Chapter 7: The Age of Tony Stark Part 2

Cap slowly opened his eyes, no longer feeling the shield covering his head. His body was sore from the rocks, but he knew he'd be fine. He pushed himself up with a small grunt and looked up,seeing the fight happening between some small glowing ball firing lasers at Rogue while he tried to swat at it… Maybe he'd hit his head harder than he thought.

"Dammit Pym! Stop it!" Rogue shouted in frustration. Cap could've sworn Rogues lenses on his helmet were glowing. Steve then remembered that Red Skull had escaped. He reached up to the com-link in his ear as he started running to find Tony or Skull. Whichever came first.

"Tony, report in," He said, hoping the boy could hear him and Skull hadn't gotten to him first.

00

Tony had on a pair of safety goggles as he worked on a piece of his armor. He paused a minute to look at a peice of paper. "But how would the joints...oh I get it! Nice job me, you've always been a genius," he said. He felt pain flare up in his chest and held it as the time stone glow got brighter in his chest. He grabbed it and fell on his knees, breathing heavily. Another time blast was about to happen. He tried to calm down to stop it but it didn't work. The blast errupted from his chest.

00

Falcon flew over another squad of robots as they advanced, dodging their fire.

"Twenty more robots, three arrows," Hawkeye said as Viral took out another robot. He was taking cover behind a delivery truck from the fire they were taking from said robots.

"Then the odds are in our favor," Widow said, looking at the robots through the windows of the bus she was behind. Viral glanced back at the Russian spy turned super hero, trying to decide if that was sarcasm or not. Falcon flew by her and between the bus and delivery vehicle.

"I hope the next time plate brings us something we don't have to fight," he said as he landed on the side Hawkeye and Widow were on. He was getting fatigued and the robots just seemed to keep on coming.

"Oh yeah, I hope there's no next time plate!" Hawkey replied to him. Viral joined them in taking cover as she jumped over the car that was stuck right between the delivery truck and bus and crouched behind it. She was breathing heavily. She'd never really used her ability like this before, let alone for this long. It was starting to strain her mind. Just then the time plate came through, bringing a squadron of old planes to them.

"Looks like you're unlucky day Hakweye!" Widow said as she looked up at the planes flying above the city. Viral made a face.

"Why did y-y-you have tttoo ji-I-I-I-i-innnx it," the hacker said and then grimaced at what her voice did. Falcon was watching the planes with great interest so he didn't notice this time, but Widow and Hawkeye did.

"What the heck was that?" Hawkeye asked. She swallowed hard.

00

Rogue was really getting tired of this. Pym wasn't giving up and it was very annoying, not to mention it stung.

"Pym lay off already!" He shouted in frustration. He swung at Pym again, except this time he did it so he could grab the kid. A yelp came from Pym as Rogues hand closed around him. "Ha! Gotcha!" He said. However he felt a stinging sensation a second later. It grew and grew until finally Rogue had to let go. He shook his hand in some pain as he looked around for Pym. The boy couldn't easily be seen so he must be hiding.

"Hawk we've got a problem.. Hawk? Hawk answer me damn it!" Rogue tried to contact his teammate, but they failed to answer.

Suddenly another shot came out of nowhere and hit his gauntlet, causing it to spark. Pym wanted to make sure his friend couldn't use that shield of his to block his stings. However, to the flying boys surprise, he watched something flicker around Rogue before dissipating completely. His eyes widened at what he saw when Rogue turned to glare at him. What looked like red circuitry was peaking out under the edge of the helmet, the origin being his eyes. That was the only circuitry on his face. On his chest and shoulders, glowing through his clothes, were more circuitry. It even went up his neck a little. It all connected in the middle of James' chest, where it formed none other than a power symbol.

Pym felt himself flying back in his shock. "Wha-what happened to you?" He said, horror and fear in his voice. The glowing of the circuitry got brighter.

"You really shouldn't have done that Pym," Rogue said and his tone of voice sent chills down Pyms spine. It wasn't monotone any more. It was angry, even sounding a little borderline psychotic! He screwed up... big time!

00

The planes moved in and began firing on the heroes, forcing them to move or be shot. Viral jumped behind a car for cover, breathing hard as this was beginning to give her bad flashbacks.

"Are we just going to pretend like we didn't just hear hear speak like a broken speaker?" Hawkeye asked as he crouched behind a car adjacent to Viral.

