I always hated this, reading through the grades of the first years to see if there was a slacker that needed to be cut from the school. I needed all the huntsmen there could be, but the annoying council wanted rules. Again all I found was Jaune, he was still failing combat class, granted he is weak now, but soon he will become a strong warrior like his mother, I want him to be at my side and if I can't find anybody better I'll take his body.
Thinking about how to help Jaune improve I suddenly get a call, looking at the ID it was General Ironwood. Picking up the call with a deadpan expression, calls with him are always so formal and annoying.
"James, what's the occasion?" I said with a fake smile. I knew why he called, but I was going to humor him at least.
"I want to know why the White Fang attacked Kakariko Village?" Ironwood said with a serious expression getting to the point.
"Either they wanted to take the Great War equipment or just kill the citizens there, but none of that happened because they were stopped so we don't know what they really wanted," I said with happiness that they were stopped, I needed that equipment there for a little longer.
"Do you think a Second Faunus Revolution War will start?" Ironwood said fearfully of the thought that another might happen.
"No, a Revolution needs rational people who show the light of their goal to their followers and lead them into battle for these goals, not extremists that want to eradicate Humans just because their ancestors were discriminated against, these White Fang are nothing more than terrorists now that need to be destroyed," I said without remorse.
"Yes they are becoming quite the problem also in the attack on Kakariko there was a.." He almost said when the elevator dinged announcing that someone came to my office, I put Ironwood on hold because I didn't really want to talk to him and to get this problem that's coming into my office over with as soon as possible. It better not be Team CRDL I'm really getting tired of their behavior.
If it is them I'll give them one last warning and if they don't heed it I will expel them. The doors opened and out unexpectedly came Professor Port, great hopefully he brought the info I told him to gather.
" did the mission go well?" I said hoping that it did.
"I'm afraid not Ozpin, my brother and the citizens were not cooperating with me. All I got was that he fought Adam Taurus and lost and he left before I could get there and I got no intel about how he looks, I'm sorry Ozpin I failed your mission." He said ashamed that he couldn't even gather information on this boy.
"That's a shame, well thank you for your time," I said with disdain for the Mayor for protecting this boy that I think is Andres.
"Have a good day Ozpin," Port said as he walked back to the elevator.
"What problems me, is why are the people of Kakariko protecting this boy's identity. if it's Andres then he's really trying to hide from me." I said out loud without thinking who overheard me, the bad news bears part is that Ironwood heard.
Then a voice snapped me out of thought. "Yes, why is this boy hiding from you?" Ironwood said with suspicion in his voice.
"He thinks I'm going to use him to fight the Witch," I said, assuming why he left.
"He's that useful," Ironwood said with disbelief that this boy can be of help in their Secret War.
"Yes I believe with him on our side he could give us a chance at defeating her," I said knowing that if he grows stronger he'll have a chance to defeat her, that's why I want him after all.
"Then why aren't we using every resource to find him?" Ironwood said with logic. Why have a person who can become strong enough to fight Remnant's biggest threat out in the wild while he's at his weakest, I seem idiotic by not sending every resource I have to search for him, but I'm not I just have faith in the best outcome will happen.
"Because I believe him leaving Beacon is a good thing, he would have never grown so much that he could have fought and won against a Beringel and minutes later fought against Adam Taurus and survived, he would have never grown that much here at Beacon. If he keeps growing stronger at the pace he's going he's going to be a force to be reckoned with by the Vytal Festival." I say giving the reason why I'm not trying so hard to get Andres back if this is him.
"Yes I understand, but why not have him be supervised unseen?" Ironwood said with another logical statement.
"I do plan to have Qrow watch him soon, but he's on a mission right now," I said having Qrow watch this boy in a couple more weeks.
"Ok I trust your decisions even if that drunken Qrow is a part of it, now back on the important issues should we move the equipment to a more secure location," Ironwood said, hoping to move them to Atlas to create almost identical replicas. Why have technology that could help the world be safer, but just keep it stored away? It makes almost no sense.
"No Kakariko Village will be protected by huntsmen for the next months, the equipment will be well guarded," Ozpin said. The equipment will be safe so there's no reason to move it.
"Good, how's our wounded Maiden?" Ironwood said this was the main reason for his call.
"She's still in critical condition even with the advanced healing Dust nothings working either we kill the False Maiden or we give her power to someone else," Ozpin said with a voice of hurt. This woman, she didn't deserve this and this False Maiden will pay for her crimes.
"This is bad, we have no leads on the False Maiden, have you found a suitable replacement for her powers?" Ironwood said giving Ozpin all the information he had, which was nothing.
"Yes I have, but I need more time to make sure she's on our side," Ozpin said wanting to get Pyrrha full trust before telling her of their Secret War and what role she would have in it.
"Yes well, that's all I called for, see you during the Vytal Festival Ozpin," Ironwood said before disconnecting the line.
Finally, I never liked Ironwood, but he is a great Ally to have, his help is worth dealing with him even if he is a tool. I got back to read the grades to finish early because I want to sleep early today.
Day 12 of 720 before Earth's Death
Training Montage
Day 1 of training
"Ow, Ow, Ow, Ow, Owww," I said as my back was being stabbed with a fork and the latest hit pierced the bruised purplish skin.
"Stop being a baby. I've only done it 300 times." Clover said Like it was nothing.
"Tell me again why are you doing this?" I said feeling like she was taking advantage of training me.
"Are you deaf, uhh fine we're doing this exercise for you to get your Aura up defensively, what point is having Aura if you can't use it defensively and after you get that down, I'll train you to always have your Aura up subconsciously?" She said already making plans.
"You call this exercise," I say a little irritated with all the stabbing.
"No, it's like the pre-workout drink you take before you start getting warmed up. Once you finish healing I'm going to put you through the wringer." She said cracking her whole body just by flexing. Also, I really don't feel like getting better now.
"Great you're going to train me, will I have to listen to your snarky comments all the time," I said, being snarky to her.
"Of course, it's your payment is to listen to every single one of them." She said with a happy tone, but what I really heard was a sadistic woman.
"Fine, but why do I have to train the day after leaving the Village, I'm still injured!" I said, complaining about getting started so soon. Wait why am I complaining. Shut up laziness, I really need this training.
"I know you crybaby, that's why we're starting on Aura first, once you have control over it you'll be way better at fighting, and were doing nothing physical so your stitches won't open up." She said making the most of our time together.
"Ok let's keep training, but can you stab another spot?" I said hoping for a yes, the one spot she's been stabbing I can't feel it anymore.
"Sure, but now I'm going twice as hard so get that Aura up." She said happy to stab a little harder now.
3 hours later
After 1998 fork stabs. "Oww, Ow…wait I didn't feel that one," I said surprised that I felt no very irritating pain.
"Wow, you got that down really fast, you got your Aura up now, it normally takes a couple of days to make this kind of progress." She said in disbelief of my progress.
"Really, oh yeah I need to ask you a question," I said a little confused with what I was going to ask.
"Yeah sure, what is it," Clover said interested in what I had to say.
"Why did I have my Aura up while I was fighting Adam?" I said while not being able to connect the dots, I had it up defensively without training.
