7. Eternity

He's not sure how much time has passed as he watches them try to revive her. Make her breath, restart her heart. It might be mere moments, to him it feels like an eternity. All he can hear is his heart thumping in his ears and the loud drone of the heart monitor. Nothing else is getting in. He contemplates an eternity without her in his life. He tries to picture it, but all he can see is the heart monitor. She is dead, and as far as he is concerned so is he. She dies. He dies. Together for eternity.
