Chapter 20: Will's Greatest Secret
Later on in the day school proceeded as normal with no issues.
After school had finished Class 1-A prepared to leave, anxious to get home and prepare for the Festival when they were met by an unlikely crowd of visitors.
The moment they opened the door to leave, their exit was blocked by a crowd of U.A. students all coming from the different courses, taking the class by surprise.
"Why the heck are you all here?!" Asked Uraraka as she wondered.
Will, Midoriya and Ida had the same confused looks as she did as well.
"Do you students have business with our class?" Asked Will as she attempted to ask the large group, getting no response while some of Class 1-A approached the entrance.
"What's the deal?" Asked Yoarashi in confusion.
"I knew we faced off against villains but are we popular or what?" Asked Yoarashi curiously, crossing his arms.
"Then why are they giving us those looks and why are they blocking our exit?" Asked Kaminari as he getting slightly nervous.
"Their scouting out the competition idiots." Said Bakugo calmly as he started to walk past his class and towards the door.
"It's just what baldy said, we're the class who survived a real villain attack, they wanna see us with their own eyes." Said Bakugo.
"Bald?!" Yelled Yoarashi, becoming easily offended after what Bakugo said.
"I don't think he meant to say that to tease you man." Said Kirishima as he tried to reassure Yoarashi.
"At least you all know what a future Pro look like, now move, extras." Said Bakugo.
"You can't call people extras just because you don't know them Bakugo!" Yelled Will.
Ida was being taken by surprise by the boy's words.
"Katchan, you shouldn't be calling everyone that!" Yelled Midoriya as he right beside Uraraka, but was left with no answer from the boy.
"So this is Class 1-A huh?" Asked a calm tone from the crowd as the unknown student approached the door entrance.
"I heard you guys were impressive but you just sound like an ass." Said The voice that came from a purple haired student, who looked as if he was emotionless or calm as he finally made it to the door entrance.
"Is everyone here delusional or is it just this guy?" Asked the purple haired student.
Bakugo growled, with some of his classmates panicking in the background hoping Bakugo wouldn't blow anyone up.
"Not just him, but he's not delusional, more like a walking volcano." Said Michiru teasingly without hesitation while she sat on her desk beside Jiro, trying to get the class out of the hole Bakugo was digging them in.
"Try an unstable dynamite." Said Will, as she was enjoying having an ally make fun of Bakugo.
Bakugo turned his head, glaring towards the two girls and becoming more annoyed and frustrated with the people around him.
"What did you say red hair and raccoon?!" Yelled Bakugo.
Midoriya and his group were panicking even more while some of the class became surprised that Michiru had the guts to call him out again.
"You damn well heard us!" Yelled Will.
"And for the record I'm a Tanuki, dumbass." Said Michiru.
"Who gives a shit!" Yelled Bakugo
"At least there are a few people in the hero course doesn't sound delusional." Said The boy looked over at Michiru and Will who spoke in the corner and back at Bakugo who sneered at both students.
"The names Hitoshi Shinso, i'm from Class 1-B." Said Shinso.
Oh yeah, i forgot that there are two 1 year classes. Thought Will.
"I should warn you that if you don't prove yourselves at the Sports Festival then you can kiss this course goodbye." Said Shinso.
The boy began to go one, leaving some of the students confused at first of what he was referring to until he got to the point.
"Some students have a second chance, if some do well in the Sports Festival the teachers can decide to move us into the hero course." Said Shinso.
"However, to do so they have to move some of the original hero course students out to make room." Said Shinso.
Some of the class gasped, shocked to hear that despite earning their place in the hero course, that there was still a chance for others to steal their spots.
Even Michiru was taken by surprise, for the teachers to do such a thing would be unfair but she understood it both ways.
"So that means if even one person doesn't do well in this class someone will steal your spot from you easily." Said Shinso.
Bakugo scoffed and grew impatient about the boy, interrupting him before he could finish.
"So what the hell's your point?" Asked Bakugo boldly interrupted the boy as he looked back with the same emotionless face.
"I'm just letting you know since you faced against villains, I expect that you give it your all, consider this a declaration of war." Said Shinso fearlessly as he walked back into the crowd, leaving behind a class with both shocked and confused thoughts.
Michiru grew tired of the recent turn of events, at this point she was just ready to leave like most of her class until they heard another bold voice shout in the crowd.
