The circular door opened and we saw that the entire academy was inside a giant glass dome and there was a giant spiral tower in the centre of the dome. Around the main dome they were in there was six smaller domes connected by glass walkways and each of those six domes had multiple smaller domes connected to them as well that Azrael, Bruce and Alice figured were the dorms for all the students. They looked to the right and saw other students coming from two other circular doors, these students looked to be one and two years older than them, so they learned that they were the second and third year students. They continued to follow Janine until they reached the entrance of the spiral tower were all the students came together to meet up with three other teachers.
"Welcome Students to Abyss Academy. My name is Janine Steelion the head of the green class, this is Appsro Higginson he is in charge of the blue class and this is Bart Savage he will be in charge of the red class. So, if any of you have some questions or if someone is giving you trouble come see one of us. Now it's time for you to settle down into your new dorms, all dorms on the left of the school are for the boys and the dorms on the right are for the girls. The one closest to us is for the first year students, the one furthest from us on the other side of the academy will be for the third year students and the ones in between will be for the second year students. Now everyone, head off two your dorms, remember class doesn't start until tomorrow. The staff around you will take certain groups to their dorms. Follow them and a teacher will arrive to explain todays coming activities." Janine explained.
"Well, I guess we will see you later Alice. Come by later if you want." Azrael said.
"Sure thing, as soon as I finish unpacking, I'll come by. See you later." Alice said. Then Bruce and Azrael walked to the left with the other boys and Alice went right with the other girls. Once the boys all reached their dorm, they came across their supervisor in front of yet another circular door.
"Welcome boys to your new home for the next three years. My name is Appsro Higginson and I will be your dorm supervisor. I'm in charge of making sure you all do your best and take care of yourselves and your rooms properly you should now that every day I will be checking your rooms for any signs of rule breaking and or heinous/inappropriate activities, now follow me and take a seat when we get inside." Appsro said.
Everyone then followed Mr. Higginson inside and they saw five rows of tables in front of a kitchen with many chefs working hard and all around them they saw at least 40 circular doors with small panels and they saw one door at the end of the room with a sign that said supervisor above the door. The boys then took their seats and listened to Appsro.
"Alright listen up everyone and I will explain how your rooming arrangements have been laid out. Each of you has been paired up for each room and each of these rooms has a security panel that will require a handprint scan to open and I will allow you to input your hand scans into the machine once everyone has been assigned a room. Now when I call your names you will stand up and walked to the room, we have assigned you to. If you have any questions I will be in my office at the end of the dorm. Finally, after you unpack you are free to walk around the academy, but I need everyone back here at 4pm exactly because we are having our Welcoming Ceremony." Appsro said.
After most was called up Azrael and Bruce got called up together and they walked to their room's entrance. After they got into their rooms they looked around and saw that their room was (big shock) circular with a kitchen of their own with a small table, television on the other side of the room with a large lounge with a rug underneath it and near the windows are stairs going up the wall to a second floor. (Just imagine that the dorm is the multipurpose room from Subnautica but bigger)
"This place is pretty sick you got to admit." Bruce said clearly impressed.
"Yeah, I agree. So, after we unpack what do you want to do?" Azrael asked.
"How about we duel? Let's see if I can beat that Synchro of yours." Bruce said determined.
"Yes, let's see if you can, but first let's check out our rooms." Azrael said.
They both then headed up the stairs to check out their rooms. Once they reached the top of the stairs, they saw two beds next to each other and a smaller room that took up about a quarter of the second floor. Azrael then chose the bed furthest from the stairs while Bruce chose the other and they unpacked their bags into the drawers located underneath their beds. After they finished, they saw a button on the wall.
"Hey. What does that button do?" Bruce asked curiously.
Azrael then pushed the button and was amazed by what he saw. Two windows then opened up and showed the ocean floor outside and there was all kinds of ocean plants and sea creatures swimming around. After that they headed downstairs to grab their duel disks and decks.

