Secrets 11-Decisions
A/N: This is another short chapter I decided to write today for you guys as to not keep you all waiting too long. Sorry for spelling errors in advance. I hope you enjoy!

Yes! She said yes. Fitz was flabbergasted as he stood and watch the media bombard Liv on national television. She chose him. They were in this together. His heart was filled with the beat of his love for none other than Olivia Pope. He continued to watch as Huck and Jay appeared from behind and pulled Liv inside. That was his que to go get his woman.
….
Mellie became livid after watching the Olivia state she was in a relationship with Fitzgerald right after watching Fitz do a live sit down claiming his love for Olivia and her unborn child. She couldn't believe he'd beat her again. Something told her she had lost Fitz forever. She needed to retrieve her son and get the hell out of town, but it wouldn't be that easy.
Mellie calls Marcus. She was not expecting to hear him say she's not getting his son. She argues with him that Teddy was her son too. He told her he would see her in court; that she needed to contact his lawyer and he took out a restraining order out on her claiming she was mentally unstable over her divorce and was using their son as leverage to bait her ex-husband. He also explains that he would fight for full custody and request supervised visits when Teddy was with her along with DNA testing to prove Teddy was indeed his child and he would fight for full custody of him after the stunt she pulled with the media, the birth certificate and all the leaked photos out there. The fact that he lost his job behind her foolishness made his decision easy which also meant she had no job as well. Had it not been for Mikaela he would have fought for no contact, but Mikaela changed his mind with her views of the hurt of a mother losing a child.
Mellie was unreceptive to his words and promised to fight him with everything she got. He told her to bring it and hung up the phone. Mellie calls her lawyer and tells him she needed to see him. Once arriving her lawyer informs her that they had a long road ahead of them and this fight could get very costly. Mellie realized she didn't have the finance to fight this fight causing her to go on a drinking binge with thoughts of revenge on her ex for causing all this trouble in her life. It was because of him she lost her son. It was because of him she lost her financial stability. It was because of him she lost her job. It was because of him her face was plastered all over the news. Had he not pushed her she would not be in any of this situation. She decided that if she couldn't be happy with him, neither would Olivia Pope.

Fitz arrives at OPA and finds Liv a ball of nerves. He walks up to her and she begins apologizing about what she said to the media. He stops her and tells her he loves what she said and kisses her before pulling her into a strong embrace.
A few minutes later "I want to take you somewhere. Can you leave for the day?" She chuckles "I'm the boss, I can do whatever I want." He smiles "Let's go."
They leave taking the private entry to the underground garage. Liv notices there are five black SUVs parked with the engines running. She turns to look at Fitz. "What is this?" He pulls her into another embrace and kisses her on the lips. "This is me making sure we won't be followed. If the media doesn't know which vehicle we are in, we have an easy escape from the mayhem."
Liv smiles after returning the kiss "You're particularly good at thinking ahead. I just might keep you around."
They walk to the 2nd truck and get comfortable inside. All the trucks pull out of the private entry once the gate opens simultaneously leaving the media dismayed and confused. Twenty odd minutes later they arrive at what appears to be a gated home that set back far off the entryway. "Where are we?" Liv questions
"This is my parent's home. I want you to meet them."
"Fitz, are you sure? Is the timing right?"
Livvie, they know everything. I am incredibly open with my parents. We have a remarkably close relationship. My dad has been helping me with all of this. It was their idea. They want to meet you my love. They are extremely excited to meet the mother of their future grandchild. With everything that's happened today I figure this is the perfect time. I hope I haven't overstepped."
"No Fitz its fine. I'm okay with meeting your parents." He takes her hand "Shall we?" The exit the truck and enter the home. "Mom, dad, where are you guys? I have someone I want you to meet."
Fitz father comes out of his study and his mom comes out of the kitchen "Mom, dad, meet Olivia Pope."
Gerry stops just in front of Liv "Wow, the great Olivia Pope. I've heard your name in many circles. You've become a big dog here in Washington. It's nice to finally meet you in person."
"Thank you, Governor, it's nice to meet you as well." Liv repeats as she shakes Gerry's hand "Oh dear please call me Gerry. You are after all carrying my grandchild."
Her heart melts "Okay Gerry it is." She answers
"Hello Olivia, I'm Anna Fitz's mother. You are even more beautiful in person, my goodness I can only imagine what our grandchild will look like having such good-looking parents." Liv and Fitz both blush
Anna and Gerry both can't stop gushing over Olivia and her beauty and powerful status in life. "Liv may I call you Liv?" Gerry asks and Liv nods with a kind gesture of a head nod "You are doing amazing in life considering all that has happened."
Anna unable to help herself "Pregnancy really looks good on you. When are you due if you don't mind me asking?"
"Oh not at all, August 8th."
"Oh my Olivia that's a little over four months away. I'm so excited." Anna continues
"Well looks like we will need to repurchase all those baby gifts. Have you had a baby shower?" Gerry questions
"No. Not as of yet? I don't have any female friends to plan that with. I'm kind of a loner."
"Oh dear how do you not have any friends?" Curiosity getting the best of Anna
"I have friends just no female friends as of yet." Liv tosses out without a second thought
Fitz jumps in "Mom what smells good in here I'm starving. Liv baby are you hungry?"
"Yes I could use some nourishment."
Anna gladly starts sharing what she had prepared "I prepared lasagna with a side of garden salad. I hope that's alright."