"We're bei-i-ing Shot a-at and you wa-a-a-a-nt to focus on m-my voice?" Viral said, still glitching badly do to the stress and the horrible memories pushing at her mind.

"Less talking more smashing!" Hulk said and threw a bus at the planes to try and take them down, which he succeeded in doing to one of them. It began to spin out of control and head for the tower. Luckily Thor was up in the sky...with a pterodactyl biting his leg.

"You will not feed on Asguardian today beast!" he said as he raised his hammer to his the dinosaur, only to see where the out of control plane was headed. He summoned his lightning and fired it at the plane, successfully destroying it before it could crash into the tower.

00

The door to the lab in the tower whooshed open, allowing Skull to enter with his crossbow pointed out. He was ready to shoot the boy if it got him what he wanted. He aimed in as he looked at the scattered iron man armor on the floor. He knew Tony had to be in here.

"Come out," He said as he carefully proceeded through the room. The noise of something dropping or falling off a bench and clanging on the ground made him pause and look in the direction it came from. "Little Boy..." he called again. "Come out Come out wherever you are."

Tony was hiding behind and under the table he'd been working at. Sweat dripped down his face and his heart pounded in his chest. He glanced over at the iron man helmet that was on the floor not far away from him on the floor. He could see Skulls reflection in it. The red skinned man seemed to glance down a moment before turning and walking away. Relief flooded the boy billionaire, allowing him to close his eyes and let out a silent breath he didn't know he'd been holding. When he opened his eyes again he looked back at the helmet as something pulled at his mind. His brown eyes widened when he realized that, while he could see skulls reflection before, from where Skull had been standing he'd be able to see him. He jerked his head upward when a red hand came around the table top, followed by Skulls face peering over at him.

"Yes..." the crazy man said. Tony quickly jumped out from under the table and crab walked almost backward, keeping his eyes on the man on top of the table.

"Get away from me!" The boy yelled in fear. He couldn't back up any more. The guard rail that surrounded the work area and the table was at his back.

"Don't...be such...a baby," Skull said as he reached down from his position and grabbed Tony by the shirt, lifting him up in the air. "Time Stone!" he somewhat shouted as Tony kicked his legs back and forth and pulled on his arm, trying to get free. The boy could hear his heart rate as increased while he panicked. The glow of the stone in his arch reactor got brighter, drawing Skulls attention to it. The man reached for it as the glow exploded from Tony's chest, causing another time shift that forced Skull to drop him as he was thrown to the wall by it. Tony landed on the ground and turned over. He saw that the helmet and rocket skates he'd taken out of his closet earlier and brought here weren't very far away from him.

Skull began to laugh as he pushed himself up from his place on the ground. "Ah younger," he said as he stood up completely. "It's good to be back." Tony too had managed to stand up with the help of the table and he glared at Skull.

"The Avengers are gonna be here any minute to kick your red can!" he said, pointing at Skull, who simply shook his head at him.

"Your friends are occupied with the chaos you've created," The man said as he approached the boy. He reached out to grabbed Tony who was practically frozen with that realization. "Now-" He was cut off by a training drone ball hitting him in the face, making him stumble away from the boy. Tony quickly turned his head to see who had done that. Cap stood there, hold another one of the training balls in his hand. The billionaire had never been so happy to see the soldier in his life.

"Picking on kids? That's a new low. Which means a lot considering it's you," Cap said as Skull recovered from the attack. He looked over at Tony as the boy put on the rocket skates and helmet. Skull tried to rush Tony, which didn't work.

"Jet skates deploy!" Tony said, activating the rockets on the skates and jetting forward, knocking Skull over. Cap rushed Skull in an attempt to tackle him. However, the enemy used his own weight to throw him over.

"I have been waiting to do that," Skull said. Cap flipped in the air and landed on his feet. Quickly he threw the other training ball at Skull, hoping to hit him. The red skinned man dodged it and ran at Cap again.

Meanwhile Tony had skated over to the table he'd been working at and picked up his drill. "Come on, come on!" he said as he worked to try to get his armor working.

00

"Alright gang, we're outnumbered and outgunned and little miss glitchy over there looks like she'll fall over any minute now," Hawkeye said. His friends and himself were standing with their backs to each other, forming a large circle that was surrounded by dinosaurs and robots. "We've handled worse right?"

"I'm not sure that's true," Falcon said, looking at their terrible odds.