"When you're in a life or death situation your body and soul would do almost anything to keep you alive, so your body goes into flight or fight mode and your Aura stays up until there is no more danger or it gets shattered." She said with confidence. That sounds so convenient like the author forgot you had to train Aura, stupid RWBY Retcons.
"Cool, now time to train me to have Aura on subconsciously," I said happily. I got so excited I put my back to her for more stabbing. Who doesn't want a force field that protects you?
"Wait, it's not going to be like turning your Aura on remotely like I was showing you now, I'll have to attack you whenever you're distracted so you keep your Aura on subconsciously." She said wanting to make this clear.
"So what training do I do now?" I said I wanted to keep training.
"Well start messing with your Aura, ok try this breath deeply and think of your Aura as your breath and move it from your lungs to your mouth and back down." She said, explaining the exercise.
"Ok," I said happily without questioning her.
"I want you to say, yes Master." She said with a joking tone.
"Fuck off." Then she gave me an eye. "Fine, I will, yes asshole," I said with a smug smile pointed at her.
"Less talking, more training." She said, throwing the fork at the side of my head. Bitch
Day 3 of Training
Thinking about how many more days of Training I will be on the road for 19 days and 2 have passed. I was too distracted to see Clover coming at me flying through the air. I get drop kicked off the carriage for the second time that day. "Oww, Why did you do that?" I said, getting up out of the dirt and chasing the moving carriage. Clover already told the driver to not stop even if he hears me yell for him too.
"To train you to have your Aura up without having to think about it, fighting gets easier when you don't have to think about the fight and having your Aura up at the same time so you eliminate one and you start to think more clearly and you get better in the fight." She said sagely. In a matter of five seconds, I got back on the carriage because of its slow pace.
"I get that, but why do you keep kicking me off the carriage," I said a little mad she did it twice already.
"I think it's pretty funny seeing a fat kid running after his ride." She said laughing her way through the sentence.
"Hey I'm not fat, I'm fluffy, there's a big difference," I said trying to defend myself. I have lost weight. I used to be 204 LB before I came to this world, but now I don't know, but I do look slimmer than before, and hopefully, I'll get the lean muscular body I always wanted someday.
"For you maybe, now back to the breathing exercise." She said ordering me again.
"Why not show me a different one? I've been doing that one for three days straight." I said annoyed, I've gotten much better at summoning my defense Aura remotely, but I still don't have it subconsciously. I see how useful it is, but I can't just train it like the remote way I need to let my body be accustomed to it always being on.
"No, you do the basics. AKA learning how your Aura feels and you can move it how you see fit, then we move to the more advanced stuff. You'll only slow your incredibly fast progress if we do it your way, now back to breathing." She said ordering me again. Ok, I get what she's saying, so she's going Mr. Miyagi me. The training is going to become repetitive, but the end results will be worth it. Like with that Russo kid. "Wax on, wax off."
A couple of hours later right before bed, Paarthurnax speaks up.
"Seems you're doing well Andres you've grown stronger since the last time I saw you." He said impressed with my progress.
"Thanks, Paarthurnax for both the compliment and for helping me get the strength to keep fighting, thank you for everything to the deal you gave me to save my life," I said with gratitude, I might be thankful, but it doesn't mean I won't kill him if I can. Know when to pick your battles.
"Andres I saved you because so far I like you and you haven't been Corrupted by power yet." He said mysteriously.
"I don't know what that means?" I said confused by what he meant by "Corrupted".
"And I won't tell you what that means until the right time," He said nervously, almost like he was caught in a lie.
"Great more old man wisdom, why can't you tell me?" I said annoyed by him keeping information from me.
"Because you're not ready." He said it was a fact.
"When will I be ready?" I said wanting to know.
"I do not know, but not now, onto more pressing matters, how's training," Paarthurnax said switching the topic.
"You know just being stabbed with forks when I zone out and breathing, why is Aura so important my Auras capacity never changes so why train it," I said annoyed if I was just wasting my time doing this.
"You're looking at things too narrow minded, now look with your mind open. From what I know of Aura it's like this. Your Aura capacity is the magazine of a gun it Carries a limited amount of bullets and how strong your Aura is your bullet size which yours would be a 9mm bullet compared with people who trained for years yours is nothing and your body is the gun the stronger your body gets the more effective the bullets get." He said putting Aura in a simple way so I can understand.
"I kinda understand, can ya give me a DBZ run down of it," I said jokingly not really thinking I'll get what I asked for.
"Fine, your body is your base form for you, you're at 1.2x stronger than the average person, but not that much, and that man Adam would be at 4x because he actually trained his body. Your Aura is your super Saiyan multiplayer. By default you get a 3x multiplier and the more you train it the more the multiplier will increase and so will you become more powerful so stop bitching and keep breathing. The Aura capacity I got nothing for that." Paarthanaux said like he watched DBZ.
"Damn, wait how do you know DBZ, I said that as a joke," I said suspicious how he would know about that.
"...Uhhh well before we attacked your planet we scouted it out and when I got bored of scouting and planning the attack. I saw one of your TV's on and it was on the first episode of DBZ and no one turned it off so I watched through it all. I admit not my proudest moments yelling at Goku to keep fighting, but I got some knowledge from it." He said with a shameful tone.
"Really, what," I said, really wanting to hear, he watched some anime.
"That your species is incredibly artistic. Some of the ideas you make can be used in real life you know and your anime is interesting." He said. Oh my god, I was right.
"Holy shit the Mighty Dragon King Paarthurnax is a weeaboo, I think I'm tripping balls right now." Not really believing what I just heard.
"Sush Human you must not tell anyone of this. I need to keep my image of a Mighty King." He said nervous I'll tell his soldiers of this.
"You're just embarrassed by watching anime, really you shouldn't sometimes people just want to watch something otherworldly not bland reality," I said defending weeaboos, I was one of them after all and he's right anime will give me a lot of ideas on how to use my Semblance, when I get my own.
"Yeah guess you right, but still be quiet about it." He said hoping I'll stay quiet about this.
"Sure, but you have to give me an estimate for how much stronger Adam is compared to me. I feel like he can't be that much stronger than me, I did do some damage to him." I said confidently that our power gap wasn't that large and with this Paarthurnax crushes my naive estimates. "You're an idiot, he was toying with you, he's at least 40 times stronger than you and at most 110 times stronger when you combine his skills, experience, large Aura, and trained body and Aura so you got some training to do to level the playing field." He said putting a whole lot of pressure on me. He's at least 40 times stronger than me fuck.
"Holy shit and this Witch is much stronger than him," I say remembering what Paarthurnax said to me back then.
"Yes, but right now she immobile. She's too busy to move, all you have to do is hit her to distract her." He said. It sounded like this quest was going to be easy, but a burning feeling in my stomach makes me think it really won't.
"Wait just hit her, what about killing her," I said because I thought he told me to do that.
"I've never said kill her. You thought that the only thing you need to do is hit her once then our deal is complete." He said with confidence.
"So just hit the woman that is way easier than I thought," I said happily it might be easy and I won't have to fight someone like Adam again. Heh, all I gotta do is hit a woman to save my world.
"It won't be, she has underlings everywhere and you're in all of their sights and only a few of them are as strong or stronger than Adam so be careful. I need to go my second in command needs me." Paarthanaux said, giving me valuable information.