"Hey you, I'm Tetsutetsu, also from Class 1-B, we heard you fought some villains and i came to see if that was true!" Yelled Tetsutetsu.
"But all I see are a bunch of brats who think they're better then us!" Yelled Tetsutetsu.
Crap, everyone hates our class now! Yelled Everyone in their minds.
"Talk all you want, it'll just be more embarrassing when your K-Oed." Said Tetsutetsu.
Michiru slapped her forehead, cursing under her breath with Jiro taking notice after seeing now almost all the school hates their class.
While the class continued to stare at the yelling student, Bakugo began to walk away ignoring his taunts.
"Don't you ignore me!" Yelled Tetsutetsu.
"Dude, where are you going?" Asked Kirishima.
"You gotta say something." Said Kirishima.
"Yeah, it's your fault their hating us, Bakugo!" Yelled Will.
Bakugo looked back.
"These people don't matter." Said Bakugo calmly.
Everyone looked confused when he said that.
"The only thing that's important is that i beat them." Said Bakugo.
Bakugo contiuned to leave.
"Hey, i'm coming for you!" Yelled Tetsutetsu.
Kirishima clenched his fist.
"I hate that was such a manly exit." Said Kirishuma with a tear in his eye.
Kaminari was shocked when he said that.
"Your not wrong about that." Said Sato with his finger holding his chin.
"We have to beat them, he wasn't wrong." Said Tokoyami.
"Yeah sure, but this sucks." Said Kaminari.
"He made us everyone's enemy!" Yelled Kaminari.
Midoriya remembered what Bakugo said after the combat training and decided to train so that he could control One for All.
Will arrived at her home so that she can have tidy for her classmates when suddenly she got a headace.
"Better get elixer now while i still have a chance." Said Will as she walked into her room.
She opened a box to reveal on bunch empty glasses.
"No, no, i was sure i had more." Said Will in worry.
She clenched her stomach as though she was in pain and feathers started grow around body.
She lets out a scream which turned into a monstrous growl.
By the time Michiru got home she received a text from Shirou that he was on patrol and he took Kuro with him.
After seeing this Michiru knew had the house to herself until then.
When she entered her room she dropped her bag beside her door, landing herself on the bed without even changing.
She did what she could go back to sleep but after the flashback she had she couldn't, but she was tired now after today.
She groaned in exhaustion, nearly about to fall asleep when her phone started to vibrate beside her.
Turning her head, she grabbed her phone to see it was a phone call from Ashido.
Right after the USJ incident, some of her class exchanged numbers so they could text or call one another.
She recalled giving her contact to the girls, having them share hers with the rest of the guys since she didn't have time.
"Hello?" Asked Michiru tiredly.
"Kagemori you okay,you sound out of it?" Asked Ashido from the other side of the call.
"Yeah, just kinda tired is all but I'm fine." Replied Michiru as she yawned a second after.
"I actually wanted to call and see if you wanted to do something later with some of our classmates." Said Ashido.
"You know since we deserve a break after the U.S.J." Said Ashido.
Michiru got interested in hanging out with her class, sitting up on her bed feeling a bit more awake from her excitement.
"That's actually a good idea Ashido, what did you have in mind?" Asked Michiru as she smiled.
Ashido realized that her friend was pretty interested and started to get into the topic.
"We haven't decided quite yet but so far a few people have confirmed but others said they were busy so all we need to do is meet somewhere." Replied Ashido.
Michiru began to process what Ashido said until an idea came.
"Wait I know what we can do!" Yelled Michiru excitedly.
"Really, what is it?" Asked Ashido grew curious of her friend's idea, Michiru grinned and answered back.
"It's a secret, but I'll say this, get everyone that's coming to this address I'll meet you here!" Yelled Michiru as she typed in an address that was close to her house and shared it with her friend, after sending it Ashido answered back after researching it.
"Wait, this is to a basketball court." Said Ashido.
"Ohhh we can all hang out and play basketball together!" Yelled Ashido with excitement.
"Exactly!" Yelled Michiru, she was barley able to play basketball at all when she was in Anima City.
"Alright I'll let them know and check to see if anyone else wants to come!" Yelled Ashido.
