Guest chapter 9 Sep 1: Yes it was. I am not a fan of Adventure 2020 (or Adventure Omega, as I have come to call it) but it had some DAMN GOOD music.
Also, yeah. they are the 2010 redesigns. They are so unique I feel like they deserve their own names. Plus, it makes it easier for a written medium to diferentiate them.
PhantomDark: Seraphimon made no sense to be in the 4th movie, especially with how they did it, and Magandramon came out of nowhere in the 6th movie. And, you know, outside the core plot of the FIRST movie our story has been nothing the Tri films plot wise? ... yeah.
Neo Infinity: By Ken's issue, do you mean his D3? That's al;ways been a thing. But not something the character or the show ever adressed. His Digivice was mutated by the Dark Ocean into the Dark D3. And after Ken turned good? The Dark D-3's power HAS been useful... but he hates it. Scared of it. And I, personally, see Ken as beleiving the Dark D-3 as a symbol of his own internalised pumishment for the horrors he did as the Digimon Emperor. The fact it isn't 'pure' or like the other D-3's a constant reminder of the evil he commited and he would feel like he could never make up for.
SargentEpsilon: It is a Magnamon with blue armour. Yes it is original but also... kinda obvious. We even said it, it is an alternate Magnamon. Because Terrirmon has a golden Rapidmon as his Golden Armour form, but his natural Ultimate level is a green Rapidmon. So we did the reverse, making a blue version of Veemon's Golden Armour form for his Ultimate.

