"Shocket you okay, you have the fidgets huh, excited about the park, huh." Casey asked Shocket noticing her cousin had her paws clenched into fists, to keep her excited energy in until they got to the park which Casey understood.
"Uh-huh but uncle Howie's taking too long, you know I can't hold the fidgets for too much." Shocket told her even though Casey told her she was doing a good job waiting, knowing sometimes she hated waiting when looking forward to fun like playdates and her birthday which was coming up hearing the apartment-door opening seeing just Howard and Linda wondering where Darci and Mork were.
"Mork isn't feeling good so Mama Darci is staying home oh boy you have the fidgets, sorry for taking lomg, Mork almost wouldn't let us leave." Linda told Shocket making her furry soulmate happier, as they were leaving the apartment headed for the park, plus Linda was going to play her favourite game which involved the pond where the Terran ducks huhg out, which only Howard knew about.
When they got to the playground, Shocket zipped off in a blur making Rocket chuckle knowing that all-morning, she had been calm, so knew she was getting the fidgets out of her like he did doing mission drills with Thor and the others helping Demetra swing.
Linda grinned seeing Shocket being happy running around and being loud, slipping away to the pond taking off her clothes revealing her feathery body and tail waddling and quacking following the other ducks into the water, knowing her dad would be able to find her, hoping Shocket would find her game funny.
"Hey Ducky let's get ice-cream-" Shocket called out, her eyes wide finding Linda's clothes feeling shaky, thinking something bad had happened to her soulmate feeling tears sting her eyes, curling up into a furry ball, with her purple mohawk poking out as Rocket understood as she told him through sniffles making Howard face-palm.
"She's not gone or hurt, she's playing her favourite game." he told her, making Shocket confused following her uncle to the pomd, making Linda surprised seeing Shocket freaked out.
"Alright Linda, stop pretending to be an normal duck, Shockie was worried about you." Howard told her, his tone serious seeing Linda come out feeling Shocket hug her tight not caring if she got wet relieving Rocket, hoping Linda had not given Shocket ideas.
"I should've told her, that I like pretending to be an normal duck when my dad and I go to the park, it helps me connect to my inner duck, it helps me feel normal." Linda said softly to him making Casey understand, knowing Shocket might copy knowing she saw Terran raccoons in the trees, wanting to play with them knowing how Rocket would react knowing she had that on her mind, so could ask Ranger and Riley when they got home seeing one of those kits who were male coming over to them, making Shocket curious.
"Hey, the name's Bandit, you look awesome, what's your name." he asked Shocket.
"Shocket Melissa Raccoon, oh and that's my cuz, Casey and my soulmate, Linda." she to,d him.
Rocket was stunned at this, making Howard shake his feathery head, knowing it was okay for Shocket to have a friend that was her species, stopping him before he embrassed Shocket seeing Linda agree, he was cool with Peach and Raya who were Casey's raccoon besties so should be cool with Bandit.
"Why's your daddy so fired up after you got back from the park." Lylla asked.
"Probably because of my friend, Bandit who's a raccoon like me and Casey but dad looked upset like when uncle Quill teases him." Shocket told her.
It was early-evening and Shocket was in pyjamas playing with Quacker and other toys in her room when Lylla had came in, overhearing Rocket talking to Ranger and Riley about the male kit Shocket had talked to at the park, knowing Shocket and Linda were soulmates which wouldn't change.
"Rockie relax, it's fine that Shocket has a friend her age and species." she told Rocket.
"I know that, but he might be a bad influence on her, he might be in a gang." he told her seeing her shoot him a look, Bandit was just a little kit like Casey and Shocket no way was he doing the things that were running through Rocket's mind.
"It's sweet you care about her, she can handle herself." she told him.