"Thank you Paarthurnax for the information," I said speaking my mind out loud.
"Goodbye and good luck I'll be watching." He said as he stopped talking.
Then I hear someone speak up. "Seriously I really think you're crazy now," Clover said walking over to me.
"Clover where you listen to the whole time," I said nervous she'll throw me into a mental hospital or just won't help me.
"You mean you talking to yourself then yes, why do you do that." She said with narrow eyes focus straight on me.
Ever since I came here on Remnant I've been pushing down the need to tell someone what happened to my world, and why I'm here, it's not for pity, no it's to make me feel better. Now I have a chance to tell someone that probably won't tell me I'm a lunatic. "I need to tell you something, the whole story of why I'm doing this," I said, giving her the whole story from the Dragons having a siege on my planet to why I'm talking to the Dragon who literally was in charge of the attack days ago.
In a blink of an eye she hugs me "Your something else Andres, your an even bigger Hero than I thought. I wish I could help you, but I need to follow what Azule says." She said regretting making a deal with Azule.
Suddenly my heart hurt, my breathing became erratic. Clover saw this and held me to calm me down. For the next 5 minutes, Clover helped me calm down from my panic attack. If I was by myself it would have been way worse. I wiped away the tears.
"You believe me?" I said flabbergasted that someone and the first person I told this to actually believes me and doesn't think I'm just telling them a lie.
"Of course I never saw you as the lying type and you seemed to have the weight of the world on your shoulders, guess that was true and I really do wish I could help you on your quest, but my deal with Azule stops me." She said with her head down.
"...It's ok, actually can you convince Azule to fix all of the war equipment," I said getting a plan if I can't beat my opponents with just my own might then I'll use the might of technology.
"Why?" She said, confused with my request.
"If I'm going to hit this Witch then I'm going to need every advantage I can get," I said wanting to be ready for a war.
"I'll try, but don't expect anything I don't really have leverage with him right now." She said believing my request isn't going to work.
"Thanks for this," I said for her being there listening to me rant about my story.
"No problem, now go to sleep. We'll get up early to train harder. You need all the power you can get to complete this deal." She said with determination to train me into a warrior before our time is over. My heart felt warm the first time in a long time.
Day 7 of Training
"Dropkick," Clover said as she flew to me feet first. Hearing this obvious attack I sidestep it.
"You know, I do this for you to get better at getting hit, not for you to dodge it," Clover said a little sad that I didn't get hit.
"Sorry," I said as I started the breathing exercise again. It might seem I've been doing nothing these last few days, but this exercise really helps. Yesterday without Clover permission I got off the carriage and punched a tree while my fist was enhanced with extra Aura and it work as I thought, I blow through the tree and Clover heard this and found me and punished me with 500 fork stabs full force, fuck did that hurt.
Now I have actual control over my Aura. I can make it go to my feet for higher jumps to my hands for stronger force to my chest and core to put up my defense. As I was thinking of all the cool stuff I could do. Thinking about these things I didn't see Clover came from behind drop kicking me, but she bounced off of my Aura. Feeling this I turned around to see a gracefully landed Clover with a huge smile.
"Jesus Christ are you improve at a tremendous rate, if this keeps up you'll surpass me in a couple of months." She said happily that I would be able to protect myself soon.
"You really think that," I said, getting excited.
"Of course it takes months for people to subconsciously have their Aura up." She said happily.
"Good two more days until I'm fully healed then we really train," I said happily that I might get the dream body I always wanted. Let me tell you, I didn't know what I was getting myself into.
Day 9 of Training
"Wake up soldier!" I hear Clover yell at me.
"Wha….what happened?" I said while getting up from my sleeping bag.
"I said, get up worm!" She yelled at me louder than before.
"Ok, ok stop yelling what's going on? What time is it?" I said not understanding what's going on.
"It's five in the morning and it's time to exercise the thing you've been avoiding." She said with a smile.
"I haven't been avoiding it. I just want to be safe rather than sorry about my injuries." I said defending myself, really it's best to be safe than sorry, something I learned early in life.
"All I heard is bitch talk, now give me 1000 push ups!" She yelled at me again.
"1000 push ups, I can't do that I can barely do 34 in a row," I said not getting what she said.
"Not in a row you idiot, just added up. Now start and don't get back up until you're done or I'll give you something to scream about!" Feeling the hair on my body straighten when she said that I immediately start doing push ups so I can get them over with. As I was approaching 500 my Aura started to light up like a dark red Christmas tree. Wonder why, but I still kept going. After 4 hours of horrible pain and disgusting sweating, I finished. The second I was done Clover stepped in front of me looking down at me with disappointment. Why was she looking at me like that, I finished what she said to do.
"That took you 4 hours. I expected you to be done in one. Now for punishment for being weak, you have to start pushing the back of the carriage." She said with a disappointed voice.
"But it's already being pulled by the horses," I said wanting to rest a little before I do another exercise.
"Then you're going to help them then." She said as she threw me off the back of the carriage for me to start pushing. I felt that if I don't she won't let me back on the carriage, so I did what she said and pushed. I felt I wasn't doing anything. In reality, the carriage was going an extra mph with me pushing.
"Push harder, you need to always be putting all of your efforts into training or it won't work now, put some effort into it," Clover said, giving me some advice. It's true if you don't try your hardest during training then it won't work like it's supposed to.
"When am I done?" I said feeling really hungry.
"When I say so now keep pushing harder!". She fell wanting me to put more effort into it.
I kept pushing with all of my force into it. For three hours I kept this up. I tried to at least make the carriage go faster than normal and I did. My entire body felt like it was on fire from the soreness. Pain was the only thought I had and the thought of how good it will feel when I start sleeping.
"Come back on maggot, time for lunch. You'll need your rest for this next one." Without saying anything I came back on and dragged myself to the food and started snacking on it before the next tortu… I mean exercise. Finishing my food feeling better with food in my stomach and being rested up. My shirt was pulled and I started to be dragged. Fucking Clover was dragging me to the open part of the carriage. Wait she better not be doing what I think she's doing. Without hesitation, for my safety, she threw me off the carriage.
"Run and catch up with the carriage before the Grimm get you." She said like it was a joke.
In an instant, I got up and started running because right now I didn't have any of my weapons so I ran as fast as I could to the carriage. When I was a few feet from the carriage it started to go faster, Motherfuck she probably told the driver to go faster.
Running with all I could muster I had to distract myself from the pain in my legs and torso so I just looked around, I saw trees in every direction and birds flying overhead and one bird caught my eye it looked almost like a crow, dammit I better not get some bad luck from it. After 2 hours of running after the carriage I finally got on, my body was destroyed by the nonstop training. A Beowolf did chase me, but it ate my Dust when I saw it chasing me.
"Good job I didn't have to tell the driver to stop, now get an hour of rest then we start sparring because with your shitty combat skills you'll die very easily out here." She said it like it was a fact.
After I finished my rest time I got up and Clover was in front of me with all of my weapons and armor. Putting all of them on so I could get better at all of them.
"This is how it will go. I'll teach you form, How to fight and adapt to your opponents fighting style, then I'll show you how to use Aura with your weapon to increase the power of your strikes." She said getting into a fighting stance. "Now the weapon order will be Longsword, Shortsword, Daggers, Revolver, Bow, then extra practice with the Longsword." She said our schedule. I decide to not argue and go with what she says. After 7 hours straight of learning how not to fight like an idiot and ways to disarm your opponent and to actually fight and have a chance at winning without a shitton of luck that I usually had.
