Chapter 23: Strategy, Strategy, Strategy & Cavalry Battle Finale
Michiru & Midoriya
Shirou and Hound Dog were watching from one of the hallway tv's that captured Midnight's live announcement of the cavalry battle.
Shirou calmly watched the screen, despite being taken by surprise by what Midnight said moments before about the ten million points.
He understood where the game was going, and of course he expected a twist beforehand but he didn't think after Michiru got first place she would be a target for other students.
"Raaaawrrrr, they're gonna go after Kagemori that's for sure." Said Hound Dog.
"Agh, I hate it when the rules are unfair!" Yelled Hound Dog as ge almost couldn't speak clearly, even growling and almost snarling in between his human speech, taking a few audience members walking around them by surprise.
Does he always get like this when he's angry? Asked the people around them.
The only person that could actually understand Hound Dog was Shirou under that snarling and barking, while being rather confused about the teacher's behavior.
But Hound Dog was too annoyed about how the rules sometimes played out for the Sports Festival events.
He knew they were trying to keep things competitive but even so it usually put the top students at a disadvantage.
"Now she will understand the burden of standing out." Said Shirou as he sighed, despite being correct about what he believed would occur for Michiru if she had been in the lead it brought him no comfort.
Michiru's stubbornness and confidence in herself was often how she got far, but it would cause her to hit more obstacles along the way such as this.
"This year's litter is our best but most hardest group to teach from what I can tell." Said Hound Dog as he started to calm down, actually taking a second in between to breathe while Shirou looked over.
Shirou took notice of Hound Dog trying to relax due to his difficulty controlling his temper.
"Nothing we can't handle as heroes right?" Asked Shirou, trying to ease the heroes tension with reassurance, even taking the risk of placing his hand on the ancy Dog hero's shoulder like a mouse trying to not trigger a trap.
He saw Shirou in his Beastman form, but it wasn't a sign of dominance or challenge but it was comfort.
Hound Dog stopped for a second to close his eyes, sighing as he finally seemed to be calming down, Shirou turned his head in confusion until a brief moment later Hound Dog pulled Shirou in by the shoulder.
Shirou got startled for a second, being thrown into what seemed to be a firm side hug.
"Looks like we're gonna get along after all, I like you, it's nice to see another guy like me!" Yelled Hound Dog with glee.
He was holding Shirou tight enough but not to crush him, even howling for some odd reason.
Shirou always knew every beast man species had their own thing as a whole, dogs were similar to how wolves would act but they were more unpredictable, perhaps this was just a part of his quirk he thought.
But at least he seemed to be leaving a good impression on the faculty, sighing in relief.
Things went quiet when Shirou felt the setting change for a moment, hearing a small projectile getting thrown in his direction. His eyes widened, breaking free of Hound Dog's grip when he moved forward reaching his arm out to grab what was a fast moving ball.
The force of the ball was strong at impact, but still caught it easily.
Shirou first inspected the ball of what seemed to be All Might themed, with an Paw Print Logo printed onto it.
The two heroes tensed up, unsure of who threw it and why when they looked at the direction it came from, and saw the thrower.
"Oh, thought i had you that time, Shirou." Said a woman's voice from a distance, grinning when Hound Dog yelled back.
"What the hell was that for!" Yelled Hound Dog as he started moving ahead of Shirou when he was stopped by Shirou's arm.
"Easy Hound Dog, she meant no harm." Said Shirou.
He looked at the woman.
She has long white hair with blue eyes and a brown clothing with silk at the top and has a pendant in the shape of the moon.
Shirou gave off a soft smile, one anyone rarely sees, even the Mayor or Michiru.
"Hello, Luna." Said Shirou.
Mt. Lady, Kamui Woods and Death Arms were in the break room.
"The Sports Festival isn't really about seeing how prepared they are at being heroes." Said Death Arms suddenly.
"It's more about simulating the competition when they go Pro." Said Death Arms as he breathed in a cigarette.
"Huh, what are you talking about?" Asked Mt. Lady in confusion.
"We've both know this country's overrun with Agencies right now, if you want to put food on the table, you've got to be willing put out on top." Replid Death Arms.
Mt. Lady wiped away the smoke in disgust.
"That was a point of the first round." Said Death Arms.
"That's such a sad way of looking at our jobs." Said Mt. Lady.
Kamui Woods glared at her.
"Seriously?!" Yelled Kamui Woods in disbelief.
"You've never had a problem stealing the spotlight." Said Kamui Woods as he never forgave her for that.
Death Arms breathed in another smoke.
"But on the other hand, even if your battling each other for popularity, there are plenty of cases where you have to work together." Said Death Arms.
"Huh, your right, it's just like this Calvary Battle, every point you score is not just for you but for your teammates as well." Said Mt. Lady as she was getting what he was saying.
"Plus you have to think about how Quirks work together, and who your compatible with." Said Mt. Lady.
"It's kind of like coordinating with your sidekick or Quirk Training with other agencies." Said Kamui Woods as he attemped to drink a bottle water but forget he had a mask on.
"I'm sure at least some of the kids are thinking about all this." Said Death Arms.
"If they become Pros, it'll be there way of life." Said Death Arms.
"They still got a long road ahead of them." Said Mt. Lady.
It didn't take long for some people to try and get into groups, while others like Midoriya and Tokoyami waited aside trying to plan a strategy before asking anyone.
However, Bakugo and Todoroki were already getting swarmed by their classmates trying to team up with them, their experience and powerful quirks can make them a good person to have on their teams.
But the problem was Bakugo was so self centered he couldn't even remember his classmates own names or quirks.
But while Bakugo was already at a start on picking his team, with Kirishima stepping in to be his leading horse prepared to take on any challenge.
Bakugo liked his fighting spirit, especially since they both wanted to go for the million points.
Bakugo grinned almost maniacally, thinking to himself about one of the first place girls that had beat him constantly.
I'm coming for you raccoon and for your ten million points! Yelled Bakugo.
Todoroki on the other hand had a different approach, he planned on getting the more experienced people on his team, people smart enough to strategize and use their quirks efficiently, and he knew who to go for first.
He needed all the help he could get to steal the ten million points, but what he wanted to do more than anything was to win it all with half his power.
Because he knew if he could beat everyone even Will just with his right side only he would've kept to his promise he made so many years ago against his old man.
I'll win this with only my right side, there's nothing that will make me use that bastard's power. Thought Todoroki.
He decided to make Will his target, as it seemed she was weaker in comparison to the two, even compared to their combat training.
Even though she got first place, Michiru was almost ignored by everyone around her, even her own classmates, being left out awkwardly as no one would acknowledge her.
This is freaking ridiculous how can I get a team when everyone's so scared to join me?, stupid ten million points. Thought Michiru as she was still speechless about the rules, because of her band being worth ten million points people were too scared to join her because they would be targets with her.
The whole strategy of the game would be to focus on stealing other people's headbands, especially the ones with higher points.
Which meant in her case, it was too much of a risk for anyone to be on her team if it meant possibly losing.
Michiru looked around, trying to find anyone that she knew who possibly didn't have a team when she noticed Jiro and Ojiro talking.
She felt a bit of relief hoping she could join them as she jogged over.
But was met with awkward looks from them as well.
"Hey I don't suppose you guys have any room for one more?" Asked Michiru nervously, Ojiro shifted his eyes and walked the other way leaving Jiro no choice but to give the bad news to the stressed Tanuki.
"Sorry Kagemori, we're already found team to set up, sorry." Said Jiro as she twisted her long earlobes, leaving Michiru while the Tanuki's heart sank.
She could almost tell they didn't want her on their team, it wasn't personal but she understood why.
Michiru continued to get nervous, she looked around seeing no one come to her or even look at her, she found it almost impossible to find her own team.
There's gotta be someone who I could possibly join. Thought Michiru as she looked around, thinking to herself about Ashido when she looked to see them over by Bakugo.
She even tried looking for Yaoyarozu and Koda but they seemed to be already grouped up with other people.
Even if she had no choice she thought about asking people Class 1-B but there wasn't even a guarantee after some of the ongoing tensions between them.
There has to be someone, anyone. Thought Michiru in desperation.
She felt someone touch her shoulder from behind, her heart almost skipped a beat after getting surprised from behind, turning to see to her surprise it was Midoriya and Uraraka.
"Midoriya, Uraraka, what are you guys doing here?" Asked Michiru in confusion.
Midoriya had a determined look on his face, the same thing went for Uraraka when they answered Michiru's question.
"We want you on our team Kagemori, we have a plan." Said Midoriya.