Back To Action, Digital World Chaos
The DigiDestined were flung through the man-made tunnel to the Digital World, almost feeling weightless from the sensation as they were approaching the end.
They emerged in an explosion of light, falling to the ground in a heap.
Screams echoed as nine humans and nine Digimon emerged from the portal, all the Digimon shrinking down, before...
CRASH!
They grunted in pain, fallen through as they crashed on dirt, stone and grass.
"Did... Did we make it?" Yokomon, Biyomon's In-Training form, grunted in pain
"Well, we're not dead." Agumon groaned as they slowly got up.
"Someone help me, please." Meiko whimpered.
"Easy, Meiko. We've gotcha." TK responded as he and some of the others helped her up.
"Careful." Tai smiled, helping Sora to her feet
"Thanks, T-" Sora responded before she was cut short in shock as she looked out to the Digital WOrld.
"Hey, aren't you two forgetting your super hot..." Mimi complained as she got to her feet, only to freeze as she saw what they saw
"What's going on? Why-?" Joe and TK asked as they helped up Meiko... and saw the state of the Digital World.
It was reduced, storm clouds and expanding wasteland, digital code rolling like tumbleweeds. The trees looked dead, just blue sticks bursting from the ground, barren of leaves. The land looking grey, like the life was sucked out of it literally. The sky was dark, the wind almost non-existant.
"What... happened?" TK whispered.
"It's... dead. They're all dead." Tanamon whispered as she saw the plants around them gone.
"Was this what Gennai tried to warn us about?" Kari asked.
Meiko looked on in horror, the Digital World wasn't what she thought... it was horrible. So many Digimon lost their homes. "This... This is the Digital World?" She whispered in horror
"No, not at all." Joe answered. "It's...barren."
"It was full of life and Digimon before." Tanamon explained.
"We're going to fix it. And we're gonna find the source of this." TK responded.
"Are there any safe places around here?" Meiko asked as Izzy held Motimon in his hands.
"We'll have to find them, the landscape has changed so much." Izzy responded as he looked with wide eyes "Facinating."
"I hope you're not saying that with sick fascination, Izzy." Sora commented.
"No, nothing of the sort." Izzy responded. "Just amazed that the Digital World can change in such a way."
"We saw the Digital World all suck up and grow into a literal spiraling tower." Tsunomon stated
"Well, yeah. There was that time." Bukamon responded.
"Careful." Mimi hummed, picking up Tanamon
"We will." Salamon responded. "Wow, it's been a while since we've been this stage."
"Well, it's been three years since we've needed to hit so hard." Agumon commented, he was the only one still in Rookie level
"We're going to have to find a place to hide and get information." Joe added.
"There's not a lot of places to go, Joe." Kari responded.
"Heck, are any of our old allies here?" Tsunomon added, looking around in concern.
"Don't talk like that, Tsunomon." Matt frowned "They've got to be somewhere."
"Izzy, do we have any maps for the Digital World? maybe we can find some landmarks or something." Tai asked.
"Already checking." Izzy commented as he typed away
"For now... It looks like it's time to explore." Sora said with a nostalgic smile "Hey, maybe we can find some telephone booths on the beach?" She chuckled
"Heh...Yeah. Does anyone have a 100 yen?" Tai joked lightly.
''Phone booths on the beach'?' Meiko asked in confusion.
"Oh! Or maybe we will find those fridges near the hot springs, with plenty of eggs!" Mimi giggled
"I-I'm sorry. I'm confused. There are phone booths on beaches and refrigerators near hot springs?" Meiko asked.
"This Digital World is crazy." Matt grinned "And it can be magical. Snapped by dreams."
"'Shaped by dreams'. It sounds nice when you put it like that." Meiko commented. "... But who would dream of ending it all?"
"No idea." Salmon shrugged sadly
rustle~
Agumon got to the front of the group, since he was still mostly at full power and had to protect them. "Who's there? Show yourself!"
The noise came to a stop, the noise coming from a nearby bush
Meicoomon frowned as she flexed her paw as she stood in the back, her claws flashing, as she prepared to pounce...
"DON'T HURT US!" a humanoid green reptile-like Digimon with a large tuba around its neck cried as it stood out of the bush
"Who's that?" Meiko asked as she saw the Digimon.
"Gekomon? Is that you?" Mimi asked in shock.
"P-Princess Mimi?" The Digimon asked back. "I-It is you!"
"Princess Mimi?!" Two blue... Tadpole looking Digimon cheered as they poked their heads from the bushes "It is! It's Princess Mimi!"
"Mimi's a princess?" Meicoomon asked as she looked at the other Digimon.
"It's a long story, Meicoomon." Yokomon sighed as Mimi was tackle hugged by the three Digimon
"Oof! Yeah, it's good to see you three as well." Mimi grunted a little as she was brought to the ground.
"You came back for us!" Gekomon added. "We and the Otamamon were worried you wouldn't come back!"
"Of course, we're all here." Mimi responded as she got up. "Are you all okay? Is there somewhere we can go?" but the thre just kept crying, hugging Mimi close
Meiko wanted to say something, but she honestly would have felt intrusive if she talked.
"What are you doing on File Island?" Tai asked softly
"ShogunGekomon... He... He was... DELETED!" Gekomon cried
The DigiDestined's hearts sank as they heard that; the Otamamon's and Gekomon's leader was gone? How? He was a powerful Digimon. Mimi soon hugged the three sadly as she couldn't believe it.
"The castle... Server... All destroyed..." The first Otamamon cried "All to feed ITS hunger..."
"Server? The whole continent?" Joe asked in shock.
"What's 'hunger'? Who's eating the Digital World?" Izzy asked.
"We... We don't know!" Gekomon cried "We don't know! But it destroyed everything!"
Mimi soon hushed them gently, holding them kindly like a parent... or a princess would do.
"Well... we certainly need to find shelter." Izzy frowned "And I think I've found a nearby cave we can camp in."
"Is it gonna be big enough for us all?" Meicoomon asked as she sat with Meiko.
"It'll cover is enough for us to set up camp." Izzy responded
"Then we'll need to take shifts." Tai responded, thinking about the first night in the Digital World.
...
"Oh god the nostalgia!" TK grinned
"Yep, like the old days." Joe responded, knowing what it meant.
"Lets go. I'll keep you safe." Mimi said softly
"Thank you, Princess Mimi." The Otamamon and Gekomon responded, feeling safe in the company of their royalty.
"Been a a long time since I was called that." She giggled
The two groups walked towards the cave where Izzy had located, each of them carrying or walking with their partners.
Agumon and Salmon where the only rookies, the only ones able to fight right now. The rest still tired from fighting
"Why is Agumon still... Agumon?" Yokomon asked from Sora's arms
"I've probably got so use to WarGreymon over the years, that MetalGreymon isn't a problem anymore." He shrugged
"Huh, experience pays off, I suppose." Tsunomon responded.
"Makes as much sense as us turning back. New Mega Forms and everything." Motimon agreed, pointing to him and Yokomon with Bukamon and Tanamon nodding in agreement
"Alright, here we are." Izzy spoke as they had soon arrived.
"Is it vacant? I don't want us getting attacked by a Mojimon or something if we're trespassing." Matt commented.
"Let me." Agumon smiled as he took a step forwards, puffing up his chest and... "PEPPER BREATH!"
The ball of flame shot through the cave and illuminated the way, it was deep enough but only hit a wall after a long while.
Poof.
"Alright, seems clear. If there was something in there, it would've hit something." Agumon commented.
"That could of been REAL dangerous." Meicoomon commented
"More dangerous than out here?" Agumon responded as everyone walked into the cave, bringing out their sleeping equipment
"Thanks for carrying these, Meiko." Sora spoke, helping Meiko unpack.
"It's fine. Really." She blushed, laughing shy
"Who's is the blue sleeping bag?" Meicoomon called out
"It's mine." Matt responded as the bag was passed.
"Of course colour coded." Mimi smiled proudly as she picked up the green one
"Almost like we've got a theme or something." Kari flinched and giggled as she grabbed the pink one, although hers had some flower patterns on it
"Okay, that means... this purple one with some 0's and 1's speckled on it is...?" Meiko asked.
"Mine." Izzy admitted
"Stylish." Motimon cheered
"Okay, Tai's is... the orange one?" Meiko asked.
"Yep, that's mine." Tai nodded, unrolling it.
"And this-" Meiko pulled out a red bedroll
"Mine." Sora blushed. She took it and unfolded it. Right next to Tai's, so they where practically touching. With Mimi doing the same on his other side
"Huh, that's a good idea." Joe spoke as he unrolled his bed.
"What do you mean?" Matt asked.
"Closer places, more space to move." Joe explained.
...
"Yeah. That's why." Sora blushed
"Well, just be careful. We don't want people clambering over everyone else." Joe added. "We might need a quick escape."
"Thanks, 'dad'." TK joked.
"Did you bring the pillow?" Bukamon whispered as he flopped around on the ground.
"Yeah, I got the pillow." Joe nodded with a smile.
"You sleeping over here, Meiko?" Kari asked
"Um, y-yes." Meiko nodded as she blushed as she saw Kari roll up her own bedroll next to hers.
"Okay then." the brunette nodded with a smile
'Oh gosh. She's so close!' Meiko thought.
"Don't come onto my side." Meicoomon pointed.
"Wouldn't dream of it." Salamon responded with a frown
"Oh come on, don't fight." Kari giggled
