I've been feeling inspired since the last episode.
Once the cartoon was rolling, Krusty went over to where Sideshow Bob still lay face-down on the stage.
"Sideshow Bob, get off your a-I mean, butt and give Britney a sucker."
A sore and scowling Sideshow Bob pulled himself up and led the birthday girl to the bowl that contained lollipops shaped like Krusty's head. He always had to hand them out to the kids who were invited onstage for their birthdays, and sometimes he dreaded it as much as getting shot out of the cannon. They'd whine for more, or ask if the lollipops were sugar-free, or have tantrums if they didn't get their favourite flavour.
Bob, eager to get this over with, gave little Britney a random lollipop and hoped that would be the end of it. No such luck today.
"Ew, this is lemon," Britney whined. "I like orange!"
Rolling his eyes, Bob handed her an orange lollipop. He wanted to tell her that it wouldn't be any different, and that these lollipops all tasted pretty much the same, having once tasted each flavour out of curiosity. Unfortunately, Bob couldn't do that, because he wasn't allowed to actually speak to the kids.
"I'm seven today," said Britney, "so I should get seven suckers."
Resisting the urge to scream, Bob held out a fistful of lollipops and pointed to her empty seat in the audience. Britney took off without as much as a "thank you".
He was so tired of this same humiliating and frustrating routine. Tonight, Bob was finally going to do something.