"Wait really, but aren't you guys worried that we'll get targeted if we're together?" Asked Michiru in surprise.
"Don't worry Kagemori, we'll win this together!" Yelled Uraraka threw her arms in the air, Michiru couldn't help but sigh in relief.
Oh thank god they have no idea how worried I was without a team. Thought Michiru as she agreed with no hesitation, with the trio huddling up listening to Midoriya's plan.
Apparently moments before Uraraka approached Midoriya first wanting to join, Midoriya seemed rather doubtful of himself and Uraraka's choice but she was confident in him.
It went on to a moment they had which was touching, eventually getting themselves back in focus and here they were with Michiru.
"But wait Midoriya, why aren't you on Vandom's team?" Asked Michiru in confusion as both she and Midoriya were best friends.
"She offered but i declined, i wanted to prove that i can be strong on my own, without her protecting me all the time." Replied Midoriya.
"Now, the plan is simple, but we're gonna need four people." Said Midoriya as he began to explain.
"With Uraraka's quirk to control our weight we can be much lighter and easier to maneuver plus with Michiru's abilities she can help with speed as our main horse in terms of her cheetah and rabbit legs." Said Midoriya.
"We'll need to find another strong rider to cover defense if we ever get stuck." Said Midoriya.
His plan was so far good, but she realized a certain ability he forgot some time ago that she believed would change the plan.
Deciding to say something after Midoriya pondered about the last detail he couldn't finish.
"Wait shouldn't I be on top wearing the headband though?" Asked Michiru.
Midoriya and Uraraka got curious to what Michiru meant.
"Wait how so?" Asked Uraraka.
"Think about it, I can use my wings and since your quirk can make things float I can fly us easily in the air so long as you guys hold on tight so you won't float away!" Replied Michiru as she pointed out, waving her arms in an up and down motion to demonstrate.
Urakaka smiled and agreed with the idea, as well as Midoriya after some good thinking.
"Your right Kagemori, we'll be able to literally fly out of any situation without losing the headband which can give us a chance to move easier to clearer areas." Said Midoriya.
"Since I can't fully control my quirk, it's best that I'm one of the horses, so the only thing is we still need a good defense." Said Midoriya as he went back to his original question, holding his chin while the two girls stood there.
"We could try Kirishima, his hardening quirk could be good!" Yelled Uraraka.
"We can't, I saw him talking to Bakugo so we can assume they're a team, but what about, hey I think I got it!" Yelled Michiru as she snapped her fingers when Midoriya came to a realization as well, both now on the same page.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking Midoriya?" Asked Michiru, Midoriya nodded.
"I think so, let's just hope he isn't on a team yet." Replied Midoriya.
Uraraka got a bit confused, thinking to herself while they walked in a specific direction past other students.
Wait who are they talking about? Asked Uraraka in thought.
Please I just hope he hasn't been picked yet. Thought Michiru to herself, both her and Midoriya saw him with his back turned.
He seemed to not be with anyone else or talking to anyone, which gave Midoriya a sense of hope when he placed his hand on his classmate's shoulder, getting his attention.
Earlier
Students from across both Class 1-A and Class 1-B began entering the stadium, following further behind the top four after witnessing the recent events in the final obstacle.
Tokoyami was one of the top ten who made it into the stadium, taking eighth place luckily.
When he finally entered the stadium, just after exiting the darkness of the hallway he ran through, he felt both relieved and almost defeated.
He placed his arms above his head, breathing heavily as sweat slid down his upper neck and chest, drenching his clothes.
He was still successful, making it to the next round but he felt beaten still, looking ahead to see Michiru rubbing her arm nervously as she talked with Uraraka, who came in a couple minutes after he did himself.
She received first place, as did Vandom, that's good for her. Thought Tokoyami with hesitation on the last sentance.
Even though he wanted to show respect for Michiru and congratulate her, he felt conflicted, tightening his grip around the back of his head in frustration.
But, she beat me again, but why do I feel so frustrated? Asked Tokoyami in turmoil.
Since they've met, she continued to be far ahead of him, in some way or form.
First she received recommendations, the quirk test, combat training, and now the sports festival.
He wasn't sure if it was jealousy he felt at that moment due to his frustrations, but he didn't know what to do.
I need to focus, I can deal with this after. Thought Tokoyami.
I mustn't let my emotions distract me. Thought Tokoyami.
He kept his composure and remained calm as usual, no one would even tell what he was thinking just from how he looked.
"Join us." Said Midoriya.
But even as he felt his troubles go away, he was offered to join Michiru's team, and took it without question.
Just as the Cavalry battle continued he began to doubt himself, was he dependent on Michiru's help to the point he relied on her help he thought.
How would he be able to prove himself against his classmates, or her if he wasn't strong.
He was still competing to win, just as his other classmates were, but for now him and Michiru are teammates.
Once the Cavalry battle is finished, they would only be competitors, nothing more.
"So does everyone know the plan?" Asked Monoma to some of his classmates, even though they would be competing against one another they had a common rival, Class 1-A.
His classmates nodded, before he continued.
"Those jerks think they're so much better just because they fought some villains, even so it doesn't mean we aren't capable of doing the same thing." Said Monama.
"Even though we're still competing against one another let's work together until all of their points are taken." Said Monama.
"So let's show what we can do to the audience, we'll show them Class 1-B can be just as capable to win." Said Monoma with a cocky tone, since everyone was drooling over Class 1-A it only made their class more determined to beat them.
"Yeah, let's get these wannabes!" Yelled Tetsutetsu.
When the timer began to ring, Midnight declared it was time. With about 12 teams across the large square shaped arena, some with interesting quirk combinations that the crowd will soon find out more about as the match would soon begin.
"IT'S TIME FOR THE CAVALRY BATTLE TO BEGIN, LET ME HEAR YOU SCREAM!" Yelled Present Mic , with the crowd roaring back while Aizawa woke up cranky after dozing off shortly before the crowds would be his alarm clock.
By this time Shirou and Hound Dog arrived back, just in time to see the teams that were formed ready themselves to face off.
Meanwhile back down at the arena, most of the teams had their eyes set on Michiru's team, prepared to charge.
Michiru tied her headband onto her forehead, she was starting to get butterflies in her stomach about the Cavalry battle. But she felt ready, she was prepared to face her own classmates.
"Alright guys, this is gonna be tough but we can do this!" Yelled Michiru.
"Ready Uraraka?" Asked Michiru.
Uraraka who held her left leg, using her quirk on her team except for Michiru to keep them weighted on the ground.
"Right!" Yelled Uraraka in response.
"Midoriya?" Asked Michiru.
"Yes, let's do this!" Yelled Midoriya in response.
He was holding onto her right leg from the side just across from Uraraka.
"Tokoyami?" Asked Michiru.
"I am prepared." Said Tokoyami calmly from the front, facing forward as Dark Shadow came from Tokoyami's stomach roaring with his shadowy claws ready to defend.
"On my mark!" Yelled Midnight , with the timer set to 3 and counting backwards.
"3!"
"Let's get them." Said Bakugo to his team, determined for the ten million points.
"2!"
"Their ours." Said Todoroki to his team, also ready to charge for Will's points.
"1!"
"Good luck Michiru." Said Shirou quietly from the teachers' seat, just beside All Might and the rest of the staff.
You too Midoriya. Thought All Might to himself.
The timer finally rang across the stadium, with Midnight swinging her whip downwards.
"Begin!" Yelled Midnight.
The moment Midnight finished every single team on the stadium charged in Michiru's direction, even her own classmates couldn't pass up the ten million points she possessed.
"It's basically a battle for the ten million!" Yelled Tetsutetsu, realizing everyone was already after Michiru's group.
"Get them before anyone else!" Yelled Bakugo.
"Those points are ours!" Yelled Ashido.
"Haha, I'm taking that headband Kagemori!" Yelled Hatsume as she cackled.
Michiru clenched her teeth, not surprised but rather disappointed that everyone was targeting her team.
"Crap looks like I was right." Said Midoriya nervously, realizing his theory was correct about what could go down.
"They aren't giving us a chance, such is the fate of the pursued." Said Tokoyami as he was calmly staring back at the teams.
"This is it." Said Uraraka as she was started to get goosebumps, hoping their plan would work once Michiru gave the signal.
"Make your choice Kagemori, It's now or never." Said Tokoyami as Dark Shadow became ancy, almost feeling cornered seeing the teams getting closer.
Michiru took a deep breath as she gave her first order, confidently telling her group.