Azrael and Bruce then jumped in surprise as they heard a buzzing sound coming from the door. They turned to the door and saw there was a small pad next to it that had a picture of a phone on it.
"I'll get it." Bruce said. He walked to the door and touched the screen, then he saw Mr. Higginson.
"Hello boys. There are two girls at the dorm entrance and one of them claims to know you two. Do you know them and should I let them in?" Mr. Higginson asked. The bottom half of the screen then changed to show Alice with another girl, she had dark skin, black hair and a green uniform on.
"We know the one in red, but we don't know the one in green. Send them in." Azrael said.
"Very well boys. Girls you may enter. Your friends are in Room 8." Mr. Higginson said. He then pressed a button and they saw the girls enter the dorm and they then heard a knock on the door.
"Thank you, Mr Higginson." Azrael said as Bruce hung up and opened the door.
"Hey Alice, who is your friend?" Azrael asked.
"Hey Azrael, this is my new friend and roommate Michelle Momonga." Alice said happily.
"It's nice to meet you Azrael and Bruce. If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you." Michelle said calmly. She then ran up and got right in Azrael's face with a giant smile and wide eyes.
"HOWDIDYOUGETTHATSYNCHROMONSTER? WHENARETHEYHITTINGTHESTORES? DOYOUKNOWWHENICANGETASYNCHROMONSTEROFMYOWN?" Michelle said loud and fast.
"UHHHHHHHHHHHHH….." Azrael said very awkwardly as his eyes were looking at Bruce and Alice to ask for help, but all he saw was Bruce covering his mouth with his hand, trying not to make his laugh heard. While Alice just stood there with her hand over her eyes and sighed in embarrassment. She then walked up behind Michelle from behind and pulled Michelle away from Azrael.
"I'm sorry about her Azrael, she always gets like this whenever she hears about new duelling cards." Alice said embarrassed.
"It's fine Alice and as to your questions Michelle, I got my Synchro Monster from Pegasus after I won a contest and he told me if we are lucky the Synchro Monsters should be here in a year." Azrael said then she got up in his face again.
"YOU GOT TO MEET THE PEGASUS? Oh, and I'm sorry for my behaviour." Michelle said disappointed in herself as she backed away from Azrael again.
"It's okay Michelle. Hey, we were just heading outside to duel. Would you like to join us?" Bruce said.
"I would love to. Actually, I was wondering if I could duel one of you. So how about it?" Michelle asked looking at Azrael and Bruce.
"I was hoping to duel Azrael, but I'll accept your challenge, Michelle." Bruce said.
Everyone then headed to the main dome where they found a nice flat and empty area. Michelle and Bruce then activated their duel disks.
"DUEL" They both said.

"I'll go first I Draw. I activate Graceful Charity now I Draw 3 cards and discard 2. Now I summon Speed Bird in Defence Mode." Bruce said.

Then a pterodactyl appeared on his field with its wings crossed.
"I place 1 card face-down and end my turn." Bruce said.

"Not bad. I Draw and I summon Sentry Soldier of Stone in Attack Mode." Michelle said.

Then a giant rock monster with stone armour and two giant axes appeared.
"Now my soldier will attack your Speed Bird with stone cutter." Michelle said.
Her sentry then threw both of its axes at Bruce's Speed Bird causing it to explode.
"Thanks for that. Now I activate Speed Bird's ability. When this card is destroyed in battle I can summon 2 Level 2 monsters from my graveyard, so I summon Simorgh, Brid of Bringing and Shield Wind both in Defence Mode." Bruce said.

"Next I activate Quick-Play Spell Revitalization from my hand which allows me to summon back my Speed Bird in Defence Mode." Bruce said.
The card showed and white dragon with a black bird resting on its shoulder next to a white waterfall watching a white manticore flying near them.

"Oh, so that's the reason he played Graceful Charity. So, he could get his 2 Level 2 monsters in the Graveyard." Azrael explained.
"You mean he planned that? I thought he just wanted a new card." Alice asked.
"He obviously wanted another card, but Bruce knew that Speed Bird would be destroyed and it's what he wanted. So, he sent those two monsters to the Graveyard to immediately double his defence later on and thanks to that revitalization spell card he managed to triple his defence instead. So, he managed to summon 3 monsters for the price of nothing, I'm impressed." Azrael explained.
"Oh, I get it know." Alice said.
"Not bad Bruce. Not bad at all. I place 3 cards face-down and end my turn." Michelle said.

"Alright I draw. I sacrifice Simorgh, Bird of Bringing and Speed Bird to Tribute Summon Simorgh, Bird of Ancestry in Attack Mode." Bruce said.

"And now I activate his special ability. You see when I Tribute summon him using only Wind Attribute monsters, I can return 2 cards on your field to your hand. So, I send your Sentry Soldier of Stone back to your hand." Bruce said.
Michelle's Soldier then glowed bright and a third card appeared in her hand.
"Now I'll send another card to your hand and I choose your face-down card on the left" Bruce said pointing to the said card.
"Before that happens, I'll chain that face-down card, it's the Trap Card Rock Bombardment. With this card I can send 1 Rock-Type monster from my Deck to the Graveyard and deal you 500 points of damage. So, I send Revival Golem to the Graveyard and you can say goodbye to 500 of your Life Points." Michelle said.
Her trap card then turned into a giant catapult with a large boulder on it. The catapult then sent the boulder flying at Bruce, which then blew apart mid-air and all the fragments began to shower Bruce.

"Next, I activate the ability of the Revival Golem in my Graveyard. When it is sent form my deck to my Graveyard, I can summon it to the field. Rise Revival Golem." Michelle said as creature made of mud with big muscles and glowing veins appeared.

"Well done. Now I attack. Simorgh, Bird of Ancestry attack Revival Golem." Bruce said.
Simorgh, Bird of Ancestry then flew into the air and opened its wings and released a yellow wind wave with golden sparkles which melted away Revival Golem.
"I place 2 cards face-down and end my turn." Bruce said.

"My turn, Draw. I summon Sentry Soldier of Stone in Attack Mode again." Michelle said.

