Chapter 5-The Irony

A/N: The title of this chapter was inspired by the revies. It popped up in many of the comments. It made sense. I was not sure about the last chapter. I wrote it late at night in about 4 hours with tired eyes. I scanned over it to check for errors and decided to trust the word auto correct, and since there were none except the many conjunctions I saved and loaded. Thank you guys your comment let me know trusting what I wrote the first time around normally is the way to go. Again, this will have many moving parts. I find the story more interesting when I write in this manner. Knowing what many characters are doing all in one chapter makes it even more exciting. I'm not sure how many chapters this story will be, so well just go with the flow. Let get back to the story.

Happy Reading!

Liv continued to walk as Max drove next to her pleading with her to get in the car. She ignored his pleas as she suddenly turns and walks in the opposite direction. Max ended up caught in traffic and couldn't turn around because of the rush hour commute. She quickly walks up the street and ducks inside of a Starbucks before taking out her phone and sending Jay a text that read: 911 our spot. She doesn't wait long before his responds. 30 minutes

Liv orders herself and UBER and waits after buying a tea for herself. She needed to use the restroom and went into the private bathroom locking the door behind her. After relieving herself and washing her hands she stops and stares at herself in the mirror. She notices for the first time that her face is a bit chubbier. She then raises her shirt and looks down at her stomach. It was not as flat as before. Four months she thought to herself. Where the hell is it? She turned left then right finally realizing that she was rounder in the waist area. Her but was slightly bigger as where her breast. This explained the extra tenderness. She thought it was from Max ruff handing of them. He was a breast man by all accounts.

She then stepped back and took a good look at her stomach in the mirror. Her definition was almost gone. It wasn't just slight weight gain from her depressive eating habits but a whole baby. How do you explain her monthly, it still came but then again it had been light and short, wow a whole baby? Who would have thought?

Her phone dings. The UBER arrives and she heads to the Washington Capital. She arrives and makes her way to the top of the stairs and takes a seat in front of the Lincoln statue and waits. She tries to hold back the tears. Whether or not they were tears of sorrow or joy she didn't know.

She spots Jay coming towards her and quickly tries wiping away her tears and compose herself. "Okay big sis, you called me here, so I know it's serious. I see the tears. Just tell me who I have to kill." He states taking a seat next to Liv immediately grabbing her hand intwining their fingers. "Talk to me sis."

Liv break into a full-blown sob. Jay pulls her into and embrace and just holds her while caressing up and down her back. "I got you baby girl. Get it out. Then we can talk."

Jay knows Liv well and when she cries in this matter, he knows to give her time because she my shed a few tears but barely cries on this magnitude. He continues to allow her time until she finally gain control.

"I fucked up Jay. I really fucked up."

Jay kisses her on the forehead "Whatever it is Liv we can and will get through it. I'm here and always will be."

Liv finally sit upright looking at Jay's tear-stained expensive shirt. "I'm sorry I mess up your shirt."

"You can use me as a tear catcher any day my love. Now please tell me what has you so distraught?"

She reaches inside of her purse looking for a tissue when Jay whips out his silk handkerchief. "Thank you." Liv states exhaling a long breath "Do you want the good but bad news or the bad that may be good news first?"

"Good." He swiftly answers anxious to know what happened

"I'm pregnant, Max is cheating and has a two-year-old son."

"Hmmm." Jay says but doesn't really respond just waits for Liv to continue before he tells her how he will kill Max. So she continues "The bad is that I…uh…I…cheated on him about 4 months ago with my used to be neighbor who's since has moved away, and Max and I just went for infertility testing and he can no longer have kid due to drug use he admitted to doing about a year ago."

She quickly looks into the other direction afraid of what Jay will say. Jay clears his throat before speaking. "So, your neighbor is the father of my soon to be niece or nephew?" Was his only question

Liv turns back to look at him and nods her head up and down. "Does Max know?" She shakes her head from side to side as tears again begin to fall. "Hey hey, cut that out. No shedding tears over what has already happened. Max is and ass who needs his ass whipped and I'm very tempted to be the one to do it. This ex-neighbor does he know?"

"No." She softly answer as Jay whips away her fallen tears. "Do you know how to contact him? Do you even want to contact him?"

She lays on Jay shoulder "No and no, he's stated his wife was cheating on him and had another man's child. I can't deal with anymore drama in my life."

"Which neighbor, does he have a name?"

"Fitzgerald."

Jay leans back in shock "Fitzgerald Grant the fine as lawyer next door-next door?!"