"Who's on first watch?" Tai asked
"Should it be you or Meiko? I don't think you guys are too exhausted yet." TK suggested.
"True." Tai hummed "I'll take the first one."
"Thanks, Tai." Meiko responded as she was awkwardly getting comfy. She shuffled into her basic black bag, side by side with Kari.
"Sleep well, guys." Agumon commented.
"We've got this." Tai added.
"Alright, don't overexert yourself." Joe added and yawned as Bukamon was sleeping on his own pillow.
"Yeah, don't worry about that." Tai answered as each of them were all sleeping, with Gekomon and the Otamamon were sleeping close to Mimi as guards and felt safe around her. "One hour shifts, everyone." Tai added calmly
"No funny business, Mister." Sora smiled up at Tai, snuggling into her sleeping bag to rest
"Wouldn't dream of it." He smiled lovingly at her
Agumon looked up at Tai with a smirk, nodding and agreement because that was what he was thinking about too. "It's... kinda weird to be back."
"I know. It feels like it's been forever." Tai admitted. "I just wish it could be under better circumstances." They sat there, silently.
Quietly.
The night faded on, the dark and twisted wind the only noise they could hear.
The dust of the wasteland was out there, looking towards at an endless waste of destruction. Their thoughts and the quiet sounds of the Digidestined and their partners asleep as the wind whistled.
Beep, beep.
Beep, beep.
"That's the first hour." Agumon sighed as Tai turned his alarm off.
"Yeah." he nodded, walking over to Meiko's bag. He gently shook her, waking her from her slumber.
"Hmm? Wh-what?" Meiko whispered as she rubbed her eyes.
"Hey, your turn." Tai smiled down at her, giving a small kiss to her cheek
"Really? O-Okay." She nodded and tried to get up from her bed roll and felt Kari's arms spoon her gently.
"Yeah. She hugs." he laughed softly
"Meicoomon, wake up." Meiko whispered, waking her partner up.
"Mrow... What?" She groaned. "Already?"
"Sorry." Agumon said, rubbing the back of his head
"Well... I'm a night owl anyway." Meicoomon purred and got to her feet as Meiko got out of her bed.
"Good night, Tai." Meiko whispered.
"Good night." And gently kissed her cheek.
Meiko groaned as she got up, rubbed her eyes and looked out of the cave as she and Meicoomon went outside. "This isn't what I imagined the Digital World would look like, Meicoomon." Meiko admitted, holding her Digivice
"Well, it's turned to a wasteland. You should've seen it before. Grass, trees, mountains." Meicoomon commented.
"Like the countryside?" She asked.
"Yeah, kinda like that." The cat-like Digimon nodded.
The cat sat down, not disturbed by the sights around her at all. Seemingly... Content?
"Do... do you miss anything? That was here?" Meiko asked Meicoomon.
"No, not really." Meicoomon answered as she looked out, being quiet as everyone slept. "Nothing at all."
*time skip*
It was the next morning, Kari yawning as she awoke "Your turn, Kari." Izzy spoke.
"Thanks, Izzy." She mumbled as she and Salamon got up. "Last shift of the night." She muttered to herself
"I know." Izzy yawned gently.
"Though we both know what that's like." Motimon chuckled. "Izzy, I'm hungry." He added
"Don't worry, I'll get something." Izzy answered. "I hope the others haven't eaten much."
"No... I don't think so." Kari responded as she and Salamon got up.
"Yaaaa~" Salamon yawned, stretching
"Try and get some sleep. 'Kay?" Kari asked.
"No problems there." Izzy stretched.
"We probably won't get much." Motimon yawned.
"Night, Izzy." Kari stretched as she looked at her bedroll and saw that Meiko was still asleep. Thank goodness no one was awake from their chatter. Salamon stretched, smiling softly as she relaxed next to Kari "How're you feeling, Salamon?" Kari asked as she stroked her head.
"Fine, I don't think that Meicoomon likes me." She responded.
"To be fair. You don't seem to like her either." Kari pointed out
"Something about her just pushes my buttons in a bad way." She responded
"I know, I'm sorry about that." Kari apologised, though it was out of her control because of Salamon's nature.
"I know. It's just hard to look out to the world and see the place like this." Salamon whispered. "At least Wizardmon doesn't have to see this."
"You're right. At least he's at peace." Kari agreed and nodded.
'I want to see him one last time.' Salamon thought to herself as she looked out. 'I wish I could at least...'
"I smell something." Salamon frowned
"What?" Kari asked in worry.
"Something's coming." Salamon answered.
"Oh no." Kari whispered. "Something big?"
"I dunno. Maybe?" Salamon sniffed the air.
thud
A figure fell out of the bushes, a human looking figure. Wearing black robes wifh brown hair
"Ow." The figure groaned, feeling exhausted as he looked at the cave.
"Oh no. That's a problem." Salamon panicked.
"Urgh... Wait. That you?" The figure asked looking up at the pair.
"Gennai!" Kari gasped
"It's you... DigiDestined." Gennai groaned as he looked up at Kari and smiled gently.
"Gennai!" Kari yelled, waking everyone up
Snrrt!
"Huh? What? What's going on?" Tai grumbled.
"My head..." Joe asked.
"Kair? What's happened?" Sora followed up
"It's Gennai! He's here!" Kari called out as she brought him towards the cave. "Guys! Get up!"
"Bananas!" Palmon jerked up, thinking about food as everyone else got out of their bedrolls.
"Hey, we Digivovled." Gomamon said happily
"Guys!" Kari snapped
"Oh shit! Gennai!" Tai ran over and helped Kari bring Gennai inside the cave.
"Thank. You." Gennai whispered as he was helped/dragged to the cave.
"Gennai!" Izzy gasped out
"Urgh. Thank you." Gennai groaned as he was brought inside and rested on the bedrolls turned into a cushion of sorts.
"Gennai. What happened?" Tentomon asked
"Ultimate... Chaosmon..." Gennai panted
"'Ultimate'?" TK asked nervously.
"'Chaosmon'?" Mimi followed up.
"Never heard of it." Matt added.
"Never even heard of a normal Chaosmon." Joe shrugged
"That's because it shouldn't exist. It is a contradiction. A Digimon that is created from extremes." Gennai answered. "And this one... this UltimateChaosmon? It is... insane."
"It did all this?" Joe asked as he attended to Gennai's wounds. "All by itself?"
"Yes." Gennai panted
"It must be a 'Super-Mega' or something." Izzy pondered. "What does it look like?"
"I... I don't know. I only saw a small part of it." Gennai answered. "Its arm. Its arm was immense."
"Gennai... calm down." Sora urged
Gennai seemed to panic, almost flinching at her words but also at the fear he had seen. "I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I couldn't... It's too terrifying." Gennai apologised as he held his arms.
"It's okay." Mimi assured
"Hmmm." TK hummed, frowning to himself
"TK? Are you okay?" Matt asked as he looked at his brother in concern.
"Oh, um. Yeah, I-I think I'm okay." He nodded, deflecting a little.
"Is... is the world dead or something?" Mimi asked
"No, no." Gennai panted "There... is a resistance. I can take you."
"That's good. We can find others who we can help." Tai commented. "Where are they?"
"Follow me." Gennai urged, walking away
"Are you sure you can walk?" Joe asked.
"I'll be fine. Just follow me." Gennai answered. He quickly got up and walked away
"He might've been exhausted." Meiko commented as she had packed up the bedding and put it on her back.
"We better go follow him." Meicoomon added and pointed.
"Anyone else find Gennai weird?" Agumon asked the other Digimon, whispering as they followed
"Yeah, he said 'DigiDestined' and not 'Kari'." Salamon whispered.
"He? He didn't know her name?" Gabumon asked.
Salamon shook her head. "I think something's wrong."
"I think TK feels it to." Patamon added
"Meaning that we might be going into a trap." Palmon agreed.
"Then what's the plan?" Tentomon asked, being on board if things go sour.
"Full power?" Agumon grinned
"Short. Simple. To the point. I like it." Gomamon chuckled.
"Yeah, most of us can go Mega now so it'll be easy! We can take out most Digimon now!" Palmon said proudly
"Yeah, most of us." Patamon frowned, as he fluttered with his wings.
Salamon looked up at Patamon and saw the frown, realising that not Digivolving to Mega was weighing on him.
"Where are we headed, Gennai?" Sora asked as they walked behind him.
"To the resistance, as I said." Gennai said with a slight chuckle. One that was supposed to be happy and cheerful
"We're going quite a way, Gennai." Izzy commented.
Tai and Matt looked at each other, something felt off. Gennai's voice sounded... forced. 'This isn't right. Gennai doesn't sound right.' Tai thought to himself but gave a look to his friends as Gennai didn't seem to notice.
Izzy looked back at Tai, catching the glimpse of his eyes and saw the seriousness in them.
"Gennai. What happened to Whaemon, Piximon, everyone?" Mimi asked
"They." Gennai spoke cheerfully before he caught himself and lowered his tone and pitch. "They were taken." He spoke solemnly, his shoulders slumping down.
The DigiDestined looked at each other, that was strange.
That forced slump and the delay in his tone, it was like he was smiling before forcing a frown.
Sora began to open her mouth... and saw a glimpse "Gennai..." Sora said with narrowing eyes "Why are we near the castle Devimon use to own?"
"Oh, I thought I said that 'we were going somewhere safe'." Gennai commented.
"No, you didn't." Joe answered as Meiko was confused and scared at the sight of the castle.
"You said, you where taking us to the resistance." Matt growled, pulling out his Digivice
"And even then, how is THIS place safe?" Mimi spat, hurt in her eyes
"You AREN'T Gennai. Are you?" Kari glared, Gennai's back still facing the group