"Okay, see you guys soon!" Yelled Michiru as she hung up the call as she grabbed her wallet and basketball, placing it on her bed, and getting some clothes she could change into for the hangout.
By the time she left the house she had on her red jacket, a black tank top and jean shorts.
Since the court was in walking distance for her it was no trouble, by the time she got there she texted Ashido to let her know she was there.
After getting a reply that a few of their classmates are on their way, Michiru left her jacket and her bag across the court on a bench.
Walking back up to the hoop with the basketball underneath her arm.
She started to dribble the ball and got into shooting position, jumping and curling her hand as she shot the ball forward.
The ball went in the hoop almost perfectly, hitting the wall of the hoop and landing in the ring.
Michiru smiled and walked forward, grabbing the ball and continued to dribble.
Shooting a few more hoops to get herself warmed up.
She decided to run forward dribbling, making a good jump upwards stretching her arm up with the ball, dunking the ball in.
Michiru held onto the hoop for a moment, eventually dropping down to see the ball was rolling away.
Before she could get the ball it had stopped onto someone's foot, looking up to it was Kirishima smiling with his shark like teeth with Ashido right beside him.
"Oh hey, Kirishima, Ashido didn't see you there!" Yelled Michiru as she jogged up and greeted the two people, Kirishima grabbed the ball and gripped it with his two hands while Ashido joyfully smiled.
"I knew we were playing basketball, but I didn't think you were a pro!" Yelled Ashsdo as she was amazed at how Michiru moved and played with the ball earlier.
"Well, I was on a basketball team a while back." Said Michiru, remembering the life she had before she became a Beastman.
"Oh hey that's cool, that'll make this more interesting then." Said Kirishima as he grinned and tossing the ball back to Michiru.
"So who else is coming?" Asked Michiru after noticing only two of her friends had arrived.
"Uraraka, Jiro, Sero, Tokoyami, Yoarashi and Midoriya confirmed." Said Ashido.
"Everyone else wanted to focus on getting ready for the festival." Said Ashido.
"Ah well I don't blame them." Said Kirishima as he nodded while taking off his jacket and starting to stretch his arms.
He waited impatiently, trying to get worked up for basketball while the girls just watched.
The girls giggled for a moment at the boy who was urgent to start, it took only a few more minutes for more of their group to arrive shortly after.
While the group got situated, they chatted for and relaxed, taking the time to breathe the cool air and enjoy their time together.
"I'm so glad we're here hanging out, it's nice to relax." Said Sero as he leaned back on the bench beside Tokoyami and Jiro.
"I agree, it's nice to take some time to enjoy ourselves and reduce our stress." Said Tokoyami as he nodded while crossing his arms.
"Has anyone seen or asked Will to join, she's not answering her phone?" Asked Midoriya.
"Actually now that you mention it, she never replied to my text." Replied Ashido.
"Strange." Said Michiru, both she and Midoriya always did things together, this was not nautral.
"She's probley didn't see it, probley nervous about the sports festival." Said Sero.
"I'm kinda nervous about it too but we're gonna do great I'm sure!" Yelled Uraraka.
The three girls nodding confidently but thrilled for the festival.
Jiro was in between the girls, smiling but rolling her eyes about the two while she listened to music with one of her headphones.
"That's the spirit, I'm wondering who's gonna go see the festival." Said Yoarashi, even the group grew curious about the possible people that could watch.
"Who knows, some Pro Heroes are for sure watching maybe even Silver Wolf, right Kagemori?" Asked Kirishima to Michiru who was talking to Ashido about a plan for their game until she looked over.
She was about to respond when she realized something, taking a second to think when it came to her.
Shirou never mentioned to her that he would go to the festival, would he though she thought.
"I'm not sure actually, he never talked to me about it but." Said Michiru as she had a sign of doubt on her face, she was hoping he could watch but he wasn't one for activities such as that but still.
Midoriya was stretching when he noticed her look, she seemed doubtful but he called out and was about to speak when Yoarashi responded.
"I'm sure he will!" Yelled Yoarashi.
"He saw us face off against villains so he must've seen the potential that we have!" Yelled Kirishima.
Kirishima smiled, hardening his arm to flex and spoke after.
"How come you always sound so manly?" Asked Ashido jokingly, Michiru laughed beside her and Kirishima slightly blush.