"And then by removing Revival Golem 4 from play I can Special Summon Megarock Dragon." Michelle said as a giant dragon mad completely out of stone.

"Why are its ATK and DEF question marks?" Alice asked.
"Because they haven't been determined yet. You see Alice, when a monster with ATK and/or DEF with question marks is used, the monster's ability determines the original ATK and/or DEF." Bruce said.
"Exactly. So, since I banished Revival Golem, Megarock Dragon's original ATK and DEF become 700 multiplied by Revival Golem's Level which is 4. So Megarock Dragon's original ATK and DEF become 2800." Michelle said.
Megarock Dragon 7 (?,?) – 7 (2800,2800)
"Megarock Dragon attack Shield Wing with Earthquake Eradication." Michelle said.
Megarock Dragon then pushed itself up with its two front legs before slamming them down to the ground causing the ground to crack apart. The cracks then headed towards Shield Wing and when they reached Shield Wing a giant stone appeared below it and tried to run it through which caused it to explode, or so Michelle thought. To her surprise when the smoke cleared Shield Wing remained unfazed.
"What happened? How did his Shield Wing survive?" Michelle asked herself quietly and confused.
"Sentry Soldier of Stone attack his Shield Wing with Stone Cutter." Michelle declared.
Sentry Soldier then through its two axes at Shield Wing but they just bounced off it like a tennis ball bouncing off a brick wall covered in rubber.
"I don't understand. How did your Shield Wing survive both my attacks?" Michelle asked frustrated.
"My Shield Wings ability lets it survive two attacks each turn." Bruce said with a grin.
"I guess I'll just end my turn." Michelle said.

"Both of them are doing very well. But Michelle has made a big mistake." Azrael said.
"Yeah. Megarock Dragon isn't strong enough to take down Ancestry. Not mention that her Sentry is still in attack mode. Michelle has left herself quite vulnerable." Alice said.
"Alright I Draw. I summon Simorgh, Bird of Beginning." Bruce said.
Simorgh, Bird of Beginning 1 (0,1600)
"No attack points? I'm guessing your monster has a special ability?" Michelle asked.
"Correct when my Bird of Beginning is face-up on the field I'm allowed to Normal Summon again this turn as long as the monster has Simorgh in its name. So, I sacrifice my Shield Wing and my Bird of Beginning to Tribute Summon Simorgh, Bird of Divinity." Bruce said.

Now Simorgh, Bird of Ancestry attack Megarock Dragon and Simorgh and Bird of Divinity attack Sentry Soldier of Stone." Bruce declared.
Both birds then flew straight at their respective targets, but just as they were about to ram their targets both birds disappeared and then Bruce looked down to see two face-down monsters on his field.
"What happened to my birds?" Bruce asked completely confused.
"They were switched face-down. Thanks to the Trap Card Quaking Mirror Force. When your monster declares an attack, this card changes all your monsters that are in attack mode to face-down defence mode and thanks to my trap you can't change their modes either." Michelle said.
"Ah, so she was baiting him with two weaker monsters in attack mode, so she could trick him into charging at him with everything he could so she could cripple him completely." Azrael said.
"I end my turn." Bruce said.

"My turn. I Draw. I activate the Trap Card Blast with Chain and equip it to give my Megarock Dragon 500 extra attack points." Michelle said.
A giant rocket appeared on the back of Megarock Dragon's neck and a chain wrapped the rocket around it.

"Now Megarock Dragon attack Simorgh, Bird of Ancestry." Michelle said.
Megarock Dragon then lowered its neck and the rocket launched itself. Simorgh, Bird of Ancestry then flipped face-up and it appeared holding its wings in front of its body.
"Not so fast, I activate Negate Attack. Sorry Michelle but this trap automatically ends the battle phase." Bruce said.
"This is quite the even match. They're keeping knocking each other down but they can't seem knock each other out." Azrael said.
"I know, but this duel will go on all afternoon if one of them doesn't deal a critical blow soon." Alice said.
"Have some faith in your friends Alice. Sooner or later one of them will find a way to achieve that extra step." A woman said as Azrael and Alice turned around to see Janine Steelion.
"Oh, hey Janine. What are you doing here?" Azrael said.
"I actually came to talk to you Azrael, but since your friends are duelling, I'll wait. And by the way please call me Ms. Steelion." Janine said.
"I end my turn." Michelle said.

"Alright I Draw. I activate my Pot of Greed. I sacrifice my face down Simorgh, Bird of Divinity and Simorgh, Bird of Ancestry to Tribute Summon Simorgh, Lord of the Storm." Bruce said.

"Next, I activate the Trap Card Wings of Misdirection. Since I only control one monster and I have no other Spells/Traps I can increase my monster's ATK by 800 and not only that all your face-up cards are negated." Bruce said.
"What?" Michelle said.

"Finally, I activate the Equip Spell Follow Wind which give my Lord of the Storm 300 ATK points." Bruce said.

