The audience started to take notice of the fact that down in the dueling field where Yuya and his father were, four boys laid there instead of just one. Meanwhile, up in the stadium, Yuya's mother noticed that three additional girls were stacked on top of the pink haired girl.
"What just happened? I feel… familiar but different at the same time." Yuya said as he got up and dusted himself off.
"Woah, nice! I'm myself again!" Yugo shouted out as he stood up.
"Turn it down, you moron." Yuri said, getting up slowly, holding his head. "I got a splitting headache."
"You and me both." Yuto replied, then all of the four boys looked around, notiving one important detail.
"But… How is it possible? Wait, what about Zarc?! This is bad!" Yuya got concerned about the possible revival of the demon.
"Zarc is not coming back." Leo Akaba said as he rushed to them along with Reiji. "I checked the moment you all separated. He is still within Reira's body, subdued."
"Then what happened?" Yuto asked, looking down on himself. "We thought that, with the dimensions fused, we will be stuck together for the rest of our lives."
"Apparently, the Arc-V reactor was tempered with" Leo revealed, shocking everyone present. "I do not know who. I don't even know what they did. All I know is the reactor has overclocked itself, sending what could only be descriptive as a reality-rewriting wave out"
"Rewriting reality?" Yuto echoed.
"What does that mean?" Yugo asked. Even he understood that was not a good thing.
"It means that whoever did it could've ended the world right there but chose to separate us instead" Yuri said, explaining it to Yugo. "And that they are even smarter than the professor, which is nothing sort of scary if you ask me."
This had the others worry as well. If Yuri admitted to something or someone being scary, then that meant that person was utterly terrifying even. "But what did it do, exactly? I get that we are separated and all of that, but does that mean the dimensions are in danger?" Yuya asked.
"I will need to run some tests and diagnostics on the reactor, but it seems that everything is stable for the moment." Leo replied.
"For now, I think you four have other things to take care of" Reiji said, then he pointed to the edge of the stadium where a certain black-haired girl was running towards Yuto.
"Wait, you don't mean-" Yuto was cut off as his lips were suddenly sealed by a certain black haired girl he knew, which he recognized instantly.
"Oh my" Leo said. "Young love."
"Wait, wasn't this place broadcasted?" Yugo pointed out, which made both Yuto and Ruri pull apart, remembering a certain detail.
"Shun, Shun, I need you to take a moment. Inhale, then exhale." Kaito said, trying to fix the now broken mess which was Shun Kurosaki. The moment he saw how Ruri jumped on Yuto his fingers dug into the iron reeling and broke it in pieces - granted it was already weak and falling apart. Still, now he was hyperventilating and Kaito could feel his anger. "Look, it's alright. It's-"
"Oh, it's not alright, Kaito" Shun replied, then looked at the screen. "It looks like me and Yuto are going to have a talk regarding keeping secrets from your best friend. ESPECIALLY, when said secrets involve your friend's SISTER!"
"Wait… Are you two dating or something?!" Yugo just realized what he was seeing.
"We were at one point but… Big brother broke us up… I still love him though." Ruri admitted despite knowing the possible consequences for doing so.
"Wait Ruri… y-you probably shouldn't say that here… especially in front of Shun… you remember what he said last time right?" Yuto was noticeably scared at the thoughts running through his mind right now.
"Don't worry! I'll protect you no matter what happens! Even if it's from my brother! Besides, it's true! I still love you! Don't tell me… our time apart has made you… not care about me anymore?" Ruri replied with enthusiasm that quickly turned into sadness at the thought that the person she cared about most might not feel the same for her anymore.
"Of course I still love you! But that's why I-" Ruri placed her index finger on his mouth to stop him from speaking any further.
"Then there's no problem." Ruri replied. Yuto wanted to speak up but he noticed tears start to come out of Ruri's eyes.
"You don't know how much… I've missed you…" Ruri started to cry tears of joy at having finally reunited with the person she's been away from for so long. In response, Yuto dropped all fears for his best friend's anger as he then gave Ruri a warm hug and kissed her lips.
At that moment, Yuya and Yugo realized that if Ruri was there, that must mean that the other girls had separated as well. At that moment, Yugo felt a tap on his shoulder. Realizing exactly who it must be, he instantly turned around and put on a big smile.
"RIN! I-" He was interpreted as he was then kicked right in the family jewels which caused his expression to turn into one in pain. It quickly turned back into a smile however as he saw it was the green haired synchro girl who nailed him. She had tears streaming down her face.
"YOU IDIOT! WHY DID YOU GO SO FAR TO SAVE ME! EVEN IF I WAS GONE, YOU WOULD STILL BE AROUND TO HELP ALL THE KIDS AT THE ORPHANAGE! STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID!" Rin shouted out as she banged her fists on Yugo's chest. She however did no real force so Yugo could tell that she really wasn't mad. The young man gave the girl a hug and started to apologize.
"Sorry about that… I just had to do everything I could to save you… even if it meant possibly dying in the process. You mean everything to me Rin… I-" The young man was cut off as a kiss was then placed on his cheek by the girl in question, the tears still streaming from her eyes.
