SECRETS 21-The Unexpected

A/N: Thank you all for the warm welcome back. God, I wish I could get back on FB scandal page…uggg. Well, here is another short chapter. It comes easier when the chapters are shorter.

Liv was just putting the twins down before calling the office to check in with Huck. After her phone call from Stephen. She was worried about Abby. Sure, she and Abby were no longer friends, but she couldn't just do nothing if she knew she could be in trouble. "Hey Huck, I need you to go back to keeping an eye on Charles Putney. He may still be causing trouble for Abby."

"Got it. I'll let you know if I find something."

"I need you to track his every move. Phone, home, office…everything Huck."

"Consider it handled."

"Thanks Huck."

"No problem, how are the twins?"

"They're good, an adjustment but, one I love."

"Okay I will get back to you with what I find." They both hang up.

Liv looks up as she hears her husband walk into the kitchen where she had started breakfast. He was on the phone. "I'm not sure Tom but keep an eye on him and correlate with Huck. Liv has him looking into him as well. Thanks man." He hangs up and leans in and kisses Liv. "What's for breakfast love?"

"I was making omelets with light toast."

"Mm my favorite. Have you spoken to Huck?"

"Yes. I just got off the phone with him right before you came down. He'll call when he has something"

The couple sits down to eat before Fitz leaves for work when the doorbell rings. They both look at each other. "Are you expecting anyone?" Fitz questions and Liv shakes her head as they both get up to see who was at their home so early in the day. A smiling Jay is standing on the other side as the door opens.

"Well hello family. I would have used my key but remembering how you two love is express everywhere I decided to use the doorbell."

Fitz and Liv both laugh "Hey Jay." "Hi Jay-man." They both say simultaneously as Jay walks inside. "What brings you by so early?" Liv adds

"I needed some family time, and I knew Fitz was back at work, so here I am."

"You know you're always welcome anytime Jay." Fitz shares "I actually feel better with you here in case Livvie needed an extra hand."

Liv smiles "You hungry? I just finish making breakfast." She asks as they walk towards the kitchen

"Nope, had that already but thank you. Are the twins awake?"

"No, I just put them down. Sorry you have about 3 hours or so before they wake up."

They sit in the kitchen and talk as Liv and Fitz finishes breakfast. Once Fitz leaves for work it just Liv and Jay and the two spend the day together along with the twins once they woke up. Jay finally left at around 2pm once he got his family time.

Fitz returned home to find Liv sitting on the floor on her computer as the twins played tummy time in front of her. He joins her kissing her after kissing both his children. "How was your day, did they give you a hard time?"

After returning the kiss "No Jay only left about 2 hours ago. They were loving on their uncle, took a nap, and now their enjoying tummy time."

"Should I make dinner?" Fitz asks

"No, I'll cook. I was just waiting for you. I can have dinner ready in about an hour."

"Okay let me get a shower then I'll take over tummy time."

Fitz headed for the shower as Liv started dinner. By the time Fitz finished his shower he could already smell dinner floating throughout the home. He dresses and walks back into the living area of the open floor plan towards the twins. Liv looks up and sees him in only sweats and a t-shirt. She licks her lips at the site of him. "Baby is that meatloaf I smell?" He questions as he looks down at his babies.

"Yes baby, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob and homemade biscuits."

Fitz stomach rumbles and his mouth salivates as he thinks about everything Liv just said. He does a little dance as he kisses his babies. "You hear that sunshine mommy made a whole full course meal for daddy." His baby girl looks at him and pouts as her eyes begins to water.

"Oh, sunshine, don't cry what's the matter?" Fitz lifts her from her bouncer. Her whimper begins to build as Fitz cuddles her in his arms as she goes into a full-on cry.

"Fitz what are you doing to my baby?"

"I think she may be hungry Livvie."

"I fed them both about an hour ago baby."

"Maybe she too hot."

Fitz starts to unravel her from the burrito wrapped blankets Liv has her confined in just like her brother. The pediatrician said wrapping them this way brings them comfort. Fitz then removes her onesie due to her working herself up radiating heat from her small body leaving her in her socks, pamper and onesie t-shirt that says Daddy's Little Girl.

He places her on his chest and rubs her back as he softly comforts her. Liv just watches him. She loves watching him with the twins. He was always so gentle and loving. It always brought a smile to her face and much felt love to her heart. She could not have been happier than to have Fitz as the father of her children.

Miya was calming down as she lay against her father's chest. Fitz walks towards the kitchen and right up to his wife puckering his lips for a kiss. She stretches up her neck and gives him a peck. "I see you have the magic touch, but where are her clothes?" Liv questions

"She was a bit warm, but now she's fine." Fitz states with a smile

Moments later his little sunshine let out a good grunt. Fitz eyes widened as did Liv's. She let out a chuckle because she knew what just happened leaving daddy clueless. "That sounds like a load she just let loose. I think that actually why she was upset. She was needed to let loose." Liv giggles as she shares her belief with her husband

"Well, I'm glad I could help her ou..." But before Fitz could finish Miya grunted again and again releasing all of her digested dinner her mommy fed her only just an hour ago. Before he could react, poop was coming out the bottom of her diaper onto his arm, hand, and shirt.