"That's easy Tokoyami, let's move!" Yelled Michiru, as Tetsutetsu yelled back.
"I don't think so, Honenuki now!" Yelled Tetsutetsu.
As soon as Honenuki touched the ground with his foot, creating a softened path that moved towards Michiru's group.
The entire ground around them was like jelly, as they started to sink into it, with their ankles already at the grounds level.
"I can't get out!" Yelled Uraraka.
"Crap we're sinking, I can't move!" Yelled Midoriya as he looked forward realizing the boy with the exposed jaw was using his quirk on them, which meant they needed to get out now if they didn't want to sink.
"Hang on guys, I'm getting us out of here!" Yelled Michiru, the group gripped onto Michiru as she focused her wings to grow at an even bigger scale than her usual wingspan.
The size of her wings took her group by surprise, as well as the others as she flapped her wings as hard and fast as possible.
Because of this, they started to get themselves out of the ground before they could sink anymore into the ground, finally free as Michiru flew themselves into the air and above the surrounding groups.
"What the hell they flew, after them!" Yelled Tetsutetsu angrily, being taken by surprise as a couple groups turned back after them.
"Jiro your earphone jacks!" Yelled Sato.
"I know!" Yelled Jiro, utilizing her earlobes to stretch towards the flying group to attack with her earphone jacks.
But by doing so, she didn't realize Tokoyami was watching when he ordered Dark Shadow to strike her upcoming attack back.
"Damn bird!" Yelled Jiro annoyingly towards Dark Shadow.
Michiru smiled when she looked back, seeing her team's defense was working well so far thanks to Tokoyami.
"Good work dark shadow, make sure you continue to keep watch of our blind spots." Said Tokoyami to Dark Shadow, receiving a reply back just before the shadowy figure kept watch of their surroundings.
"Wow that is seriously cool, Dark Shadow was perfect for this!" Yelled Midoriya.
"He's right Tokoyami, Dark Shadow is perfect for defense on all sides!" Yelled Michiru in amazement.
"You both are amazing!" Yelled Michiru as she complimented Tokoyami, smiling at him while she continued to fly them easily midair thanks to Uraraka floating them all except for Michiru and her.
Tokoyami's cheeks flushed light red, looking forward to keep his small blushes less noticeable when he answered back to his friend.
"You are the one that chose me." Said Tokoyami simply.
"Get ready we're landing!" Yelled Michiru, guiding her team lower to the ground with her wings.
By the time they landed they had made some distance away from several groups, giving them a chance to move.
"You're doing great Uraraka, your quirk definitely makes flying much easier carrying you guys!" Yelled Michiru.
Uraraka smiled feeling good about her teamwork with the group.
"This was a great idea Michiru, I don't know where we could be if we didn't have you flying!" Yelled Midoriya.
His compliment made Uraraka a bit jealous, thinking to herself as she puffed her cheeks.
Hey I'm floating us too Midoriya, not like we all aren't contributing. Thought Uraraka.
Even though Midoriya couldn't use his quirk much, the best thing he could do was watch their backs and coordinate.
But he made sure to his teammates that he wouldn't use his quirk unless he had no choice.
The team continued to run the other way from the other teams when they were met with Shoji running towards them head on, but they weren't sure who he was underneath the umbrella-like cover he created using his multiple arms.
"Crap its Shoji, wait is he by himself?" Asked Midoriya as he wondered.
"Doesn't matter, he's heading towards us and we keep moving!" Yelled Michiru, before they could react, a long tongue and metal claw with a line shot out from Shoji's covered back towards Michiru's headband.
Michiru luckily dodged the upcoming attacks to the side, focused on avoiding the attacks when Midoriya recognized that the long tongue belonged to Asui, knowing that there wasn't anyone else in the class that could do that.
"Wait, watch out that's Asui's tongue!" Yelled Midoriya.
The group, starting to quickly recover after the surprise attack.
"I told you to call me Tsu." Said Asui from underneath Shoji's cover as the metal claw retracted back as well as Asui's tongue, they could've sworn that they heard a maniacal laugh come from within, eventually revealing Mei Hatsume when she poked her head out.
"Hahaha, looks like baby number 12 works!" Yelled Hatsume.
"Now do me a favor Tanuki girl and hold still so I can snake your headband!" Yelled Hatsume as she laughed joyfully, going back into the darkness as Asui's tongue and Hatsumes metal claw began to shoot out again.
Michiru was forced to move side to side, trying to avoid the ongoing attacks when she heard Tetsutetsu's team finally approaching them again.
She turned her head, widening her eyes now knowing their getting sandwiched on both sides, leaving them no choice but to fly away.
"Kagemori we need breathing room, if another group arrives then we'll never make it out like this!" Yelled Tokoyami.
"Shit, hang on guys I'm gonna get us out of here!" Yelled Michiru.
"Tokoyami cover us!" Yelled Michiru.
Tokoyami gave a nod as Dark Shadow fought back Shoji's attacks giving Michiru the time she needed to morph her large wings again.
Then flapping her wings as hard as possible, shooting them up in the air before Tetsutetsu's team could trap them again.
Everywhere they were teams were at a free for all for their points, but since they've moved it's bought them time, hopefully enough until the time runs out.
Michiru started to breathe heavily, a bit tired and frustrated about the ongoing attacks but kept her mind on the game.
"That was too close." Said Uraraka, trying not to look down because of how high they were from the ground.
But their troubles were far from over when they started to hear explosions from below, Midoriya looked down recognizing a familiar but angry classmate.
"Its Katchan!" Yelled Midoriya.
Michiru turned her head back when Midoriya realized who was in the air, hearing Bakugo yelling as he blasted himself further up to them.
"Don't think for a second that you'll ever be safe, die!" Yelled Bakugo as he got up to Michiru's eye level, aiming his hand directly at her before she could even react.
Tokoyami realized what could've happened next, he couldn't let Bakugo get away with it as he did back from the obstacle race.
Dark Shadow took Bakugo's blast head on after getting in front of Michiru at the last second.
The crowd continued to cheer on, while Present Mic was surprised to see Bakugo make such a speechless move.
"What the hell is that thing?" Asked Bakugo in wonder what the dark bird looking entity was as tape wrapped around him, pulling him back to his team thanks to Sero.
"Nice catch!" Yelled Kirishima.
Sero was using his quirk, adjusting their leader back up on top of them.
"WAIT WAS THAT EVEN ALLOWED?" Asked Present Mic in shock.
"Bakugo didn't touch the group so yes it is allowed!" Replied Midnight as she gave a thumbs up, luckily making Bakugo smile knowing he could do what he planned now in order to win.
Michiru landed once more, flapping her wings lightly but frequently before they touched the ground to keep control.
By the time her team started to run she couldn't help but thank her teammate for the save.
"Thank you Tokoyami, I didn't see Bakugo coming a second time and I almost blew it." Said Michiru as she started to get a bit sentimental, feeling bad for not expecting Bakugo a second time and had almost lost because of it.
But Tokoyami shot it down with reassurance towards his teammate while keeping his sight forward.
"It's not your fault Kagemori, that's why we must look out for each other in this as a team if we are to get through this." Said Tokoyami.
"You watched my back before at combat training, it's time I did the same now." Said Tokoyami.
Tokoyami's words felt comforting for Michiru, she was surprised that he even still recalled that.
But she guessed now that they were even, but of course who needed to keep count she thought.
Midoriya and Uraraka watched what had transpired, they thought it was touching of what Tokoyami said but it was surprising coming from a quiet person like him.
But they would need to worry about topics such as that later, for the match was still far from over.
Meanwhile inside the stadium, Shirou watched the match continue in person but was shortly interrupted by Present Mics announcement in between.
"OK FOLKS LOOKS LIKE IT'S ABOUT TIME TO SEE HOW OUR CONTESTANTS ARE DOING DOWN THERE. HOW ABOUT WE PULL OUT THE SCORE BOARD!" Yelled Present Mic.
Once a couple tv screens pulled up the scores, most of the audiences gasped, completely shocked at what they were seeing.
Even Shirou and All Might were surprised, Present Mic had to stop and reread the scores to make sure he was even seeing it correctly.
"WAIT A MINUTE, MOST OF CLASS 1-A ISN'T DOING WELL AT ALL THEY'VE LOST THEIR POINTS, EVEN BAKUGO'S TEAM IS LOSING!" Yelled Present Mic.
"Wait, Bakugo's team, no way." Said Michiru in disbelief as she looked back, seeing where Bakugo's team was had just lost their headband against one of the teams from Class 1-B.