"And since Tony and Cap aren't here," Hawkeye continued as if Sam hadn't said anything. "I finally get to say it. Aven-"

"Avengers Assemble!" Thor cut him off, much to Clints displeasure.

"Oh come on!" Clint shouted as they all moved to fight their surrounding enemies.

00

"Any sign of them yet?" The girl with wings semi yelled over the wind as she flew side by side with Torunn.

"No. I can't seem to see much else other than robots," Torunn said before swooping downward and driving her sword through a robot that was attacking some pedestrians. She flew back up to the girl then and continued looking for their friends.

00

"James stop!" Pym yelled at Rogue as he blocked a punch. This seemed to enrage him more.

"THAT'S NOT MY NAME!" Rogue yelled and went for a punch again, forcing Pym to shrink down again. He wasn't as good at hand to hand combat as James. Sure he knew how to hold his own, but Pym was always one of the distance shooters of their team and the smarter one. If he didn't keep shrinking and growing at this point he was sure James would've had him on his back by now, which is a scary thought.

"Yes it is! Come on James, snap out of it!" He tried again.

"SHUT UP!" Rogue yelled and grabbed Caps shield from the ground, throwing it as hard as he could at the glowing yellow dot. Pym let out a yelp and dropped down low as the shield wedged itself into the wall behind him. He looked up at the shield with wide eyes and then at Rogue. He had to duck again because while he was focused on the shield, Rogue had charged at him. Pym took the opportunity that Rogue had his back to him and grew, firing one of his stingers. It hit Rogues back and made him gasp from surprise and pain. Those stingers hurt a lot more when Pym is normal size. Rogue grit his teeth and grabbed the shield, tearing it out of the wall. He was done getting hit with those things.

00

"Time Stone is mine!" Red Skull shouted as he kicked Cap back when he had tried to hit him. Cap stumbled back a minute before charging at skull. He put his arm against Skulls chest as he pushed him to the wall.

"The last place that kind of power belongs is in your hands," Cap said before Skull grabbed his shoulders and kicked off the wall, throwing him of balance and sending both of them flying back and to the ground. Cap was the one who took the brunt of the landing.

"Now that my mind has returned you will Never CONTAIN ME AGAIN!" Skull shouted as he punched Cap repeatedly. Tony could hear Cap struggling and looked over at them, pausing in his work. A determined look crossed his face and he turned his back to his work table. He kicked his skates up in the air, making the jets on them activate. The flew toward Skull and knocked him off Cap. Skull recovered quickly and turned to rush Tony. Cap got up in between them and punched skull as hard as he could, sending him flying. Cap rushed to get to wear he had landed and was laying on the floor. He didn't want to give skull a second to recover.

"Right mind or not, you're going back to your cell Skull," Cap said as he reached down to grab said person. Before he could, Skull grabbed onto one of the pieces of armor around him, the chest plate to be exact, and hit Cap with it. He grabbed a fist full of caps uniform and shoved him to the wall with one hand, keeping him at arms length. He then threw Cap across the room, knocking him into the filing cabinet, among other appliances. Cap recovered some and looked back at Skull in time to see him grab young Tony from behind by the arms and lift him in the air.

"Let go of me!" Tony demanded as he struggled against Skulls grip.

"The time stone is mine!" Skull shouted in victory.

"As if!" Tony said as he glared back at Skull before looking back at the table where he'd been working. "Now!" he commanded. The armor on the table began to shake and rise up, flying every which way. The armors forearm smacked Skull in the face, making him let go of Tony. The rest of the armor proceeded to basically attack Skull before head to where the pieces were supposed to go.

Tony held out one arm and let the armor fore arm slide onto it. Then he did the same for the other arm and his right leg. When the boot of the armor attached itself to his left foot, the jets in them activated, making him fly up and let out a small surprised yell. To correct the problem so he didn't run into the wall, he did a flip in the air and bounced off the wall when his feet touched it. While all this had been going on, Skull was busy trying to get the chest plate off of his face. His head had become stuck in the hole in the center of it. As soon as it was free from his face it flew up and attached to Tony's chest like it was meant to. The last part of his body armor joined and the armor formed around his middle torso and arms and legs. Tony let out a triumphant laugh as this happened and Cap, who had watched all of this with an amazed and slightly proud smile, had his mouth open in awe. Finally the faceplate hit Skull in his hind quarters before flying up and completing the armor set.