"Now Simorgh, Lord of the Storm attack Megarock Dragon with Master Hurricane." Bruce said.
Simorgh, Lord of the Storm then flew up and began to fly in a circle with increasing speeds. A tornado then began to form around Megarock Dragon and it began to rise off the ground.
"Not so fast I activate the Trap…..Huh? What happened?" Michelle said as her trap card disintegrates before it even rises.
"Wings of Misdirection has another effect. When this Trap is activated, you can't activate a facedown card this turn." Bruce said.
Simorgh, Lord of the Storm then flew right towards them and crashed its wings into them destroying them.
Michelle's LP: 4000 – 0 LP

"Well done, Bruce. You managed to find a way to completely break down Michelle's defences and prevent her from putting up anymore." Janine said.
"Thank you, Ms. Steelion." Bruce said.
"You did good as well Michelle. Next time try using cards that have more effects next time. While your moves are effective, they are a bit shallow. You need to be able to do more with your effects. I'd recommend cards that have effects that activate from the graveyard. You too Bruce, you might have found a way to break down Michelle's plan you still suffered from the same problem." Janine explained to the both of them.
"Thank you for your advice, Ms. Steelion. I'll take that into consideration when adding to my Deck." Michelle said.
"Now Azrael, I came to apologize for my behaviour at the entrance exams. You were right I shouldn't blame you for something you didn't do. I hope you can accept my apology." Janine said.
"Don't sweat it Ms. Steelion. It's like you said you were just concerned for the safety of the other students and I can't get angry at that." Azrael said.
"Speaking of which, you should know that I asked the admiral if I could keep an eye on you. While I don't blame you for your father's crimes anymore, I still can't deny the fact you are his son, so you have the same potential to cause trouble as he did." Janine said slightly bitterly.
"I understand. You have a job to keep the students safe and I could become a threat I get it. But there's something you haven't told me isn't there?" Azrael asked.
"Yeah. As you know your father kidnapped many children for his experiments… one of them was my son. His name was John and he was only six years old when he went missing one day. Even after his arrest the police never found his body. They had to conclude he was dead, but I still want to believe he's alive somewhere out there." Janine said with tears in her eyes.
"John Steelion that's where I know that name." Azrael said.
"You met my son?" Janine said.
"No, I only heard my father say his name once." Azrael said.
"Oh." Janine said.
"So, you thought by preventing me from entering the school you could have the closest thing to revenge as you could get. I understand and I hope you find your son someday." Azrael said.
"Thank you, Azrael. Now if you guys excuse me, I have some work to do so I'll see you guys tonight." Janine said and then she walked away.
"That was very nice of her. I look forward to learning from her." Alice said smiling.
"Yeah, me to. But can someone tell me who this admiral is because I am just too curious." Bruce said.
"I don't know, but something tells me were going to find out later on." Azrael said.
"Ok. So how about we head back to the dorm for some lunch and some deck tuning." Bruce said.
"Good idea. I picked up some booster packs before we came to your dorm room so let's go." Michelle said.
After that they all headed back to dorm's lunchroom and all grabbed some lunch. After they all grabbed their food Azrael saw another guy sitting by himself looking a little unhappy and he was looking right at him.
"Hey, do any of you know that guy?" Azrael asked.
"Yeah, that's Lance. He went to the same school as me before he left for a prep school." Michelle said.
"Why does that name sound familiar?" Azrael thought.
"What's his last name?" Bruce asked.
"He doesn't have a last name, from what I have heard he's an orphan and he has been an orphan his entire life." Michelle said.
"That sucks. But if he doesn't have any parents, how did he afford to go to a prep school?" Alice asked.
"The orphanage he must have lived at must have been very successful to afford that." Azrael said.
Azrael then got up and walked over to Lance and sat in front of him to Lance's displeasure.
"What do you want punk?" Lance said while gritting his teeth.
"I just wanted to come and say hi. I heard about your past and I wanted to see if I could help you. I know what it's like to have a rough childhood and…" Azrael was saying before Lance got up even angrier than before.
"You know NOTHING about my life. Your childhood was a paradise compared to mine." Lance said with his fists shaking with rage.
"What would you know about my childhood?" Azrael said angrily after he got up as well.
"I don't have to tell you anything." Lance said.
Lance then got all his things and walked back to his room before the door shut behind him. Azrael then walked back to his friends.
"What is that guy's problem?" Azrael wondered.
"Who knows? He had a rough childhood, but that still doesn't explain why he would be mad at you. But what did he mean by your life being a paradise in comparison? Maybe we should ask his roommate, he might know something." Bruce recommended.
"No chance. Remember Lance went to school with me. He was quite the lone wolf, he didn't trust anybody. He most likely asked to be alone in his room. I never asked. What was your childhood like?" Michelle asked.
Azrael then began to tell Michelle and Alice about his life after his father's arrest.
"Wow. I thought I had a tough childhood thanks to Mason, but that is just brutal. When did you finally decide to learn how to defend yourself?" Alice asked.
"In Year 5. Me and my mother decided after me getting beat up for three years we had had enough. Now I could fight three fully grown men with one hand tied behind my back." Azrael said proudly.
"Attention all students. The Welcome Ceremony will be starting in 30 minutes. Please report to your dorm domes so your supervisor can escort you to the Central Duel Arena." Said Jasmine over the intercom.
"Alright guys we'll see you guys later at the ceremony." Alice said.
Alice and Michelle then got all their stuff and went back to their dorms and as they were leaving the other first year guys were walking inside. After 15 minutes of waiting everybody else was sitting at the tables waiting for Mr. Higginson and after another 5 minutes he came from his office.
"Alright everyone listen up. Let's make this quick and we can get moving. The Welcome Ceremony will begin in 10 minutes, so everyone will form a line from the table closest to the door from the left to the right and follow me to the central duel arena. Now let's go." Appsro said while walking to the door.
After another 5 minutes of walking, they entered and sat down around the duel arena. They both sat next to Alice and Michelle as they waited for the ceremony to begin. The lights then went out and a few spotlights lit up the field and a man with a sailor's hat, a white and green shirt with a brown and gold pirate coat and white pants walked up to the field with a microphone.
"Yar me hearties, welcome to Abyss Academy. I am your principal, but I would prefer if you called me admiral, Admiral Drake. It's been my lifelong dream to run a duel school of my own and with all your help my dream has finally become a reality so to celebrate I have arranged a welcome duel between the two best duellists who scored the highest score on their written exams and did the best in the practical exams. The first duellist is quite the powerhouse whose monsters can work together like you wouldn't believe. He got 92% on his written and even managed to defeat the great Blue Eyes White Dragon, it's Azrael Vortex." Admiral Drake said.
A spotlight then turned on and shined a bright light right on top of Azrael which caused him to widen his eyes in surprise. Bruce, Alice and Michelle all looked at Azrael with surprised eyes as well.
"Wait, me? I know I got a high score on my written exam, but I didn't expect to get in the top 2." Azrael said very surprised.
"And the second duellist is one of the most intimidating I have ever met. He got a 96% on his written exams and managed to win his entrance duel in one turn, it's Lance." The Admiral said.
A second spotlight then turned on and shined upon Lance who just looked at Azrael with an angry face. Both duellists then got up and took their places on the arena.
"Before we start. Is there any point in me asking what all that anger from before was about?" Azrael asked.
"You want to know why I hate you, it's because you got to just walk away at the end." Lance said with anger still in his voice while pointing at him.
"At the end of what?" Azrael asked clearly confused.
"Alright boys. This is the first duel in the history of this school, so let's make it a great one. I expect nothing but the best from both of you. Are you both ready?" Admiral Drake asked.
"Yes sir." Both duellists said in unison.
"Lance will get the first move and begin." Admiral Drake announced.
"DUEL." Both Azrael and Lance said in unison.