It was a grueling process, but I did feel like I was making progress. Laying my beaten and bruised body down the pains started to fade slowly. I think I won't heal fast enough to train tomorrow.
"Andres you're probably thinking will you won't be able to train tomorrow and the answer is yes you will because your Aura will heal you up during the night and tomorrow you'll just feel a little sore from today's training. You're progressing faster than I thought. If we keep this up you'll be ready to take on Beringel no problem when we're done with traveling. I slowly drag myself in my sleeping bag and fall asleep like a baby without a second thought.
Day 8-15 of Training
"Wake up maggot time to train!" Clover said starting off every day as the days passed I felt my body and Aura get much stronger. I even lost more fat, but it's not enough to show my growing muscles yet. I felt like I could be picking up a car now, but I kept up with the training and did whatever Clover said that related to training, she did try to take advantage of me and make me wash her clothes as training, but I didn't listen to her.
From what Clover said my very generic stance of keeping the Sword in front of me will be fine for now, but later in the future, I'll make my own to suit my combat style. She said my skills with the Longsword was incredible, I was able to even block her slow attacks back when I first started, but now I was blocking her medium speed attacks a major improvement for just 7 days ago. All of my other weapons I was good at, but not as good with the Longsword. The Aura attacks she said she was going to teach me. They are one of the coolest things you've ever seen, normally with no Aura I with a full power swing I can get a quarter of a big tree with Aura helping me I get to ⅞ through the tree, and with Aura enhancing strike I cut through the tree and the one right next to it with a clean straight cut. My Aura is much stronger than it used to be, now I can send Aura through my body and manually heal my wounds and I could use it to focus my Aura in the one spot where my enemy's attacking and it will be blocked all of the attack and it only takes is a little bit of Aura. Clover said that only Aura Monks know how to do that and teach no one else.
So I'm a bullshitingly advancing at an incredible speed, I think this is what Paarthurnax said was that special thing about me. I kinda understand why I was so good at some sports back then. I wonder why am I improving so fast, I really hope it won't you know, Turn my world upside down. The Bow I just got from Kakariko is awesome its so strong and when Grimm come out of the forest to mess with us, I always practice with it on the Grimm, I'll kill the Grimm then jump off to grab the very limited arrows I have and run back on before Clover realizes I'm not on the carriage anymore and makes an impromptu training session with the situation, yeah she's already done that.
So far on our journey me and Clover have gotten closer, we confide in each other what we think all the time now. She's become a person I can rely on and I rely on very few people. I hate putting my problems on others. It always makes me angry when people do that to friends. She may be an asshole sometimes, but she's a good person who has my back when I need it.
"Good job Andres, now to teach your principles of fighting, I made them just for you," Clover said very seriously with none of her carefree personality around. She already gave me the basic rules, guess this is the full package.
"What are they?" I said getting ready to listen to whatever she had to say.
"Rule 1, Don't fight when you can end the battle from the very beginning, kill your enemy. If you do this the people around you will live. They might hate you for what you did, but they'll be alive to be able to complain." She said like it's not hard to just kill people. I've killed people already, but I've only done that because it was my only option.
"But I don't want to kill, I only did it as a final option," I said not wanting to become a murder because it's easier to do.
"This is your final option, this deal is your world's only way of surviving. If you told me was true then your world won't survive the next attack from the Dragons. You have to be careful with this gift and not throw it away because you decided to give your enemy mercy and they decided to keep fighting and kills you because of your hesitation to take their life." She said angrily to me.
"I need to think about what you said," I said confused. I understand this deal is the final chance for Earth's survival. If I need to kill I will.
"Rule 2, Always keep your eyes on the enemy, never lose that connection because if you do you're putting yourself at a disadvantage." Yeah with Adam he kept disappearing and appearing and that was really not good.
"Rule 3, Use everything you can to win. Honor is nonsense and utterly useless. When I say everything. I mean everything from throwing dirt in the enemy's eyes to biting them." I am the last chance and I can't go out. I need to win no matter what.
"Rule 4, Never underestimate your enemy, being cocky ends most warriors' lives." She said, saddened by that rule, fallen friends.
"The Final and most important Rule. Survive, wounds heal, Death doesn't." She said, giving me a look. She's right run away if I'm too weak.
Hours later after our talk, we started to eat our lunch. I tried to ignore the taste of the "Food" I was eating and with one thought I been having every day since the attack on Kakariko made me forget the taste completely.
How can I even trust Clover, not just trust her, but even be near her? I mean, the me that I known for the last 15 years should have told her to fuck off and said some emotional speech about her betrayal burning the bridge between us, but I didn't.
Across from me eating the same food as me said in a teasing voice. "Hey Andres try not thinking too hard, you might hurt yourself." I look up with a frown that appear during my dinner. Clover saw my look of anger and hurt and said concerned. "Hey what's wrong Andres?"
I set my bowl of food down and look her straight in the eyes. My body moving on its own and my mouth opened without me thinking, the truest form of what I felt came out of my mouth. "No, I…..Clover...everytime I see you I feel happy that I know you, but theirs this rage I can't let go of. What you did, it left a mark on me." I tried my hardest to ignore what transpired in Kakariko because I needed to focus on my training, but if I didn't handle this I know it would have eaten me inside.
Clover put down her bowl too and looked at me with a regretful look and said. "I...I'm sorry Andres. Even though I betrayed the white fang and fought against them I still feel I haven't redeemed myself and even if I somehow through some miracle of God I stop the White Fang. I know it will never make up for what I've done." The whole time she looked me in the eye and suddenly her regretful stare turned into a hopeful one. "Andres, I made a huge mistake, I practically ruined our friendship from the beginning but we can still be friends. I know even if I do everything I can to be forgiven it's up to you. Forgiveness isn't earned with merit it's given."
"Tell me Clover, how can I ever forgive you," I said a little angry, as I said that I think I already have the answer.
"I don't know, but I do hope you can. I don't want to ruin what we can have," she said, what we have. It isn't really much, but when you have no one left. That "not much" become so important.
I look at her and laugh a bit out of awkwardness and say. "You know the really fucked up thing is Clover. If I was living my normal life and this situation came up, I would have never talked to you again." I knew exactly the reason why I trust and maybe even forgive her even after her getting me captured and tortured and the reason disgusted me. "Clover just give me time to think ok." I get up and walk to the sleeping bags leaving a hurt Clover.
The reason I still trust her is because I have no one else. I want to trust someone, anyone, even if they betrayed me. If I don't have that one person I don't think I could keep up the Will of being a Hero. I don't want to be all alone in all of this.
Day 16-18 of Training
These last three days I've been put into a different level of training, we didn't talk about what happened a couple nights ago. She wanted to squeeze out as much progress out of me before we separate. It might seem like a sadistic thing, but I see that she's worried about me going into the world unprotected, even if I was getting much stronger every day. When it was all over I knew a new level of workout soreness. My clothes and body smelled disgusting from the training from the last two days. You might be wondering how you wash up, out in the wilderness all you do is grab a rag and put some water Dust on it and start scrubbing your naked body and clothes until the stench is gone, and let me tell you it takes a while.
