Monika: "Nooooo, I'm bad at the racing games! I always crash!"
Aki: "This'll be easy then."
We head over to the racing game and hop on a bike. This game supports multiplayer as well, which is cool. The race begins and I get a headstart.
I'm doing really well, but I can't say the same for Monika. She's in last place and crashing in every place possible. The race finishes and I end up getting first. Monika got seventh when there were eight racers.
Monika: "Phew, at least I didn't get last!"
Aki: "You're not wrong about that. Anyways, your pick next."
We kept playing in the arcade for another two hours or so. Soon enough, our cards tell us that our balance is up.
Aki: "Now for the moment of truth."
Monika: "Yep!"
We head to the ticket counter and see how many tickets we have. We both swipe our cards and... what?!
Monika: "Hah! I have more tickets! You know what that means!"
Aki: "Ugh fine, we'll go outside and you can tell me the dare. You wanna save our tickets in case we come another time?"
Monika: "Sounds good to me!"
We head outside, and I wait for Monika to tell me my dare.
Monika: "I'll keep it simple. I dare you to... show me an embarrassing childhood photo!"
Aki: "What?!"
Monika: "Ah ah ah, you can't go back on your word now!"
Aki: "No, I didn't say 'what' for that. I said 'what' because that's what you choose to use as your dare?"
Monika: "Yeah... what's wrong?"
Aki: "It's so small and simple!"
Monika: "Well, I didn't want to do anything too mean!"
Aki: "I guess that's fair. Alright, all my childhood photos are at home, would you like to come over?"
Monika: "Sure! It is getting dark anyways."
We head back to my house. Dang, I have some kind of chest pain. Must be because I was playing a lot of games. I clutch my chest in pain, and Monika seems to notice.
Monika: "Aki? Is something wrong?"
Aki: "I'm fine, just some chest pain."
Monika: "Does it hurt badly?"
Aki: "No, it's probably because I was playing a lot of games in the arcade. Some Tylenol should help."
Monika: "Okay... if you say so..."