From what it looked like, the same Class 1-B team was testing Bakugo, and looked like it would turn out as a brawl as a couple other Class 1-B teams approached.
"Looks like they're working together, seems like they had a long term strategy set in place.
The audience always loves an underdog so they must be trying to catch their attention as well.
Midoriya spoke to his group with the free time they had while they ran past them, being completely ignored by the Class 1-B groups surrounding Bakugo's team.
"But if they're playing this smart then they'll most likely not take the chance of trying to steal our headband." Said Midoriya.
"Which means the only people we'll need to worry about is-" Said Midoriya before he stopped mid sentence, as well as the team stopped moving as they saw another team stop face to face with them.
Todoroki was being carried by both Yaoyorozu and Kaminari, with Iida being the main horse that all blocked their way.
Michiru was staring back at Todoroki, being met with a cold stare from his dual colored eyes that showed no emotion.
"Todoroki." Said Michiru boldly, having not forgotten his declaration of war against her and Midoriya.
She took a deep breathe, knowing clearly this would've soon happened as did Midoriya, now having no choice but to face Todoroki and his team.
"I'll be taking that now." Said Todoroki in anger.
He just recently failed to capture Will's headband, having greatly underistamted her, now belives that Michiru is easy to obtain as she was no where near as powerful as Will.
"Your welcome to try." Said Michiru as she countered his comment, determined to prove his words wrong.
It was finally the showdown people waited for, a battle between two top teams.
To think Class 1-A was losing was good tv coverage, but to see the second placement and first placement teams fight it off was even better.
Both Todoroki and Michiru's team eyed each other, none making the first move yet as their neighboring teams got closer by the minute.
"I had hoped this confrontation wouldn't occur till later in the contest or at all." Said Tokoyami.
"But it appears Todoroki has it out for your headband Kagemori." Said Tokoyami as he wasn't surprised Todoroki would be after them so soon after his declaration against Kagemori and Midoriya.
But because Michiru took first place from both him and Bakugo, it was likely for those two to come after her later on, and sadly he was right.
"He's right, it looks like with Ida on their side they have a speed advantage." Said Midoriya.
"And with Yaoyorozu's Creation Quirk it means we need to be weary for any traps or tools they may have." Said Midoriya as he realized Todoroki had come up with a solid plan just as they did, with Ida as their horse they could quickly maneuver, while Yaoyorozu can create any object needed for their situation.
But for Kaminari's purpose, they were uncertain as to why he was chosen by Todoroki, but they would soon find out.
"Now Ida, move forward." Said Todoroki, as Ida answered back willingly prepared to carry his group forward.
With a running start forward, they practically skid thanks to the roller skates Yaoyorozu made before the match.
"Yaoyorozu, be prepared to protect us." Said Todoroki.
Yaoyorozu began to build long staffs that poked out of her arms, as well as a shield from her lower stomach, illuminating as the objects became fully formed.
"Kaminari." Said Todoroki.
Kaminari smiled, answering back to Todoroki with confidence.
"Oh I know what to do!" Yelled Kaminari as he began to emit electric sparks across his body when Todoroki, while several other teams including Asui and even those from Class 1-B.
"Oh no, more teams?" Asked Uraraka, starting to worry over their current situation when she looked to Midoriya, who had suddenly come to a realization, processing Todoroki's plan.
Wait a minute, Kaminari's quirk. Thought Midoriya.
They're trying to electrocute everyone here! Yelled Midoriya.
Before Midoriya could even say a word to warn Michiru or Tokoyami, Kaminari's electrical sparks became frequent and larger, until they fully surrounded him. this gave Todoroki the right moment to surround the rest of his team in a large insulated sheet, exactly the same as what Yaoyorozu made at the U.S.J.
"Take this, 1.3 million volts!" Yelled Kaminari as he unleashed a large field of electricity across their surroundings, shocking the surrounding teams but not Michiru's, due to Dark Shadow taking the attacks once more for Michiru.
The surrounding teams cried out frantically from the pain and overwhelming shocks that filled their nervous systems, leaving them stunned for a few moments following the attack.
Todoroki pulled off the sheet, exposing his right arm as he grabbed the black staff Yaoyorozu made, pressing it to the ground beside him.
"Less than six minutes left, it's time we make a move." Said Todoroki.
His ice began to flow down the staff and across the ground further behind them, spreading so quickly not even the stunned teams could react fast enough.
Some people couldn't tell but Todoroki was changing his strategy, because so many people in his class avoided his obstacle he needed to immobilize them first before trying again, and Kaminari was just the man for this he thought.
By the time Todoroki had gotten past the teams he froze, along with some of their headbands because of it, he started to freeze the area behind him.
Creating a large ice wall that blocked their area away from the rest of the arena, leaving only Todoroki and Michiru's team to face off without any distractions.
Michiru's team was struggling to move away from them, with Ida as Todoroki's horse they started to gain on them quickly, leaving Michiru no time to use her abilities to escape from them.
"It's time you hand over that headband Kagemori!" Yelled Ida boldly , his eyes showing sparks of determination and competitiveness.
"Oh no they're gaining on us!" Yelled Uraraka, with Todoroki's team only several feet away from them.
"Crap, you won't get near us!" Yelled Michiru, focusing on her tail to grow rapidly around her teammates, taking not just them but Todoroki's team by surprise.
"What on earth!" Yelled Ida.
Luckily, this forced Ida to change course, avoiding Michiru's growing tail.
Todoroki watched Michiru's tail grow so large to the point it was impossible to see her team from within.
"Dammit, what the hell was that?" Asked Todoroki, frustrated that not even he could see it coming.
"With her tail grown around them like that we can't get her headband." Said Ida, without any way of knowing where the headband was within, they had no choice but to remain further back, for they were unsure of what else she had up her sleeve.
Wait, she outgrew her tail just as she did during our first encounter. Thought Shirou as he suddenly got a flashback, realizing when they first met, really met at that alleyway following the interruption of Anima City's anniversary, her tail grew rapidly from her frustration and fear to stop him from hurting the bombers anymore.
She did the same thing during their first arrival here to save Mt. Lady from incoming debris, even though her emotions have made Michiru's powers unpredictable, she was slowly learning how to better control her abilities.
This made him think of something, something he hoped couldn't be true, but he would need to discuss it later.
If she can enlarge her tail instantly like that then we have to play this smart. Thought Todoroki.
Otherwise we may never get her headband. Thought Todoroki as he kept his team back, unsure of what else Michiru's team had in store after what had just happened.
But as the tail began to finally shrink back, practically unwrapping itself from around Michiru's team, revealing them unscathed.
"You guys alright?" Asked Michiru asked to the group, all of them answering back thankfully.
"I'm sorry I couldn't warn you guys sooner, they were getting too close and I couldn't risk losing our headband." Said Michiru.
"You're fine Kagemori, I'm just glad it was later than never you know!" Yelled Uraraka as she smiled, despite being a bit shaken by Michiru's growing tail she was relieved.
"Yeah, from the looks of it Todoroki is keeping his distance, since he just witnessed your ability to grow your tail they can't risk getting close without getting caught in it." Said Midoriya.
"But that buys us time to come up with another strategy." Said Midoriya as he noticed how Todoroki's team was hesitant, further back towards the ice wall as they stood aware of their movements.
"Indeed, because Kagemori completely surrounded us with her tail, it blocked any direct sunlight for sometime." Said Tokoyami.
"It gave Dark Shadow a chance to recover thanks to you." Said Tokoyami.
Dark Shadow appeared towards the group, joyful that it had a chance to heal thanks to the darkness.
"But as long as Kaminari continues to use his quirk, Dark Shadow will be neutralized just as he almost did moments before, we must be careful." Said Tokoyami.
That was when Michiru came up with an idea and realized something, when they spoke with Tokoyami and their offer for him to join, he explained to her teammates about how his quirk worked.
When he's in sunlight, Dark Shadow was easier to control but had less power, but at night Dark Shadow's powers were far stronger but more difficult to control.
Which meant unless he was under darkness, Dark Shadow had a limit to how much damage he could take until he would be taken out.
"But they don't know dark shadows back to normal right?" Asked Michiru.
" Let's use that, more importantly if what you said is true about Kaminari we need to take him out." Said Michiru.
Uraraka turned her head confused about what she said.
"Wait shouldn't we be avoiding them?" Asked Uraraka.
"You heard what Tokoyami said if Kaminari hits Dark Shadow with his Quirk, he's done for!" Yelled Uraraka.