"Thank's Yugo…" Yugo was now blushing hard from the kiss, although he now could tell that the tears coming from Rin were tears of joy.
"Such heart-warming scenes." Yuri remarked. "How stomach-turning." Meanwhile, a certain Lunalight fusion girl was keeping to herself. She didn't know who to properly speak to since she wanted to leave Yuya to Yuzu. After all, she never had properly met Yuri before.
"Yuya! You did it! You're now officially a pro entertainment duelist!" Yuya's friend Gong said with a smile as he ran over to Yuya.
"Thanks man. After everything that's happened, I honestly was starting to doubt that this day would ever come." Yuya replied.
"That's not true. It's more like you've been secretly doubting yourself because of everything that's taken place. But… I'm so proud of you sweetie." Yoko said as she ran to her son and hugged him, causing the boy to once again be embarrassed of the situation.
"Come on mom, i'm too old for hugs like this!" Yuya said while trying to forget everyone is watching him.
"Hey Yoko, that's not fair! I deserve some hugging action too!" Yusho whined.
"In a second honey. But now sweetie… there's a certain someone that wants to talk to you." Yoko didn't want to keep her husband or a certain pink haired girl waiting any longer.
"You mean-" Yuya cut himself off when he received a sudden hug from his childhood friend Yuzu.
"Yuzu, I… thank you for this…" Yuya was blushing a bit at this but Yuzu simply shook her head.
"No, I should be the one saying thank you. You've… You've done so much for me… you've saved the dimensions… and now you've accomplished your dream…" Yuzu then paused for a second, which Yuya noticed.
"Yuya… I…" Yuzu was about to continue but suddenly Yuya was glomped from the side by a certain short stacked fortune teller.
"DARLING! I'M SO HAPPY! YOU FINALLY DID IT! YOU BEAT YOUR DAD AND NOW YOU'RE THE BEST! I! LOVE! YOU!" Meiru screamed out with her usual hyper energy as she clinged to Yuya.
"Yuya… you… idiot!" Yuzu said as she slapped Yuya to the ground with her iconic paper fan.
"Ouch… well, this definitely proves everything is back to normal." Yuya said to himself.
"Mister Yuya! That was the best duel ever!" Tatsuya said as he, Ayu, and Futoshi arrived to congratulate Yuya on his victory. Meanwhile, Serena was thinking to herself.
"Why… Why did we split up again? I'm happy for it but… something doesn't feel right." Serena thought as she was then approached by Reiji.
"Glad to see you again Serena. It's been a while." Reiji said as he approached the girl standing on the sidelines. "Something bothering you? Is it the reactor?"
"N-Not really… everything is fine…" Serena was not being very believable considering the look on her face.
"Are you sure? Your face says otherwise." Reiji replied. "Look, you do not need to worry. If anything, this is a miracle. Both I and my father thought the separation impossible, yet here you are. Free. In fact, all of you are free, so why are you troubled? This seems more like a moment of celebration"
"I heard the professor say that someone messed with the reactor. Normally I would be happy because of me being freed but…" She figured Reiji could figure out the rest himself.
"I see. Me and him are going to check the reactor in more detail, actually. If it eases your worry, I will make sure to keep you posted, alright?" Reiji said. He didn't want to admit it, but he too was worried. His father was regarded as the greatest of minds, yet someone was able to one-up him. This was worrisome.
"Reiji… good luck…" Serena didn't want to admit it but she thought of Reiji as a good friend and didn't want him to get hurt. She also knew though that there was no choice in the matter so she relented. Reiji then went to his father and left.
Reiji went with Leo back to the reactor's main chamber, trying to inspect the device. "I can't believe it…" Leo muttered. "Whoever did this was no second-rate scientist. Somehow, they used the reactor to separate the boys and the girls without breaking apart the dimensions." He stated.
"However, the reactor is also drained of energy," Reiji remarked. "There is no amount of it left." He stated, then he looked over at Leo who had a sad face. "It's alright, father. I am sure Rey's is somewhere within one of the girls"
"I hope you are right, Reiji. Although I did horrible things, I never expected to be this forgiven in the end." The professor stated.
"You will atone in time. But for now, let's figure out what exactly was done to the reactor and try to understand it." Reiji stated, however, soon after, the two heard the door open and in walked a cloaked figure.
"Who are you? How did you get here?" Leo asked, but he got no reply. The stranger got their duel disk out instead, which looked like a basic Academia duel disk with no specific markings to it. "A duel?"
"I will take over." Reiji said, activating his own duel disk. "Whoever you are, I assume you had a hand in what happened with the reactor. If I win this duel, I expect you to tell me everything."
The figure didn't talk. "The silent type, huh? Very well! Duel!"
Reiji: LP: 4000. H: 5 VS Unknown: LP: 4000. H: 5.
Yuya and his friends after leaving the stadium went to the You Show dueling school to celebrate.
"Now that you're a professional duelist entertainment duelist, what's your plans from here son?" Yusho asked.