"Yeah, that one." She answers with a snicker at Jay's expression

"Damn sis, you fucked my crush." They both laugh "How did that come about?"

"It just did. Max left for a trip and I was lonely. I was sitting having wine on the back patio and he was there. We spoke, he asked to join me. I agreed and before we knew it, we were in a full state of passion. I woke up hours later and he was gone. He did however leave me a goodbye note with a side of aspirin."

"Well damn. Just tell me is he hung?"

With all seriousness in her voice "Like a hoarse."

Jay shakes his head "Damn, so it was good.?" Jay questions in the form of a statement

"It was amazing Jay. To the point I can't stop thinking about him. His touch, his smell, his tongue, his taste…"

"Okay, okay. I get the gest. He's all that and some. So, what do you want to do?"

"I'm keeping my baby Jay-man." The look of seriousness written on her face

"I would expect nothing less. But I meant about Max and baby daddy. You said you don't want to contact him. Is his wife still in the house next door?"

"Yes, she's still there with the baby. To my knowledge he hasn't return since that day we were together. As for Max, I'm filing for a divorce as soon as possible. I'm moving out today. Can I stay with you until I find something else?"

"You don't even have to ask. Do you need me to go to the house with you to collect your things?"

"No. I will have the rest of the team do it. He's petrified of Huck and Stephen. I'll send Harrison as well just to make him shit his pants, but hopefully he won't be there. He was supposed to go out of town today, but I yelled at him about our appointment, forcing his hand to come with me to have the tests done."

Jay thinks for a minute before continuing. "I'll get the paperwork started. Okay first things first. You need to get an STD exam. Your nasty ass husband was cheating on you with some bitch, you slept with a man whose wife was cheating on him with some man, and everybody was raw dogging it, leaving all that shit inside of you and you're left holding the bag and the baby. Yes, Liv you have to get check out like today. Let's go!" He stands pulling Liv up by the hand.

Liv becomes petrified of what he just said because she never even thought about that part. They head for his car. "Do you think I might really have caught something?"

"I sure hope not."

Max drives home and waited for Liv to return. He had truly screw things up. Liv was his hidden superpower. When his guys got in trouble, she got them off. She was becoming a big dog among the Elites. Her name was becoming big. That's why he wanted her to hyphenate her last name. He needed to be tied to her in every way. She looked good on his arm. He didn't intend to get Angela pregnant. Angela Webster was the team physical therapist who unbeknownst to him got pregnant on purpose. He planned to hit it and quit it, but she became pregnant and threatened to expose him. After spending time with her he realized how great she was in and out of bed and couldn't let her go. Once their son was born, he made sure neither of them wanted for or needed anything.

She knew Olivia and knew they were married, hell she came to the wedding and wanted Max for herself. She now had him. But he needed Liv and was not willing or ready to let her go. He needed to figure things out. How can he get her to forgive him and accept his son Maxwell Lamont King Jr. He worked his brain thinking trying to come up with something but after realizing he never gave Liv what she wanted most but instead another woman he knew he had lost her. He yet wanted to give it his best shot. He went outside and got into his car putting inside of the garage before returning back inside to wait for Liv. He knew sooner or later she would come home.

…..

After Liv and Jay got the good news of her STD were all negative, she was able to breathe a sigh of relief and promised Jay she would never take a chance like that again she headed home to retrieve some clothing. Not seeing Max's car brought her relief. It was short lived because as she turned the lock and entered the home, she saw him sitting on the sofa. "Liv, can we pleas…" He stops short when he sees Jay walk in behind her.

She turns to Jay "Can you get started grabbing some of my things. My suitcases are in the walk-in closet. I'll call you if I need you." Jay nods while snaring at Max as he makes his way upstairs to Liv's bedroom.

Liv walks over to Jay but doesn't sit down. "Talk." She commands

"Can you please have a seat?" His pleads comes out with pure desperation.

Liv becomes irritated immediately "You know what…."

He senses her irritation "Okay-okay you can stay standing." He agrees waving his hand in front of him as to wave off his request. "Baby I know I can take back what I said, and yes I do have a son, but we can work this out." Liv doesn't respond she just stares at him. He becomes even more uneasy and keeps going only to dig himself in deeper trouble. "It was a mistake. I didn't intend for it to happen. I messed up. I…I"

"Who is she?"

"Huh? Why does…does that matter?"

"It matters."

He drops his head and barely above a whisper he states her name "Angela Webster."

Liv let out a huff and shakes her head. "Oh wow. Angela the team physical therapist. Go figure."