Dark Shadow frantically nodded to Uraraka's comment, having no interest in being shocked again by Kaminari.
"Yeah I don't wanna be hit by him again, it stings!" Yelled Dark Shadow.
"But Kaminari's got a limit." Said Michiru.
"I remember, the negative side of Kaminari's Quirk is that he goes dumb if he uses it too much." Said Michiru.
"Jiro told me something about it after the U.S.J. if we can find some way to make him overuse his quirk then they'll lose their main attack, since Dark Shadow is back to full strength we'll use that." Said Michiru.
"Oh come on!" Yelled Dark Shadow as he groaned in disappointment at Michiru's idea, but had no choice by Tokoyami's command.
"But there's still another way to beat them too, Todoroki's left side, he's hardly ever used it at all." Said Midoriya as he remembered something else about Todoroki's team, so far Todoroki has never used his left side, except to melt ice.
This means they can exploit that weakness.
"That's good, we can use that to our advantage. We can do this, we'll win this with the ten million!" Yelled Michiru as she grinned, as her team confidently answered back while Todoroki's team finally began to approach them.
Meanwhile outside the ice wall
"Ahh my babies are ruined!" Yelled Hatsume as she almost cried at the sight of her burned out gadgets she carried with her.
After Kaminari shocked all of the surrounding teams, it short circuited her own support items she used for her team.
"Well it could be worse, we already lost our points." Said Asui just beside her, she looked back down to Shoji who was still struggling to get free of Todoroki's ice, while others were trying to do the same thing.
"How could it be worse?" Asked Hatsume.
"Now my babies will never get the chance to show their worth to the companies here!" Yelled Hatsume as she struggled to try and repair her damaged support items, but it was no use knowing the circuits were fried from the inside.
"Gah this stuff is so frustrating!" Yelled Shishada in frustration, trying to free all four of his limbs from the ice while his teammate remained atop him.
"We need to hurry and get the other teams points the second we're free!" Yelled Rin, trying to help get his friend out of the ice by using the sharp scales he generated from his arm.
"Dang it! I'm not gonna let that guy get away with our points!" Yelled Kendo stubbornly after losing a couple of the headbands they stole.
Her team tried to get free, for it was only a matter of time till one of the other teams were freed and the other team's points would be for the taking while they were still stuck.
Minutes Before
"Your class is too small minded, it's not surprising since you all are so cocky.." Said Monama.
"A little word of advice, think bigger." Said Monoma as he stole Bakugo's headband easily before he could react.
The boy was startled by the sudden attack but also angry about what Monoma had said, turning his head.
"W-what, the hell did you say?!" Yelled Bakugo.
Monoma's team came to a stop as the blond haired boy turned his head.
"What, too dumb to understand or are you just baffaled because you don't get your way?" Asked Monama with a cocky grin.
Bakugo clenched his teeth, small explosions popped from his hands when the boy continued.
"I'm not surprised, especially since you were a victim of that wood villain a while back." Said Monama.
"Maybe you can tell me more about it after we beat you and your class." Said Monama.
Bakugo nearly popped a vein, blinded by annoyance and rage by this boy.
"Kirishima, screw our original plan, we're killing this asshole and his team." Said Bakugo.
Monoma smiled, even though he knew he should be scared his plan was going better than he thought, Bakugo was taking the bait.
"Bakugo cool it!" Yelled Ashido as she tried to calm him down, as did Kirishima.
"Yeah man chill!" Yelled Sero.
"They're right man if you let your emotions get the best of you we'll never get our points back." Said Kirishima.
Bakugo yelled in rage, smirking with almost a villainous but terrifying look as his hands smoked from the explosions he caused.
His team looked at him with nervous looks, unsure if Bakugo was just crazy.
"Shut up, I've never been better, now do as I tell you and get those goddamn bastards!" Yelled Bakugo.
Good, time to see that pride crumble. Thought Monoma as he and his team were prepared, despite being at a possible disadvantage they had the element of surprise.
But would soon realize they would bite off more than they could chew.
The battle for the smaller pointers continued on the outside of the ice wall, Todoroki and Michiru's team were at a standoff. Both teams had incredible powers, both were unable to overpower the other unless they had a way to outsmart them.
While the audience cheered and watched the two teams stand distant from one another, most didn't realize a strategy was being played on Todoroki's team.
His team took a couple steps forward, trying to make a charge when Michiru's team kept moving to Todoroki's left side.
While doing so, Dark Shadow stood strong in front of Tokoyami while Michiru confidently watched Todoroki become worried.
Dammit, Kagemori is keeping her distance while staying across my left side. Thought Todoroki.
If I try to freeze them I'll hit Ida instead, Midoriya must've come up with that strategy, that bastard. Thought Todoroki.
"Kaminari, you think you can help take out Dark Shadow?" Asked Todoroki, looking beside him to see the boy shaking and stuttering due to already feeling the side effects of his quirk.
"Y-y-eah sure I can gsch-gsch g-get them easy y-yeah." Said Kaminari.
Todoroki sighed realizing Kaminari was almost at his limit, they were in a tight spot, their cards were all nearly put out on the table with only a couple left against Michiru's deck.
They were running out of options, their only chance was to get in close and face them head on.
"Everyone, I have an idea, i'm gonna make sure we get their points before time runs out." Said Ida as he got his group's attention, all looking to him for his plan.
"What's the plan?" Asked Yaoyorozu, when Ida got into his sprinting stance.
"Just make sure you hold on tight, and be ready to get that headband Todoroki." Said Ida.
Todoroki nodded, curious but trusted Ida's plan as the boy's exhaust pipes ignited.
They started to turn from yellowish-orange flames into blue, Ida called out just before sprinting with their last wildcard.
"Recipro Burst!" Yelled Ida.
He was so fast he was practically a missile, firing himself forward with his team rapidly towards Michiru.
She gasped, trying to react fast enough but with Ida's sudden speed boost, it was faster than she expected.
Dark Shadow tried to get in front of Michiru as a shield, blocking Todoroki's eyesight but couldn't hit him fast enough, Todoroki flinched and ducked under, reaching his hand out to grab Michiru's headband.
Even as Ida suddenly stopped after shooting himself across them, Todoroki luckily managed to grab what felt like the headband.
Both teams were shocked, even Present Mic gasped so loud on the microphone it nearly blew Aizawa's eardrums.
"NO WAY, SHOTO TODOROKI HAS STOLEN THE TEN MILLION POINTS AND TAKEN FIRST PLACE!" Yelled Present Mic.
The crowd cheered at the sudden turn of events, seeing that the son of Endeavor has proven himself with his team at stealing the ten million, the crowd continued to watch the teams aftermath encounter while Todoroki spoke to his team.
"Ida what was that?" Asked Todoroki, surprised but rather impressed by his special move.
"It was a special move of mine that sets my quirk into overdrive, giving me a powerful boost but shoots out my engines temporarily." Said Ida as he explained his powerful ability for his quirk, it made since that his move would give him even more speed, but because he was now unable to use his quirk for sometime it meant they just needed to keep Michiru from getting their points back.
"It's fine, all we need to do is just-" Said Todoroki before he looked down, his eyes widened to see what he grabbed wasn't what he expected.
He knew he grabbed fabric from what he thought was the headband, but what he held was a torn off piece of U.A.'s training uniforms.
"What the hell?" Asked Todoroki in shock.
"I thought I grabbed the headband!" Yelled Todoroki as he scoffed at himself, realizing he should've checked instead of wasting time after coming to a stop.
Had he not flinched or even took his eyesight off Michiru he would've been able to actually aim his hand for the headband.
His team looked up realizing their mistake, in complete shock.
"Impossible, I ran right beside them we should've gotten them!" Yelled Ida, dumbfounded as he tried to think clearly of how he had failed.
"It can't be!" Yelled Yaoyorozu as she couldn't even begin with what she was watching, she thought they had won but now, they failed.
"WHAT A MINUTE, TODOROKI HAD BEEN DUPED, BY TORN CLOTHING BUT WHERE'S KAGEMORI?" Asked Present Mic.
The entire audience was shocked, even the U.A. staff were surprised by how the tides turned, all of them turning their eyes to the leading team.
Just as Todoroki looked over at Michiru's team, trying to find out what plan they had up their sleeve when he realized something was missing, the point carrier.
Wait a minute, she was right there, I saw her when I- Thought Todoroki before Yaoyorozu said something.
"Look!" Yelled Yaoyorozu as she pointed above them.
As Todoroki looked up, as did the audience, they saw Michiru casually flying a few meters above them.