"Now, we ready to get started or what?" Asked Ashido as she was starting to get a bit impatient like Kirishima was but she was excited, the group nodded or answered back while Midoriya rushed back over after stretching.
"Okay then, since Michiru was the one that suggested this hangout I figured she'd get to pick out what we do here!" Yelled Ashido as she issued her friend to come forward.
Michiru approached the group with the ball in her hands smiling when she turned back into a human.
"I figured we would play some old fashion basketball, two teams of four." Said Michiru as she began to explain.
"The games simple, you have to shoot the ball into the hoop." Said Michiru.
"You can pass the ball to your teammates and dribble anywhere on the court but no quirks of course." Said Michiru as she pointed out the last part, getting a couple sighs from the group who hoped to use their quirks to win.
After Michiru finished going over the rules, Ashido and Michiru were team captains, deciding from Rock Paper Scissors on who would pick first and so one.
After a couple minutes of picking their teammates, Michiru's team had been composed of Midoriya, Tokoyami, and Uraraka while Ashido's had Yoarashi, Sero and Kirishima, with Jiro acting as the referee.
The two teams faced one another on each side of the court, with eagerness to start and excitement flowing within their bodies.
Michiru and Ashido stared face to face at the center, with the ball at the center.
"Ready to lose?" Asked Michiru as she gave a grinned look on her face.
"Oh It's on!" Yelled Ashido as she grinned back, tossing the ball upwards as the two jumped for it.
Michiru reached the ball, serving it forward before Ashido could as Kirishima grabbed the ball.
Kirishima dribbled the ball forward with his hands, only to be met by Uraraka who tried to block her from moving forward.
Yoarashi called for a pass as he ran several feet beside her, getting the ball passed to him by Kirishima as he tried to rush forward.
He didn't realize until he looked forward that Midoriya was right in front of him, snatching the ball before his eyes as he tried to turn around after him.
Kirishima grinned as he got closer to the hoop until seeing Uraraka rush forward before he could shoot, Uraraka passed the ball to Tokoyami who was outside the circle of the hoop.
He decided to take the shot while he was still open, shooting forward as the ball flew across the air.
Had the ball been thrown with a bit more power it would've been made in, the ball ended up hitting the outer ring of the hoop as it bounced backwards after hitting against it.
Tokoyami scoffed at the mistake with hopes of redemption, but focused on the game still.
The ball fell downwards, only bouncing once until Sero got to it, he turned to see Kirishima on the other side of the court issuing him to throw it.
Sero smiled and threw it to Kirishima, but it didn't make it to him but to Midoriya who intercepted the ball before it got to Kirishima.
Despite Midoriya's best efforts to keep the ball away, Ashido and Yoarashi rushed him, making him panic as he felt slightly surrounded.
Michiru noticed this and called to him, receiving the ball as she sprinted forward dribbling for the open hoop.
Sero began to block her shot when she did a fake turn to the right, with Sero taking the bait she dribbled the ball between her open legs onto her other hand as she went to the left.
She found her opening shot and went for it, shooting forward and scoring a point for her team and zip for Ashido's.
"Yeah!" Yelled Michiru.
Uraraka and Midoriya cheered for Michiru's first point scored, getting congratulations from her teammates while the other team seemed a bit down but didn't give up.
After that her team ended up scoring two more points.
But despite that the game went on, with Sero and Yoarashi catching an idea to change things up.
The next match continued, this time Ashido's team received the ball with her dribbling in front of Kirishima.
Making a hesitation move, he dashed forward until Yoarashi called for a pass.
He received the ball but instead of shooting he tossed the ball upward, everyone noticed it started to wrap in tape with Sero reeling it in like a fish on a hook and grabbing ahold of it, shooting more tape towards the hoop to fly forward.
Michiru or Tokoyami couldn't reach Sero until he had already scored, grinning and giving a high five towards Yoarashi.
"Hey what's the deal?" Asked Michiru tiredly, with some of her team giving off unhappy looks at Ashido's team.
"Hey come on, where's the fun playing fair?" Asked Sero as he joked whole giving Yoarashi a high five, making Michiru think to herself and looking at her group nodding at them.
Okay then, wanna play that game? Asked Michiru.
Fine by me! Yelled Michiru as she grew more competitive with their stubbornness, deciding to fight fire with fire as she turned back into her Beastman form.
