"So…you think it's true?" Samara asked worried.

"Well I don't see why not." Avalon said. "Everything else in this book is historically accurate." "There is evidence of Elves that lived on Eraklion that had a connection to the moon."

"That means that my powers…are meant for evil?"

Samara could hear her voice tremble.

"Not perse, your powers are your own." Avalon said. "But they do originate from an evil purpose."

Samara stared at the wall behind Avalon's desk in shock.

"But what does this mean?" She asked. "Am I going to wake up one day deciding to destroy my own family?"

Avalon took his time to think, a worried frown on his face. "I think this can be the very reason why your parents dislike you." "They might fear that very idea." "But ultimately it is up to you."

Samara swallowed. "And uhm…"

"Yes?" Avalon asked as he leaned a bit forwards.

"The elves…it was an elf that cursed my family…cursed me…does that mean that there is a certain connection between me and elves?"

Avalon once again took some time to think about the question. Samara could feel her heart beat faster and faster awaiting the answer.

"I believe it is very much possible that the part inside of you that is originated to the moon of Eraklion will somehow recognise an elf as something familiar and therefore latch on." "I would stay clear of professor Palladium if I were you." He added with a smile.

Samara tried to laugh at his joke but wasn't sure it was very convincing. The professor stood up and put a hand on the girls shoulder.

"Don't worry too much about all this." He said sincere. "Your powers are amazing and you can do great things with them." "It doesn't really matter where they come from."

Samara nodded, trying to hold back the tears in her eyes. She turned to leave.

"Wait, don't you want to finish the book?" Avalon asked as he picked said book up from his desk.

"No I'd rather not, but thank you."

Samara opened the door and stepped out of the office. She took a few steps towards the staircase when she heard a voice behind her.

"Samara, what are you doing here?"

She turned around to see Palladium standing in front of his own office across Avalon's. Her heart made a little jump as she caught his eyes.

"I uh…just saw professor Avalon about our assignment." She lied swiftly.

"Oh I see, sorry I was just surprised to see you here." Palladium said.

She noticed a slight blush on his cheeks and felt her own cheeks grow a bit hotter. Did she hear a bit of disappointment in his voice?

"It's okay, I need to get going now though."

She turned around again. "Bye professor."

She heard a faint bye back as she quickly walked out of the corridor, tears stinging in her eyes. She walked down the stairs and went straight outside for some fresh air where she found Musa laying in the grass all by herself.

"Hey there." The fairy of Music said. "Care to join me, I have some news that I am dying to tell someone.

Samara sat down next to her while trying to whipe the tears from her eyes. "Okay, shoot."

Musa's eyes lit up. "So Alfea is hosting a talentshow and guess who is in charge of the acts?"

Samara snickered. "Hhhmm let me think, a fairy with a taste of music perhaps?"

"YES, ME!" Musa screamed excited. "I get to choose the acts and make sure everything is going according to schedule." "And the best part is that I can do a solo."

"That's great, when is it?"

"It's really soon, next weekend already, Faragonda told me she wants to lift everyone's spirit up since…you know…the whole thing on Red Fountain."

Samara nodded slowly, she still felt extremely guilty that she wasn't there to help.

"So uhm, how many acts do you have already?"

"Stella wants to perform a song with dance, Layla will do an epic dance routine and some of the specialists of Red Fountain will perform some kind of ritual dance." Musa counted. "Do you want to do something too?"

The fairy of Music looked at her friend with pleading eyes. Samara hold up her hands in defence.

"Me?!" She said with a high tone. "No believe me you don't want to have me on a stage, I'll freeze instantly."

"Too bad." Musa pouted. "I need at least one more act."

"Sorry that I can't help you…probably for the best though, I'm not in a festive mood anyway."

Samara stared at the grass and felt the warm tears gather in her eyes again. Musa sighed.

"I don't know if this will help but…whenever I'm in a bad mood I find a spot to be alone and get it all out."

"What do you mean get it all out?" Samara asked.

"I start to sing about what's bugging me." Musa said. "If it's about someone else, like Riven or my mom, I picture them in front of me, try to imagine how they would react and put that into words as well."

Samara didn't respond but let Musa's words sink in.

"It sounds more stupid than it is, but you might want to consider it." Musa continued. "And you know you can always talk to me if you want to."