Liv bust out into to a fit of laughter because she knew what was coming. Fitz had yet to change his daughter's diaper. He was not comfortable with having to do so because she was a girl. Of course, Liv thought this was ridiculous and tried many of times to get him to share in the total joy of being a new father, but he had yet to indulge. Holding his baby girl with outstretched arms he pleads with his wife.

"Livvie baby I... oh my god she pooped on me. It's coming out of her diaper, baby you have to get her and change her. I need to clean up. Oh, my goodness...it green!" He gags and Liv laughs harder.

"No no baby you are stuck with diaper duty. I am in the middle of cooking." Miya began to cry again and kick her little legs. This time she wails harder causing her daddy to almost panic. "Livvie baby you have to change her.

He walks towards a laughing Olivia, and she swiftly walks away from him around the granted counter of the kitchen still holding a knife with a half-peeled potato still in her hand. "Nope baby that's all you. I'm cooking and you need to go clean up your daughter before she gets a rash."

Suddenly his baby girl let out a piercing scream. Her cries become caught in her throat and it breaks Fitz heart. Her reddened tear-stained face and ears brought tears to his eyes. "I'm sorry sunshine, daddy's so sorry."

He momentarily looks at Liv before turning, still holding his daughter at arm's length "I got this. I can do this, daddy got you sunshine. Daddy's going to get you all cleaned up." "Yes, you got this baby." Liv repeats as she raised her arms in celebration.

Fitz makes his way to the nursery upstairs because his baby girl needed more than just a diaper change. She needed a full body cleaning. Forgetting that he was male, and she was female he only saw his daughter who in this moment needed him.

He made his way to the adjourning bathroom in the nursery and turn on the shower. He makes his way back into the nursery and places his wailing baby girl down on the changing table. Fitz was a dad on a mission. "Daddy's coming sunshine." He removes his poop-stained shirt and grabbed a hand full of wipes to clean his arms and hands before removing his baby girl's t-shirt and diaper.

Without thinking he swiftly and gently cleans her up using the same pack of wipes. He tosses her soiled clothing on the floor not caring about nothing but comforting his baby girl.

Unknowingly to him Olivia after putting to potatoes on boil and checking on their son, made her way upstairs and was now watching and recording him. She needed to remember this moment for ever and one day show it to their daughter. Her daddy's first diaper change of his little Miya sunshine. She watches and records as he walks back into the bathroom with his daughter against his chest. He was so focus on getting his daughter all cleaned up that he never saw her standing behind him.

He suddenly drops his pants. This gives Liv a pause. She figured he turned on the shower to somehow clean their daughter even though it made no sense. She then calls out to him. "Fitz...baby what are you doing?"

Without pause and so focus on his crying daughter, he answers with honesty "This is the quickest way to get her cleaned up and calm her down." He then steps into the luke-warm shower with only his boxers on and ease underneath the slow flowing water against his back allowing it to trickle down onto his daughter. Liv stepped inside the bathroom and watch in awe of her husband. Miya cries softened until they stopped. "Baby can you hand me her baby wash?" Liv continues to record as she reaches on the counter for the baby wash and hands it to him along with a mini size wash cloth.

She continued to watch her husband as he sang and cleaned his now sniffling but calm daughter in his arms. With a fallen tear streaming down her face. She turns and heads back downstairs as she hears Elijah whimpers through the baby monitor attached to her hip. She would remember this moment forever. She suddenly stops her retreat and places her phone on the counter facing her husband and daughter and left it there recording his intimate moment with his Miya sunshine before returning to check on their son and dinner.

Once Fitz finishes bathing his baby girl and steps out of the shower, he sees Liv's phone on the counter. After wrapping his baby girl in a fluffy warm towel, he retrieves the phone and extends it, looking into the camera. "I did Livvie. Thank you love for giving me this moment and forcing me to face my fear. I love you baby, we love you." He looks down at his baby girl looking back at him with her large doe eyes. "Don't we baby girl?" She puckers her little lips as if she trying to speak, but instead blows out a spit bubble." Fitz smiles and looks back into the camera

"I believe she said yes Livvie." He then stops the recording and goes and dresses his little sunshine before heading to his and Liv's bedroom to retrieve his pajama bottoms and returning downstairs. He finds his wife standing over their son after giving him his pacifier as his calmed back to sleep. She looks up at her husband as he approaches with their baby girl, and smile.