"I. Am. IRONKID!" Tony declared once the armor was complete.

'Good job, Tony' Cap thought. He knew he could do it.

"Pathetic," Skull said as he looked at the kid in the air. He jumped up to grab him so he could get the time stone, but Tony fired off continuous repulser beams at him. Tony flew back and hit the wall because of the knock back but he kept firing. Skull got pushed straight out the window, where he was grabbed by a pterodactyl in the air. Tony slid down the wall to the bottom, relieved that that worked.

"Tony, you okay?" Cap asked as he ran up to him, concerned that he had been hurt and that was why he was slumped against the wall like that. he knelt in front of Tony and put his hand on his shoulders, visually checking for damages. Tony's faceplate slid up and he smiled.

"I'm awesome!" He said with excited tone of voice. The he looked a little awkward. "Um…can you help me up?" he asked. Cap smiled and nodded, lifted Tony up, setting him down on his feet. He let go and watched as Tony tested his balance, still kneeling in front of him. He stood up straight and looked at Cap, about to say something. The glow in his chest got brighter and the feeling of dread about another time shift filled his body. He covered his arc reactor with his hand, looking down at it with a scared expression.

"I…can't…control…" He said, feeling it getting closer and closer to a shift with each word. Cap knew though, that Tony was the only one who could stop this from happening.

"Focus Tony. You have the power to stop the time slips," Steve encouraged him. Doubt was in Tony's mind though, swirling with fear.

"What if it doesn't work? What if I deage into nothing? What if I destroy the universe!" Tony said, tears welling up with each new terrifying possibility he voiced out loud. "Cap I'm scared," he admitted as the tears started falling down his face. Cap put a hand on Tony's shoulder.

"There's no need to be, son," Cap told him.

"Easy for you to say. You're a big, brave superhero," Tony said, looking up with his big brown tear fill eyes. Cap smiled slightly.

"I was brave long before I was Captain America," he said, taking off his mask. He looked over at the paper that was the picture Tony had drawn all those years ago if the iron kid armor. "And Tony Stark was a hero long before he was Iron Man." Tony looked over at that paper and then back at Cap. He nodded lightly and stared at Steve a moment, before closing his eyes and hugging him quickly, much like a shy child does when they're scared or unsure. Steve froze for a second, before wrapping his arms around Tony comfortingly.

The tears of fear still rolling down Tony's cheeks, he reached into his arc reactor and slowly removed the stone. He knew that no matter what happened, his friend and the man he looked up to for many years was right there beside him. An orange light engulfed them both.

00

As they scoured the city for their friends from the sky, Torunn and the winged girl helped who they could. The city was in chaos. Finding their friends was like looking for a needle in a screaming haystack. Torunn had no idea of how to find them.

"Do you feel that?" The girl asked, making Torunn stop flying and look back at her where she was.

"Feel what?" The Asquardian asked. The girl didn't answer. "Raven?" She asked. Raven looked at Torunn and blinked before gaining a determined look on her face.

"The air current changed and something.. new.. It's gotta be her!" She took off, following the air current and the strange sound like thing in the air she could barely hear. It was like some kind of... signal that was calling to her. It had to be her. She just knew it.

The wind seemed to bend and flow with her, guiding her along the path of the sound, working with her. Her eyes stung from the air and she couldn't see well, so she was grateful for the help. Soon fighting came into view and the sound more distinct. She angled herself to shoot downward. She was too close… there!

"VIRAL!" Raven shouted as she pulled up to hover in the air.

0 (Third Person P.O.V~Viral. A few minutes earlier)

Viral backed away from the half dozen robots advancing on her. She was glitching so badly that her right eye was no longer human looking. Where the white was there was now a dark blue and where her iris and pupil were it was a completely red circle. She was super close to an overload. The Avengers were busy with their own robots and dinos to help at the moment, and her voice box wasn't functioning properly.

"St-st-sta-stack-start-stick-st-st-stay b-b-b-bec-ba-back!" She tried saying, her voice barely sounding human now. The robots didn't listen of course and continued forward. Her breathing quickened greatly. She could hear her blood pumping in her ears. Her systems sparking. Something was happening. "n-n-n-N-No! No! NO!" she yelled as a frequency pulse erupted from her. The pulse passed through the robots, both surrounding her and that were keeping the Avengers busy, causing them all to stop in their place. She stared at them as she breathed heavily. Her right eye looked as if it fizzled a bit, like something was covering it.

