Bexley was in the hospital later that afternoon. She had to undergo serious treatment for her wrists, which had to be stitdhed up. She had to get sorme more
fluids in her body. Her stomach was hurting her so badly that she wanted to curl up and die. She was being seen by the nurse that had been tasked to take care of looked up at her with frail eyes. "Wh...When can l... eat? I'm starving..." she asked in a begging tone.

"Dear, you can't have any heavy foods right now until your wounds heal You'll have to be put on a liquid diet until then. I'l bring in some soup to help, the nurse said. anything... my stomach hurts so much," Bexley sobbed, desperate for anything to eat. "Alright, hold on, hon," the nurse said, finishing up with the IV before leaving the
room. Bexley didn't want to wait any longer.

Tears flooded her eyes from the agonizing pain. After 10 painful minutes, the nurse brings a tray back with enough food to fill her empty stomach up. Bexley's mouth watered when she smelled it. It smelled so good.

"Can you sit up for me, hon? the nurse asked, rolling the tray cart over to the small girl. Bexley tried, but she was too weak to do it. The nurse helped her sit up before putting the tray of food in front of her.

"Go ahead and eat, hon. l'l be right outside if you need anything," the nurse said, patting Bexley on her boney shoulder. "Wait. How's Reese doing? M-My friend?" Bexley asked worriedly.

"She's still in surgery, hon. She was on the yerge of death when she was found She had six broken ribs, a fractured leg, a punctured lung. She was internatly bleeding also. So I don't know what the outcome of her situation will be. I will let you know how she is when she's out," the nurse sighed grimly.

Bexley wanted to cry. She felt horrible for not being strong enough to protect her. She had to do it for Two-Bit "Bexley, hon. It's not your fault. What matters is that you two are alive and will be reunited with your families," the nurse assured her.

Bexley swallowed hard, having to believe the nurse. "When can I see my brothers? Did this hospital let them know? Does Reese's brother and mom know she's here?" she asked quickly.
"Slow down, hon. We haven't notified them yet, but we will do that soon," the nurse said. "But they need to know l'm okay though," Bexley begged.

"I understand, hon. I do. But you still need to get some rest after you eat," the nurse said. Bexley wanted her see her brothers. It made her upset that they didn't contact them right away.

She was still too weak to argue. "Okay.. please contact them soon. I need to see them," Bexley asked. "We will, hon. Go ahead and eat. You need to get your strength up," the nurse said and smiled at her. Bexley nodded and turned towards her food.

The nurse left Bexley to eat. Bexley looked down at her food, seeing that it was chicken noodle soup with bread and butter, a small fruit cup, and some juice. She started eating it until she wolfed it all down.

She was happy to get some food inside of her She usually doesnt like chicken noodle soup. but she was too hungry to care about what she likes and doesn't like.

After finishing, she pushed the tray away and laid down, pulling her blanket up to her shoulders. Sleep wasn't going to happen for her. She was scared she was going to wake up in that dreaded basement again. Her entire being didn't want that.

Later that night, the door to her room opened. She looked up and saw the nurse walk in. "Your brothers are here to see you. But we're gonna do one at a time so you don't get too stressed, okay?" the nurse said quietly. Bexley felt tears rise in her eyes, but these were happy tears. The nurse walked out of the room and let Darry come into the room. Bexley started to cry when she saw her eldest brother. "Bexley, Oh, thank God, the eldest Curtis said, walking quickly up to her and wrapping her in a tight hug. Bexley hugs him back around his neck. Darry held her close to him, acting as if she'd disappear if he let her go.

Tm so sorry, Darry."she tearfully said. Shhh.. it's okay. It's okay. I'm right here," he softly said, tears falling from his icy blue eyes, which have melted into a soft ocean blue filling with salty water.

Darry kept holding her for another 10 minutes before he decided to send Soda in. Soda had tears running down his face, his chocolate brown eyes red and bloodshot from crying so much. "Soda!" Bexley cried. starting to sob at seeing her second brother.

Soda ran up and hugged her tightly while sobbing. "Thank god.. Thank god you're okay..." the middle Curtis said through tears. Bexley curled into a ball in Sodas lap, snuggling into his muscular chest. "I thought I wasnt going to see you guys again, she cried Soda stroked her
bionde har and kissed it.

"It's okay, baby girl... it's okay now," he whispered, tears falling into her hair. She always loved it when he called her that. It was because their mother always called her that and Soda was very much like their mother.

She felt herself starting to get tired but she shook in her brothers' arms. "What's wrong?" he whispered, feeling her shiver. "I'm scared, Soda." she whimpered. "Of what?" he asked. "I don't want to sleep.. I'm scared l'll wake up in that basement again," she whimpered, clinging onto his red flannel tightly. Soda's heart shattered when she spoke so brokenly. He didn't want to imagine what that bastard did to his kid sister and to Reese.

"You're not going back there, baby girl.. we're right here to protect you, he whispered to her. "You promise?" she asked, feeling hopeful. "I promise. We won't let anything happen to you. You want to see Pony? He's been wanting to see you since we got the call that you've been found," he said, stroking her hair.

Bexley nodded, excited to see her twin yet older brother. That's because he was born about five minutes before Bexley. "Okay…" she said, pulling away from him. He got up and walked through the door, telling Ponyboy that he could come in.

The youngest Curtis boy walked in and teared up at seeing his sister in that hospital bed. He walked over to her. He didn't hesitate to pull her into a hug. "Pony… I'm so happy to see you…" she sobbed, clinging onto her twin brother.

"I knew I should've come home with you," he said, tears streaming from his eyes. "No, i-it's better that you didn't. H-He would've taken you too…" Bexley sobbed, pushing away from him.

"Who took you and Reese, Bex? Who did it?" he asked, looking right at her. Bexley started to shake violently. "I… I don't want to say…" she said, hugging her bruised arms. Ponyboy saw how shaken up she was from all of this. She wouldn't be ready to say who kidnapped her and Reese.

"Pony, do you guys know how Reese is? Is Two-Bit here?" she asked. "Yeah, she's out of surgery. Two-Bit and their mom are with her. He said he'd come to see you soon," he answered.

Bexley mentally sighed that her friend would be okay. Well, physically anyway. She wouldn't be mentally okay for a while. Not after spending almost a week in that hell house.

Bexley wondered why that soc would even target Reese. She had nothing to do with everything that happened months ago. So why her?

"Why her? Why Reese? She didn't do anything… I don't undestand it," Bexley asked. "We don't know either. I think that's something she has to tell us on her own time," Ponyboy replied, biting his bottom lip.

"I'll have to see her when I get out of here. I don't know when that'll be though," Bexley said, shaking her head. "We'll probably get a heads up of when you do," Ponyboy said.

Just then, Bexley's nurse walked in the door. "I'm sorry, son, but I'm gonna have to ask you to scoot, okay?" she said in a kind and sweet tone. The siblings look up at her when she spoke.

"Okay. Get some rest, okay?" Ponyboy said, giving her another hug. She hugged him back. Ponyboy then got up and left the room. After Ponyboy left, the nurse, who Bexley learned the name of, walked in the room and shut the door behind her. Her nurses' name was named Karla.

"You have a nice family, hon," Karla said as she gathered up the empty plate on the tray. "I couldn't ask for better brothers. My oldest brother is our legal guardian. He has been since our parents died," Bexley said as she laid back down.

"Oh my. I'm so sorry to hear that, dear," Karla said, fixing up the IV bag. "It's okay. There's not one day that we don't miss them and our two friends," Bexley said, covering up. Karla felt sympathy for the young girl. She had been through so much.

But now, things would be okay again. Hopefully.