And yet she wasn't using her wings, she was just remaining still as she heavily breathed while checking to see if her headband remained where it was before.
"Wait, she's not flying, she's floating!" Yelled Yaoyorozu.
"It's Uraraka's quirk, I should've known they would float Kagemori upwards when we charged!" Yelled Ida as he looked over at Uraraka, who was seemingly smiling with such a competitive look.
They had a plan this entire time, it wasn't just to avoid Todoroki but to make sure they wouldn't even get near Michiru.
Todoroki started fitted the pieces together, even seeing where he tore off the clothing he held.
His teeth clenched together, tossing the torn clothing aside, annoyed when Michiru grinned from above them.
"Release!" Yelled Uraraka.
With the touch of her hands together, Uraraka shut off her quirk as Michiru fell downwards but was caught in Dark Shadow's arms, eventually back to where she was carried in her team's arms.
"Looks like your plan worked Midoriya!" Yelled Michiru, joyful but relieved after how close they were to losing the headband.
"I knew they weren't done yet, if you had used your wings to escape they would've reacted sooner." Said Midoriya.
"They had to believe they had the upper hand, while Uraraka used her quirk on you, and as Dark Shadow blocked their sight on you when they charged." Said Midoriya.
"I'm impressed, I knew you were smart Midoriya but you're far more clever than I expected." Said Tokoyami as even he had to admit, Midoriya was smart and cunning, even though he couldn't use his quirk during the battle he made up for it by strategist.
No wonder he bested Bakugo in combat training he thought, he was able to predict Bakugo's attacks just as he did with Todoroki's team.
"LESS THAN A MINUTE LEFT!" Yelled Midnight.
"Tsuburaba!" Yelled Monama, the brown haired boy quickly react, seeing Bakugo was on them, after stealing some headbands including Bakugo's, the explosive user was enraged and so, he gave pursue to them
"On it!" Yelled Tsunuraba.
Then he blew air from his mouth that solidified into a circular glass-like platform, making Bakugo landed face-first on it
"Serves you right!" Yelled Monama.
Then as Team Monoma was about to leave him, Bakugo use his sheer strength to shatter the solidified air and manage to steal a couple of headbands from them.
"YOU WON'T GET AWAY!" Yelled Bakugo.
Team Monoma was forced to retreat from Bakugo, who also retreated back to his team thanks to Sero's tape catching him along with two of the headbands
"BAKUGO WAS STARTING TO HEAT UP, ONLY A MINUTE LEFT 'TILL THE ROUND WAS OVER! Yelled Present Mic, causing more cheers erupted from the crowd
"I'M NOT DONE YET!" Yelled Bakugo.
Monama look behind to see Team Bakugo was closing in to them
"They're onto us, hurry up!" Yelled Monoma, his teammates nodded at that as they increase their pace, however it was never enough
"Time to get some real points, then after that, the ten million point headband was next!" Yelled Bakugo, his speech actually encourages Kirishima, Sero and Ashido as they all grin
"FLAT FACE, TAPE 'EM!" Yelled Bakugo.
Sero grunted after being called by that, but he obey him nevertheless
"My name's Sero!" Yelled Sero.
Sero then launch a long tape from his elbows, it pass Team Monoma, who all smirk
"You miss!" Yelled Monama as he taunted
"RACOON EYES, ACID ON THE DIRECTION WE'RE GOING!" Yelled Bakugo.
Ashido grunted just like Sero
"It's Mina Ashido!" Yelled Mina.
Mina splatter some acid in front of them
Bakugo ignited his palms with his tiny explosions and propel them in incredible speed, thanks to Sero's tape pulling them while having a very low friction on the ground thanks to Ashido's acid
Team Monoma look at them with shock faces, Tsuburaba tried to defend using his 'solid air' quirk, but it was completely useless as Bakugo use his explosion along with the immense momentum they gained on the way to completely break it and grab the headband on Neito's neck
They soon ran towards where Team Vandom was.
"We can still win this, we can still get there points!" Yelled Todoroki as his eyes sparked with both determination but also worry, he couldn't take this loss, not when his old man was watching.
His team immediately took action, despite ida's inability to run fast, they needed to rely on close combat.
He swung his right arm forward, creating a path of ice towards Michiru's group.
Michiru closed her eyes, covering her arms in front of her face when no ice hit her, realizing where it struck when her team cried out from the ice froze their feet up to their knees.
Michiru as well as the rest of her team looked over, shocked and concerned for her team, goosebumps were already coming up across their arms from the cold.
"Guys, are you okay?!" Yelled Michiru, startled but also worried about his friend.
"I think so!" Yelled Midoriya.
"Y-yeah I think I'm fine, it's just so cold!" Yelled Uraraka.
"Kagemori prepare yourself, Todoroki isn't finished with us yet!" Yelled Tokoyami as he had to raised his voice, getting the girl's attention while Dark Shadow roared.
Yaoyorozu was in the midst of creating something from her exposed stomach when Dark Shadow charged forward at them.
"Like I'm gonna let you guys try that trick again!" Yelled Dark Shadow.
"Kaminari!" Yelled Todoroki when Yaoyorozu handed Todoroki another insulated sheet, the yellow haired boy was struggling too much to focus, but it was one of the last things he was able to hear as he channeled his quirk for one final blast.
He groaned and yelled, large amounts of electricity came from his body and towards Dark Shadow, who cried out from the pain as he retreated, stunned from the overwhelming blast.
Tokoyami's eyes widened, shocked to see dark shadow become wounded at such a terrible time knowing clearly they were in a tight spot.
"Ah oh no!" Yelled Midoriya as he gasped, his heart was racing as the clock ticked, there wasn't much time left on the clock and they were getting too close for comfort.
"OH NO LOOKS LIKE KAGEMORI'S TEAM MAY LOSE THAT HEADBAND AFTER ALL!" Yelled Present Mic.
Come on Michiru. Thought Shirou.
He had to admit this game got him worked up, he didn't even realize his left leg was shaking until one of the teachers told him.
He couldn't help it, he was her guardian and of course he was rooting for her to win just as All Might was for Midoriya.
I know you can do this Midoriya. Thought All Might as he was a bit worried for Midoriya, but after what he's watched so far he was impressed with his resourcefulness and strategy.
He knew Midoriya could do this, the boy wanted to make him proud after all just as All Might has for him.
"Kagemori, you must fly away!" Yelled Tokoyami.
"They can't get your headband if time runs out!" Yelled Tokoyami.
Michiru knew she had no choice, anything else she could've done would put their team's points at risk.
"Well hold them back!" Yelled Midoriya.
Uraraka looked over seeing his brave smile, she always liked how confident he was even when their odds were uncertain.
"Don't worry Kagemori, we'll be okay!" Yelled Uraraka as she smiled, fighting off the chills while trying to reassure her teammate, knowing well how protective she was of her friends.
Michiru clenched her teeth, knowing she had no choice as she morphed her wings.
"Dark Shadow!" Yelled Tokoyami as he called for Dark Shadow to attempt one last strike with hopes to buy time for Michiru to escape, but as the dark entity charged, Yaoyorozu formed a stone shield, striking Dark Shadow with it as she practically struck him aside.
"I won't let you get away this time." Said Todoroki as he was only a few feet away, when he saw Michiru's wings forming he knew well he needed to do something.
He acted on instinct, he didn't think anything threw, as his left arm began to emit the flames that reminded him too much of someone he hated.
The flames on his arms spread quickly, the look he had said it all with how desperate he was to get that headband.
He raised his arm forward with hopes of stopping Michiru from flying away, but before he could do anything, one last wildcard was placed at the table.
Imagine the egg not exploding, you're just moving his arm back, SMAAAAAASH! Yelled Midoriya as he focused One For All into his arm, the energy and power he felt was a bit overwhelming, but he had no choice but to use it.
He swung his open arm starting from the left, using his quirk like All Might did from the U.S.J. with hopes of directing Todoroki's arm away.
When Midoriya swung his arm, the generated force from his arm created a gust of wind that pushed Todoroki's arm aside.
My left side, what am I doing? Asked Todoroki when his heart dropped when he came to a realization of the fire that he created from his arm, becoming lost in his train of thought.
It hurts, but at least my arm isn't broken! Thought Midoriya.
"Go Kagemori!" Yelled Midoriya to Michiru, as her teammates released their grip on Michiru's body, and with a few flaps with her wings she quickly elevated herself above her team.
"Yes!" Yelled All Might as he cheered, raising his arms in the air after seeing Michiru fly away.