"Let's do this I Draw. I activate the Spell, Pot of Greed. Next, I play the Spell, The Cheerful Coffin with this card I can send up to 3 monsters from my hand to the Graveyard. So, from my hand I send Goblin Zombie and Plague Wolf to the Graveyard." Lance said.
"That's weird." Bruce said.
"What's weird?" Michelle said.
"Why would Lance send two monsters to the Graveyard for nothing? He didn't even gain anything from doing that, he didn't get new cards from his Deck or Life Points and the two monsters he sent to the Graveyard don't have any effects that activate from the Graveyard." Bruce explained.
"Why would you send two monsters to the Graveyard if it doesn't give you any advantage?" Azrael asked.
"Because it allows me to play my favourite Spell. I activate Dreaded Fusion." Lance said with a grin on his face.
The Spell showed a black, winged silhouette surrounded by swirling dark energy while covered in purple glowing cracks.
"Dreaded Fusion? What on earth is that? I've heard of a lot of Fusion Spells before, but that's a new one." Azrael said.
"Dreaded Fusion is a card that allows me to banish DARK Zombie and Fiend monsters in my Graveyard in order to form a Fusion Monster. I banish Goblin Zombie and Plague Wolf. Prepare to face the underworld's deadliest dragon. I Fusion Summon Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon." Lance said.

"Yes, it left the proctor shaking in fear, just like you will be as soon as we finish you off. In the meantime, I place 1 card face down and end my turn." Lance said.

"My turn. I Draw. What did he mean when he said I just got to walk away at the end? Maybe if I can beat him in this duel, he will tell me. I summon the Tuner monster Deep Sea Diva." Azrael said.

"Okay seriously, does anyone know how many Tuner monsters Azrael has?" Alice asked.
"Azrael told me that when Pegasus visited him, he gave him half a Deck of new cards." Bruce said.
"When Deep Sea Diva is Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon one level 3 or lower sea serpent type monster from my Deck to the field. So, I summon Atlantean Heavy Infantry in Defence Mode." Azrael said.
Atlantean Heavy Infantry 2 (0,1600)
"And thanks to my Heavy Infantry's effect I'm allowed to Normal Summon again as long as the monster I summon is a level 4 or lower Sea Serpent Type monster. I summon Armed Sea Hunter." Azrael said.

