BEEP BEEP BEEP
Ugh… I don't wanna go to school today… but I have to. I get out of my bed and do my morning routine. After that, I head downstairs to get some breakfast. I then head outside to meet-
Huh? Where are they? Shouldn't Sayori and Natsuki be outside? School's about to start! Eh, I'll just head inside Sayori's house. I'm sure she won't mind, we did it many times during our childhood. Taking the key from the secret place, I unlock the door and head in.
Aki: "Hello? Anyone home?"
No answer. I guess I'll head up to Sayori's room. I head up the stairs and find Sayori's room. Outside Sayori's room, I knock on her door.
Aki: "Sayori? Wake up dummy…"
There's no response. I really didn't want to have to enter her room like this… isn't it kind of a breach of privacy? But she really leaves me no choice. I gently open the door.
Aki: "S-Sayo-"
I fully open the door to see Sayori…
Aki: "Sayori?! W-what?! What are you doing?!"
Sayori shifts around in her bed.
Sayori: "H-huh? A-Aki…? What are you doing here?"
Aki: "We gotta get to school! Get ready!"
Sayori: "W-what…? No we don't… it's a holiday…"
Wait… what?
Aki: "It is?"
Natsuki: "Yeah it is, dummy. Thought you'd remember, considering you're the type to always want a holiday."
I turn around behind me and see the source of the voice.
Aki: "Heh… guess I forgot to turn off my alarm… sorry for waking you guys up…"
Natsuki: "Yeah you better be! What the hell are you doing here anyways?!"
Aki: "I thought we had school today, and since I didn't see you guys outside, I thought you both were sleeping in."
Natsuki: "Okay… but that doesn't explain why you just barged into Sayori's house!"
Aki: "Oh, we used to do it so many times as kids, and sometimes we do it now."
Natsuki: "Sayori? Is this idiot telling the truth?"
Aki: "I am NOT an idiot!"
Sayori: "Yeah, it's true. We did it all the time as kids, so we don't really care now."
Natsuki: "Huh, okay then. Well, I'm heading back to bed."
Natuski then leaves me and Sayori to ourselves. I awkwardly turn around to face Sayori, who's looking at me in disapproval. I try to smile to lighten the mood, but she's not having any of it.
Aki: "I'm…sorry?"
Sayori: "Out. Now."
Aki: "Yep, will do."
I then leave Sayori's room and head out of her house. Then, I lock the door and head to my house. Wow, to think I forgot to turn off my alarm. I enter my home and head upstairs to my bedroom. I change out of my uniform and into what I was wearing before, and drop on my bed.

RING RING RING
W-what the hell…? Who's calling me this early? I slowly rise from my bed and pick up my phone to see who called me. But by the time I pick up my phone, the call goes away. Huh, must've been a scam call. I put my phone back down and head back to bed.
RING RING RING
Goddammit… I pick up my phone to see who's calling me. I look at the screen to see Monika calling. Huh? Why would she be calling me this early? I pick up the phone without delay.
Aki: "Hello?"
Monika: "Good morning, Aki!"
Aki: "Morning to you too… any reason as to why you called?"
Monika: "Yeah, I'm outside your house right now!"
Aki: "Wait what?! Why are you here?!"
Monika: "Today's the day of the state fair! You said we'd go, right?"
Oh right… I did.
Aki: "Alright, I'll be down there."
I cut the call and head downstairs and open the door to let Monika enter.
Aki: "Hey Monika…"
Monika: "Hey!"
Aki: "Come in… I need to brush my teeth and all that, so you can just chill and watch some TV."
Monika: "Sounds good."
Monika heads to my living room, while I head up to the restroom. I brush my teeth and take a quick shower, and head downstairs.
Aki: "Alright, I'm ready."
Monika: "What about breakfast?"
Aki: "That's fine, I normally don't eat breakfast."
Monika: "But breakfast is the most important meal of the day!"
Aki: "Your point being?"
Monika: "Eat something!"
Aki: "Fine… I'll see what I have."
I head to the kitchen and see if there's something that I can eat. After a few minutes of searching, I pick up a banana and show it to Monika.
Aki: "How's this?"
Monika: "Really? That's it?"
Aki: "I have one for you too."
Monika: "No thanks. Just eat the banana and we'll head out."
Aki: "Alright."
I quickly finish the banana and throw the peel into the trash can.
Aki: "Done. Anything else?"
Monika: "Not that I can think of."
Aki: "Cool, shall we head out then?"
Monika: "Sure!"
Monika and I head out towards the state fair. Upon arriving, I see that there's a huge crowd.
Aki: "Wow, seems a little crowded, don't you think?"
Monika: "Well, this is a very popular event."
Aki: "That's fair. What do you want to do first?"
Monika: "How about we start small and play some of the games?"
Aki: "Alright, but don't expect me to win anything. You know these games are rigged."
Monika: "Yes, I know. Let's go!"
Monika grabs my arm and practically drags me over to a few of the games here. We each take turns playing the games there. As expected, we didn't win anything. But then I spot a game, which I'm really good at.
Aki: "Hey, Monika?"
Monika: "Hm?"
Aki: "There's a game which I'm good at, and they have some nice prizes."
Monika: "Oh? Which game?"
Aki: "Come on, I'll show you."
I then lead the way to the game.
Monika: "The milk bottle toss?"
Aki: "Yeah, I always win these. Just watch."
Monika: "Okay…"
I give money to the person running the stand, and he gives me three balls to knock down the bottles. I throw the first ball and knock down the milk bottles easily.
Clerk: "Wow, that's impressive! I've never seen anyone beat this first try!"
Aki: "Heh, thanks."
Clerk: "Here's your prize, sir!"
The clerk then gives me a big stuffed animal, which I then hand to Monika.
Aki: "Here, this is for you."
