(Tuesday, 9:30AM; House; Monika's PoV)
Mmm, that was a good sleep. I pick up my phone to check the time-
It's 9:30?! Well, it's not that bad, since my aim was nine in the morning. I head out of my bedroom and head to the bathroom. In the hallway, I can smell this weird, but pleasant scent. I don't think too much of it, and do my morning routine. I then head downstairs after getting ready for the day. Upon heading into the kitchen, I see that Natsuki is cooking something.
Natsuki: "Morning Juliet, did you stay up all night texting Romeo?"
Monika: "Oh shut up, we weren't texting for that long. What are you doing by the way?"
Natsuki: "Making breakfast. It's the least I can do since you let me stay here overnight."
Monika: "Natsuki, I said it wasn't a big deal. You were in a tough situation, and I helped you out."
Natsuki: "I know! But I can still say thank you, right? Plus, I doubt you were going to cook up something for breakfast."
Monika: "Hey! That's… accurate…"
Natsuki: "Lemme guess, you were gonna whip up a cup of coffee, right?"
Monika: "How did you know?"
Natsuki: "Monika, you've told me you're a coffee addict. I know how coffee addicts start their day."
Monika: "Alright, you caught me red-handed. What're you cooking?"
Natsuki: "Just some pancakes."
Natsuki then comes to the dining table, and places two plates with pancakes on the table.
Monika: "Wow, these look amazing, Natsuki!"
Natuski: "Of course, I'm a pro!"
Monika: "Ahaha, yes you are."
Natsuki then takes a seat at the table, and we begin eating.
Natsuki: "So, what's the plan for today?"
Monika: "Well, I was thinking that we meet up with Aki to brainstorm on how we're going to go through with the plan."
Natsuki: "Where do you plan on meeting up with him?"
Monika: "I was thinking of calling him here. It'd be the easiest since both of us are here. And he's the only one who has to do the walking."
Natsuki: "Heh, I'm fine with that."
Monika: "Alright, I'll call him after we're done with breakfast."
We both finish breakfast, and I pull out my phone to call him. I dial his number, and the call keeps ringing for a while. I swear to god if he's still sleeping-
Aki: "H-hello?"
Just as I thought, I woke him up. Jesus Christ, he needs to fix his sleep schedule.
Monika: "Hey, Aki. It's me."
Aki: "H-hey Monika!"
Monika: "Listen, can you come over to my place as soon as possible?"
Aki: "Anything important?"
Monika: "Well, Natsuki's here so I thought we could brainstorm about your idea."
Aki: "Alright. I'll be there in half an hour. See you then."
Monika: "Bye, Aki."
I cut the call, and turn towards Natsuki.
Natsuki: "What'd he say?"
Monika: "He'll be here in half an hour."
Natsuki: "Cool."
(Tuesday, 10:00AM; House; Akihito's PoV)
RING RING RING
Oh my god… who the fuck is calling me at this time? I pick up my phone and check the contact name. Oh, it's Monika. I pick up the phone, hopefully I don't sound like I just woke up.
Aki: "H-hello?"
Monika: "Hey, Aki. It's me."
Aki: "H-hey Monika! What's up?"
Monika: "I know you just woke up, no need to act."
Aki: "Dammit, how did you know?"
Monika: "I know your sleep schedule, Aki. Plus your voice gives it away."
Aki: "Damn, I need to get better at masking my voice."
Monika: "Listen, can you come over to my place as soon as possible?"
That's strange of her to ask me to come over out of the blue.
Aki: "Anything important?"
Monika: "Well, Natsuki's here so I thought we could brainstorm about your idea."
Aki: "Alright. I'll be there in half an hour. See you then."
Monika: "Bye, Aki."
I get out of bed and do my morning routine. I then put on some clothes and head downstairs.
Akira: "Akihito? Is that you?"
Aki: "Yep."
Akira: "How come you're up this early?"
Aki: "Monika called. She wants me to head over to her place."
Akira: "Ahaha, okay. Want a quick breakfast before you go?"
Aki: "No, it's okay."
Akira: "Okay then. Have fun, and come back soon!"
Aki: "Will do. See you later, Mom."