The joy he felt realizing they had a solid win meant they would go to the next round, and as will Midoriya.
The crowd roared with cheer and excitement, there was so much suspense building between the two teams, people were on the edge of their seats just waiting for their favorite teams to win.
Even the eyes of Pro Heroes being set on the two teams increased, some with hopes of scouting them.
With only a few seconds left, the ice wall suddenly shattered beside the two teams, revealing it to be a large explosion from Bakugo blasting himself through towards the Team Vandom who came before them.
They broke through! Yelled Todoroki as he came back to reality, seeing their two rival classmates fighting.
"Don't think you'll keep those ten million points, Red Hair!" Yelled Bakugo angrily, after his fight with Monoma's team he became so worked up and impatient he rushed in before his team could even keep up with him.
Bakugo looked to see Will was gone from where her team was while they were on ice.
Crap It's Bakugo! Yelled Michiru as she thought to herself, remembering the only person who can come after her in the air other than Yoarashi was Bakugo.
Which meant she needed to escape now before he could see her, and boy she did not want to deal with him now.
Bakugo became stuck with who to go for when he saw Michiru in the air flapping her wings, he gritted his teeth, knowing now it was either winner takes all for the ten million, or to make sure Todoroki would go down in humiliation.
"Dammit!" Yelled Bakugo as he charged forwards towards Will.
All four teams were about to clash, despite Michiru having no choice but to watch from above, she became too worried for her own team.
"TIMES UP!" Yelled Present Mic as the timer rang, Michiru, Will and Todoroki's team came to a stop while Bakugo suddenly fell face first to the ground.
"AND WITH THAT THE SECOND ROUND FINISHES AFTER AN INCREDIBLE BATTLE FOR THE TEN MILLION POINTS!" Yelled Present Mic.
Michiru's heart finally stopped pounding out of her chest, it felt like the second round had lasted hours despite it only lasting 15 to 20 minutes.
She felt so much relief, not only that but also joy that she made it to the final round, what she had told Shirou was close to coming true.
But she was not just proud of herself but of her teammates, Midoriya, Uraraka, and Tokoyami, she wouldn't be here without their help.
While Michiru flew back down, the teams unwinded after clashing with one another, especially Bakugo's after feeling like they were trying to control a crazed dog.
"Bakugo are you alright man?" Asked Kirishima alongside Ashido and Sero, finally catching up to him.
Unfortunately they were answered back with frustrated yelling from Bakugo as he pounded the ground with his fist like a child.
Will (Earlier)
Choosing a teammate was really hard on her status as first place and there's two reason for that, the first one is: you are the main target for your enemies and second: they don't want to be the one being chased all the time since being with the first place, which is Will, means that you should be prepared to ran all your might since almost everyone will be after your points
She lets out a sigh.
How come no one wants to team up with me? Asked Will in sadness.
Is it because of my points? Thought Will as she was still struggling to choose his teammate, but then...
"Vandom." Said a male voice.
She turn to see Ojiro, who just called her name
"Ojiro!" Yelled Will in surprise.
"Can we team up?" Asked Ojiro.
"R-Really?" Asked Will in surprise.
Will was overjoyed at that, now he has at least one teammate on his group
"Sure, I would love to!" Yelled Will
"Me too!" Yelled out another voice.
Will and Ojiro turn to Yoarashi behind them.
"If you don't mind, that is!" Yelled Yoarashi in excitement, as he did not want to be on Todoroki's team.
"Sure, I don't see why not." Said Will as she could take what she can get.
"Okay, then I guess we're one member short!" Yelled Yoarashi.
"That's right." Said Will.
"You have any idea who will be our last member?" Asked Ojiro.
Will tried to think of someone.
"How about me?" Asked another male voice.
They turned around to see Shinso standing behind them.
"Oh, your that guy from Class B, the one who waged war on us." Said Will as she hasn't forgotten that.
Shinso rubbed the back of his head.
"Guess i got carried away back then." Said Shinso.
"So why do you want to join?" Asked Ojiro in confusion.
"Becuase with our Quriks together, not only can we take more points but prevent others from stealing us." Said Shinso.
"And what is your Quirk?" Asked Yoarashi with a raised eyebrow, never even hearing it before.
Shinso gave a description of his Quirk and how useful it'll be for the team, with that Will agreed to let him join her team.
"Okay, it seems that everyone has now a team!" Yelled Midnight , after 15 minutes of allotted time to choose their members, the audience can now see that all of the first year students were now divided into groups with either three of four members
"Well, let the 2nd game begin!" Yelled Midnoght.
And as Will predicted, every eyes of the students were at them or Michiru, but Will won't just let them easily take her ten million points, if they want it, they have to work hard for it, really hard
"Here they come!" Yelled Yoarashi.
"I'm counting to you, Ojiro, Yoarashi and Shinso." Said Midoriya.
"Okay!" Yelled Yoarashi.
"Leave it to me!" Yelled Ojiro.
"Yeah!" Yelled Shinso.
Then everyone charge towards them and the first student to use his quirk was from the guy named Juzo Honenuki of Class 1-B, using his 'softness' quirk, he easily made the ground were every team were standing very soft, therefore making it very difficult for the team to stay still
"Vandom!" Yelled Ojiro.
"Yoarashi, NOW!" Yelled Will.
"Okay!" Yelled Yoarashi.
With a quick fling of his arm, a powerful whirlwind was ejected on the bottom and propel them high in the sky, escaping their pursuers for the time being
"Now's my chance!" Yelled Will as she then clench her fists and then she sharply raise them and.
"Whoa!"
"What!"
"What's happening?!"
A pillar of earth emerged on the stadium and then Will's team land there, it was so high up that no one can reach them at all
"I see, so you're going to expire the time limit with this." Said Shinso as he deduced
"Yeah, but there are others whose quirk can reach us so we still can't let our guard down yet." Said Will.
"Yeah!" Yelled Yoarashi with more excitment.
Cybersix just look at the pillar of earth Will created, it seems that her quirk was quite useful in many ways and not just that, it seems that Will isn't showing any drawback at all
This kid. Thought Cybersix.
Todoroki click his tongue at that.
So that's how he want to play huh, well in that case. Thought Todoroki
"We're going after them!" Yelled his teammates, which consist of Kaminari, Yaoyorozu and Ida
"Yeah!" Yelled Kaminari.
Then Todoroki use his ice quirk and create a giant pillar of ice in diagonal formation that match the height of Will's pillar of earth, Team Vandom gasp at the appearance of it
"Here they come!" Yelled Shinso.
"Yeah!" Yelled Ojiro.
Then Ida use his quirk engine to give them a boost and then Team Todoroki slid on the ice and then they manage to reach Will and her group
"Todoroki." Said Yoarashi with hate in his voice.
"Vandom, you won't escape that easily." Said Todoroki.
Both teams were on the pillar of earth, ready to face off each other while below was the remaining teams fighting for points
"Kaminari, Yaoyorozu!" Yelled Todoroki.
"Okay!" Yelled the both of them.
Then from Yaoyorozu's right arm, a steel rod emerged and connect itself on the ground and then from her stomach came a large cloth that was completely insulated which can protect the entire team from any electric attacks
"Okay, here I go!" Yelled Kaminari.
"Indiscriminate Shock: 1.3 Million Volts!" Yelled Kaminari.
Then Kaminari let loose a powerful yellow electric attack that scattered everywhere, this will to ensure that Will and her team were to take the hit and stop them from moving.
"Leave this to me for a while!" Yelled Will and then without waiting for any confirmation, she held her arms a lightning came out of it, which amde contract with Kaminari's electricy.
An explosion occurred at the two powers was created, everyone on below gasped at that and temporarily stop fighting for the points
"Did we get them?" Asked Todoroki as he was waiting for the smoke to subsided until a stream of flames emerged from the smoke, Team Todoroki gasped at that
"Kaminari!" Yelled Todoroki again.
"I'm on it!" Yelled Kaminari.
Then Kaminari release another bolt of electricity to counter the flames (The insulated cloth was still wrapped on the three), and luckily it cancel both attacks, the smoke then subside to see a bunker made out of earth and there's a rectangular hole on the front
"W-What is that?" Asked Yaoyorozu.
Then from the rectangular hole, another stream of flames emerged and it was aimed to them, and this time Todoroki ordered them to dodge it
"Fire huh, then my ice will be completely useless against it, I'll just use-" Said Todoroki before he shook his head, there's no way he'll use his left side, not in this place where his father was watching
"D-Damn it!" Yelled Ida.