"Next, I tune my Level 2 Deep Sea Diva with my Level 2 Atlantean Heavy Infantry and my Level 4 Armed Sea Hunter. Now witness as the inhabitants of the ocean combine their power to summon forth the ocean's ultimate guardian. I Synchro Summon Hope Diamond Dragon." Azrael said.

"I activate my dragon's effect when it is successfully Synchro Summoned, I can banish 1 of its Synchro Materials to give its effect to my dragon. So I banish Armed Sea Hunter to power up my dragon. Next, I active Hope Diamond's effect, once per turn I can target one card on the field and block its effect until the next Standby Phase. I choose your facedown card. Go Electrolysed Lockdown" Azrael said.
Hope Diamond's eyes then glowed blue and water then spread all over Lance's facedown card before blue lightning started dancing around the card.
"Now I play the Spell Card Geyser Striker, with this card I can increase the ATK points of my dragon by 1000." Azrael said.
Hope Diamond Dragon 8 (2500,2000) – 8 (3500,2000)
"Hope Diamond Dragon attack Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon." Azrael said.
Hope Diamond Dragon then fired a blue beam at Nethersoul Dragon ripping a hole right through it and blowing it up.

(Quick Note: I know Nethersoul's effect activates whenever it battles, not just when it attacks, but for me it was too easy for me to forget that fact. So, consider this effect its anime effect).
"I place three cards facedown and end my turn. Which means Geyser Striker's effect ends and Hope Diamond Dragon's ATK points return to normal." Azrael said.

"It's my turn. I Draw and my facedown is free. Next, I activate Dreaded Fusion's other effect." Lance said.
"Wait Dreaded Fusion has another effect?" Azrael said.
"When it is in my Graveyard, I can banish it from my Graveyard and return banished Fusion Material monsters to Fusion Summon a Fusion Monster from my Graveyard. I return Goblin Zombie and Plague Wolf to my Graveyard in order to fuse them together again to Fusion Summon Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon back from the Graveyard." Lance said.

"This isn't good." Azrael said.
"You'll need to fight harder if you want to get rid of my Nethersoul Dragon. Nethersoul Dragon attack Hope Diamond Dragon with Soul Devouring Slash." Lance commanded.
Nethersoul flew right at Hope Diamond and slashed it with both its claws and a blue aura flew out of the slash marks and it turned into a blue glowing gaseous ball which floated in its left hand.

"What happened to my dragon's ATK points and why wasn't it destroyed?" Azrael asked.
"When Nethersoul Dragon attacks a monster, whose Level is equal to its original Level it isn't destroyed, instead its ATK points drop to 0 and I get to summon a Dark Soul Token with a Level and ATK points equal to the original Level and ATK of the monster my dragon attacked." Lance said.
The blue gaseous ball then turned purple and morphed into a tiny version of Nethersoul dragon.

"This is going to hurt." Azrael exclaimed.
"Dark Soul Token attack Hope Diamond Dragon." Lance demanded.
Dark Soul Token unleashed a powerful beam that was the same colour as the aura that Nethersoul Dragon stole from Hope Diamond Dragon which destroyed it.

"Let me guess you figured out my plan." Azrael said.
"Of course, I did. Did you really think I would be stupid enough to fall for a trick like that?" Lance said.
"Does anyone know what Lance is talking about what was Azrael's plan?" Michelle said.
"He's talking about Armed Sea Hunter's effect. When Armed Sea Hunter attacks an effect monster while there is another WATER monster on its side of the field that monster's effects are negated even while it's in the Graveyard." Bruce said.
"Wait. Armed Sea Hunter has another ability that allows it to destroy another Level 3 or lower Sea Serpent Type monster if it would be destroyed. So why wouldn't he use that?" Alice asked.
"He probably thought it would be better to save it for his Boiling Point Trap since it wasn't that hard to get Hope Diamond back." Bruce said.
"I place 2 cards face-down and end my turn." Lance said.

"I Draw. I activate the Spell Card Graceful Charity, so I Draw 3 cards as long as I put 2 in the drink. Next, I play the Spell Card Pot of Greed. Then I'll play the Spell Card Salvage, with this card I can add 2 water monsters with 1500 or less ATK points from my Graveyard to my hand. So, I add Deep Sea Diva and Atlantean Heavy Infantry to my hand, next I summon Atlantean Heavy Infantry." Azrael said.

"And thanks to his special effect I can summon Deep Sea Diva and thanks to her ability I can Special Summon Legendary Atlantean Tridon from my Deck." Azrael said.

"I activate Tridon's effect which means I can Tribute him and another Sea Serpent Type monster like Heavy Infantry to Special Summon Poseidra, The Atlantean Dragon directly from my Deck and all your monsters lose 300 ATK points." Azrael said.