Laughter filled the dark air.
It started as a snicker, then a chuckle that held dark mirth. And then... Gennai's shoulders began to quake as the titter grew and grew in intensity. Until finally, Gennai threw his head back. And he laughed,
His head flew right back, a hand on his forehead as his eyes seemed to glow bright red. A sinister, insane, laugh filling the air as he had an almost face splitting grin upon his face. Gennai's cloak had turned pitch black with grey edges, his teeth almost protruding from his mouth from how much he was smiling and the look of madness in his eyes. "You DigiDestined are not as stupid as I thought!" He continued to laugh
"Yeah, we're not kids anymore." Izzy responded, steeling himself.
"What happened to you, Gennai?" TK asked
"Ultimate Chaosmon happened. My Master happened." The man said like a mad priest... As the dead forest began to rattle as a series of plant like beasts emerged from the forest

"HAAA!" Snake-like heads emerged from the dead forest and hissed out. The Digimon was a plant-reptilian Digimon, crawling with vine-like claws with venom dripping from its mouths. An exposed red vertical mouth with poison-tipped teeth protruding out; three-headed Digimon with plant-like heads, all three heads had green to purple plumed leaves coming from their heads, horrible yellow eyes, black mouths with yellow spots inside. But the middle head had a yellow jaw, a red leaf mane on its head and long brown roots for feet.
"Hydramon! Attack them!" Gennai laughed maniacally.
"Crap!" Matt hissed
"Guys! Let's go!" Tai roared, holding up his Digivice
"Right!" The others nodded, their Digivices all glowing
"SALAMON DIGIVOLVE TOO!" Salamon proclaimed as she leapt into the air, Digivolving as her front paws grew out and turned into 'gloves' as her floppy dog ears protruded into pointed cat ears as her small tail grew out and became a cat-like tail with a tuft of fur on the end and a holy ring around it. "GATOMON! SUPER DIGIVOLVE TOO!"
Gatomon's gloves slipped off as her body was covered in wings and grew up into a humanoid; long slender legs and arms, eight pure white wings coming from her back, a long purple-pink flowing sash going over her shoulders down to her feet. Her shoes were heeled, the right one was covered in white feathers, and the left was connected to a latex costume with zips and a holy ring around her ankle. Two black belts around her waist, her DD-Cup chest was covered by a pair of golden wing brasier; long flowing blonde hair, a dark metal helm to cover her face from her nose up with three white feathers on each side and a long white left-hand glove with wings. "ANGEWOMON!"
Patamon fluttered up with his ear wings and glowed as he Digivolved. "PATAMON, DIGIVOLVE TO!" His small mammal body soon shifted and changed, turning humanoid and tall. A human standing six feet tall with white bodysuit covered skin, a black belt around his waist holding a long flowing dark-blue robe that covered his front, gold armoured covered white boots, six white wings on his back, black binding covered fingers with a blue sash around his left arm and right leg and a dark metal face-guard. "ANGEMON! SUPER DIGIVOLVE TOO!"
Angemon's body was covered by light, two more wings erupting and covering his body as he soon stood up. His feet were covered in dark metal boots, a golden sash around his chest and out by his legs, a purple translucent armour over his left arm which was now covered in black body armour; eight silvery white wings on his back with four covering his chest and waist. His right arm had a golden ring around his wrist with a large purple jewel in the center and finally a lofty purple helmet with a silver metal cross riveted onto it. "MAGNAANGEMON!"
Meanwhile the other six Original Digimon all stood side by side, blowing their respective crest colours, as the world around them began to warp.
"Agumon~!" the orange dinosaur cried out as he was enveloped in orange light, flipping a bit as he exploded with power. "WARP Digivolve to!" he roared. He outright roared as he almost seemed to explode with power, growing up into the full form of the mighty Greymon with the mighty burst. His form was completely coated by orange energy, causing his features to be blurred and barley visible. The powerful beast took a step forwards, his tail thrashing around as he took a step forwards
The step was followed by another explosion of power, his form shifting once more. The tattered purple wings, the metal arm, the chest piece and the helmet. After the second explosion of power, he had changed into MetalGreymon
The cyborg dinosaur almost seemed to spark as he roared, taking another step. His body exploding with another blast of power.
STOMP!
Slamming it's foot onto the ground, the orange skinned dinosaur man Digimon stood tall. The world around him exploding into flames as armour formed around him. An armoured chest with red twisting wires binding it together, rounded shoulder pads with singular spikes, a hexagon shield on his back that split in half as the Crest of Courage formed it's shape onto it's surface.
Metal shin armour took shape around his... well, his shins. More red wires keeping them locked in place. His head, completely encased in it's metal armour with three powerful horns traditional for its line. Red hair flowing out of the back of the helmet, not long but noticeable. His green eyes flashing to life. Armour formed around his forearms, the powerful Digimon crossing his arms as he readied his body. The flames growing higher and higher...