"Honestly… I don't know. I've always thought about getting to this moment but not about what comes after." Yuya replied. Meanwhile, Yugo was enjoying some hamburgers while Rin was facepalming as she saw Yugo stuffing himself like a child.
"Say ahh" Ruri said with a smile as she lifted up a spoon full of soup for Yuto.
"Come on Ruri, you don't need to feed me. I can do that myself." Yuto whined in reply.
"I know you can but I want to do this so don't complain. It's the least I can do for the one who saved me and the one I love." Ruri said with an even bigger smile as she fed Yuto the food.
"Hmph… the food here isn't all THAT good…" Yuri said quietly to himself. Yugo happened to overhear though.
"Hey, shut your face! The food here is great! They must have put a lot time into making it all to!" Yugo was annoyed at Yuri's typical assholeish attitude.
"Shut up Fusion boy who doesn't even use Fusions." Yuri replied.
"Dammit, I told you plenty of times that my name isn't fusion! Ugh, why are you even here anyway?! You're the reason all that crap happened to us in the first place! I'm gonna make you pay!" Yugo said as he was about to run over to attack Yuri but before he could, Rin held him back.
"Don't Yugo! This isn't the place or time for that! I know how you feel but please calm down!" Rin tried her best to calm down Yugo.
"Ha, it figures that weak trash would be held back by more weak trash. You two certaintly do belong together at least." Yuri said to the two synchro duelists. Rin was now getting annoyed as well and was close to letting go of the still angry Yugo to let him do as he wished.
"Hey now guys, calm down. This is a party after all. Settle your differences later." Yusho said to the three.
"But mister Yuya's dad, he defeated and carded you to! How can you be so not caring about all this!" Yugo asked.
"Simple. He's just a child. I know that he's been led down the wrong path by the only person who took care of him, but he's still just a child nonetheless. He's free now from the shackles that bind him so he has a chance to redeem himself to. Don't you think so as well my son?" Yusho said politely and maturely as possible.
"Yeah. I have to admit, I really hated you when I found out you carded my dad but… now I know it wasn't your fault that you ended up this way. Plus since we were originally the same person… can't we at least be friends?" Yuya asked as he put his hand out to Yuri for a handshake. The fusion duelist however simply scoffed and stood up.
"Don't get it twisted. While it is true that my job to capture you guys is over, that doesn't mean that we're just suddenly best friends now. Friends make you weak and I don't need such a thing. Especially not from you all. Now then, i'm leaving." Yuri then walked to the door.
"Sorry, can't let you do that. Akaba told me to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't just wander off. Now please, do this old man a favor and just stay put." Yusho said.
"Fine. If its what the professor wants then I suppose i'll wait for now. Speaking of which, wheres the bracelet girl from my dimension? Surprised she's not here fooling around like the rest of you." Yuri asked but the look he gave showed that he really didn't care ether way.
"That's right… Yuzu, Gong, where's Serena?" Yuya asked with concern in his voice.
"I don't know. Me and Gong have looked all over but we can't find her. I'm sure she'll be fine though. She's really strong after all." Yuzu said.
"Yeah! So don't get down in the dumps man! Although, that means more of your mothers awesome food for us!" Gong said reassuringly to his best friend Yuya.
"I hope you're right… besides, maybe she's with Reiji I guess." Yuya said. At that moment a nice sweet aroma was smelled through the room.
"Hey everyone, who wants cookies?" Yoko asked as she walked into the room with a tray of many different types of cookies in hand.
Reiji was still facing the stranger in the duel, but it was not going well for him. He had Beowolf out along with the Dark Contract with the Witch, and 2300 Life Points. His hand was exhausted, which he hated. But his opponent? They were not a bad duelist, Reiji is going to give them that, but they were skilled.
Professionally so, and unforgiving. They had a strange, female Synchro monster out which was mostly hidden in shadows with a glowing halo being the only visible trait. His Life Points were at 900, yet he didn't seem fazed by that. He had one card in his hand and his monster was equipped with an equip spell.
It was currently Reiji's turn. "My turn! I draw!" He declared drawing his card, but frowned upon seeing it. D/D Berfomet was not going to do him any good, except serving as fuel for his trap. "I use the effect of my contract to discard my monster and destroy your Synchro monster!" Reiji declared, watching as his contract shot a ray of light towards his opponent. To his joy, the monster was destroyed, but then he noticed a smirk under the hood of his opponent.
"Since Uriel was destroyed whilst equipped with Paradise Mace, the effect of my equip spell triggers in the grave!" He declared. "Urial is banished, but we both take damage equal to her attack on the field!"
"What?!" Reiji exclaimed and watched as a bright light covered the field, blinding everyone present.
Reiji VS Unknown: DRAW.
When he opened his eyes again, he frowned. The stranger vanished. However, he had made his point clear. Reiji could tell they were not using their full strength. Granted, neither was he, but he did struggle against them. None of them went full-force in this duel, the stranger having only used that one Synchro monster.
"Reiji!" Leo shouted, going to his son. "What was that? I never saw any of your duels end up in a draw before!"
"I do not know, but whoever that person was...They are dangerous."
