Hi! I'm not dead and here's chapter fourteen!

In the last chapter, Marla had dinner with the Flash family and Barry got knocked out by someone. This chapter is about the aftermath of that.

Now I don't know if it needs it, but I will give it anyway: TRIGGER WARNING. Marla defends herself from someone trying to hurt her later on in the chapter, I know that can be triggering for some people so here is the warning.

Enjoy!

I do not own CW's Flash or any character or places mentioned.

Chapter Fourteen

The Plan Begins

Cisco

I put down my phone as my call to Barry went straight to voicemail, "He's still not answering." I turned back to my friends.

We were all hanging around the Cortex, trying to figure out different ways to track Barry down.

"You try vibing his suit?" Joe asked.

I shook my head, "Haven't been getting anything."

Wally zoomed in a moment later, "He's not at his apartment or his lab."

Iris walked in from Cailtin's medical area as she hung up the phone, "Thanks anyway." She put it in her pocket before explaining, "That was Felicity. The last time she or Oliver saw Barry was when he dropped off the bullet."

"They figure out where it came from?"

"She said something about the Dubháin Crime Family, apparently they're a mob that's run out of Star City with issues with Snart. They were trying to kill Marla to get to him."

My head snapped up, "Marla!" Everyone looked at me, confused, "Barry took her home last night, she might know where he ended up."

"Someone better find Snart then, because Barry said he moved her to a new apartment." Joe replied.

I paused, "I think I know who can find him." I walked out of the Cortex and clicked on Lisa's number.

"Well, now, isn't this a surprise."

"Hey, Lisa, I need to ask you something."

"Sure thing, Honey, what's up?" My eyebrows furrowed together in confusion at the sound of the alarms in the background, "Lisa! Get off the phone and do something!" I heard Heatwave yell.

"Everything okay over there? Should I call back later?"

"No! No, everything is fine. What did you need to ask me about?"

"I was wondering if you knew where I could find your brother, I need his help finding someone."

"Check Saints and Sinners. If he's not there, he'll be at a safe house, I'll send you the addresses. If those fail, call me and I'll give you the one to his apartment."

"Cool! Thanks, Lisa, I owe you."

I could practically hear the grin in her voice, "You can pay up when I'm visiting home."

I smiled despite myself before hanging up and heading over to Saints and Sinners. Much to my relief, Snart was there, unfortunately, with Mark Mardon.

"Snart! Thank God you're here!"

He glared up at me, "You know, Cisco, I get nervous when you seem relieved to see me." He drawled.

"We need your help."

"With what?" I glanced at Mark, cautiously, and Snart sighed, "Take a walk to the bar, Mardon."

Weather Wizard grumbled but did as asked, but not without crashing his shoulder into mine.

I grunted at the sheer force of it and grabbed my shoulder, "Jesus, the guy made out of lead or something?!"

"What did you need from me, Cisco? I don't have all day."

I rolled my eyes and sat down, "Yeah, it looks like you're real busy." He stared right through me and I sighed, "We can't find Barry. We were hoping-"

"What do you mean you can't find the kid?"

"He didn't show up at S.T.A.R. Labs today. He wasn't at his apartment or his lab, he's not answering his phone… we can't find him. The last time we saw him, he was-"

Snart waved a hand and Mardon came back over, "Marla. Who was with her last night?"

Mardon cleared his throat and pulled out his phone, "I was heading over there, but she texted me saying that Barry guy or whoever was staying with her. Last I saw him, she said he was cool. Why?"

Snart glanced at me, "Because he's missing." Mardon took a step back and I didn't miss the panic in both his and Snart's eyes, "Go to the safe house and get everyone on this. I want him and Marla found." He turned back to me, "Ramon, you're with me."

I followed him out of the bar, "Where are we going?"

"To Marla's apartment, Dubháin better hope she and Barry are just sleeping in."

"Wait! What?! What's happening?!"

"Owen Dubháin is the head of the family. I spoke to him after we figured out where the bullet came from, he said he knew nothing about it but would make sure all members knew that my Rogues were off-limits."

"Smart man knows not to make an enemy out of you."

"Exactly. If Marla's missing, I'm turning his operation inside and out until I find her."