"VIRAL!" a familiar voice shouted from above. Her head shot up and she looked at the owner of the voice. A relieved smile crossed her face.

"Raven!" She called happily, grateful her voice didn't glitch this time, and she ran between the frozen robots as Raven moved down. She could feel eyes on them, but she didn't care. She finally found her friend. Around her the robots started shaking and just as the two were about to meet, they exploded, sending Raven flying away from Viral.

"No!" Viral yelled as an orange light went through the smoke of the robots and hit her. In a blink she had vanished, along with Raven, the robots and the dinosaurs that had been running around.

00

Pym was still fighting Rogue. He was determined to get him to listen to him. Though it wasn't going very well. Rogue kept blocking his shots with Cap's shield and he was scared of getting close, but he had to stop his friend somehow! Pym kept Rogue at as much of a distance as he could, trying to think of a plan. He had to get that shield away from Rogue somehow. He had to think… He fired more stingers at Rogue before he got an idea. Anger distracts. If he got Rogue a little angrier, he'll slip up…

He grinned and put his semi plan into action. He kept firing at Rogue and very first chance he got, he'd pull a move that would somehow hit Rogue. There! He knocked a piece of the ceiling lose with a blast. Rogue had to move the shield up to keep it from hitting his head and that was exactly what Pym expected him to do. He took the chance to fly up and grow, firing another stinger at his friends torso, causing him to stumble back. This time he didn't give him a chance to recover.

Pym ran up, going in for a punch which got blocked by the shield. Perfect. He grabbed the shield, attempting to get it away from Rogue and use it himself. However, Rogue was much stronger than him so getting him to let go was harder than anticipated. Pym didn't let go though. In fact he held on, tightly, pulling as hard as he could. They were locked in a game of tug-a-war for mere moments, but moments was all that was needed.

In the middle of their little pulling match an orange light split the air and passed over them. Pym felt his stomach lurch and his mind grow dizzy like before, but there was something else there this time, something solid. Something that felt like an anchor against the thing pulling him in the other direction and for some reason, he held to that anchor like his life depended on it.

00

All around the city, the dinosaurs and robots disappeared as the orange light passed over everything. People relaxed and cheers spread out. Everyone was safe once more... for now.

000

"I've contained the time stone," Tony said to his team over the coms, looking at the time stone in a containment field maintained by the robots in his lab. "That should solve our problems."

"That was you?" Falcons voice came through with surprise in it, followed by a disappointed 'awe' from Hawkeye. Jarvis then cut into the comms.

"Sir there are still intruders in the tower, on the prison level," the AI informed him. Steve looked at Tony as he remembered who he'd left down there.

"Rogue!" he said and ran to the door to leave.

"I'll come too, we can't let Rogue get away this time," Tony said, about to bring up one of his other sets of armor.

"No," Cap stopped him. "You stay here. If Rogue does get passed me we don't need him getting his hands on something as powerful as an infinity stone." Tony sighed and nodded, understanding.

"You're right, but be careful. Try to keep him there, at least until I can get some of Jarvis' defenses back online," he stated seriously. Cap nodded and started running again. Tony looked back at the security feed, or what was left of it, narrowing his eyes at it. Because of all the damage the tower sustained, it was a bit behind, but he could still clearly see that the other person in that room with him was trying to stop him. Until the time stone wave came through. Both Rogue and the kid seemed affected by it, but Rogue far less than the kid. He was practically leaning on the shield Rogue was holding and Rogue seemed to only be dazed, however Tony couldn't be sure due to the fact that the camera the feed was coming from was behind Rogue so he couldn't see his face.

00

Rogue felt a little nauseous and dizzy when the orange light passed over him. However, he quickly recovered from it and looked at the boy in front of him who was practically leaning on the shield he was holding. It took him a second to remember what had happened. But as soon as he did and he saw Pym, he grew angry once more. He knocked the dizzy boy down with his shield and glared.

0(~Pym~)

Pym was still very much out of it and couldn't pull himself together enough to fight back much less keep from falling when he was knocked off the shield as he'd been affected much worse than Rogue. He looked up at the red head, eyes unable to focus on him and face looking a little pale. Rogue looked at him with a searing hatred that added nervousness and hurt to the mix of feelings and nausea he had. He didn't know what had happened to his friend to make him like this... He had no idea what he went through during the year he was gone that turned him into this...He hoped James was still in there cause while he'll still try to fight, with what that orange light did to him, he wasn't sure he could win against him.