The claws suddenly emerged from his gauntlets as he threw his arms out, shattering the flames "WAR~!" he roared, his body arching slightly as a giant sun was clearly forming behind him "GREYMON!" he roared, standing mightily among the burning flames
"GABUMON! WARP DIGIVOLVE TOO!" Gabumon began to glow blue as he howled out to the moon. He opened his hands that held the Garurumon fur-pelt around him and lurched forward, the fur merging with his form as his tail thinned down and his horn retreated into his skull as the hands fused with the claws and became his own limbs. Gabumon's round body soon became slim and wolf-like, his ears perked up as he turned once again into Garurumon.
"AROOO!"
But it didn't last long, as his body jutted upwards into a human-stance, as data streamed around him, but no solid form or colour appeared as the outlines of trousers with spiked kneepads grew out, his front paws turned into hands that clenched deeply into his palms as knuckle-dusters and the outlines of shoulder-guards and belts formed around his person, almost lashing onto him to secure the clothing into place.
"ARWOOOO!"
CRASH!
Gabumon, or whatever that form was, crashed front paws first as the sounds of metal and ice formed around him. Once again a quadruped, metal and ice formed around Gabumon, his claws once again grew and shone a metallic red, crawling up his front paws was a blue metal with black wires attaching the joints, on his shoulders were some spikes on blue metal, a yellow neck to his stomach, bearing the blue and purple marked belly of Gabumon, while on his shoulders were yellow rocket launchers with silver spikes protruding from them, his back was covered in the same blue metal and riveted together, his hinds legs had red lights on the top joints while his back-legs had blue metal armour and a black wheel-joint.
SHINK!
Folding out from his back was a pair of yellow protruding wings that looked similar to jetstream wings and a bladed sabre-like tail. And finally, his head, covered with blue metal and fanned blue vents with metal ears and showing his piercing red eyes and white-furred mouth and a glowing red light nose.
"METALGARURUMON!" The new form of Gabumon howled proudly as ice seemed to form beneath his feet as the moon itself acknowledged this form.
"Palmon!" She called, preforming a quick backflip "Warp Digivolve To~!" As she landed from her backflip, she was enveloped by a massive pillar of green light. Togemon emerged from the light, preforming a few quick jabs before the body 'shattered' revealing Lillymon. The Ultimate form preformed a quick flip, spinning into the air. As she flew higher, a light came rushing down over her.
A naked woman emerged from the light and landed, black high-heeled latex-like boots forming up her legs to her thighs. A red latex-like bodysuit following case that stopped at her breasts, red latex-like gloves nearing her shoulders. Following that her green leaf cape formed, a vine wrapping around her. A pink flower boomed between her breasts, a red rose clown forming over her head. The light of her skin died down as her peach skin became visible, her bright red lips curling into a smirk "Rosemon!" She proclaimed proudly, whipping at the ground for a few seconds. A massive forest growing around her in seconds.
"Gomamon..." the little white seal called, preforming a back flip as the power of the Crest of Sincerity flowed through him and silver energy burst through him "Warp!" as he flipped, the world shifted into the ocean, Gomamon doing a spin in the air as he dove down into the waters. Waters that where quickly becoming torturous and wild "Digivolve to~!*