Not five minutes later, we arrived at Marla's apartment. The door was unlocked when we got there, causing Snart to power up the Cold gun.

"Marla knows not to leave her door unlocked, not with everything that's going on."

He slowly opened the door and held his weapon at the ready as we entered the apartment.

Snart went through Marla's kitchen and found a frying pan before handing it to me.

"Do I look like Rapunzel?" I hissed.

Snart rolled his eyes and glared at me, "Just check her bedroom, I'll look over here."

Taking a deep breath, I raised the frying pan, ready to hit the first thing that moved as I opened the door to Marla's bedroom. I winced as the door squeaked slightly before I heard a muffled moan coming from the closet.

I instantly dropped the pan when I opened the door, "Snart! I found Barry!"

I pulled the duct tape off of his mouth before undoing the restraints.

"Cis… co?" Barry mumbled, disoriented, "Was happenin'?"

"You were knocked out, dude." Snart pushed past me and grabbed Barry by his collar, "Snart!"

"Where's Marla?!"

Barry blinked a few times before answering, "Marla? What do you-" His eyes shot open fully as he finally realized just where he was, "Oh my God, Marla!"

"Where is she, Scarlet?" Snart raised the Cold gun to his chest.

"I don't know, man! We were talking in the kitchen, the next thing I know someone knocked me out!" He looked at me, "What time is it?"

"Eleven o'clock."

Barry jerked himself out of Snart's grip, "She's been gone for fourteen hours!"

Snart pushed Barry out of the room, "Get Cisco to back S.T.A.R. Labs! You and I are taking a trip to Star City."

Barry didn't hesitate in running us off to our set destinations, leaving me with the task of filling everyone else in on the current situation. I didn't know Marla well, but I hoped that we would find her before it was too late. She seemed like she was a lot of fun when I had talked to her and it seemed like she made Barry happy.

Marla

I let out a low moan as I woke up and went to rub the sleep out of my eyes. However, I was confused when I couldn't move them, even more so when I realized that I had duct tape over my mouth.

I stiffened when I remembered what happened.

I was about to ask Barry why he asked me out when I noticed something come up from behind him.

"Barry!" I exclaimed.

He barely caught a glimpse of the gun as the unknown man smashed his gun into Barry's skull, successfully knocking him out.

As he reached for me, I kicked at his shin, internally thanking Mark for teaching me a thing or two about self-defense, before bolting towards my door.

I was about to grab the handle when I was tripped and yanked back to the kitchen.

"Little bitch." The man growled.

He straddled my hips as he crushed my throat. I clawed at his hand, trying to break free, but his grip only got tighter and tighter the more I struggled, spots beginning to invade my vision.

"The hell you doing, man?! Marcus wants her taken alive." Black spots were invading my vision, so I couldn't see the new guy.

The guy on top of me let out an animalistic growl before punching me in the face, causing my world to go black.

That explained why my face was throbbing and why my left eye felt swollen shut, clearly I was going to have a black eye for quite some time. I glanced around my surroundings, finally realizing that I was in some kind of basement.

It was very dimly lit and that mixed with my messed-up eye gave me about five feet of visibility. I struggled against the restraints, moaning in frustration when I realized that they were also duct tape.

I heard a door open followed by footsteps down creaking stairs, so heavy that I thought that the stairs would give way.

"Good. You're awake." A deep voice sounded from behind me.

I cried out as he pulled the duct tape off, "Who are you? Why are you-" I was cut off when he backhanded me across the face, his ring cutting my cheek.

"I'm the only one asking questions today." He pulled out a chair from somewhere in the shadows that surrounded us, "Now tell me, exactly, what are you to Leonard Snart? More importantly, what will he do to get you back?"

So Marla has been kidnapped and it's a race against time to find her. Next chapter everyone is gets involved in this rescue operation. Here's a sneak peek into chapter fifteen.

I interrupted him with a shake of my head, "If something happens to her, that's on me. I was the last one with her last night. They were in her apartment, waiting for her, and I couldn't protect her. I'm the fastest man alive, but they still managed to knock me out. The hell kind of hero am I if I can't protect someone standing right next to me?!"

Felicity placed a comforting hand on my shoulder, "We'll help you find her." She looked back at Snart, "Both of you."

Snart nodded, eyes downcast, "Thank you."