"That's fine I love lasagna." Liv adds
The family sits down to eat and continue sharing. Liv even allowed the Grants to touch her stomach and feel the baby move. Anna had quickly fallen in love with Olivia and so had Gerry. They discussed all the things they planned for the little one once the gender was known. They shared childhood photos of Fitz and them in their younger days. Liv fell in love with a college picture of 21-year-old Fitz. Anna promised to have a copied printed for her. After hours of laughter and conversation about today's events Liv and Fitz headed back to Fitz hotel for a good night's rest.
What they didn't know was that Mellie had been looking for Fitz to extract her revenge. She had been driving past his parent's home in hopes of finding him while continuing to drink to keep her courage. What she got was a two for one deal. There he was leaving his parent's home with none other than Olivia Pope.
She looks down at the gun on her lap and feels empowered. She waits for them to drive out of the property and begins following them. Fitz and Liv are none the wiser. They drive along without a care in the world lost in their bubble of love. That is until a car pulls up next to them at a stop light and gunfire shatters Fitz side window. Liv screams and crouches, Fitz arm and hand goes up to protect him from glass to his face before he looks over and sees Mellie exiting her car with a gun in her hand still firing at them. He presses the gas and takes off as Liv continues to scream.
Mellie jumps back inside of her car and takes off after them. She is no longer concern with reality just her anger at what she feels Fitz has done to her. Fitz looks over at Liv "Baby are you hit are you okay?"
"With a panic-stricken face she finally raises her head "No I'm not hit, I don't think. Who was that, why are they shooting at us?"
"It's Mellie my ex, she's actually following us." Fitz hits the button on his auto call service "Call 911" He yells out while driving almost 80 miles an hour. He could still hear gunshots as he guns the engine. "911 what is your emergency?"
As another scream comes from Liv as the back window shatters Fitz ducks pushing Liv further down in her seat "Stay down baby," Turning his attention to the 911 dispatcher "We're being shot at. My ex-wife Melanie Whitmore is chasing us shooting at us I need the police to track my on-star. She's in a silver 2019 BMW sedan."
"Sir are you Fitzgerald Grant?"
"Yes!" Fitz yells still trying to lose Mellie in traffic "My pregnant girlfriend and I are in the car. I'm trying to lose her, get somebody out here now! We need help. Livvie baby I'm not going to get us out of this."
"We've picked up your location Mr. Grant the authorities have been dispatched to your location. I need you describe your automobile.
"I'm in a 2019 BMW black SUV."
"Okay sir, the description matches my records, Is the person still shooting at you?"
"Yes!" Fitz yells as Liv screams in terror
"I see you're currently on 95th Boulevard there are officers close to your location now."
Fitz looks in his rearview and sees two squad cars in the distance but continues driving at a high rate of speed. "I see them but I'm not stopping." Fitz continues speeding through the city streets as Mellie follows. She empties the gun clip shooting at Fitz and Olivia but refuses to give up her chase when she sees the many squad cars now chasing her.
Once Mellie is surrounded by police vehicles Fitz tries pulling over but seeing Mellie plowing towards them. He pushes the gas again and speeds back up. "This bitch is crazy!" Liv lifts up and looks back and sees Mellie still chasing them even though there are police cars driving next to her telling her to pull over. "Fitz I'm scared." Fitz squeezes her hand "I know love, so am I."
Mellie still has the empty gun in her hand as she drives. The chase was up to upgraded from reckless driving to armed and dangerous. She was determined to get her revenge at all cost after all she had lost everything. She reaches in her purse and pulls out another clip to the 9mm Glock in her hand and reloads it. She ignores the police loud horn order to pull over and put down the gun. She reaches out of the window and aim the gun at Fitz's car causing the police to pull back and begins firing. This causes the police to start firing at her tires and car to dismantle her ability to drive. It doesn't stop her pursuit.
About a mile ahead officers are set up with strip sticks as well as the order to engage with safety. As Fitz car drives past them at a high rate of speed they take aim at Mellie car. The following officers pull back as the waiting officers begin firing upon her car as it drove past. Hitting their mark as one of the bullets strike Mellie in the head and chest. Her car crashes into a tree and the chase is over. Fitz is informed and instructed to drive to the nearest police station and wait for further instructions.
The media had picked up the chase and was currently reporting it live. Huck and the team moved into action as well did Tom. Fitz parents watched in horror afraid calling them would distract them from their escape. Huck arrived as the chase ended and stood by to make sure Mellie was indeed dead as the other inquired about details on Liv and Fitz. Tom of course had text Fitz once the chase ended and was meeting him at the police station. Once Mellie's death was confirmed the team also headed to meet up with Liv and Fitz. Fitz immediately called his parent just in case they saw it live and insured them they were okay. They also made their way to the station.
They were questioned for over two hours before they were allowed to leave. Their story became national news. The Grant name was heard worldwide. Liv was traumatized and scared shitless. Fitz was concern about Liv and worried what kind of affect all this would have on her and the pregnancy. He feels as if all of this is his fault for pushing Liv to go public with their relationship. What did this mean for them? Would they come out of this together? Would this be too much for Liv to move forward with him? He just didn't know. He would find a way to make this up to her. Hopefully, Mellie's death would bring Liv some comfort. He would just have to wait and see. He felt bad for Mellie but her choices was not on him. Only if he could get Liv to see it that way.
As the questioning ends Liv and Fitz meet back up with the family. Hugs were long and extreme as everyone displays their relief to be back together. Everyone is introduced to each other when finally what everyone is wonder is asked. "Liv are you going with Fitz? This question coming from Jay. Liv look up at Fitz and the decision is clear. "Yes." She answers