He landed face first into the water as it raged. Silver light bubbling from underneath as the waves exploded out, Ikkakumon pushing himself above the waves as he roared. The fur, and the rest of the body of the Champion, completely encased in silver light as ice began to come rushing down. Snow, snow pattering down onto the raging waters as Ikkakumon dashed forwards.
It was almost magical, his form completely changing between the blink of an eye. From Ikkaumon to Zudomon between a small flurry of snow, almost between two individual flakes of snow, a mere blink of existence. Zudomon crawled out of the water, silver still encasing his form as the snow turned into a full blizzard. He roared as he flashed with power, but was quickly frozen over.

The ice shattered away, revealing the white furred form of Gomamon's mega as he emerged from his prison. Using his pure strength to break through the hold. Straps and a furred pelt quickly took shape onto his body, his shields forming onto his shoulder and his viking helmet also taking their required place.

And his morning stars flew from his back, shattering a giant glacier that had been falling towards him, before taking their place on his back
"GRAAAAAAAAAAA!" The Mega howled out, flexing his muscles as the ice came crashing down behind him "VIKEMON!" he roared into the arctic wasteland
"Tentomon!" the red bug cried out as he took flight, purple energy sparking around him like lightning as he flew towards the skied. Skies that where beginning to grow dark and crackle
"Warp Digivolve!" Tentomon cried as he entered the storm clouds, the purple lightning spreading into the clouds but also growing over his own form until he appeared to be within a cocoon of pure energy "To!"
BOOM!
With a thunderclap, a glowing purple Kabuterimon burst through some clouds, roaring and slashing at the clouds. Almost seeming to try and pull them in towards him. The energy began to grow and grow more, lightning coming down to strike his body

MegaKabuterimon threw himself out of the clouds, roaring as his body was still crackling with purple energy. Unable to withstand his own strength. Landing in a wasteland, MegaKabuterimon was crouched down a bit. His form shaking, as several large purple lightning bolts came rushing down at him. Aimed right at him
KRAKABOOM!
The Digimon roared, the Mega Level of Tentomon throwing himself out of storm as the golden shell took shape. Hardening. His four arms spread wide as he roared, his jaw opening with another mighty roar. His three horns sparked with power as he posed, snarling out "HerculesKabuterimon!" he cried out, lightning sparking across the ground wasteland
"Biyomon Warp Digivolve to!" Biyomon called out proudly as she jumped into the air, taking flight. Her wings pushing powerfully, throwing herself into the sky. Her form glowed bright red as she flapped her wings, throwing herself up towards the clear skies. Flames surrounded her, throwing her higher and higher. The fire bursting away to reveal Birdramon, the bird dragon roaring/screeching as she flew high. Rushing higher and higher, clouds passing in the blink of an eye. Birdramon was surrounded by a small tornado of fire, Garudamon flapping her wings as she burst from the clouds. Growing larger and larger, the stars becoming visible as she neared another layer of clouds...

More flames surrounded her as she flew past the clouds, hear the boarder of space. The flaming form of Biyomon's Mega form flapped her four wings proudly, the golden feathers glittering as the sun rose above the planet slightly. Her tail feathers flowing freely behind her, her golden helmet placed proudly atop her head as she gave out a mighty cry of her name "Hououmon~!" she cried out, the sun glowing behind her as she flew at the boarders of space
The world flashed as the six returned to 'normal' space, no time having past
"Let's do this." WarGreymon snarled, smirking under his mask. This... it felt right. Fighting alongside the others all as Mega's, it almost felt like it was always supposed to be this way.
"Get them!" Gennai proclaimed to the Hydramon, ordering them like tamed or just commanded wild animals.
"How many are there?!" Meiko gasped, huddling behind the group as the battle began
"I think ten." Matt said casually
"Still. There are so many Mega level Digimon." Izzy frowned, rubbing his chin "This isn't normal. Fascinating."
"Izzy, experiment and research later. Beat up bad guys now!" Matt called out.
"GRAH!" Vikemon roared, launching his weapons at the living forest before him
"Rosemon, think you can talk some sense into them?" Hououmon joked as she flew high, making sweeping strikes into the living forest
"I'm getting the feeling they won't listen to me." Rosemon responded back, using her whip to strike at them.
"Gotcha!" WarGreymon snarled, grabbing one Hydramon before it could grab Rosemon from behind. Flames licked at his claws, burning the plant Mega causing it to screech in pain. The Hydramon hissed out in pain, screaming as WarGreymon's flames caught their body on fire.
"Thank you, Darling." Rosemon purred at WarGreymon smiling, spinning around and throwing her arm forwards "Rose Rapier!" she cried, the vine glowing pink slightly as it rushed through the air and stabbed at the Hydramon
Gennai was looking on at this scene, six Megas and two Ultimates versus ten Megas. The odds were in his favour. And yet, somehow...