The next match Yoarashi and Tokoyami were in the center circle, Tokoyami had called Dark Shadow to grab the ball before Yoarashi could.
Dark Shadow smiled while he stretched himself over Yoarashi, throwing the ball to Midoriya who was open as he dribbled forward.
The boy started to get used to the game, starting to enjoy the thrill and competition.
He was met with Kirishima, trying to swipe for the ball.
Midoriya shot the ball forward, hitting the ball in before Sero could grab it.
Michiru's team cheered when they were met with a set of unhappy faces from the other team.
"Hey what gives!" Yelled Ashido to Michiru's team, Michiru gave a familiar grin she had to tease her opponents from baseball.
"Come on, where's the fun in playing fair?" Asked Michiru.
Ashido had to admit, her team got karma but it felt like the rules were out and it was quirk basketball for the win.
"Okay then, you're so on!" Yelled Ashido.
After sometime the match had finally finished, ending with 10-8 for Michiru and her team against Ashido's.
Both sides were tired and sweaty, taking a minute to breath from the competitive match that worked them up so much and making them use their quirks.
Despite their rivalry in the game, it was fun for all of them.
Taking the time to not worry about anything else but hanging out together.
The two teams congratulated each other after the match, sitting out and talking to one another after how they did.
"I don't know how it's been but I actually feel a bit rusty." Said Michiru as she admitted to the two girls who looked over with surprised looks.
"How, you were literally on your feet for most of the time!" Yelled Ashido with disbelief towards Michiru's comment.
"When I'm in my animal form, I feel lighter compared to when I'm normal." Replied Michiru.
"I feel like I'm wearing heels if I'm not." Said Michiru as she added, receiving oh's from the two.
"I guess that's why you are always in your animal form." Said Uraraka, receiving a silent nod from Michiru.
Midoriya went over to them.
"Hey guys, i'm really worried about Will, she not responding to my texts or my calls." Said Midoriya.
"Yeah, it's not like her to just skip out on this, even if it is the Sports Festival." Said Uraraka in agreement.
"Then why don't we check up on her, you said you knew where she lived, Midoriya?" Asked Michiru.
"Yeah, follow me." Said Midoriya.
He started leading the group to Will's house.
"She made this?" Asked Jiro in shock.
"Yeah, with her elemental powers, she was able to make her own house and her parents are the ones who usually pay the bills, or at least she told me they do." Said Midoriya
Since learning that Will came from another world, he's not so sure if she was telling the truth about that part.
Midoriya was about to knock when he realized something.
"It's already unlocked." Said Midoriya.
They went inside and saw the entire place was dark.
"Why is it so dark in here?" Asked Michiru.
"Revelry In The Dark." Muttered Tokoyami.
"Will, are you here?" Asked Midoriya.
Suddenly they heard a crash sound from inside the bedroom and went to investigate.
They gasped when they saw something clawing at the door with claws of it's own.
It resembles a big owl monster, with black-colored eyes and long pointed ears. With a bunch of grey hair grows from the ears. The body is covered in dark teal fur, and it has two black-grey wings. The legs are black color and the feet look more like a bird's feet. It doesn't wear clothing.
The beast herself, looked at the group before growling at them and took off in another direction through the window.
"W-What was that?" Asked Uraraka in fear.
"I don't actually know." Said Midoriya.
They heard howling and went outside to see the beast right on top of the roof before jumping back into Will's Apartment through a window.
"This is actually terrifying." Said Kirishima as he rubbed his arms.
"It might have done something to Will." Said Midoriya as he walked towards the house when Michiru pulled him back.
"You wanna go back in there, with that beast?!" Yelled Michiru in shock.
"Will could be in danger, and i'm not waiting around just so she can become monster chow!" Yelled Midoriya as he forced Michiru to let go of him and ran back inside.
The rest of the group groaned and followed him inside.
They were both walking very slowly as they made there way back to Will's bedroom.
Everyone gasped in shock when they saw her bed had slash marks in them.
"Oh no, Will." Said Ashido with tears in her eyes.
They keep hearing noises coming from all over the house, but they're not sure from where though.
Midoriya noticed something in a cabinet and opened it up.
It was a vial with an orange liquid in it.
There was a label that said:
An Elixir a day keeps the curse at bay.
Curse, what curse? Asked Midoriya in his mind in confusion.