The fairy of Music stood up. "Anyway I need to get going and find someone who wants to participate before we have to head inside."

"Thanks Musa." Samara said.

"No problem, see you later."

Samara watched as Musa walked to the other side of the square where there were more fairies. Most of them had just arrived back at Alfea after spending the day at Magix. Her eyes caught someone else. She saw how Palladium walked through the front doors out of the school and went into the forest with a shoulder bag. Probably to gather ingredients for tomorrows lesson. The sun was setting rapidly, casting an orange glow over the grounds of Alfea. The fairy of the Moon kept looking at the gates through which the elf had just disappeared. Oh how she would want to follow him, if only just to talk to him, listen to what interesting stories he knew about the ingredients he needed to find…

Samara stood up. This was torture. She needed to do something about it. Perhaps Musa's suggestion was worth trying and she knew exactly where to do it.

By the time she reached the rooftop the sun was completely gone and the first stars were visible. The wind had cooled down quite a bit but Samara didn't care. She walked over to the edge of the rooftop and stared at the view. Dark trees formed a big contrast to the purple sky and an even bigger contrast to the pale moon. Her thoughts went back to Palladium. Was he already back from the forest? He hated the dark so he probably already was back right?

She stepped away from the edge and forced herself to focus. Musa said that she would sing about what was bothering her. Sing…that was something the princess of Eraklion almost never did. It was a form of emotion, letting go of control. Nothing for a proper princess. Samara closed her eyes. After a while she started to sing, very very quietly.

You know I want you
But it's a secret I try to hide
I know you want me
But we keep sayin' our hands are tied
They claim it's not in the cards
And fate is pullin' you miles away
And out of reach from me
But you're here in my heart
So who can stop me if I decide
That you're my destiny?

Samara opened her eyes and looked up at the now dark blue sky filled with stars.

What if we rewrite the stars?
Say you were made to be mine
Nothing could keep us apart
You'd be the one I was meant to find
It's up to you, and it's up to me
No one can say what we get to be
So why don't we rewrite the stars?
Maybe the world could be ours
Tonight

A sadness overwhelmed her. For a moment she truly believed her own words.

But it's not that easy
You think I don't wanna run to you
But there are mountains
And there are doors that we can't walk through
I know you're wondering why because we're able to be
Just you and me within these walls
But when we go outside, you're gonna wake up and see
That it was hopeless after all

Tears now ran freely down her face as she invisioned Palladium standing in front of her, a hopefull glint in his beautiful eyes.

No one can rewrite the stars
How can I say you'll be mine?
Everything keeps us apart
And I'm not the one you were meant to find
It's not up to you
It's not up to me
When everyone tells us what we can be
How can we rewrite the stars?
Say that the world can be ours
Tonight

Her voice grew stronger and stronger with every sentence, her emotions now running freely. Memories of the opening ball flooded her mind. The feeling she had while dancing with Palladium, their walk through the forest…

All I want is to fly with you
All I want is to fall with you
So just give me all of you
It feels impossible
It's not impossible
Is it impossible?
Say that it's possible!

She was practically screaming the words now, dancing along her imaginary partner, his deep voice echoing through her imagination along with her own.

How do we rewrite the stars?
Say you were made to be mine?
Nothing can keep us apart
'Cause you are the one I was meant to find
It's up to you
And it's up to me
No one can say what we get to be
And why don't we rewrite the stars?
Changing the world to be ours…

But that wonderfull, wonderfull feeling was abruptly gone by another voice echoing through her song.

I believe it is very much possible that the part inside of you that is originated to the moon of Eraklion will somehow recognise an elf as something familiar and therefore latch on. I would stay clear of professor Palladium if I were you.

Avalon's voice was directly replaced by Palladium's.

We'll just have to continue with our normal lives. Try to avoid each other as much as possible.

A sob escaped Samara's lips. She looked up again, towards the moon.

You know I want you
It's a secret I have to hide
But I can't have you
We're bound to break and my hands are tied…

AUTHOTS NOTE: The song Rewrite the Stars is from the movie The Greatest Showman. I changed it a bit to fit the story. Honestly one of the best songs ever, please check it out on youtube or even better watch the whole movie, it's awesome!