Somehow they where WINNING!
'This is impossible. How is it they are able to keep up? Is it because they are Data and Vaccine types?' Gennai thought to himself as he tried to wrack his brains to find some weakness of them.
"VIKING FLAIL!" Vikemon proclaimed, smashing his morning star weapon into a Hydramon's back. A loud 'SMASH!' and the potential for a 'SPLAT' came from Hydramon as its dried roots and vine body were crushed by the icy weapon.
"Celestial Arrow!" Angewomon called, shooting her heavenly strike down... and not doing too much damage "Tch." she hissed quietly
"CRIMSON FLAME!" Hououmon cried as she flew above Angewomon, unleashing her attack onto the Hydramon that Angewomon had struck. As the bright red flames rushed down from Hououmon's beak, the Hydramon screeched as it was burnt and assaulted
"Nice one, Hououmon!" Sora called out.
"Stand back! GIGA BLASTER!" HerculesKabuterimon proclaimed, grabbing a Hydramon and blasted it into the air away from everyone.
"HA! HIYA! ORIYA!" MagnaAngemon roared as he slashed at the plant Digimon, his wrist energy blade Excalibur fully extended and cutting into the vine like body... not doing TOO much damage
"Our of the way, MagnaAngemon!" MetalGarurumon snarled as he hovered into the air, his armour opening up to reveal his full payload of missiles
MagnaAngemon's eyes widened under his helmet and dodged out of the way for MetalGarurumon's missiles to fly through and attack the Hydramon.
"GRACE CROSS FREEZER!" he roared, his missiles soaring through the air.
KABOOM!
BANG!
FWOOSH!

The Hydramon screeched as it was heavily damaged, its form being ripped apart from the arctic attack. The ten Hydramon where all forced back into a circle, the Mega's all mostly surrounding them.
Mostly because...
"HA!" WarGreymon roared as he flew high into the air. He brought his arms in front of his chest, the claws of the Dramon Destroyer's slightly intersecting as arms shook. Slight sparks filled the air between his hands, power quickly taking shape as a sphere of orange energy. Bringing his arms into the air, the Mega began to spread his arms wide. As he did, the ball of energy grew larger and larger and larger. Double his size, triple his size. And more! "TERRA!" he roared, arching his body back before... "FOOOOOOORRCCCCCEEEE!" WarGreymon roared as he threw his arms down, launching the attack down.
The whistle of the attack rushing through the air was all that could be heard, the fireball splitting the air apart before...
KABOOM!
The attack hit the Hydramon, making them all howl in pain before being completely deleted
Gennai looked on in shock. How far had they come since their time as children? It should have been impossible for most of them to be Mega level, Ultimate is the maximum level for them. How...

HOW?!
Gennai began to laugh again, although this time there was clear rage slipping in as well.
"Gennai..." Kari whispered, hating to see their old friend like this
"HEY! SHUT UP!" Meicoomon called as she rushed forwards towards Gennai, her claws glittering in the limited light
"Meicoomon, wait!" Meiko called out in worry, seeing her friend rushing at the Digital Person.
Gennai span around and slapped Meicoomon, sending her crashing to the floor "DINOREXMON! DONEDEVIMON! RIP THEM APART!" he roared in rage
Meicoomon's eyes widened as she heard those names.
Dinorexmon was a large green-scaled dinosaur-like Digimon, with dusty yellow muscles and chest for its underbelly, white pointed teeth in its jaw, two clawed hands with large back clawed feet with two long silver bone middle-claws.
DoneDevimon was a gaunt and spidery Devimon, hunched over and on all fours, its bat-like cloak curved around to look like a crescent moon, a luchador-like mask on its face with red markings over its blind white eyes, a long purple tongue that slathered over its long sharp teeth filled mouth. Spewing from its back was negative black data with two large grey-white hands formed outwards.
"More of them?" HercluesKabuterimon hissed
"We can take 'em!" Vikemon said gruffly, charging at DoneDevimon "HAVE AT YE!" he roared, his fists grabbing onto his foes and wrestling with him
"Vikemon, watch out!" Joe called out.
"MagnaAngemon, help him out!" TK called out.
"Right!" MagnaAngemon nodded and rushed forwards with a mighty rush
"OGRE FLAME!" Dinorexmon roared out as he shot out his shell-like scales from his body as they looked like magma.
Hououmon crossed her wings, quickly acting as a shield to block the attack "Our turn!" Hououmon proclaimed as she opened her wings again, flinging the magma away from the fight. "STARLIGHT EXPLOSION!"
"Garuru TOMOHAWK!" MetalGarurumon called, shooting his large stomach missile. The missile and the burning starlight connected and blew up Dinorexmon, flinging him into the air and away from the DigiDestined. This was looking bad for Gennai.
"Forbidden~!" Rosemon gasped out as she felt her power flow through her, taking aim "TEMPTATION!" she cried out, launching that attack at DoneDevimon as Vikemon threw him into the air
"Giga Blaster!" HerculesKabuterimon roared as he followed up with his own attack. DoneDevimon screamed as the attacks struck it and disrupted its already unstable appearance, being deleted by the two impressive attacks. Vikemon crackled his knuckles as he and WarGreymon turned to Gennai
"Any more?" Tai asked with a smirk

And Gennai laughed again
"Is he a broken record?" Matt asked. "Stuck on a loop."
"I don't even think he is TRULY broken." Mimi said sadly.