Something I noticed is I might not be that attractive, but Clover is, she was literally what a beautiful fit Model would be and I always tried not to stare, but my hormonal body curse it, it makes me want to. She caught me staring once and started to tease me about it all the time now. I've also seen her look at me when we're traveling. She'll just look at me occasionally for some reason. I really don't think she likes me because I really don't think anybody would, I mean my personality is complete shit, also I'm pretty sure she'll be a pedo if she did like me, or does this planet have different laws. I would think so because people died very easily here so you have to live life fast before you die, what a sad world I would love to help it out, but my world needs me now, maybe I can convince Paarthurnax to let me stay here and try to help this world.
There is also my mysterious driver. With us. I've never seen him outside of his little place for steering the horses, it's a little weird, but I don't care enough to check. It was the final night of Training and Clover was teaching me everything she could before bed because she wanted me to be at full strength if something happened at Silverkeep Town like what had happened with Kakariko Village.
She was a great teacher she taught me so much from learning how to use defensively and keep it up subconsciously, yes I can almost all the time have my Aura up and not only that, if I knew where an attack was going to land I would put my Aura at the point they would hit I'll be able to block it without using almost any Aura, weird how it works, but incredibly useful to know, to being able to actually have a fighting chance at winning a fight legitso.
We went to bed talking with each other, the conversation came up of how much what she's done for me meant, what I might be a guy, but I'm a mussy type I'm not the always need to be a tough person. On my end for being a teacher and friend and on her end for being a friend she could trust she had almost no one to talk to about her problems so having me around she seemed so much more happier than when I first met her during that little Grimm attack. I fell asleep thinking how much I'll miss Clover, the only friend I trust in this world. It's pretty sad she, the person who betrayed me is my most trusted friend here.
Day 31 of 720 before Earth's Death
The next morning Clover woke me up to breakfast. It was a first because she would normally yell at me to train and when I was finished with that, I would eat her very hard to swallow cooking, don't let her know I think that.
"Thanks, Clover you make me feel so special," I said obviously happy and a little sarcastic about the food she just gave me.
The food was burnt, fuck. "Well, I have to now because we won't see each other for a long time." She said with a happy smile.
"I will miss you though, you've been a great teacher and friend," I said, giving her compliments.
"You've been the same for me too." She said, giving me back the compliments.
"Hey, we're here!" I hear as I was eating Clovers very burnt cooking, I don't know why, but today it tastes really good. I look at the direction the carriage was going and see a 15 ft wall made of stone bricks, unlike Kakariko wooden walls. I saw nobody on the wall on guard duty, but I ignored it there probably on their breaks.
"Guess our separation is soon." She said very soberly like when a little kid at an amusement park gets told they have to go and they pout about leaving.
"Yeah let's get me ready to leave," I said with a sad tone because I won't have a friend by my side on my quest. We packed me food that will last two weeks in the wild and all of the equipment I'll need to survive out in the wilderness, she also gave me 500 lien, guess that's Remnants currency. The driver stopped and we got off and walked slowly to the gate of the massive wall. We face each other and get ready to say our farewells.
"I'll miss you, Andres." As she kissed me on the lips surprisingly and walked back to the carriage. "Maybe when you get back we can have some fun together." She said, giving me a wink. I was too immobilized from what she just did I couldn't speak. She got back on the carriage that was moving back to Kakariko. She waved to me and with getting some control over my body I waved back.
God, she does like me, ignore that focus, mission first, get laid later.
Turning around to the gate and I knocked. Waiting there was no response. I waited for five minutes with still no response and decided I'll get in myself and I did with an Aura jump I clear the walls of the town.
Without knowing a tall slender Humanoid Grimm watched me jump onto the walls and go over, it walked back into the forest to go back to its Nest.
I was on the top of the wall and looked around. The town wasn't as nice as Kakariko. It was filled with dirt roads and a small portion had concrete roads, but they looked worn down and the buildings looked like they needed to be painted over from neglect. The town was filled with factory looking buildings. It had a work only air. Having enough reconasins I jumped down. Landing on the floor, I didn't feel much from the long drop thanks to my Aura protecting me.
Walking down the road looking for someone who I could ask for directions. There were people in the road, but they looked like they were walking very slowly. Walking up to one of them and said "Hey can you point me in the direction of the transport station."
"It's over there." The depressed looking man said pointing down the road. He must be having a bad day.
Following what he said and when the way he pointed. as I walked all I saw were people who looked like they wanted to give up on life. This was incredibly weird and suspicious, but it could be that a person everybody knew died and they're all down about it. Walking past a park on my way there I see a kid on a bench with ice cream in his hand. His eyes looked like the life in him left as his ice cream fell from his hands.
Ok maybe this Village is in trouble, time to find the Mayor and find out what's happening, good guy Andres at it again.
Looking around the place for an important building and seeing one building that looked freshly painted and looked important. Speed walking over I get to the doors of the building and knock. I waited and was about to knock down the door, but I heard voices on the other side. The door opened up.
A teenage girl with white skin, short dark brown hair. She has wavy locks on one side of her face, dyed with a gradient that starts as a dark brown goes to caramel. She wore a tan colored shirt with a dark brown waist cincher. She wears long, dark brown trousers with ribbons on the left side and a brown belt with cartridges. Above it, she wore a brown belt of cartridges with a gold crosshairs buckle. A black strip of clothing from her side. She wore dark brown, high-heeled leather boots. She also wore black gloves and necklaces. She wore a beret of a darker brown and a pair of black fashion designer sunglasses. In her left hand, she was holding a briefcase looking bag with gold dots.
To her side was a teenage boy with dark skin and dark, messy copper hair. He wore a sleeveless, muted orange zipper vest with a high collar, a pair of black jeans, and brown and workout shoes. His eyes are pure white, maybe he's blind. His arms are covered in scars, and he has a vertical scar on his lips, someones a cutter. He also wears a pair of long black gloves and has several pouches on his hip.
"Uhh hi, I was wondering can I talk to the Mayor," I said wanting to talk to the chief of the place.
"Depends, Why do you want to talk to her," The girl said with a tone like if I said the wrong answer she would kill me.
"I was wondering if this town needed help, the people look like they wanted to end their lives and that's not normal," I said I really want to help these people from whatever situation they are in.
"You noticed too, come on in." The girl said her attitude changed dramatically from ready to fight to happy.
The white eyed boy speaks up. "You're not from this town are you?" He says putting the piece together why I'm not like the others.
"No, I just got here," I said truthfully
"That explains why you aren't all emo right now." The girl says with a pat on my lower back that it's a little too close to my ass. Without me knowing the white eyed guy starts to not like me now.
"What's happening," I said wanting some information.
"We don't know, go talk to the Mayor maybe she'll let you help out." The girl said to me. She walked me to the Mayor's office. She opened a door and I followed her through. I entered the office of the Mayor and saw fancy everything from the fan on the ceiling to the shelf that looked like it was hand carved. Seeing a desk that looked very beautiful and behind it was a woman was brunette with tan skin with a complete suit and tie, she had glasses and overall she looked very professional. Wait why isn't she looking like shit like the others. As I walked towards the Mayor the girl who I followed walked out. Guess it's just us now.