He would have jumped when he heard the shield clang beside him on the ground had his stomach and head not protested so much to the movement. He looked back up at Rogue, eyes focusing a little on him this time. He felt some hope for a moment as he realized the shield was on the floor, which meant the red head wasn't gonna use it on him. However, that hope quickly faded when he saw that Rogue had his hand balled into a fist.

0 (~Rogue~)

Rogue had thought that the program had prevented him from feeling, so attachments couldn't form and problems wouldn't arise amongst team members. Emotions, to him, were a weakness that could be exploited and can cloud your judgement, it why they're supposed to be eliminated. This was evidently not the case, because he felt so much anger directed towards the boy in front of him that he could probably go two rounds with the Hulk in hand to hand combat and survive. He was beyond pissed and it only seemed to fuel the red circuitry on his body, making it glow brightly. He balled his hand into a fist as he dropped the shield.

'Pym is going to pay for getting in the way of my mission... and he's going to pay slowly.' He thought darkly as he grabbed the boy with his other hand, yanking him up. Pyms face seemed to go a little paler from the sudden movement and he looked like he was gonna be sick. Nevertheless, he still struggled as best he could like this. It was pathetic.

Rogue scowled menacingly before punching Pym in jaw, hard. Smiled somewhat sadistically when he saw some blood run down the side of the kids mouth and the surprise and fear in his even more unfocused eyes. He wasn't done yet though. He punched him twice more before dropping him and kicking him in the stomach before he could recover much. A gasp escaped the boys lips and he curled up on himself from the pain.

Rogue got down on his knees, keeping pressure on Pym to keep him from getting up if he tried as he turned him onto his back. He pulled his fist back and was about to bring it down on Pym, when he suddenly felt a shock go through his arm and it began to shake. He tried to bring it down again, only to find that his arm seemed to be locked up. The glow around his circuitry flickered some before dulling. It took him a second to realize what was happening. He was losing control. James had gained a foothold in his mind. Pym, despite being in pain, seemed to notice what was going on, and was confused by it.

Rogue swallowed hard and felt himself fall forward a bit, but managed to catch himself with one hand. James was fighting hard, really hard, to get control back. It was already taking its toll. He grit his teeth and closed his eyes focus. Time seemed to slow down for him as he worked against James.

00(~inside Rogues mind~)

Rogue opened his eyes and found himself in front of a plethora of screens, replaying and recording events as they happened. He stared at them a moment before growling lowly. Hearing someone come up on him, he quickly turned around and blocked an attack from James, who had tried to sneak up on him. Rogue quickly countered by landing a punch to his stomach as hard as he could. James fell to the ground. To Rogues surprise, he too felt pain in his stomach area, but not nearly as bad, just a dull throb. It was easy to ignore though and he reached down and grabbed A fist full of James' hair, yanking him up and forcing him to look at him.

James glared back at him with a fire in his eyes that Rogue hadn't seen in a while. However, Rogue wasn't worried about him though as he still looked like he'd gone to hell and was stuck there. He growled at him, before punching him. Brushing off the twinge he felt, he picked him up and tossed him into the cage at the back of the room, shutting and locking the door before he could get up. For added measures, he reinforced the lock and the cage. James glared at him through the bars, but he didn't care.

Rogue looked back at the screens and saw that Pym was still very disoriented, but looked confused. He was catching on to what had just happened. Time to get back out there then, before he can get away.

00(~outside Rogues mind~)

Rogue opened his eyes again, feeling a little dizziness that soon passed. He glared at Pym and leaned back, ready to punch the boy again who's eyes were now filled with fear rather than confusion. He didn't get the chance though as a good sized chunk of concrete was tossed at him, forcing him to jump away from Pym to dodge it. He kept his back to the person who threw it, remembering his circuitry showing, and simply glanced back to see who it was. There stood the great Captain America, who was unfortunately still alive thanks to Pyms earlier intervention. He shot the man and Pym a glare before running for one of the holes in the room on the opposite side from Captain America.

0(~Captain America~)

"Oh no you don't, not this time!" Steve said and chased after him, after checking to see that Pyms alright. "Tony there's an injured kid in the prison room. Send someone there," he told said person over coms and as he slowly was catching up to Rogue. He wasn't gonna let the kid get away again. Too many questions and too many dangers surrounded him. They needed to catch him while they still could.