I head out to Monika's house. Once I arrive, I ring the doorbell. A few seconds later, Monika opens the door.
Aki: "Hey, what's up."
Monika: "Nothing much. Come on in."
Monika directs me to the living room, where Natsuki has already taken a seat. Monika takes a seat on the couch, and I sit next to her.
Aki: "Alright, let's get started. I assume Monika told you what's gonna happen, right Natsuki?"
Natsuki: "Yep, although I'm still hesitant. What's your full plan?"
Aki: "Well, first we need to gather a good amount of evidence. Then we need to go to the police with said evidence, and then we see what the police decide what to do next. If we get enough evidence, then we can send your father to jail for hopefully a long time."
Monika: "How long are you planning?"
Aki: "Enough time for Natsuki to turn 18 and relocate to a much better and safer place. No offense, Natsuki, but I wouldn't want you staying where you are now. That would take maybe a year, depending on when Natsuki turns 18."
Natsuki: "Around three months."
Aki: "Okay, so yeah. Around a year. Obviously with the big charge we're trying to have against him, it'll be easily over ten years, so I guess it's not that big of a worry."
Natsuki: "Alright. How do you plan on getting evidence?"
Aki: "Well, we can start with some photos, with your permission of course, and then maybe a victim statement from you and a witness statement from the rest of us."
Natsuki: "P-photos?"
Aki: "Yeah, are you not comfortable with that?"
Natsuki: "N-no it's okay…"
Aki: "We don't have to take photos of… personal areas… just your arms are fine. If there are any other places you're okay with taking photos of, let us know."
Natsuki: "O-okay…"
Aki: "Monika can take those photos, I wouldn't want to invade your privacy. And I will not even take a peek at those photos."
Natsuki: "Y-you better not, you perv!"
Aki: "Scout's honor, I will not dare to think of looking at them."
Monika: "Anything else to add?"
Aki: "It's best if we finish this before the break ends. So we have just over a week's worth of time. That way we have the maximum amount of time possible, and we won't have the stress of school alongside."
Monika: "Alright, sounds good."
Just as we finish our conversation, my stomach starts to grumble slightly.
Aki: "Heh, I was in a rush to get here, guess I forgot to eat something."
Natsuki: "We have some extra pancakes, you can take some."
Aki: "Really? Thank you so much. I'll take them home to eat."
Natsuki: "Alright. Monika, where's the aluminum foil?"
Monika: "Should be in the pantry. I'll get it for you."
Monika and Natsuki then head into the kitchen, presumably to get the pancakes Natsuki offered. After a few minutes, they both come back to the living room.
Natsuki: "Here, catch."
Natsuki then tosses me what I assume is the pancakes. I catch it with one hand easily.
Natsuki: "Huh, nice reflexes."
Aki: "Thanks. Anyways, I'll leave now. Monika, let me know when you've got the photo evidence ready."
Monika: "Will do. Bye, Aki!"
Aki: "See ya."
I then leave Monika's house, and head back to my own house. Once I arrive home, I head to the kitchen and grab a plate. I then unwrap the pancakes and put it on the plate, and then put it in the microwave. Once it's finished, I take the pancakes and sit at the dining table.
Akira: "Welcome back, Akihito. Whatcha got there?"
Aki: "Pancakes from Monika's place. Here, take one."
I then hand Mom a pancake, and she takes a bite out of it.
Akira: "Mmm, these are really good! Tell Monika that they're amazing."
Aki: "Will do."
Akira: "I'm gonna take a nap. See you later."
Aki: "Sweet dreams."
Mom heads to the bedroom, and I take out my phone. I see that Monika sent me a few messages.
Monika: hey
Monika: just took the pics
Aki: cool
I send a reply, and it doesn't take long for Monika to respond.
Monika: what now?
Aki: i think that's all for today
Aki: we can go to the police station tomorrow for our statements if natsuki is ok with it
Monika: brb i'll ask her
Aki: k
I wait for Monika to send a text.
Monika: she's hesitant about it
Monika: what do i tell her
Aki: tell her to trust me in doing this, and that i'll make sure nothing out of line will happen
Monika: k i'll tell her that
I wait again for Monika to send a text. I take a bite out of the pancakes, and I gotta say, they're pretty good.