"Hello, who are you? I haven't seen you before in my town." The woman said with an obviously fake smile.
"Yeah, I just got here from Kakariko Village," I said where I just came from.
"My, I heard of the Village being attacked, were you there?" She said showing a bit of concern for me or the people of Kakariko, well hopefully.
"Yeah I was, I came here because the town seems a little weird right now," I said wanting to get to the reason I'm here.
"Yes I know, it's just I don't know what is happening. it's as if my citizens' willpower is being sucked away." She said sadly, but my instincts started going off, but I ignored them for now. What she said about will power being drained it sounds familiar
"Willpower sucked away that seems familiar," I said then I remember where I remember it from. I started to dig through my bag for the book about Grimm. The Mayor gave me a suspicious look as I searched through my bag. Pulling out my book of Grimm I turn to a certain page of a Grimm I would never want to encounter. Finding the page of the Apathy it looked Humanoid, but it's powers are what makes it so dangerous. It can drain your will to fight then your will to live if you're around it for too long. The book didn't have a lot of information on it, but it did have enough for my hypothesis.
"How long has this been happening," I said needing the information I was asking for.
"This started for the last two months, one day everybody seemed a little down and over time they became people who are barely able to get out of bed." She said giving me plenty of the info I asked for.
"I think this particular Grimm is responsible for this," I said, showing her The book's picture of the Grimm. "The Apathy it drains our willpower to live this has to be your town's problem," I said giving her what I think is the problem.
"Yes that would make sense, but the Apathy is incredibly rare and only inhabits Anima, not Sanus. I used to be a huntsman but retired and I've only had one encounter with an Apathy. They are incredibly dangerous." She said, almost debunking my hypothesis. While she was looking at me she noticed my book "That book, are you a Beacon student as well." She said, remembering that this book is only in Beacon's library.
"I uhh I'm not, I just have this because I'm holding it for a friend, but to more important matters, I want to help your town and I think I can help track down this Grimm and kill it," I said telling her I want to help her town.
"I see, but I have almost nobody to go with you and take a Apathy by yourself is almost suicide." She said trying to tell me to say I can't, in a polite way.
"Ok, I'll find some people that will help, are you ok with that," I said wanting her to say yes because if she says no I'll still try to help this town even if that makes me a criminal for not doing as told.
She looked conflicted then she spoke. "Yes, if you gather a team, I'll let you track this Grimm down."
"Great, I'll go gather a team," I said leaving the office and a woman with a new problem on her mind.
I walked back to the front door to gather my team then as my hand touched the doorknob I heard a voice. "Hey, I heard you need a team." I hear a feminine voice say turning around I see the girl from before.
"Hi again and yeah I need a team to track down a certain Grimm that is probably this town's real problem."
"Cool how about my team, team CFVY the best second years from Beacon." She said proudly, almost arrogantly of being the best at Beacon.
Hearing that they're from Beacon put me on high alert. Did Ozpin send them to this town if I happened to pass by? I asked the question on my mind? "You're from Beacon, why are you all the way out here?" I really hoped I didn't hear Ozpin's name.
"This is a mission to protect this town, but the actual huntsmen actually have that covered, we just are reserved." The girl says without a hint of malice in it.
Thank the fucking lord I really don't think I'm strong enough to fight off Ozpin's manipulated army yet. "So your team, how many are you?" I said wanting the exact number to start making a plan.
"Their four of us. Hold on I never said what my name is. My name is Coco Adel leader of Team CFVY, nice to meet ya handsome, and my teammates over there on the couches are Velvet Scarlatina our cutest member, the guy you meet with me before Fox Alistair the badass that knows how to fight hand to hand, And Yatsuhashi Daichi our badass powerhouse." She said with confidence. So the blind guy is Fox and I assume that Velvet is the rabbit Faunus that has a pair of brown rabbit ears, she has long, brown hair and brown eyes she's wearing short, long-sleeved brown jacket with a golden zipper, brown shorts with golden detail and black leggings. along with golden spaulders and vambraces on both arms, as well as a similar belt, and she had heels, but they look like they would hurt if she used them for a kick. The really big and tall guy whose name is Yatsuhashi he looked athletic with shaved-short black hair and tanned skin, he's wearing mostly pale green and brown attire. He has a long short-sleeved robe, which he wears on one shoulder over a black muscle shirt. The robe is fastened at the waist by a leather armored belt with two pouches on it. He also wears brown pants and black and green boots. His left arm bears a 5 layer side which extends up past his shoulder. He also wears a pair of bracers as well as a pair of black gloves with green plates on the backs, on his side as a huge Sword that must be his weapon. They all looked like very bored colorful fighters.
"Ok then let's go back to the Mayor, what's her name by the way?" Realizing that I never got her name.
"It's Ebony," Velvet said almost immediately with confidence, then turned into a shy mess. I don't know what just happened.
All of them grab their weapons and come with me to the Mayor's office to tell her of my team to investigate where the Apathy is. Ebony seemed like she didn't want Team CFVY to leave, but agreed to let them go when I came to their aid and convinced her that this is the best option to do. She seemed really suspicious about the whole thing. It seemed like she didn't want us to investigate this even if it helped the town.
"Thanks back there for the assists, wait what is your name by the way," Coco said, thanking me for what I did.
"Yeah of course I still need your help and if she said no, I would have done it without her permission, Ohh yeah my name is Andres Mondragon nice to meet you guys," I say with a smile.
"Your name isn't a color?" Fox says to me.
"No it isn't, but it does mean something. It means Warrior, Brave, Courageous, and Strong." I say proud of my name.
"Quite the name you have, your parents predicted correctly," Yatsuhashi tells me, Aww what a flirter
"What's our move leader?" Velvet says, but no one answers her question.
"Hey, Andres what's our move?" Coco says. What isn't Coco the leader, why am I the leader?
"Wait why am I the leader?" I said confused with what Coco said.
"Well you proposed the mission so you're the leader until we get to the fighting, then I take over. Also, what's your Semblance?" Great, I'm in charge of superpowered teenagers. Hopefully, they listen to what I say.
"Sure I'll be the leader for now and I haven't unlocked it yet," I said giving them the truth.
"That sucks. Hopefully, you get your soon, mine is Hype. It makes Dust way more effective so my gun does way more damage. Fox's is Telepathy. He can communicate with all of us without speaking and we can communicate to others he's connected to as well. Velvet is Photographic Memory she can replicate anyone's technique from memory and her weapon goes perfectly with her Semblance, and YatsuhashI's I won't say because he doesn't like having it so he almost never uses it." She said giving me their abilities.
"Thanks for the info and by the way, how does Fox see, he's blind right," I said, wanting to confirm what I thought.
"I can't see, but I have an "ADA." To do it for me." Fox said like I know what he's talking about.
"Huh, What's an "ADA."," I said I'm pretty sure he isn't talking about Ada Wong from Resident Evil because that would be 5 different types of weird.
