"Don't forget to read chapter 3 girls!" Avalon said as the schoolbell rang. "We will discuss this next time and I am very eager to hear all of your ideas about the subject."

All the fairies started to pack their things. Samara stuffed everything as quick as possible into her bag. She really wanted to get back to her room. Like she had done ever since they got back from their mission.

"Ah miss Samara, can I have a word please?"

The fairy of the Moon looked up to see professor Avalon standing in front of her.

"Of course." She said, knowing she could not refuse.

Flora looked at her with a worried frown but Samara nodded for her to leave. Samara and Avalon walked towards his desk and the professor motioned her to sit.

"I wanted to speak to you because I am very intrigued." Avalon said.

"Oh, how come?"

Avalon laughed. "Well you are one of a kind aren't you?" "You are the only fairy on your planet since a very very long time." "And on top of that you are the princess of that planet."

He waited for a response but when that didn't come he continued.

"That means that you must be a decendant of the last fairies of Eraklion and there is very little known about them."

Samara tried to seem interested but really wasn't. Why would she care about fairies that lived hundreds of years ago?

"Well of course you know about their connection with the elves that used to live on Eraklion."

Samara's face lit up. "Elves?" "On Eraklion?"

There was a small triumphant glint in Avalon's eyes but Samara missed it.

"I understand that you had no idea?"

"No, I only knew that the fairies were destroyed by orders of the Royal Family hundreds of years ago."

"Indeed they were and the elves of Eraklion were also mostly defeated, some managed to escape from the planet."

The professor opened one of his desk drawers and revealed an old book.

"Here, read this." He said. "It contains everything you would want to know about the history of Eraklion."

"I've never seen this book in the library before…" Samara said.

"It's from my own personal collection." Avalon said. "Read it and let me know if you want to discuss any of it."

"Thank you professor."

She said goodbye and left the classroom. When she walked into the dining room there was excited whispering all around her.

"What's going on?" Samara asked as she sat down.

"Red Fountain is finally opening its doors again." Musa said. "They are having a grand re opening this Saturday!"

"And we're all invited!" Stella shrieked. "There will be a fair and the boys are part of a big show."

A dreamy expression fell over her face. "Could you imagine Brandon in some kind of heroic suit?"

"This can be a perfect oportunity to investigate Red Fountains defense." Tecna whispered. "To check if their part of the Codex is safe enough."

"Good idea Tecna, this will be a perfect cover." Bloom said.

"Let's just hope no one else has the same idea…" Layla sighed.

The rest of the day went by uneventfull and slow. Samara was glad to retreat in her now shared room after diner and closed the door behind her with a content sigh. She threw her bag onto her bed and took Avalons book out of it. She had been dying to read it the whole day. After opening her curtains just enough so the moon could provide enough light to see something, she sat behind her desk and carefully searched through the chapters. The pages were thick and had a yellow color. After skipping four chapters she had found what she was looking for.

Chapter five: The legend of the Elf and Fairy

When Eraklion was still florishing with Magic, Elves were one of many magical creatures to roam the planet. Although their numbers were small considering other packs. They could be found near lakes within the deep forests. The Elves relied on the power of the Moon to harvest their Magic and therefore worshipped the silver orb in the dark blue sky. There was one Elf in particular that seemed more entrailed by her beauty and power than any other.

Salvador was his name and each and every night he would sit on top of a large boulder to stare at the Moon, admiring her beauty. He even started to try and convince the others to show more respect towards her, or even love. This caused the rest of the pack to interfere, saying it was their duty to show respect once a month when she was in full glory but not more than that. Salvador became enraged but was ultimately cast out.

No one knows what happened afterwards. But a month later he returned, more powerfull then ever. A woman accomponied him, a woman with beautifull wings, dark blue as the night sky. She wore a silver dress and had long black hair, adorned with jewels. Her eyes held the beauty of the moon inside them.

The pack of Elves were no more after that night. Speculations have been made and the truth lost long ago, but some claim that that woman was the embodiement of the Moon herself. Salvador somehow managed to create the very first Fairy of the Moon, the love of his life.

Not much later, the war between magical creatures and the Royal Family began and Salvador, together with his love, perished. It is rumoured that they put a curse on the Royal Family just before they were defeated. A member of the Royal Family will inherit the Moon's powers and bring upon them pain and darkness as punishment.

Samara closed the book with a low thud. Hot tears fell down her cheeks. Her hands trembled as she looked at them, pale in the moonlight. So that was it…that was where her powers came from? A dark curse to get back at her family for something that had happened so long ago? The first Fairy of the Moon was created by the love of an Elf…was that the reason why she felt a connection to Palladium…was it all fake?

A sob escaped her lips. She buried her head in her arms and started to cry.

"Are you okay?"

Samara looked up in shock to see Layla enter their room.

"Yeah…yeah I'm fine."

"You sure?"

Samara swallowed hard and faked a smile.

"Yeah just… a sad story I'm reading that's all."

Layla nodded, but it was hard to tell in the dark if it was sincere.

"Alright then, good night."

Samara muttered a response and watched as the other fairy crawled into bed. She stayed like that for well into the night, until finally standing up to close the curtains and stepping into bed herself.