A claw came up near Midoriya's face which made him scream.
Everyone got a closer look at the creature's face, and noticed a signature red bobcut.
"Vandom?!" Yelled Yoarashi in shock.
Will crawled closer to the group and raised it's claws to attack them.
Michiru's body briefly glowed blue in order to combat her but they saw that the glow effected her eyes and blinded her as Will covered her eyes.
They took this opportunity and ran before she ran after them.
She was looking around for them and barley missed them as she went forward.
Midoriya threw a rock at another direction to get her away from them as she ran towards the sound.
"Okay, what. the. actual. hell?" Asked Jiro in fright like she never felt before.
"What happened to Will, how did she become that thing?" Asked Uraraka.
"Can she even go back to normal?" Asked Kirishima.
"I think she can." Said Midoriya.
Everyone else looked at him as he was carrying the Elixir in his hands.
"I just had a thought, the lable said that this thing could keep a cure away, and if Will is cursed then maybe this is a cure." Said Midoriya.
"What makes you think it'll work?" Asked Michiru.
"What other plan do we have?" Asked Midoriya.
"If i recall correctly, usually when creatures have black eyes, they usually means they're sensitive to anything light." Said Tokoyami.
"Like that weird way Kagemori was glowing." Said Sero.
"But i can't control it, i'm not even sure how it works." Replied Michiru.
"What about the light from our phones, that should be enough to weaken her for us to get drink into her." Said Ashido.
"Good idea." Said Michiru with a smile.
They heard Will screeched and got their phones out.
They waited until Will was coming closer and closer.
"Now!" Yelled Midoriya.
Everyone got their phones and blinded Will long enough for her to drink the Elixir.
All in a flash, Will suddenly woke up and found herself on her bed.
"Wha-What happened?" Asked Will as she looked around.
She held her head.
"Ah, it feels like i have a headache." Said Will.
"We found it in a cabinet in your room." Said Midoriya as he made himself and the others aware to Will that they were here.
Will looked down at the ground.
"I take it you saw it." Said Will.
"If you mean that bird demon form of yours then yeah, we did." Said Jiro.
"What happened anyway?" Asked Kirishima.
"This was a secret that not even my friends from america know." Replied Will as she began to explain.
"Back when i was 10 years old, i was cursed, i don't know why or who cursed me, all i do know is that if i don't take my Elixir on a daily basis." Said Will as she held up the now empty vial.
"Then i become that thing you saw." Said Will.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Asked Michiru.
Will looked away.
"No one ever wants a monster for a friend or an ally, but if you have the right tools and equipment, then you can find a way to make it manageable." Said Will in a sad tone.
"So are you okay now?" Asked Tokoyami.
"Don't worry, it's all under control and as long as no one steals my Elixir or cuts me off from it, then i'm fine." Said Will with a shrug.
Will noticed the state of her house.
"Wow, i have a lot work to do now." Said Will as she began to stand up.
Michiru and Midoriya placed her back down.
"You rest, we'll take care of it." Said Michiru.
"Do you think you can tell us the story of how got here, tomorrow?" Asked Yoarashi, feeling like now is not the right time to ask of her past.
"And i think you should share that curse, with the rest of the school, so they can help you." Said Sero.
"I promise, i will, with the entire class." Said Will.
They made a smile before the group went off to repair Will's house.
Will laid down her bed and closed her eyes, but she it wasn't a dream she was hanging, but a nightmare.
The Heart of Kandrakar started glowing the group found themselves in a grey mist.
They looked around to see Will looking at a door.
"No, not this memory again." Said Will with dread.
The door opened to reveal a black blurry figure standing at the door but no one can tell who it was.
"You, your the one who cursed me, aren't you?!" Yelled Will in anger.
This made the group drop their jaws.
"Who are you, who are you?!" Yelled Will before the nightmare ended.
Will woke up with sweat on her face as she was panting hard.
Everyone looked at Will in sadness, they want to help her with this curse, but what can they do?
A/N: Like what i did to this chapter, as i stated i will show you Will's greatest secret that not even her W.I.T.C.H. friends know about.
I replaced that Pony girl with Shinso, since he'd make a better character then her, if your worried, don't worry, the Joint Hero Battle will still happen, just with different characters, who won't be shown until season 3.