"Sorry forgot you're an idiot, it's an Accessibility Dialogue Assistant, or simply, "ADA.", is a device that aids people with disabilities, specifically, blindness. The device looks almost invisible and it's an earpiece. It's designed to send sonar pulses to scan the nearby environment and give me 'artificial sight.' It's activated through voice control or tapping the device. The system is set to adapt to how I like it, and it contains a compass feature. "ADA." Also has a battle mode called the Cyrano Protocol, which scans the area for nearby weapons and assesses both the weapons and the user's fighting style." He said telling me about this awesome technology. It can fucking make a blind person into Daredevil that's so cool. Also, I think this guy didn't like me. I didn't see it, but Coco's elbows hit him once I wasn't looking.
Then I got a weird question. "Does it have ground piercing radar?" I say without thinking.
"Yeah it does, why do you ask?" He says, curious why I brought it up.
"Just want to know just in case," I said always wanting to know everything at my disposal
"So where do we go now Chief," Coco said happy to do something. They've been doing nothing the whole two weeks and a half because the huntsman says they got it handled, turns out they don't. How much you want to bet that they aren't actually huntsmen, but frauds trying to get a quick buck.
"Let's go outside the wall to look for them," I said wanting to start tracking the Apathy down right away.
"Were not allowed outside the wall." Velvet says shyly.
"Listen the people here are in real danger the Grimm we're going to track down and kill is known as an Apathy it drains peoples willpower to live and it's prowling around this town's walls and if we kill it the people will be turned back to how they normally are," I said assuming that will happen, hopefully, I'm correct.
"Apathy, I've never heard of it," Coco said not knowing what I just said. How, they go to school where I stole the book, now I'm really glad I didn't stay in Beacon.
"Probably because you didn't listen when Port said to read the book about Grimm." Yatsuhashi saying why she never heard of it.
"Probably, ok let's get started," Coco said getting impatient about still doing nothing.
"Ok, but let me leave some stuff behind." I leave my backpack, but take a small first aid packet and I brought my weapons and the flares that I grabbed at Kakariko. I took a couple of this world's granola bars because I get hungry really fast.
We take off leaving the house to the wall of the Village. We get to the wall and I get an idea of how to track the Grimm because I don't know how to track people or Grimm. "Hey Fox, can you use you "ADA." To find some tracks the Grimm left behind." I said hoping he says he can.
"Yeah let me just put it into that mode." He said tapping his earpiece. He was quiet for a moment then. "Come on guys I found some footprints." He said while running to where the prints were. The group starts following him. We leave the view of the town and go deeper into the forest to find these Grimm. We followed Fox for 20 minutes. In these 20 minutes, I had some small talk with the CV of their team and they seemed really nice, but Coco kept flirting with me. That was uncomfortable. We finally see a Beowolf meeting up with his pack of 50 other Grimm. Grouping up to decide what we should do now.
"Let's kill them there too close to the town and right now it's radiating negativity," I said wanting to destroy the Grimm before they become a problem later.
"He's right, now it's my turn to take over. Fox make room for Yatsuhashi to go full power in the space Fox makes and Velvet make sure that the two of them don't get hit and I'll be gunning them down from over here.
"Yes ma'am!" They said before as they jumped into position.
"What about me?" I said a little surprised Coco came up with that plan so fast and what my position would be.
"You protect me or just lay back and watch because I can protect myself." She said as her bag turned into a goddamn minigun. The Fuck.
The Fox starts the battle off. He punches the Beowolf that was rejoining his group towards the horde of Grimm. As the Beowolf flew it started to expand and then exploded in the middle of the horde pushing them away, how did he do that? With perfect timing, Yatsuhashi jumped into the clearing Fox made and swung his massive green Sword down and created a shockwave pushing all of them further and killing two. He starts killing Grimm after Grimm and when a Beowolf came from behind Fox came to defend him. Velvet also joined her two teammates fighting in the middle of the horde. From where I was standing they looked like they were killing everything that wasn't Human. Hearing a spinning noise I turn. Seeing Cocos minigun spinning I cover my ears. As soon as the barrel went fast enough Coco let loose a storm of Dust bullets that shredded the Grimm to the left and right of her teammate. As they were fighting I just watched, but my instincts told me to turn around. Turning around I saw a towering figure two feet from me.
It was an Ursa that looked pretty old. It had bone armor all over its body and had spikes coming from its back. I jumped back while getting ready to attack with my new Longsword. The beast swung and I dodged. It kept this up four more times. I was looking for an opening that I could take and on the fifth it overswinged and my opening appeared. Within a second I separated it's right arm from its body, with it stumbling trying to gather it's balance from losing weight from it's right side. I went for the other arm and severed it As well. With speed that I didn't have three weeks ago, I slid under the beasts legs and got up. I jumped up with my Sword and with a powerful slash I severed its head from its body
Wow, all that training really paid off. Looking back at the group they were just finishing off the last of the Grimm. They didn't even look tired, they started to come back to me and Coco.
"Wow, you guys are really strong," I said complimenting how well they took on the horde of Grimm almost like it was nothing.
"Thank you." Velvet said Bowing, wow she really doesn't know how to be less formal.
"We are, but you're not so bad yourself. I saw those moves that you used on that Ursa Major." Coco said complimenting me on my skills.
About to respond to Coco, but before I could speak I saw a Beowolf come out of the forest behind Coco, I pulled out my Revolver and fired. It's head turned into a paste and started to disappear, finished with that I went back to the conversation. "Thanks, Coco, let's go back to the town and try to find more prints, actually should have told Fox that he should look for Humanoid footprints, but not normal, also my bad I kinda forgot," I said embarrassed that I forgot that important part. We would have been at this all day if we looked only for Grimm prints. Hearing this new information Fox groaned and stared intently at me. Not noticing it we all ran back to the town not wanting to waste time if these people are on a timer.
We got back to the wall of the town, but Coco wanted to refill on ammo while we're here. Walking around while Coco and the rest of her team were in the ammunition store, I took a quick walk. People all around me were looking like they haven't had the will to shower for days. The huntsmen were doing better than the normal people, but not by that much that's why Ebony wasn't affected that much and why Team CFVY looks alright. Having enough of this incredibly depressing walk I go back to the store everybody in. As I was walking I bumped into a little girl. She fell down and in an instant, I started to help her up and said. "I'm so sorry." Instead of giving me a response, she ran away and into an alley. Weird, but I felt like something was wrong.
I quickly checked my body and I felt empty spots in my pockets where my Scales are all the time. My eyes go so wide they should have been the size of dinner plates. That little bitch fucking pickpocketed me.
Running after her immediately, I need those Scales to save Earth. Entering the barley lit alley seeing no one. Dammit, the little shit disappeared.
Then my instinct flared up intensely, following what it was telling me, I moved my head back from its location and used my arm to grab something. Grabbing what felt like an arm, then I heard a feminine yelp. In an instant, a surprised green haired woman was in front of me. What just happened, remember Semblances exist I didn't question it anymore. I really didn't want to hurt her because she was probably trying to get by, by stealing.
"Hey I won't hurt you, I just want my things back," I said in a calm voice wanting her to calm down because her face looked of utter surprise.
"You won't report me?" She said almost quietly
"No, I get that some people have hard lives and they have to do things they don't like to get by," I said. It's true and also I really just want my Scales back and no conflict because when I fight almost all the time I end up in a hospital, not a good track record.
"I'm sorry that I did that, but I am just really hungry and the store I worked at closed up because of what's happening to the town." The girl said almost desperately.
