It was just a little past midnight and Samara had to yawn once again. It was really difficult to keep her attention at the conversation she and the other Winx were having. Samara, Bloom and Stella had told the other three exactly what Faragonda had told them.

"So if I understand this correctly…" Tecna said. "Faragonda wants you three and Layla to go to the place where the pixies were held captive to investigate what this evil force is?"

The three girls nodded.

"But what about us?" Musa asked mad. "We're part of the team as well you know!"

"You can take my place any day." Stella said. "I really don't want to go to some creepy evil place."

"We promised Faragonda that we would go." Bloom said. "And she wanted some of the Winx to stay at Alfea in case something happens when we are gone."

Musa crossed her arms over each other and huffed. "I still don't see why it is us who have to stay behind…"

"I don't mind actually…it all sounds very scary and dangerous to me…" Flora said.

"It isn't logical at all to split us up, we are most powerfull when we are together." Tecna said.

Flora sighed. "This whole thing has given me a headache, I'm off to bed."

"Yeah me too, we have an early class tomorrow." Tecna said.

"At least some of us do." Musa muttered.

Bloom, Stella and Samara looked at each other and decided not to comment.

The other Winx also stood up and said goodnight. Samara closed her door behind her, changed into her pajamas and crawled underneath the blankets. Tomorrow she, Stella, Bloom and Layla will leave Alfea to investigate this evil being. Faragonda seemed very serious and Flora was right, this probably would be very dangerous. But still…Samara liked the idea of being away from the school for a few days. She turned around for a while before falling into a light sleep.

"You don't look too good lad."

Palladium looked up from his breakfast to see Wizgiz look at him with a frown.

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm talking about the pale face and dark circles beneath your eyes."

The elf sighed. "I just had a bad night, that's all."

"Seems like a couple of bad nights to me." Wizgiz kept going. "Something on your mind?"

Palladium shook his head. "Not that I know of."

The leprachaun kept staring at his friend.

"I'll brew a sleeping potion for myself today if that eases your worries." Palladium said.

"It would indeed." Wizgiz said. "Now if you'll excuse me I have to prepare my first lesson."

The yellow man hopped off his seat and walked away. Palladium sighed again. He hadn't slept at all last night. The heartbroken look in Samara's eyes as she realized what the golden light had meant was haunting him. True love…and it would never become real. And on top of that Faragonda had informed the entire staff that a few students were leaving school for a couple days to investigate some evil force, Samara being one of those students. He had stopped by her dorm, only to be informed that they had already left very early.

"Professor?"

Palladium looked up once again to see Faragonda look at him with the same worried expression.

"Yes headmistress?" He asked, trying to sound as normal as possible.

"Everything alright professor?" The woman asked.

"Yes, yes I was just overthinking my next lesson, you know how hard it is to keep the first years interested." He said with a fake laugh.

She seemed to believe him because she gave him a nod and walked on. Palladium grabbed a grapefruit and decided to finish his breakfast in his own chambers.

As soon as he walked in he went to look into the bathroom mirror. Indeed he looked horrible. His eyes were glazed over and framed by dark circles. He started to shake. He tried to move on, really he did. But all this…it was too much. How was he supposed to just ignore the fact that the love he felt for Samara was actually true love? When they were supposed to be ignore that love entirely? And now she was off on a dangerous mission…Tears fell down onto his shirt and he shivered even more, dropping on the floor slowly. His heart clenched painfully in his chest.

"I have to do something…I have to get rid of these emotions…"He muttered to himself.

The recipe of a forgetfullness potion came into his mind. It had the power to make you forget all emotions you have for one specific person. But he needed a hair of that person. Surely he could sneak into her room during classes and find one…

Don't be so ridiculous Palladium! Forgetting about her won't solve your problem! Just man up and get over her!

Palladium winced at the strict voice in his head. The voice of reason. He hoisted himself up and looked into the mirror again. There was a dark spark into his first dull eyes. At that moment, right then and there, something had changed deep within him.