And a second evil laughter filled the air
Fear struck into the hearts of the DigiDestined at the sound of laughter by not only Gennai but also the second laughter. Slowly appearing before them through shadow and madness, appeared another humanoid Digimon. It had skinny black boots bound in gold rings and black straps, dark and light blue striped harem trousers, golden skeleton-styled chest armour with horned golden skulls on his shoulders, a black pinstripe suit, a black cloak with a red interior that looked like batwings that were hooked on golden anchors connected to spindly skeletal arms, a long spine-like tail with a melted golden pick-axe, two hold skull guard swords, a large black with gold rim pirate hat and a mummy-like face with a golden mask over his nose and eyes.
"Th-that laughter." MagnaAngemon whispered.
"Not them, it can't be." Angewomon added.
"Izzy, Digimon Analyser! Who the hell is that guy?!" Matt called, gripping his Digivice
Izzy's fingers typed away as quickly as he could, trying to get any data on this Digimon.
"I don't need any introductions. I am Boltboutamon!" The Digimon proclaimed, his voice sounding... very similar to a horrible Digimon that struck fear in Angewomon's heart.
"I don't care who you are, I'm gonna rip you apart!" WarGreymon called as he felt something inside him... twinge as he rushed through the air, claws shimmering in the light
"Aww, eager to become a keychain again!" Boltboutamon laughed mockingly, flying at WarGreymon
''Keychain'?' WarGreymon thought in shock. There was only a small handful of people who knew that.
SLASH!
"GAH!" WarGreymon yelled as a slash across his stomach shone, Boltboutamon having drawn his sword
Suddenly the sword copied, multiplying themselves. A glowing circle of blades, which then went flying forwards and stabbing through the Mega
"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" WarGreymon howled in agony as he was skewered, falling towards the ground
"Pernicious Waltz." Boltboutamon hissed darkly as he finished passing WarGreymon, naming his attack AFTER the blow
"WarGreymon!" Tai yelled, chasing after his partner who had now reverted to Koromon
"I gotcha." Rosemon said, catching the small pink blob before he hit the ground
"Thanks... ow..." he mumbled in pain
"Koromon, are you okay?!" Tai asked
"What... the hell?" Matt blinked
"TAKE HIM!" Vikemon as he rushed at Boltboutamon... only to 'pop' as he reverted to Bukamon "Ow! Oh... so tired..."
"Two attacks? Seriously?" Izzy asked. "Hercu-!"

"Too. Strong." Motimon flew down as Boltboutamon flew past HerculesKabuterimon.
"Sora~!" Hououmon cried out, her flapping a bit irregular "I feel weird..." she said, in a tone that her partner recognised
"They are too new, they're running on empty!" Sora called out "He isn't attacking them, they're passing out!"
"Crap!" Matt hissed "That means MetalGarurumon and WarGreymon where his only real threat."
"TAKE THIS, MONSTER!" MagnaAngemon roared as he raced at Boltboutamon , sword ready... only to be swatted aside "GAH!" he hissed, crashing through a few trees
"Heaven's Charm!" Angewomon called as she threw her arms forwards. A cross of light forming through Boltboutamon, trapping him in mid air
"GAH!" Boltboutamon hissed, shaking "Hehe... as expected from you, my dear." he hissed at her, smirking... before flexing a bit, shattering the seal
Angewomon's eyes widened as her attack was nullified. How? How could this happen? No. She knew On some deep and foreboding level, she knew. But how?! That should be impossible!
"Angewomon?" Kari asked as she and TK looked up in worry and fear at the new Mega that had joined Gennai's side.
"Who... Is this guy?" TK asked
"FORBIDDEN TEMP-" Rosemon yelled... Before reverting to her own In-Training form "Damn it..." Tanemon complained
"HAHAHAHA! This is brilliant!" Boltboutamon laughed "You're falling like flies!"
"I've got you." Mimi frowned as she grabbed Tanemon.
"Gate! Of! Destiny!" MagnaAngemon called out, drawing his arm in a circle
"How quaint." Boltboutamon smiled darkly and almost... 'welcomed' it as the gate opened up and tried to suck him in.
"Ah~, I remember the last time you tried this trick! How nostalgic~! It's been... What? Six years?"
"Six... Wait. No. No, no. It-it can't-!" TK panicked as he saw this. "Piedmon?"
"PIEDMON?!" The others yelled in worry
"And Myotismon." Boltboutamon continued, tipping his hat to them. "It is lovely to see you all again."
The DigiDestined's blood ran cold
How? How was this possible?
Piedmon was killed and reverted to a DigiEgg! And Myotisemon, reborn as MaloMyotisemon, was killed three years ago! Finally, for good!
But somehow they are back, combined?!

MetalGarurumon snarled as he stood before the others, the only one left standing. Well, outside of Angewomon and MagnaAngemon
"This... How?" MagnaAngemon hissed
"UltimateChaosmon has powers unlike you could ever understand!" Boltboutamon laughed as he held his hand high, his gun glistening in the darkness "Now... Be gone." He smirked
The DigiDestined held their partners close, everyone huddled together as they prepared for what was to come...
"INFINITY ARROW!" a gruff voice roared
"Underworld's Call!" A dark voice growled out at the same time
Suddenly a barrage of glowing gold spikes and two black skills surrounded by purple auras came rushing through the sky, thrashing at Boltboutamon in a quick burst
"GAH?" The dark pirate Digimon hissed as he jumped back, he and Gennai covering their eyes
"What's going on?!" Angewomon hissed... Before a giant yellow figure rushed by as smoke covered everything
"Get them, Boltboutamon! Hurry!" Gennai snapped
"No good." The dark Mega hissed as the smoke cleared... And the DigiDestined where gone "Damn it."