"And since Tridon's effect sent Heavy Infantry to the Graveyard Heavy Infantry's other effect activates. When it is sent to the graveyard to activate a WATER monster's effect it lets me destroy one face-up card on your side of the field and I choose Nethersoul Dragon." Azrael said.
A purple portal then appeared on the ground and Atlantean Heavy Infantry then jumped out and joined his two half shields together on his right arm and threw his shield at Nethersoul Dragon before falling back into the portal.
"Not going to happen, I activate the Counter Trap Dark Illusion, when you activate a Spell, Trap or monster effect that targets a DARK monster on my field this card completely shuts it down." Lance said.
Nethersoul Dragon then flew into the air leaving behind a translucent copy of himself. Heavy Infantry's shield then flew and just shredded the illusion leaving Nethersoul Dragon unharmed.
"I activate the Spell, Monster Reborn and summon back Hope Diamond Dragon." Azrael said as his roared as it rose from the depths.
Hope Diamond Dragon 8 (2500,2000)
"I activate Hope Diamond's effect and with it I can select one card on the field and its effect can't be activated until your next standby phase, I chose your facedown card on your left." Azrael said.
Hope Diamond's eyes glowed and Lance's face-down card on the left was then surrounded in a rectangular prism of water before the prism was covered in blue lightning.
"Next I activate my facedown card, the Trap Card Boiling Point." Azrael said.
This trap showed Heavy Infantry and Gallis the Star Beast, each one surrounded in a sphere of boiling water.
"This Trap lets me destroy a WATER monster on my field in order to take 1 of your cards down with it. So, I'll destroy Deep Sea Diva and Nethersoul Dragon." Azrael said.
Boiling water then began to surround them both.
"Don't think so I play my Trap, Dark Delusion." Lance said.
The trap showed Mirage Dragon with a purple aura around its head attacking a confused Black Luster Soldier that was standing next to an equally confused Kuriboh.
"When an effect targets a DARK monster on my field this Trap allows me to switch the target to another of my DARK monsters. So, your Trap destroys my Token instead." Lance said.
Nethersoul Dragon and Dark Soul Token then teleported and swapped places with each other. Then the spheres of water trapped Diva and Dark Soul Token and then boiled for a few seconds before they exploded.
"This is getting annoying." Azrael said.
"And since my Token was destroyed, I can Draw 1 card thanks to Dark Delusion's effect." Lance said.
"I activate the Trap Card, High Tide Reserves." Azrael said.
This Trap showed two cards washing up on a beach.
"With this card I can Draw 1 card for every Level 5 or higher WATER monster on my field, which means I Draw 2 cards. Poseidra attack Nethersoul Dragon with Atlantean Roar." Azrael said.
Poseidra then roared then unleashed a blue beam from its mouth and destroyed Nethersoul.

"Next up, Hope Diamond Dragon attacks you directly with Hydro Volution." Azrael said.
Then Hope Diamond Dragon flew up and brought its wings close to its body before opening them up really quick and then three spiralling streams of water erupted from each wing which crashed right into Lance knocking him off his feet.

"I end my turn." Azrael said.

"I'm up and I Draw. Since it's my Standby Phase my Trap card is free so play my last facedown card, the Trap Limit Impulse. By sending the 2 cards in my hand to the Graveyard I can summon 2 Soul Tokens in Defence Mode." Lance said.

"Next, I activate Zombie Dealer's effect from my Graveyard. By banishing this card and the Zombie Master I just discarded I can Draw 1 card." Lance said.
A zombie in a torn up purple tuxedo then appeared and fired a beam at Lance's Deck causing it to glow purple for a second before he drew a card.
"Next, I play the Spell Card Small Sacrifice. Since I have at least 2 Level 2 or lower monsters I can destroy all Level 2 or lower monsters on my field so I can Special Summon a high level monster from my Graveyard." Lance said.
The card showed Nethersoul Dragon's hands coming up from the ground while squeezing a Ritual Raven and Vendread Core in each one.
"Again?" Azrael said.
"Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon rise form beyond the grave." Lance said as Nethersoul Dragon clawed its way from under the field and roared.

"No matter what I do it keeps returning from the dead." Azrael said.
"Small Sacrifice also lets me Draw 1 card. Nethersoul Dragon attack Poseidra with Soul Devouring Slash." Lance said.
Nethersoul flew right at Poseidra and slashed its neck with both its right claws causing him to explode.
Azrael: 1000 – 800 LP
"Lucky for you, since Nethersoul was summoned with Small Sacrifice it can't use its ability this turn. Luckily for me I have this card in my hand, the Quick-Play Spell Soul Thief." Lance said.
This Spell showed Nethersoul stealing the soul of Isodle, Belle of the Underworld from her.
"When my monster destroys your monster in battle, I can banish a DARK Zombie or Fiend-Type monster from my Graveyard and in exchange my dragon gains 200 ATK points and can attack again. So, I banish Plague Wolf so Nethersoul Dragon can attack Hope Diamond Dragon." Lance said.

