Two chapters for the price of one today.
The wind flowed across the landscape, as the members of Team Venus prepared to start their training. Taki and her Pokémon, Roy, Suzuki, and Tracey, sat on the sidelines. Miguel straightened his jacket and took Small, pensive steps, locked in thought, before turning to face Team Venus.
"Alrighty then," he said. "How about we get started on mastering your attack moves."
Louis raised his hand.
"Uh...Dad, I don't know what attacks Lucario, Staraptor and Incineroar have."
"Oh...well, what better time to find out than now!"
First up was Staraptor. Louis appeared to be incredibly nervous about training, and Taki could've sensed it from a mile away.
The young adult swallowed the lump in his throat.
"Ok, Staraptor. Use...uh...Whirlwind?" he stammered.
The bird Pokémon locked eyes with her trainer.
"Louis, I don't know that move."
The young adult pondered for a brief moment.
"What about Double Team?" he questioned.
"Don't know that either."
"Take Down? Final Gambit? Endeavour?"
"No, no, and no."
Louis frowned. He turned his head to the left and called to his father.
"You see?" he said.
He returned his attention to Staraptor.
"Well...what moves do you know?"
"I know Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, Quick Attack, and Agility," answered Staraptor.
The young adult sighed in relief.
"Thank god, that makes things easier."
Both Louis and Staraptor moved to the centre of the training field.
Even though Louis now knew each of Staraptor's attacks, the training exercise did not go well. While the attacks appeared to be powerful, the accuracy was severely lacking. Which, in turn, caused some collateral damage to the field.
"Dammit Miguel, Aerial Ace was not a good suggestion," grumbled Incineroar.
Miguel blushed in embarrassment. Louis began to sweat. A mixture of anxiety and worry causing salty beads to form on his forehead.
"Uh...sorry Suzuki!" he called.
Suzuki rubbed the back of his head.
"Eh...that's alright," the staff member reassured.
"Well...that kinda sucked," said Cinderace.
Taki gently elbowed Cinderace's arm. Roy peered over Tracey, noticing that he was sketching an image of both Louis and Staraptor. He grinned.
"Uh..." paused Miguel. "Maybe I'm not cut out to be a proper coach just yet."
"...why don't we get Coach himself to help out?" suggested Taki.
An imaginary light bulb illuminated above Suzuki's head.
"That's a great idea," he said.
A short and simple chapter. But...I guess Miguel will definitely need some help in this new job.