"Don't worry I get it, but don't worry I'll make sure this town gets back to its former glory," I say trying to raise her spirit before she becomes like the rest, actually when I mention it she looks almost like the Apathy doesn't affect her weird, but she does have her Aura unlocked so that might be it.
"Really, how?" She said almost like she really needed the information.
"Me and my team are going to track down the Grimm that's doing this," I said giving her the plan I made up to kill the Grimm. "What's your name by the way," I say curious who I'm talking to.
"M..my name is Clover," She said, stuttering. Weird, Clover must be a common name. If it was a common name it would kinda explain meeting two different people named Clover.
"Cool," I said, a little suspicious, "Can I have my stuff back?" I said really wanting the Scales back in my possession.
"Yeah sure here, but what is it?" She asked while handing me my Dragon Scales that I need on my quest.
"Just some things that remind me of my home, Well see you later," I say not wanting to tell her the incredibly weird story of how I got them and I didn't want people knowing their special.
Walking away from the alley and going towards the store. I can't put my finger on it, but I feel like that girl was lying. I don't know, but I should keep an eye out for her now.
Team CFVY was just exiting the store cool I made it on time. Walking toward them to start the Grimm hunt again. "Ok, you guys ready?" I said, wanting to keep hunting the Grimm. We only have 7 hours of light left.
"Yeah, I refilled and got some extra ammo for this Apathy," Coco said with an overconfident smile, I felt a little arrogance in it.
"Good let's get going, Fox it's all you, no pressure," I said giving the operation to Fox.
"Like that's ever stopped me before." He said overconfidently with a smile. We ran to the wall to hurry this along. We got back to the wall. We waited for Fox to give us some order, but instead, we walked all around the perimeter of the wall. After going half of the perimeter he finally found some tracks and he ran into the forest and we followed after him.
"Are these the Grimm prints I said to look for?" I said, wanting to confirm that we were on the right, Grimm.
"Yeah, they're almost Human, but have way too long toes and nails." He said a little annoyed I'm questioning him, but I live by the "Trust, but Verify" Rule, it makes life so much easier.
"Maybe it's just a Faunus that came through here." Velvet says mickly.
"Probably not, the people in the Village are all ready to kill themselves. They wouldn't come out here and this Village is almost nowhere near any settlements." I said using logic to debunk her maybe.
"Yeah, your right." She says happier that, that we might actually be after the Grimm this time.
After an hour of following Fox, we got to a clearing. I didn't notice this while running here, but there was a huge wall of stone at the end of the clearing. In the wall a dark cave was in view. We were about to go further, but Fox stopped us. He telepathy everyone so we can talk to each other and said "Wait, look." He said without talking.
Looking where he pointed and a Humanoid Grimm with a slender body with a skull looking head and all of its fingers and toes looked like they were four times the length it should be. Damn does it look fugly, pulling out my Revolver I was about to shoot it, but it entered the cave. Damn could have killed it before it got in the cave.
"Ok team, let's go in and kill the Grimm," Coco said almost immediately wanting to go in without a plan.
"No, let's go back to the town and gather some huntsman, it's better to be safe than sorry," I said not wanting to die because we didn't make a plan.
"Why, it's just in there by itself," Coco said she knew it was by itself.
"We don't know that, what if it's leading us into an ambush," I said wanting to have a group of actual huntsmen take care of this and not us kids and we die because we aren't strong enough.
"Grimm aren't smart, they can't do that, if you're too chicken to come with us then stay out here," Coco said arrogantly. What the fuck is wrong with her, she's putting her team in danger when she doesn't need to. She nodded to her team and they all walked into the dark cave with no light source. Why aren't her team going against this it's almost suicide to do this.
I was about to leave to go get some help, but everything my body said to go with them. Knowing to listen to my gut I go in with them into the cave. Why is she being so idiotic, we should have brought actual pros to handle this not us. I can't just leave them. I had a bad feeling that they'll die here by themselves. Caught up to them, but it was so dark that I couldn't see anything. We were only 80 feet in and it was almost pitch dark then I remember that I have flares. I said, "Hold on let me grab something." I said looking for them in my pockets then I found them in my back pocket.
"Please tell me, it'll help us," Fox said annoyed with me, this guy really has a problem with me.
"Of course, I'm prepared for almost anything," I say igniting the flare. Wondering how long I'll last, I see its information tag on the side. It lasts for 45 mins, cool. I have four of them so that's 3 hours.
"Come we got 3 hours before we had no light," I said warning them of our time limit. I really wanted to leave. My whole body was telling me to leave.
"Hold on, I feel something coming from the entrance," Fox said warning us.
We look back at the entrance in a fighting stance for a Grimm to come through, but nothing happened.
"Fox what's happening," Coco said, a little confused with what's happening.
Fox's face turns from concentration to fear. "Someone's trying to destroy the entrance!" He said with fear in his voice.
Fuck someone doing that who, doesn't matter just get to the entrance before they trap us in here. I ran with all the speed I trained for as fast as possible to the entrance to stop whoever's doing it, but as I got to the 15 ft left point an explosion went off throwing me back. The entire entrance caved in trapping us in.
Fuck, no this is why we should have got some pro huntsman, damn it. Turning around to see my group. They all looked desperate; they all went to the rocks that blocked the exit and started digging their way out. As they started throwing rocks that catapults would use then I heard creaking from the top of the cave, seeing this I immediately yell. "Stop you'll kill us, Stop!" They all stop and look at me with confusion mixed with desperation. I point up to the cracking ceiling and say. "If you keep digging the cave will collapse on us." That stopped them and they backed up from the fragile support of the cavern.
"What do we do now?" Yatsuhashi spoke up for the second time this day. Ok brain think of something what do teenagers normally have on them. That's it hopefully they have it on them.
"Do you guys have something to communicate with the town?" I said in a desperate voice. I really don't want to die here and because an arrogant teen thought she could take on this world's destroyers by herself.
"Yeah, our scrolls." Velvet said shaken. She pulled out that weird see through yellow diamond and she looked intently at it. Her face turns from a face of hope to one of pain. "They're getting no signal dammit." She said as she started to cry.
Seeing her cry reminded me of the Grimm and we needed to keep our negativity down. "Ok, it's fine, let's just calm down. We will find a way out of here ok." I said trying to cheer up Team CFVY, but mostly Velvet I never like seeing people cry mostly when they think there's no hope.
"Yeah your right, let's find and kill the Grimm like we said we would," Coco said listening to me, but then saying something so stupid. We're trapped, we are in no circumstances to hunt for this Grimm still, we have no escape plan if things go bad and we don't know what we're up against, the point is what is wrong with her she's making a plan that will kill us.
"Wait we don't know what's down there we can't go willy nilly this Grimm is dangerous," I said hitting her with my logic.
"What do you want us to do, we can at least look for another way out will hunting for the Grimm," Coco said not listening to what I just said.
"Come on Team CFVY let's keep moving." With Coco saying that they followed her order. Fuck what's wrong with them aren't they thinking. Dammit, what do I do? I could stay here and wait for someone to come and save us or go with them to make sure they'll be alright.
Something I really hate helping people. Following the idiotic team deeper into the cave to find another exit. I really hope that what I feared most about coming in here won't happen.
