After that whole mess with trying to kill Bart at Five Corners, Bob and Walt got their real faces restored. To Bob's pleasant surprise, the prison actually had a decent surgeon. Once the anesthesia wore off and the bandages were removed, Bob was a little anxious as to what he might see.
Bob was glad to see his own face in the mirror once more. The surgeon had warned him there would be scars, but they didn't seem too obvious. He was also warned to mind the stitches.
Bob was careful not to get overtly and excessively excited, lest he find himself leaving the prison hospital in a straitjacket. He held the mirror with the hand that wasn't shackled to the hospital bed, and he took in every detail of his face. He'd never truly appreciated his long face or his insane hair before. The expressions Walt Warren had made while wearing Bob's face had made Bob's face look like that of a buffoon. Bob was able to provide an air of dignity to his otherwise ridiculous face, and he was very relieved to have it back.
This was the most idiotic and mad plan Bob had ever come up with, and he'd decided not to mutilate or alter himself ever again...at least until he started his genetic experiments at Monsarno.