"Vandom really think things through and with that weird power of hers that can control the elements, she can came up with a lot of strategies that suits their situation." Said Ida as he was frustrated at that fact
"But they can't just hide there, not if I have to say anything about it!" Yelled Todoroki as he use his ice quirk to cover the earth bunker whole
"Let's see if they can endure getting trapped inside of it!" Yelled Todoroki.
Then to their surprise, the ice that was covering them was slowly melting and then Todoroki was about to freeze them again when suddenly, Ida realized something
"Todoroki, We have to-" Yelled Ida.
But it was too late, the ice that was covering the bunker had melted and it transform into water which is now floating in the air, just on the top of the bunker
"I forgot to tell you guys that Vandom can manipulate water as well!" Yelled Ida.
"What!" Yelled Todoroki in shock.
He realized he won't win with his current plan so he made a new one.
"Everyone, we're going after Kagemori, we're not gonna win with this Team." Said Todoroki.
They wanted to argue but after seeing her power in action they decided against it and went after Team Kagemori.
Then the earth bunker was shattered to reveal Team Vandom.
Will was currently swaying both her hands, Yoarashi was in front of them as well as his wirlwind Quirk to keep their guard up, Ojiro and Shinso sigh in relief as they finally released on the bunker
"Finally, we're out!" Yelled Ojiro.
"Yeah, I hate dark places." Said Shinso in agreement.
Suddenly an explosion occured and looked to see it was Bakugo coming towards them.
"Shinso, how are you doing?" Asked Will to the latest teammate.
"It's okay now." Replied Shinso.
"Then, let's get started." Said Will and then she use the water he got from Todoroki's ice, encasing it on both of her arms to form a whip.
"Here we go!" Yelled Yoarashi as they ran foward towards Team Bakugo.
A Few Seconds Later
"I-I can't believe it!" Yelled Sero as he was shocked at the power of Vandom's quirk, the water that was on her arms were whipping them like a slave and keeping them away and not only that, she's using other elements like fire and air from her mouth
Even though Will was holding them off, she was still being vigilante in case some sneak attacks that might come from them
"We can win this!" Yelled Ojiro.
"My Quirk wasn't having much use here but oh well." Said Shinso as he shrugged.
"D-Damn it!" Yelled Bakugo as he cursed, they still wouldn't able to grab the ten million points from them, he grit his teeth even more when they got to the ice wall where Teams Kagemori and Todoroki and that was when the game was over.
Every participants was forced to stop chasing each other after hearing that announcement, then without further ado, Vandom then motion her arms downward and stopped using her powers.
Presently
"Bakugo are you alright man?" Asked Kirishima alongside Ashido and Sero, finally catching up to him.
Unfortunately they were answered back with frustrated yelling from Bakugo as he pounded the ground with his fist like a child.
"NOW LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT OUT TOP TEAMS THAT'LL GO ONTO THE NEXT ROUND!" Yelled Present Mic.
"IN FIRST PLACE, SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDING ONE OF THE TEN MILLION POINTS IS TEAM VANDOM!" Yelled Present Mic.
The four of them smirked and fist bumped with each other.
"NEXT IN SECOND PLACE IS TEAM KAGEMORI!" Yelled Present Mic.
"Great job guys! I can't believe we made it!" Yelled Michiru, receiving smiles from Midoriya and Uraraka, while Tokoyami nodded quietly.
"We couldn't have done it without your help either Kagemori, sorry I couldn't use my quirk much." Said Midoriya with gratitude, but looked down in disappointment knowing had he not used his quirk they could've lost the headband.
"Oh come on Midoriya you were awesome!" Yelled Uraraka.
"Don't forget, next to Vandom, you were our biggest strategist!" Yelled Uraraka as she went in front of Midoriya excitedly, making him blush and look away feeling butterflies in his stomach.
"Oh umm well thank you umm I r-really appreciate it!" Yelled Midoriya in nervousness.
Michiru crossed her arms, tilting her head, sighing at how Midoriya acts when Uraraka is all positive and caring with him.
Oh Midoriya, you have no clue how to take compliments from girls very well don't you? Asked Michiru in her head.
"AND IN THIRD PLACE, TEAM TODOROKI!" Yelled Present Mic.
Ida and Yaoyorozu looked upon each other in disappointment and shame despite doing well they felt defeated.
"I can't believe we were so close to getting ten million." Said Ida in dispair.
"It's alright Ida, you still did exceptional especially with your special move." Said Yaoyorozu.
While the two tried to remove their unease, Kaminari began walking around clueless of what was going on, now brain dumb after using his quirk too much. Todoroki on the other hand looked down at his left hand, not just in defeat but feeling hypocritical, for breaking a promise he made so many years ago.
I used it, in front of him, I told myself I wouldn't ever use his power but I did. Thought Todoroki.
At this rate he'll be right about who he wants me to be. Thought Todoroki as he felt guilty about himself, as his own father stared down at him from the stands with disappointment.
It was when Todoroki saw Midoriya, remembering something familiar about his quirk that reminded him of someone else's.
He knew it wasn't his business, but he needed to know himself after what he saw.
"AND OUR LAST TEAM MOVING ONTO THE NEXT ROUND IS TEAM BAKUGO!" Yelled Present Mic.
"Oh man, we were so close!" Yelled Ashido as she groaned with disappointment, kicking the ground a bit with the tip of her shoe.
"Ah well it's not a big deal, at least we're moving on right?" Asked Sero as he tried to look on the positive side, until Kirishima answered with a tired look.
"Our team leader may have a different opinion about that man." Said Kirishima.
The trio looked towards Bakugo, who was sitting on the ground sulking in frustration like a sore loser.
They did move on to the next round, but it wasn't enough for a guy like him who arrived to be number one.
But because Bakugo didn't have anything to blow up, all he did was scream to take his never ending anger out.
After Present Mic announced a short break for the students to rest and eat, giving not just them but the staff sometime to discuss the festival.
Michiru and along with a small group of her classmates began exiting together from the stadium, hoping to grab food before the cafeteria gets crowded like usual.
"Good job protecting the ten million by the way." Said Ashido to Michiru, answering back with a smile.
"Thank you Ashido!" Yelled Michiru.
"I was actually wondering but how was it being on Bakugo's team?" Asked Michiru.
Even though Michiru didn't like Bakugo, she was curious as to why Ashido joined his team, receiving a heavy sigh from the girl.
"He only wanted me on his team because I could melt Todoroki'a ice, I know I made into the final round but still." Said Ashido with sadness.
"Ida why were you holding back on us this whole time!" Yelled Uraraka as she boldly asked, jogging in place.
"I apologize Uraraka, saying anything about my ability would have ruined our advantage against other teams." Replied Ida.
"I promise when I go into the final round, I shall set a better example as Classmate!" Yelled Ida.
"Hey at least you guys made it, we lost our headband to one of the Class 1-B teams immediately." Said Jiro as she crossed her arms trying to state the facts, she was a bit jealous of her friends who made it but had to admit she was happy for them.
"Yeah, we lost ours originally to this cocky blonde who could copy other people's quirks, I wasn't expecting that for sure!" Yelled Ashido, making her classmates grow a bit curious but rather surprised.
Ida shuffled his glasses a bit, processing this new information.
"Copying quirks, that's an interesting quirk to have, even though I never thought of it." Said Ida.
"I'm sure Midoriya would be excited to hear about it, since he likes to study heroes and quirks of course." Said Ida.
"Actually, speaking of Deku, where did he go?" Asked Uraraka as she looked around, remembering he was last behind her several minutes ago.
Meanwhile, further away at another entrance, Todoroki and Midoriya were face to face on each side of the wall.
Midoriya was confused, but nervous about the reason he was brought here, only too soon to understand Todoroki's reasoning after their earlier encounter.
"You brought me here, now what?" Asked Midoriya.
Shirou was taking a break while showing his wife around.
But as he was stared down from the stairs by a menacing but familiar hero, flames emitted from the hero's quirk all across the upper body of his navy turquoise costume.
His muscular appearance wasn't just the intimidating part, but the cold stare he had with his light blue eyes could make someone get goosebumps.
From the looks of it, this wasn't gonna be another 'friendly' encounter.
"So we finally meet, Silver Wolf." Said the man.
"Endeavor." Said Shirou with a blank tone on his voice.
A/N: Finally, this chapter is finally done, if you thought all my previous ones were long, this one takes the cake.
I know i originally planned to do two separate stories between Will and Michiru's matches to be in chapters but that caused to much of a headache for me that i did the chapters into one story.