Monika: just told her what you said, she's ok with going tomorrow
Aki: nice
Monika: she wants to know who all are going
Aki: just us 3
Monika: alr
Aki: we'll go tomorrow at around 11 in the morning
Aki: so that we can finish by lunchtime
Aki: and then we 3 can go somewhere to eat
Aki: i'll pay for lunch
Monika: sounds good
Monika: anything else?
Aki: nope
Aki: actually
Aki: tell natsuki the pancakes are amazing
Monika: she says "you're welcome"
Monika: and "of course they are, i'm a pro"
Aki: classic natsuki
Monika: XD
We end up texting each other for a few more minutes, before Monika says that she has to go. We send each other a parting message, and then I put my phone away. I finish eating my pancakes, and then head up to my bedroom to play some video games.
(Wednesday, 10:00AM; House; Akihito's PoV)
BEEP BEEP BEEP
I wake up, and turn off my alarm. I set an alarm for today so that I don't wake up late. I get out of bed and do my morning routine. Before heading downstairs, I call Monika. After a few seconds, she picks up.
Monika: "Hello?"
Aki: "Hey, it's me. You ready?"
Monika: "Yeah, I finished getting ready, Natsuki's currently getting ready."
Aki: "She stayed last night as well?"
Monika: "She said that she's scared to go back home. Her father is probably extremely pissed at her for running away."
Aki: "That makes sense. Alright, is it okay if I head to your house in like twenty minutes?"
Monika: "Sure. Want me to save you some breakfast?"
Aki: "That's fine, I'll have it here. Mom's probably made something and she won't leave me alone if I don't eat, heh."
Monika: "Ahaha, alright then. I'll see you soon. Bye, Aki."
Aki: "Bye, Monika."
I cut the call and head downstairs.
Akira: "Aki? Is that you?"
Aki: "Yep."
Akira: "Are you slowly fixing your sleep schedule or something? You never wake up this early on breaks."
Aki: "Heh, I'm actually going on a date with Monika today."
I can't let Mom know what the actual plan is.
Akira: "Didn't you meet her yesterday?"
Aki: "Yeah, I guess she misses me a lot, heh."
Akira: "Ahaha, okay. Would you like some breakfast?"
Aki: "Yes please, I'm gonna be out for sometime. We plan on having lunch outdoors too."
Akira: "Ooh, sounds fun!"
Mom then gives me a plate. On it is some classic bacon and eggs.
Aki: "Thanks, Mom."
Akira: "You're welcome."
I head to the dining table, and quickly eat my breakfast. Once I'm done, I put my plate in the sink.
Aki: "Alright, I'm heading out now."
Akira: "Have fun!"
I head out to Monika's house for the second time in a row. Once I reach Monika's house, I knock on the door. A few seconds later, Monika opens the door.
Monika: "Hey Aki! Come on in."
Aki: "Thanks."
I head inside her house and she leads me to the living room. I look around, and Natsuki is nowhere to be seen.
Aki: "Is Natsuki not here?"
Monika: "She's upstairs taking a shower. She'll be here soon."
Aki: "Alright."
Monika: "What's the plan for today?"
Aki: "Well there's the obvious going to the police station. There, the three of us will give our statements and press charges against Natsuki's father. After that… well I'm not sure."
Monika: "What do you mean by that?"
Aki: "Well, once we give our statements, they'll ask us to leave and they'll investigate. Basically, what we do next depends on what the police decide to do. They could take up the case and actually investigate, and hopefully send Natsuki's father to jail. Or they can just call our whole thing bullshit."
Monika: "Can they even do that? Why would they do that?"
Aki: "To answer your first question, I'm not sure if they can, I'm not a cop. Maybe they can, maybe they can't. For your second question, there could be multiple reasons. Maybe we don't have enough evidence, or they push us away because we're too young. Or, Natsuki's parents or guardian should be present, and not just two random friends."
Just then, Natsuki comes downstairs with a nervous expression.
Monika: "Natsuki? Something wrong?"
Natsuki: "I-I… I can't do this…"
