Chapter 4
The two guys licked their lips in anticipation as they started to walk towards Uraraka who was still sleeping, on the swing. Defenseless.
"Let's have some fun with this one," the dark-haired guy said as he was about to place his eager hands on Uraraka's soft skin. However, he was stopped when a loud explosion went off right behind them.
"If you touch her, I will blow your fucking heads off."
The two guys turned around to face a scowling Bakugou Katsuki with explosions going off in his palms.
"Huh? Who the hell are you!?" They both asked at the same time.
"Her boyfriend or something?" the dark-haired guy asked a raised eyebrow jerked up at the question.
Bakugou lowered his stance slightly, getting ready to attack any minute. "I'm the guy who will kick your asses before you even know it!" Bakugou growled. An explosion went off in his hands.
"Two against one," one of the guys said with a smile on his lips, "this is going to be easy."
Bakugou set off another explosion as a wicked smile ran across his lips.
It didn't take long before the two guys ran away from the playground, covered in bruises and a few burn marks from Bakugou's explosions.
"Pff, so weak," Bakugou muted to himself, a smirk almost working its way onto his lips before he turned around to face the still sleeping Uraraka. How she was able to keep sleeping after everything that just went by, was beyond him.
"You're fucking lucky I was here, Round face," he said as he sat down on the other swing next to her. Waiting.
The sun was starting to set, colouring the sky in a warm pink, as Uraraka slowly woke up, battering her heavy eyes a few times as she slowly groaned. Her body was aching more than it did before.
Although she had expected to be cold after sleeping in her training clothes outside in who knows how long. But, she was surprisingly cozy and warm. And that was when she noticed a hoodie was placed on her shoulders, protecting her against the looming cold.
"You're finally awake," a dark and raspy voice said from beside her and that was the moment she found out that Bakugou was sitting next to her. Which was also the moment she realized the hoodie might have been his.
"Wh-What are you doing here!?" Suddenly she could smell the sweet scent of caramel coming from the hoodie that was wrapped around her shoulders, keeping her warm. A blush was starting to grow on her cheeks when she slowly dared to look at the usually very aggressive blond.
"You shouldn't be sleeping out here," he said with an unusually calm voice. "Although I'm surprised you were even able to sleep on a swing without falling off," he added, and Bakugou almost chuckled, but in the end, he settled for a snort.
"Oh my God," Uraraka hid her burning face in her hands, mortified that Bakugou Katsuki had seen her sleep. On a swing. She silently hoped that she hadn't been drooling - or worse, snoring.
"Chill, Cheeks," Bakugou said as he pushed himself on the ground, "you were just sleeping."
Uraraka could hardly believe her ears, was Bakugou actually trying to reassure her?
"I'm sorry, how long have you been here?" She couldn't help but ask. She felt slightly guilty.
About one or two hours. Bakugou thought, but instead, he said: "Not that long."
"Oh, that's good," Uraraka sighed in relief, she had feared Bakugou would have been there for too long. Although that didn't sound like something Bakugou would do in the first place.
"Yeah alright, I'm leaving," Bakugou walked a few steps before he stopped, "you should get home as well."
"R-Right," Uraraka hurried on her feet and fought a blush as she ignored her beating heart pounding against her chest once again.
Uraraka grabbed her bag that was lying on the ground, not noticing a small part of the fabric was burnt. She swung it around her shoulders and even though her muscles were screaming from fatigue, she started to run, yelling a 'thank you' to Bakugou, who lifted a lazy hand in acknowledgment before he as well, went back to his own apartment.
That evening Uraraka stood longer under the shower than she usually did. Her body was aching and her mind was exploding from all the things that had happened the previous days. She closed her eyes as she let the hot water calm her.
As she took the peach-scented shampoo and lathered her hair, she thought about her day, or rather, she thought about how she had practically run away from Midoriya doing training. The mortification started to build up in her body. She wondered what he must have been thinking and that was when she started to dread that he might have noticed how she had been looking at him? And hasn't she been acting weird lately? There's no way that Midoriya hadn't noticed, right? Uraraka frantically rinsed her hair as she tried to push the thought away.
When Uraraka was done with her shower, she wrapped her damp body in a towel after drying her hair.
She walked back into her room and suddenly noticed something unusual, her phone was lightening up; a new message. As Uraraka unlocked her phone, she felt her heart jump up in her throat. It was a message from none other than Midoriya. Uraraka swallowed hard as she braced herself with courage as she opened the message.
[From Midoriya]: You seemed a bit odd today, are you okay?
Ah, he really did notice. Well, it shouldn't be much of a surprise with the way she had been acting today.
Uraraka quickly typed an answer with a beating heart, it wasn't often Midoriya messaged her and it made her strangely nervous.
[To Midoriya]: I'm sorry for suddenly running off today.
[From Midoriya]: So, did you really have to practice on your quirk?
Leave it to Midoriya, nothing goes by his nose that easily.
Uraraka frantically started to type some kind of answer before she got distracted by a very familiar silhouette out of the window. It was Bakugou, clearly just gotten out of the shower as well. One single towel was wrapped around his lean hips, dangerously low. Uraraka started to frail with her hands frantically at the sight, almost dropping her phone in the process. And as she did so, her movements made her drop the towel that was wrapped around her own body. Shortly she was almost sure that Bakugou's gaze was turned to her and she started to scream in embarrassment as she hurried to grab the towel from the floor to cover her naked body.
Afterward, she found out that she accidentally pressed send to Midoriya on the phone.
"Oh no!" Uraraka exclaimed as she saw the message she sent and again frantically sent a new message to him.
Her heart felt like she had just run a marathon, as well as her face, was blushing hard.
Midoriya raised an eyebrow in question when he saw the reply from Uraraka.
[From Uraraka]: I &"#
Shortly after a new message arrived.
[From Uraraka]: I just needed to switch the type of training for a while, that's all.
Midoriya frowned shortly, it didn't sound like Uraraka at all, and the way she left all of a sudden made him suspicious that something was going on. Maybe he needed to ask her, it felt like she had been avoiding him, which was weird, usually, Uraraka didn't know of the word 'personal space'.
For the time being, Midoriya just answered her message before he brushed his teeth and went to bed.
[To Uraraka]: Okay. See you tomorrow though, right?
