"-consider getting you your own bed too..."
"How big is your place?"
Shota paused in his step and looked down at the girl whose hand was tucked away in his. "Hm, it's a lot more spacious than I think you realize. You saw my room and the adjoined living room and kitchen. I don't think you saw the so-called storage room..."
"Storage room?"
"It's a spare bedroom that has been storing books, among other things. However, once I clean it up, it'll be perfect for a little girl's bedroom."
"Mine?"
He chuckled, "no, some other little girl."
Shaking her head, she swung her arm back and forth as they started walking again. "Hey, look!" Stopping again, she pulled Shota to a magazine stand and pointed at a magazine cover. "It's you, right?!"
He squatted down in front of the stand beside her and looked at the cover. It was him. That someone had captured a relatively decent picture of him was praiseworthy since he went out of his way to avoid cameras. 'When was this?' He opened it up to the center of the magazine and frowned before closing it and placing it back up on the stand. "That was a few days ago. To think I let my guard down,"
"You don't like pictures?" Kagome questioned as she turned the page of her own magazine.
"Heroes should never indulge in publicity. You start to lose sight of why you became a hero in the first place." He held his hand out as he stood straight and watched her hand the magazine back to the man behind the stand. "Shall we?"
"Yeah!"

(ONE WEEK LATER)
Kagome held up a screw to Shota, who was on his knees before a bedframe. He took the screw and started on it as she picked up another one for him. They were in the spare bedroom; her new bed had arrived about an hour ago, and they were almost done setting it up. He had gotten her a big bed for her to grow into. Saying that she would stay pintsized for the rest of her life. After he took the screw, she picked up another. "This is the last one."
"You want to grab the comforter and sheets you picked out?"
"Alright." She handed the last screw over and left to the living room. "Soba, hey kitty." On top of the bedding bag, a black cat was lying curled on its side, belly up. Another cat rubbed up against her leg, and she laughed at the attention-seeking feline. "He doesn't come off as the type to have cats, but he's just a big softy." Kagome gave both cats a gentle pat before moving the one atop her bag to the floor. Grabbing the bag, she returned to the room where Shota had fixed the mattress on top of the bed frame.
"Here," he held his hand out and took the bag. Unzipping it, he pulled from it the comforter, flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases, and a throw blanket. "Can you put the pillowcases on the pillows?"
Kagome took the two pillowcases and grabbed the two pillows while he started fitting the first sheet to the bed. Putting the bed together took little more than twenty minutes as they worked together with the finishing touches. Kagome placed her covered pillows on top of her bed and smiled as she climbed onto it and sat down on it. "We're done!"
"Looks that way." Shota picked up the trash and yawned. "Just in time for a nap."
"So lazy."
"You look like you're about to pass out too."
"...hmph."
He smirked; his eyes fell over the girl who lay curled onto her side. Her eyes shut, and her hair splayed out across her still too small form. Looking at her wrists, he frowned and sighed. "Before either of us take a nap, let's go eat."
"I'm not hungry."
"I wasn't asking."
"Yeesh..." she muttered as she rolled off her bed and onto her feet, "going from a basket a week to three meals a day...it's not easy." She picked Soba up as he came running into her room. "Hey, those books you got, are those for me?"
Shota looked back at the kitchen table and nodded, "Academic books. You'll be studying for school next term."
"..." Kagome placed Soba down and picked up the history book. Opening it, she smiled and pointed, "it's All Might! The Symbol of Peace!"
"The Symbol of Exhaustion."
"What? What do you mean?"
"Watching him wears me out."
Laughing, Kagome turned the page, "I'm not good at reading. I can get through some of this, but I don't get it all..."
"We'll work on it together." Shota picked up the salt on the counter, "don't think for a second that you're alone in this, Kagome. I'll be there every step of the way."
"Promise?"
He smiled, "promise."
"Good! Because I wouldn't let you out of helping even if you begged."