0(~Rogue~)

Rogue looked back as he was once again being chased through Avengers tower by Captain America. He scowled at the man and focused on forming an escape plan.

"Rogue, you done in there yet?" Hawks voice came through on his coms. Rogue was really really tempted to yell at him or something, but now wasn't the time.

"No, I got caught because Pym showed up and ruined my whole plan! 'm probably gonna need your help to get out of this," Rogue said quietly into his coms. Hawk sighed.

"Fine, what do you need me to do?"

00

The rest of the team was walking back to the tower, seeing as there was no threat outside anymore.

"Where'd she go?" Falcon muttered too himself. He's spent several minutes after the time stone fixed everything looking for Viral.

"Probably got sent back to wherever she came from," Hawkeye said, figuring that the girl was from another time like everything else that had shown up. Sam didn't like the way that set in his stomach, remembering what she had said about this being the first time she was outside.

"Yes, and with everyone back in their home time we should celebrate our victory!" Thor exclaimed, the others agreeing slightly.

"That celebration's gonna have to wait Thor. Rogues back and he's in the tower," Tony told them through the coms. "Get back here as soon as you can. Widow, you'll need to get to the prison room. A kid's hurt in there." They all looked at each other, wondering what a kid was doing in the tower before they began running/flying there.

00

Rogue turned down another hall, barely dodging Caps shield. He knew he was almost within grabbing distance which wasn't good. Quickly looking around, Rogue noticed a shelf in the room he was running through coming up. As best he could, he quickly turned and pushed the shelf over, making it fall on Cap. He used the precious extra seconds to get a further start on him, possibly enough to escape. He didn't waist it, bolting as fast as he could to the door, knowing it was just around the corner.

Unfortunately, the other avengers arrived at that time and ran right into one of them...Hulk. He fell back and landed on his butt before flipping back up onto his feet. He took a defensive stance, purposefully using one that would help cover his circuitry as his gauntlet still wasn't able to project his hologram.

"Shit..." he muttered as he realized they were blocking his way out. He glanced behind him and Cap coming in. "Anytime now Hawk..." He whispered in his coms.

"It's time to stop running kid. You have nowhere left to go," Cap said. Rogue felt a faint pull inside him but easily ignored it. He was still trying to figure out how this was gonna go down if his partner didn't do something soon.

"Might wanna take a step back from them," he heard in his comm and smirked, doing just that, making sure there was still a little distance between him and Captain America.

"I don't like that look on his face," Hawkeye said cautiously, keeping an arrow pointed steadily at him. Right after he finished speaking, three arrows hit the ground behind the avengers, releasing smoke into the air at a rapid rate. Rogue listened to the chaos of the avengers trying to figure out what's going on as he let the smoke cover him, moving before Cap could grab him.

"Hold on! I've got an idea!" Falcon semi shouted to the others. Rogue guessed his plan, but also knew that Hawk wouldn't have told him to move if he was only firing smoke arrows. A second later five arrows hit further inside the door, and the noise of surprise from Sam Wilson let Rogue guess one hit him, before several controlled explosions went off. This scattered the avengers in his way, long enough for him to run out passed them and make it away before the smoke cleared.

0(~Cap~)

Cap coughed along with everyone as the smoke cleared, revealing that Rogue had escaped...again. He couldn't help the feeling of frustration that came over him at this fact. How often was this going to happen? Rogue keeps getting inside the tower and keeps getting away.

"Curses! He got away," Thor

"Is everyone alright?" He asked his team. Almost everyone simply grumbled or nodded in response.

"I'll live," Falcon responded, drawing Steve's attention to him. He was sitting on the floor, holding his shoulder and his wing pack was sparking. "One of whatever those were hit my pack."

"Arrows," Hawkeye said as he walked back into the tower. Steve guessed he'd gone outside after Rogue or to see if he could spot where the surprise attack came from. He held up a broken stick with a metal end to it designed to look like feathers that had survived the blasts. "They were arrows." Clint seemed to glare at the broken arrow piece in his hand. "Whoever helped Rogue was an archer and one with good aim and high up enough friends to be able to afford arrows like the ones they used." The fact that Rogue now has help was unsettling to Cap.

"Clint?" Widow said, drawing the attention of said person and the others. She was holding a fully intact arrow. "This looks like one of yours, but upgraded." Clint narrowed his eyes at it, and took it from her to examine it.

