Jimmy heard the loud crash of a book hit the wall and rushed over to the study.

"Cindy?"

She was crouched in the corner of the room, her eyes red and teary.

"Are you okay?"

"No, Neutron, I just throw books for sport now. And if you don't leave me alone, I'll be using you for target practice."

"Cindy, I know you won't actually do that." He sighed. And then quickly added, "At least I hope not. Anyways, what's wrong?"

"I am so tired of studying for the damn Bar."

"I understand, but throwing the Torts textbook across the room is just going to put a dent in our house, not turn you into a lawyer."

"No, you don't understand, Neutron." He could hear her grinding her teeth in sheer rage. "You're a genius. Everything comes easily to you. You never fail."

Jimmy scoffed. "Do you have amnesia? You spent our entire childhood making fun of all the times my inventions failed. Miserably. And how they almost killed us and the whole town."

"I mean, yeah. They did do that. But you're still a genius at the end of the day."

"Cindy. You are brilliant too. You just weren't feeling well the last time you took the exam. And you are far more multi-talented than me."

"Do my ears deceive me, Neutron? Did you just admit to my superiority?"

"We have the same last name, Vortex." He rolled his eyes.

"Don't deflect." A mischievous smile played at the corner of her lips, and his heart skipped a few beats at the sight. God, how he loved her.

"If I admit to your superiority, will you agree to take the night off and come back to this with fresh eyes tomorrow afternoon?"

She raised her eyebrows. "Why afternoon?"

"Because," He pulled her in by the waist and kissed her. "Right now you're coming with me, and I'm going to keep you up for a while."

She blushed. "Is that so?"

He reached for the zipper of her dress and in one fluid movement, yanked it down. "Does that answer your question?"

She muzzled a breathy yes into the crook of his neck as he carried her out of the room and up the stairs.

The law could wait.
