Darkness fell over Hyrule as The Demon King rested next to the Princess of Hyrule in sadistic satisfaction. This however, was far from the worst. As the night consumed the sky, a certain shadow was manifesting itself to a certain location…

"Almost there…I'm almost there…!" The shadow proclaimed as it moved through the shadows which were increased by the night sky.

"I'll show them…I'll show them all…!" It chanted as it absorbed enough light and shadows to manifest properly.

Then, upon reaching its destination, the shadow fully manifested itself into a familiar hero, but now with black clothes and silver hair.

.

.

.

"I…am the greatest hero ever!" Shadow Link proclaimed as he stared down the Master Sword deep in the Sacred Grove.

I did it before…I can do it again…! He told himself as he approached the Master Sword cautiously.

Then, he checked his hand, and saw that he had the triforce of courage with him, confirming his confidence and erasing his doubts…

…for the most part.

Shadow Link took a hold of the holy sword and began to pull it slowly but surely. His triforce of courage started to glow.

Come on…! I can feel it…! Just…a…little…more…! He said as he increased his strength.

But as strong and "worthy" as he was, Shadow Link was blasted back with an invisible force.

"NRAAAA!" He cried out in pain as he felt his hands burned by the grip.

He took a few moments to collect himself before noticing that the Master Sword didn't move from its spot at all.

I didn't pull it…why not?! Shadow Link yelled in his mind.

"So then…I really am just a worthless denizen of this land…?" Shadow Link murmured as despair entered his mind.

Suddenly, his triforce of courage glowed, and he felt a new surge of power.

Wait, what? Shadow Link asked himself.

When he got to his feet, he felt heavier. It was his back. A new sword rested on his back. He took a hold of it and unleashed it.

"This is…the Master Sword?!" Shadow Link claimed in disbelief.

His claim was quickly debunked. While the sword looked exactly like the Master Sword - its blade was space black. His unique scabbard for the sword no longer resembled the royal colors of Hyrule, but now it took on blood crimson and dark textures. The handle was transformed along with the blade.

No…it's different…this power…it's not like anything that I have felt before…!

Shadow Link eagerly took a swing at the air. Immediately, Twilight ripped through his striking area.

A prideful grin curled on his mouth.

Hehe…I'll take it! Shadow Link proclaimed triumphantly.

But then he felt a presence behind him.

Huh? Shadow Link said as he turned around to see who was behind him.

He couldn't make out what it was, but it was smaller than him, and had a quirky figure for a body…

"You're not my friend…" a voice said in the darkness.

Shadow Link knew that voice. It was the same voice that originally guided him - or more accurately Link - to the Master Sword's resting place a couple years ago.

"Skull Kid?" Shadow Link asked into the darkness.

No response.

Instead, the figure ran away.

"No wait! It's me! Link! The Hero of Hyrule! Your friend!" Shadow Link called out to him.

"Oh please…don't make me laugh…!" A sinister voice responded to him from above.

Shadow Link turned back around in frustration and looked up at the trees that towered above the grove. He couldn't see who or what it was, since the night sky and the shadows damped his vision, but it looked like a giant skeletal dragon. Its body had familiar neo-green markings to it.

Shadow Link pointed his new sword at the airborne beast above him.

"Who the hell are you?! Are you one of those Space Pirates that I encountered with my doppelganger?" Shadow Link called out to the creature.

"Me? Hmph. Don't worry about whatI am. For your sake - I'm a freak of nature. I've come on behalf of my Co-Commander. We'd like to give you an offer…" the creature sneered from above.

"Beat it Space Dragon! I got my own program! Now how about I test mynew blade on you to see just how strong I am…!"

The Dragon grinned sadistically.

"As much as I would love to tear open your flesh and feed you to my pirates, I still have one entity that I'd rather not piss off - so I'll do this the simple way…"

Then, the skeletal dragon pointed at Shadow Link, causing the false hero's body to evaporate into Twilight material.

Ngh…! What are you…?! Shadow Link said as he was reduced to Twilight atoms and teleported away.

"My my…this planet sure has interesting inhabitants…" The skeletal dragon said to himself before becoming airborne and flying into the night sky…

As Shadow Link was teleported to the Space Dragon's Co-Commander, The Heroes walked out of the Forest Temple after defeating its boss and obtaining some of Samus' missing gear…

"Those Space Pirates never stood a chance against us! Man, it feels good to be back!" Link said heroically.

Samus smiled at Link.

She obtained her Varia Suit from Flaahgra, the Boss from the Forest Temple. Her suit still resembles the colors of the Twilight Suit, but her armor is now complete.

"You can say that again…" Samus agreed with him.

Link turned to Midna who had an uneasy look on her face.

"Midna, are you alright?" Link asked her.

The Twilight Princess shook her head.

"No…I just have this…terrible feeling…" she said as she placed her hands over her heart.

Link and Samus looked at each other.

"What's wrong?" Samus asked her companion.

"…something has happened to the Princess of Hyrule," a familiar voice called from above their walkway.

The heroes looked up to see a golden wolf looking down at them with an upset expression. Tears formed in the monarch's eyes as she was reunited with her original wolf companion once again (referring to Twilight Princess' Manga).

"It's you…!" Midna proclaimed joyfully.

The Golden Wolf nodded.