Huck waisted not time contacting Tom. He was glad to hear that Tom had put a tracker on Charles car the first time they were watching him. He also shared with him that he himself had left camera's outside of his home though he removed the ones from inside. Tom shared that his tracker indicated that he had not seen any suspicious activity on his whereabouts. They both agreed to keep a close eye on him.

Huck decided to track down Abby and figure out what she had been up too as well. Just as he got a trace on her phone Jay walked into his office. "Hey Huck. Liv told me we are again tracking Charles Putney. You find anything good?"

"No nothing yet. Right now, I'm tracking Abby she is pinging at the Washingto…holy shit!" Huck stops and pulls up another screen on his computer.

Jay steps closer leaning over Hucks shoulder trying to see what he sees. "What Huck? Abby where is she?"

"She's at the Washington Hotel, but so is Charles. I need to hack into their camera system."

Huck types away on his computer as Jay watches on. His screen fills with videos from the Hotel's security system. Huck and Jay together begin to scan all the different videos in hopes of finding Charles or Abby. Huck picks up his phone and dials Tom.

Tom picks up on the first ring "What you got Huck?"

"Where are you?"

"I'm downtown keeping an eye on the Putney guy. Why what's up?"

"Hold on Abby's also there, he may be following her. Let me get her room number for you." Huck begins typing. After hacking into the hotel's log. He doesn't find Abby's name on the guest list. He continues to scan the list when Jay spots Stephen's name. "Hey Huck Stephen's name is on the list of guests maybe that her room." Huck back track the list until he sees Stephen's name. "Tom she's in room 1015 under Stephen's name. You have to get to her. She may be in trouble."

"I'll call you back." Tom states hanging up as he exits his blacked-out sedan. Two men join him.

Tom and the men split up and make their way to the room. The men take the back and front stairwell as Tom takes the elevator. The bad thing is Charles was making his way downstairs on moments after Tom stepped inside of the 2nd one walking right out of the Hotel.

Tom exits the elevator and walks towards the room. He listens while pressing his ear against the door. He knocks but gets no answer. He then looks down the hall, sees the housekeeper, and makes his way towards her. "Excuse me miss, have you cleaned the rooms on the far in yet?" He points in the opposite direction from where he came. Just as she started to answer she turned to see another gentleman coming her way from the stairwell. Tom reaches inside of her pocket taking the master key before she turned back to him only giving the man a quick glance but thinking nothing of his approach. "No senor I only cleaning this room, visitors check out, so I clean."

"Oh, okay can I get extra towels please?" She slowly closes the door to the suite she had just cleaned and handed Tom extra towel before heading to the service elevator on the other side of the hotel. "No problem here you go senor."

After making sure the coast was clear Tom who is now joined by both men enters Abby's suite. He doesn't see Abby in the living area. He calls out to her but gets no answer. Tom walks into the bedroom. There he finds Abby…unconscious. He runs to her. Checks her pulse. Then calls Fitz.

Fitz sits cuddled with his wife after a full course meal watching television as his wife sleeps when his phone rings. "Hey Tom, what's up?"

"Boss I found Abby and she's not good. I followed that Putney guys when Huck called and told me Abby was her also. She beaten pretty bad and unconscious. Do I take her to the hospital?"

Fitz sits up slowly waking Liv in the process. "How bad is she?"

"She is breathing, busted lip, hand marks on her neck, some bruising on her arms and legs."

Without really thinking Fitz instructs Tom to bring Abby to his home. "Bring her here. She won't be safe in the hospital. He will be able to get to her."

A sleepy but now concern Olivia overhears the one-sided conversation but picks up on the details quickly "What's going on Fitz, who's hurt? Is it Abby?"

He nods and kisses Liv on the forehead as he pulls her to him. "Yes baby. Tom, can you get her out of there without being seen?"

"Yeah, I can. I'll see you in a few." Tom hangs up and instruct his guys to go downstair and get a wheelchair and bring the truck around the side exit. He then calls Huck and ask him to cut the cameras for the next 10 minutes. Within 7 minutes Tom secures Abby and walks out using the side exit and is in route to Fitz and Liv's home.

Meanwhile back at the Grant home…

"Fitz baby what happen, is Abby alright?"

"She alive baby. Tom was following Charles when Huck called him and told him Abby was at the same location. He found Abby unconscious and a bit beaten up. I couldn't take a chance on them taking her to the hospital. So, he's bringing her here. I need to call in some favors and contact a family friend who's a physician."

With a look of concern on her face Liv nods "Okay. I'll put the twins in the nursery."

A/N: So what do you guys think? How will this all play out? How about Fitz and poop on him, and his reaction. I had to laugh myself after writing it. How about him not wanting to change his daughter because she was a girl? Liv had the perfect opportunity to get him to overcome his resolve. Why do you think Charles did that to Abby? There is so much more drama coming so stay tuned…