Nethersoul charged and slashed Hope Diamond apart and sending Azrael crashing into the ground.
Azrael: 800 – 100 LP
"Azrael are you okay?" Alice asked worried.
"SHUT UP." Lance shouted.
He began to glow purple and his eyes began to glow purple with the DARK symbol glowing white over his heart as he got even angrier than before and began growling.
"What's happening to him?" Michelle said clearly scared.
"How dare you defend such a monster after all the suffering he caused me and the others. As soon as I'm done with him you and your friends are next." Lance said.
"STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THEM." Azrael shouted as he was getting back up.
When Azrael got to his feet, he began to glow blue and his eyes also began to glow white with WATER symbol glowing white over his heart as he also got angrier.
"Azrael too!" Bruce said surprised.
"Janine what's happening to them?" Admiral Drake asked.
"How should I know?" Janine said.
"IF YOU LAY A SINGLE FINGER ON THEM, I'LL RIP YOU APART. I activate my Trap Card Torrential Reborn, when any number of my WATER monsters are destroyed this card brings them all back and you take 500 points of damage for each monster." Azrael said angrily.
A giant waterfall then began to fall from a purple portal in the air behind Azrael and a big stream of water then shot at Lance and knocked on his back.
Lance: 800 – 300 LP
When Lance hit the ground, he stopped glowing and just stayed on the ground not moving like he was knocked out before Hope Diamond Dragon emerged from the waterfall.

"Is he down for the count?" Bruce asked.
After a few more seconds Lance then quickly opened his eyes to reveal that they were still glowing purple and he began to glow purple again as he got up.
"On my next turn I'll finish you off." Lance said.

"YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANOTHER TURN. YOU THREATENED THE ONLY FRIENDS I'VE EVER HAD AND FOR THAT YOU WILL FEEL THE FULL FORCE OF MY WRATH. Hydro Draw." Azrael said as he drew hid final card.
"What's this Hydro Draw?" Alice asked.
"No clue." Michelle said.
"Same here." Bruce said.
"I activate the Equip Spell Aquatic Brotherhood." Azrael said.
This card showed Poseidra, Citadel Whale and Levia-Dragon - Daedalus roaring together in an underwater arena.
"With this card I can choose 1 Level 5 or higher WATER monster in my Graveyard and Hope Diamond Dragon gains all of its ATK points and I choose Poseidra, The Atlantean Dragon." Azrael said.
The spirit of Poseidra appeared behind Hope Diamond before it exploded into blue particles that flew into Hope Diamonds mouth causing it to glow ocean blue.
Hope Diamond Dragon 8 (2500,2000) – 8 (5300,2000)
"5300 ATK points?" Lance said surprised.
"The downside is that once this turn is over Aquatic Brotherhood will be destroyed and all Hope Diamond's power will be taken out of my Life Points, but it's a good thing that you won't survive this attack. Hope Diamond Dragon finish off Lance and Nethersoul. HYDRO VOLUTION." Azrael shouted.
Once last time, Hope Diamond Dragon flew up and launched his many water streams from its wings that rushed towards Nethersoul.
"If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me. I banish the Spell Soul Explosion from my Graveyard to activate its effect." Lance said.
This Spell showed 2 Soul Tokens caught in an explosion.
"When your monster destroys my DARK monster, your monster is also destroyed and both of us take the same amount of battle damage." Lance said.
"But that means…." Azrael said.
The water streams tore through Nethersoul causing it to explode. The explosion also engulfed Hope Diamond Dragon causing it to explode as well sending both duellists flying. Lance fell of the duel platform and landed on his back while Azrael was thrown towards the wall causing a crater in the wall.
Azrael: 100 – 0 LP
Lance: 300 – 0 LP
Winner: DRAW
Lance hit the ground with a hard thud and Azrael hit his back against the wall making a small crater in the wall before falling to the ground.
As Azrael and Lance lied on the ground groaning their respective glows began to fade away along with the symbols over their hearts before they passed out.
"It's a draw. I didn't see that coming." Michelle said.
"Forget that we need to need to get down there and help him out." Alice said clearly worried.
Alice, Michelle and Bruce then ran down to the arena and surrounded Azrael and saw that he was waking up.
"Azrael take it easy. Are you okay?" Alice asked very worried for his health.
"Alice? What happened?" Azrael asked before he passed out again.
"He needs to get to the sick bay." Bruce said.
"I'll take him there. You guys grab Lance he needs help too." Alice said.
Alice then began to pick up Azrael and threw his arm over her shoulder and began to walk to the sick bay and was struggling with his weight, while Bruce and Michelle grabbed Lance and took him to the sick bay as well.
Once they reached the sick bay the head nurse then had them put into bed and they were told that they will be fine and that they just have a few bruises on their back from falling on the ground multiple times.
"What are these two? And where did those glows come from?" Bruce asked.
"From what we have been told they were both victims of Azrael's father's crimes. Maybe that had something to do with it." Michelle said.
"Most likely. We need to ask them about this at some point in the future after all it's like Azrael said we don't know the whole story. All I know is that our new school life is going to be crazier than we ever expected." Alice said.