"I apologize for not making my presence known to you sooner, your majesty, but we must take evasive actions - now. I too…share this same terrible feeling…" The Golden Wolf proclaimed.

Link was completely confused.

"What do you two mean? What's goi-UGH!" Link groaned in pain as he was forced to drop to his knees and clench his hand.

"Link! Are you alright?!" Samus asked as she placed a hand on his back and knelt beside him.

"Ugh…! Yeah I'm fine…it's just…the triforce." Link responded.

The mark of the triforce glowed brightly on his hand.

Something must have happened to Princess Zelda…! Midna can feel it too - since she and Zelda both shared the same spirit before. This is not good…! Link told himself.

"Hold on! What the hell is that?!" Midna said as she looked up to the night sky.

Everyone looked up and stared in shock as a giant skeletal dragon soared through the sky. It flew towards the direction of Hyrule Castle. As it flew overhead, it left a trail of Twilight matter in the sky.

"Ridley…!" Samus bellowed with hatred and anger.

"Who?" Link asked as he turned to the space warrior in curiosity.

"The leader of the Space Pirates…" Samus began,

"...he's one of my arch-nemesis. He was responsible for my homeworld's destruction - along with everyone that inhabited it. Ridley has an annoying habit of not staying dead. It looks like he's been upgraded again. I don't know how the hell that the Space Pirates revived this time around, but he's going to give us a lot of trouble if we all don't throw everything that we got at him…" Samus informed her allies.

After processing all of the information, Link clenched his fist.

"Then I'll re-obtain the Master Sword now! It shouldn't take that long, we're already in Faron Woods and-

"-Wait Link! Please! We need to go see Princess Zelda right now! I think that she's in serious trouble!" Midna begged Link as she wrapped her hands around his arm.

Link didn't want to say no, but knew that having the Master Sword would put him in an entirely different league, especially with all of the extra training that he did with The Hero's Shade.

"I…" Link began, unable to say what he wanted to say.

"…We'll split up." The Golden Wolf spoke out.

Samus, Midna, and Link turned to the wolf as he jumped down to their general area.

"Samus, you go with Princess Midna to see Princess Zelda. Link and I will go back to the Sacred Grove to reclaim the Master Sword. We'll rendezvous at Faron Wood's exit to Hyrule Field."

"Let's do it!" Link proclaimed, looking at Midna for her approval.

Midna bit her lip, but put her faith in the Golden Wolf's judgment.

"Okay…" Midna said as she slowly let go of Link.

Samus placed a hand on Midna's shoulder and nodded her head.

"Good luck…Link," Samus stated.

Link nodded,

"Same to you too."

With that, Midna teleported herself and Samus back to Hyrule's Castle, where Zelda was located.

Link's heart twisted in his chest. He looked at his predecessor.

"You need to be ready for anything, Link…" his father warned him.

"…not even I can foresee what new threats await in the darkness…"

As our heroes set out to safeguard the future of Hyrule, Shadow Link gets a warm welcome to the entity behind the scenes…

Where am I? Shadow Link said to himself.

The gravity in this area was lighter than what he was used to. He almost felt weightless. The building around him was lit by neon-blue lights, and the texture of it all was something that he had never seen before.

He looked to his right to see a giant window. The view was completely breathtaking.

"Am I…in space?" Shadow Link said out loud.

That was a cue for a particular entity to reach out to him.

"Welcome, True Hero of Hyrule. I was expecting you to show up. Would you mind entering the throne room in front of you?" A soothing voice said over the intercoms.

Shadow Link felt that he knew this voice, but couldn't quite put his finger on it. He of course, had all of the memories and experiences as Link himself, so the voice rang a bell.

Regardless, Shadow Link obeyed the voice, but really because he didn't have a choice in this situation.

The throne room automatically opened for him when he got close to it. There, Shadow Link stared down a giant room that led to stares midway through. On top of the stairs, an entity with dark blue armor was sitting in a chair and stared down at the dark hero. The leader was accompanied by two other high-ranking Space Pirate leaders, standing next to it.

"Fascinating…" a voice said inside the dark blue armor. The voice sounded feminine, almost as if it was aroused to see him.

"Leave us alone." The Leader ordered the Space Pirate Leaders in the room.

"Yes Ma'am," Both of them said as they exited the room.

Once they were gone, Shadow Link turned his attention to the person in charge.

"Who are you?" Shadow Link demanded.

"I'm whoever you want me to be…" The woman began, "...I can be your enemy, or your ally. I can be your friend, or your foe - a god - an angel - a lover - or a devil. It's honestly up to you…" she sneered out from underneath her armor.

Shadow Link felt that she meant business. Fighting his way out was clearly not going to get him out of here. The armored woman took note of his body language and rose to her feet.

"So then…" the woman said as her body armor automatically removed itself.

Once it was completely off of her, Shadow Link's crimson eyes widened.

.

.

.

The woman…looked exactly like Samus.

.

.

.

While her beautiful body and face were still present, there was a lot this woman that was different. The woman's hair was now dark blue. Her zero suit was almost completely black, but it had some neon-blue light that radiated from certain areas. Her skin was practically pale, and her full lips were shaded with a natural dark blue color. The most noticeable difference from all of this were her eyes. Her irises sparkled galactic neon-blue, just like the lights of the spaceship.

"Why don't we discuss that offer that my Co-Commander mentioned to you…?" Dark Samus requested with a seductive smile.