Liv then asks, "Is the kid named after you?" He nods

"So, you see why I am done. It's obvious to me know they we are all wrong for each other." Liv states knowing what she too has done but is not willing to share. "There's no coming back from this, there's no fixing this. You have a son outside of our marriage. A two-year-old son that you hid from me. So therefore, you have a relationship outside of ours-an intimate relationship that resulted in a son that is named after you. Do you see where I'm going with this Max?"

"Liv baby I swear I'm so sorry. I can make this up to you. I can go back to the doctor and do what I need to give you the baby you've always wanted. I will do whatever it takes, baby I need you in my life. Please don't leave me Olivia?"

"You left me first, a long time ago. About three years ago when you started fucking your team therapist. So, don't try to make me feel guilty about leaving you. I am done. I told you I was done. We are over."

Max studies Liv "Why are you so calm. I would think you would be angry. Yelling and screaming, attacking me or something, but no, you are calm…why?"

"I've been angry. I've been yelling, I've been crying, everytime you walked out that door to go fuck your mistress. I'm over it and I'm over you. My intuition told me you were cheating but I loved you and didn't listen. I'm tired of crying and feeling lonely and neglected. Finding out my intuition was right actually brings me a sense of relief believe or not. You're arrogant, cocky, and narcissistic. Sooner or later our personalities would have clashed and became too much. I'm just glad I saw you before it was too late. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to help Jay pack up some of my things."

She walks off leaving Max steaming. He wanted to push the issue and tear into her, but Jay was there, and truth be told he was kind of scared of Jay. He was the quiet observant type and he learned from experience those were the dangerous ones. He figured he'd get another opportunity so he would bid his time.

Fitz was on his way to court with a confident stride in his step. He knew he had this case in the bag. His billionaire client was being accused of murder after killing an intruder who broke into his home who appeared to be raping his wife. He shot him while he was in the act. He had forgotten his briefcase and returned home to retrieve it when he walked in on the assault. He was a licensed gun owner and carried his weapon on his hip.

Tom was able to uncover, that the wife lied and was actually having an affair with thus said intruder. Street cameras showed the same man coming to the home everyday for over five months whenever the husband left for work.

When she noticed her husband, she started screaming like the man was attacking her during their ruff sexual encounter. Her husband non the wiser pulls his gun and shoots the man three times in the chest as his wife pushes him off of her.

The husband was broken when he found out the truth. He was so grateful to Fitz for finding out the truth and wanted to see his wife pay. The evidence would prove the wife's action cause her husband to shoot and kill the man. By the end of the proceeding the husband was found not guilty and the wife was booked and charged with second degree intentional homicide. The client was so grateful that he doubled Fitz's fee as a show of gratitude.

The case was big and on every media network. Fitz name was in the headlines as the shark. This was a two-month long case but was worth it. It keeps him busy and kept his mind somewhat of the beautiful woman that constantly invaded his thoughts and dreams. He needed to see her again. He wanted to know how things were going with her marriage. He wanted to touch her soft skin while running his hands through her long thick mane of hair. He wanted to experience her intoxicating scent. Boy did she smell good. He missed her taste that was left on his tongue and in his senses. The plumpness of her lips on his. How she wrapped her succulent lips around his harness, taking all of him in her mouth causing his toes to curl and his body to empty down her throat.

The sweet gentleness of her voice. The ways she looked at him as if she was seeing through him. How she would go from being shy to bold and open. He learned and missed so much about her. She just needed to be loved and cherished. He knew he was the man for the job.

He decided to celebrate with his team and stop off for food and drinks at a nice upscale restaurant. Tom was sitting next to Fitz when he leans in and whispers "Are you ready to tell me what's up with the Olivia woman you needed info on?"

Fitz smiles and leans back in his seat "Let's just say she's special and left an impression on me but we only shared first names. I plan on meeting her again."

Tom caught his drift shaking his head. "She is beautiful among other things my friend."

"I'm expecting the other things to change real soon. I just got this feeling."

"Fitz please tell me you won't have anything to do with that change."

"Not personally. Let's just say all is not well in paradise and I'm just bidding my time. If I'm right I left and even bigger impression on her. I'm sure of it."

"So you feel something for her? She's married Fitz." Puzzled look on his face

Fitz inhales deeply "Look Tom, what happened-happened, we both took part equally and willingly. I have since moved away. I haven't interfered in her life. Like I said, I have a feeling in my gut and my gut is never wrong. I just have to learn to trust it more. She said something to me that let me know, there is hope."

"The irony." Tom answers