Monika: "Really?!"
Aki: "Of course. Everyone knows us men have to win the stuffed animal for our lover."
Clerk: "That I can say is correct! You're very lucky to have this skilled man, ma'am."
Monika: "Thank you!"
Monika and I then walk away from the booth, looking around to see what we should do.
Monika: "Ooh, the ferris wheel!"
Aki: "Really? You're not scared of heights?"
Monika: "Me? Scared of heights? Never. Why, are you?"
Aki: "Never said I was."
Monika: "Good, let's head there then, shall we?"
Aki: "Sure."
Monika and I head to the ferris wheel. Surprisingly, there isn't that much of a wait until we're in one of the carts. We both get in the cart, and the ride starts.
Aki: "Ready for the best view in the world?"
Monika: "I wouldn't say it's the best in the world, but it is a great view nevertheless."
The cart slowly rises, and we eventually make it to the highest point.
Monika: "Wow…"
I look to see Monika looking outside with an astonished face. I can't really blame her, the view really is amazing. The ride shortly ends, and we step out of the ferris wheel cart. We then roam around the fair, looking to see what we can do.
A pained feeling in my chest occurs, and I clench my chest.
Aki: "Ow…"
Monika: "Aki? What's wrong?"
Aki: "My chest is hurting again…"
Monika: "Oh dear… we should head home."
Aki: "N-no it's okay… it's not as bad as it was last time."
Monika: "Are you sure? We pretty much covered everything here."
Aki: "Yeah, I'm sure. Let's stay. It's not everyday we get to go to the state fair. Let's enjoy it to the fullest."
Monika: "If you say so…"
We continue walking around the fair, the pain slowly going away.
Aki: "Hey, you wanna get something to eat?"
Monika: "Like what?"
Aki: "Corn dogs, fried shrimp, turkey legs, and-"
I see Monika staring at me with a neutral face. Then I realize what I'm saying.
Aki: "Whoops, forgot you were vegetarian, heh."
Monika: "It's okay, it's not something big to remember."
Aki: "Uh… there's some french fries. Does that sound good?"
Monika: "Sure!"
We both head to one of the food stands, and get in line. After a few minutes, we reach the front. I order the fries, and we receive a big bucket with some ketchup on the side.
Aki: "Wow, that's a lot. Think we can finish it?"
Monika: "We can eat a little today and then take the rest home."
Aki: "That's fair. Let's find a place to sit."
We walk around and find a small table for dining. Monika and I sit down and begin to eat.
Aki: "Alright, I'll split it into three portions."
Monika: "Wait, three? Who's the third person?"
Aki: "Oh come on, you don't want to share with your stuffed animal? How rude of you Monika."
Monika: "Oh please, it's not like it can eat anything."
Aki: "Is that so? Let's ask it, shall we?"
Monika: "Aki… are you really gonna do this?"
I then chuckle a little, thinking to myself how funny this is.
Aki: "Alright alright, I'll stop. Here's your fries."
I then hand Monika some fries in the bowl we got. We eat our fries in relative silence, with only some small talk about what to do next. After we finish, I pick up the bucket and look in it.
Aki: "Hey, Monika?"
Monika: "Yeah?"
Aki: "Let's be honest, we're not gonna be able to finish this, and it's gonna be a pain to carry this around the whole time."
Monika: "Hmm… that is true… what should we do then?"
Aki: "How about we give it to a little kid? I'm sure the parents would be thankful that they don't have to pay."
Monika: "Is that okay?"
Aki: "I mean, it's just a random act of kindness, right?"
Monika: "I guess so… okay. Let's find a family with a small kid."
Aki: "Nice."
We then get up from the table, and begin to wander around the area, looking to see who we can give the french fries to. I eventually spot a kid asking his parents to get something from the food stand, but his parents refuse.
Aki: "Hey, look over there. A kid asking his parents for something. Perfect opportunity."
Monika: "Okay, let's give it to them."
We then approach the family.
Aki: "Excuse me, sir?"
Father: "Oh, hello there! How can I help you, young man?"
Aki: "I noticed your son was wanting something from the food stands."
Father: "Oh, yeah. We already bought him something, but he just won't stop asking, heh."
Aki: "Well, me and my girlfriend bought this bucket of fries, but we couldn't finish it. We thought of giving it to you and your family. It'll make your son happy, and save you the money, heh."
Father: "Oh, that's so kind of you!"
Aki: "No problem."
I then hand the bucket over to the father, who then turns towards his son.
Father: "Hey son, look what I got!"
Son: "French fries! Thank you daddy!"
Father: "Don't thank me, thank these two nice people here."
The father then points towards me and Monika.
Son: "Thank you!"
Aki: "No problem kid. Make sure to do well in school!"
Son: "Yes sir!"
The father then gives the bucket to his son, and he starts to eat with his mother.
Mother: "Thank you so much!"
Father: "Yes, thank you very much. You are very kind."
Aki: "It's no problem, really. We just didn't want to waste the fries, and seeing your son so happy makes me happy."
Father: "Yep, a child's happiness is the best thing one can see."
Aki: "You can say that again. Anyways, we'll take our leave."
Father: "Ah, okay. Thanks again!"
Monika and I wave to the father, and walk away.
Aki: "Wow, that made me feel good."
Monika: "It sure did. Hey, wanna go on that roller coaster?"
Aki: "Hell yeah!"
Monika and I go to the roller coaster, and stand in line. Soon enough, it's our turn. We get into our seats, and the ride starts. As the ride accelerates, the pained feeling in my chest returns. Once again, I clutch it in hopes that it eases the pain, but it only makes it worse. I turn towards Monika to try and get her attention, but she's enjoying the ride too much to turn around.
Aki: "M-Monika…"
She can't hear me… please… turn around…