"You're right, it is, I recognize the design," He said, pulling out one of his arrows for comparison. "Without the upgrades it'd be identical to my smoke arrows." Hulk had an angrier look on his face. Steve opened his mouth to ask why, when Tony came over the comms.

"Let's figure this out after we get the time stone secure. Falcon, come up to my lab. I can fix your wings here. Widow or Cap should go get the kid in prison room. My cameras are damaged in there but from what I can make out he doesn't look to good."

Cap offered a hand to Falcon and helped him up when he accepted.

"You think you'll be good to make it up there?" He asked Sam skeptically. Sam nodded.

"My shoulder doesn't feel broken, I think it's just bruised from the impact," Falcon responded. Steve nodded and looked at Widow.

"We better go get that kid," He told her, remembering seeing the glowing dot fighting Rogue and wondering if this kid had anything to do with it.

000(~Pym~)

Pym groaned as he opened his eyes. His head swirled and his stomach and face hurt. He had to shut them for a few moments more, unable to handle the light in the room yet. When he finally opened them again and adjusted to the light he noticed two things, one is he wasn't in the infirmary or his room back home, two, he wasn't alone.

"Good to see you're awake," Tony said, giving him a smile.

"Define awake," Pym groaned and mumbled. He turned over to look at the man tiredly, winced slightly as pains and soreness blossomed in several places. "Where am I?"

"An infirmary here in my tower. You were in a fight and got hurt," Tony answered easily. Pym raised an eyebrow.

"If I was injured then shouldn't I be in a hospital?" He pointed out. Things were pretty desolate back when Ultron had control of the world, but once they defeated him and the world started rebuilding he'd learned of hospitals and what they served their purpose for. Hopefully he was right about it being the right period for this. Tony shrugged.

"Well, under normal circumstances, yes. But seeing how there's no record of you ever existing, you showed up after our fiasco with the time stone and you helped my friend when he was in danger, we decided that it would be best if you got treated for you your injuries here," the billionaire replied.

"Where you can keep an eye on me?" Pym said before he could stop himself. His Tony was a cautious man and could be over protective, this Tony was younger and didn't know him so he could only imagine was was running through his head. Tony smiled somewhat innocently while Pym felt like an idiot for even saying that, even though he was likely right. Tony leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees as he looked at the kid.

"Yeah, that probably has a part in it. You're a smart kid. What's your name?" He asked the kid. Pym debated for a moment on what to tell him, seeing as it could change things. Yet, he didn't know what he'd call himself if he lied.

"Pym. My name is Pym," he said after a moment of hesitation. That caught Tony's attention, he could tell.

"Pym Huh? Any relation to a certain genius?" Tony asked.

"Don't know, it's just my nickname," Pym replied probably too quickly, lying so he didn't ask to many questions. The billionaire raised an eyebrow at him, but didn't push it at this time. Shrugging, he stood up.

"Alright then, Pym, you should get your rest," he said as he headed to the door.

"Yeah, will do," Pym replied a little quietly, getting lost in thought after Tony was gone as he worked to piece everything together in his head. He frowned as the images came together. "James, what happened to you?" he whispered to himself in concern and sadness.

00 (~Tony~)

Tony watched Pym from the hall on the screen Jarvis projected on the wall for him. He saw the kid whisper something, but the audio didn't pick up what. He frowned. He had no idea what to do with this kid. He saved Cap from a bad situation with Rogue, but he was still just a kid, no older than fourteen or fifteen. How was he supposed to handle this? He should probably talk to the rest of the team about what to do, but for now he'd let the boy recover and keep an eye on him.

"What now fearless leader?"Hawk asked through his comm, allowing some sarcasm since he'd just had to rescue Rogue.

"Regroup back at the base, we need to go over the intel," Rogue replied.

"Roger that, heading back now," Hawk said and could practically hear the annoyed eye roll come because of his use of words. Rogue honestly grated on his nerves more than he'd admit, but they had a mission to do and that came before any grievances that slipped through his programming.

Hehehe, I love these last two chapters. Don't forget to leave a review if you're able! They make my day!

I'd love to hear everyones thoughts on Viral and Raven. Also, PYM IS IN THE PAST NOW! I have literally been dying to reach this part since I had the idea. Give me feedback and let me know your theories on what happens next!
