I spent my time watching TV for entertainment to pass the time faster, then the commercials popped up. Having time I got out of my bed and I walked in front of the mirror in the communal resting area and saw what was left of me, which was a lot. While most of my burns healed up, there were some scars left. The left side of my hair started to grow back and slowly I started to look like myself again. Suddenly the TV turns back to the news.
"Next up. The new religion The Dragons Saviors had a confrontation with The Hero's Army. The arguments turned violent and there were multiple injuries and two killed. Officials say five were arrested and the rest of them got away. Back to you Jim." Said a voice while images of a fight appeared.
God why are some people turning to making the Dragons into religious figures when they came here to kill us all and The Hero's Army what a bunch of bullshit the Leader says he knew Andres and knew what he thought and what he would do, so they have an excuse to do what they want in Andres's name. If Andres was here he'd say "Are you guys actually stupid." I'd know.
Both have been outlawed, but the militaries are too busy with making the World ready for another attack to deal with these both. All I know is they fear the outcome of Andres failing and I am too, but me and so many other people have faith that he will save us, but instead of having faith they made up their own Hero in their heads and believing in their own imagination.
They believe that Andres is the pure hearted one and how he is the only one to defeat the Dragons. A bunch of delusional people
Did I think Andres of all people would save us in the end, I didn't. Andres was always a good guy, whenever someone was having a bad day he'd try to help the best he can and he wouldn't expect anything in return, but even though he was really nice and respectful of people he was pretty much a loner. He'd always stay quiet in class and only spoke when he needed to. He was a B student that did the minimum and people called him a teacher's pet when he really didn't care about them.
Also he's not what you call a Leader, but he does come up with plans and typically turns into a Leader because no one wants to take that role. A lot of people respected him, but he wasn't the center of attention.
All I can say is that I'm so glad it was him, that came out wrong, I'm glad the responsibility went to the one who is the most likely to succeed because seriously he's fucking stubborn as shit.
Ever since Andres left to save us and the video of Paarthurnax 3 months ago the World almost completely destroyed it's former government structures. Business and useless companies were remade to manufacture weapons and ammo to prepare the World, except media outlets and a bit of TV networks they got to stay to inform the people and keep the people from seeing only the darkness of the World that was consuming it.
After we buried the dead almost everybody was being drafted to help the war efforts, the homeless, the old, normal people, even Athletes, and Celebrities. Nobody was too important to participate in this war. Thank goodness the kids didn't. They still had a school to go to so the parents could go train to use a gun and start putting Anti-Air guns everywhere.
While I was thinking this I heard someone walk past me with an envelope in hand and a couple of seconds later someone burst into tears. I turned around and saw a man with burns all over his body and no left leg. That wasn't the worst part. He was looking at a photo of a dead family member.
This happens all the time, it even happened to me. My little brother and my dad were killed. I loved them so much and getting a letter that said their dead was the worst. My mother and sister came to grieve and say goodbye because they were being sent to a training camp to learn to kill Dragons even though no one really knows how to kill one.
Since we're in the hospital the news gets to us last and whenever we get a message is about a dead family member. It's disgusting how many died for no reason just why, why did this happen. While 82% of the World survived unscathed the other 18% were injured and killed and most were the military of this World. Death was normal now even if we didn't like it.
I look outside and see a AA gun being built outside and a dozen people getting it ready to be used. I don't see the point of it, there is no reason we should be putting every resource into weapons that barely killed a couple Dragons so what if we have 20 times more guns.
There were only a dozen Dragons I saw in the area of our school so imagine how many there were around the World, we're stretching to grab imaginary strings. We can't defeat the Dragons, I know because when Paarthurnax grabbed me I saw how truly weak us humans were.
So pretty much all normal pleasures that used to be here are gone. The internet is being used to increase the speed of creating new super weapons, I heard a magnetic railgun was trying to be made.
What we are doing is futile. This isn't what Andres would have wanted.
He saved us not so we become so overwhelmed with fear that we become something else, something we're not.
I know one thing we will live through this because Andres will save us. When I was dropped I saw Andres eyes, he had a Fire in them, the Will to do it. I have complete faith in him, but what happens when he gets back to this new World he is trying so hard to save.
We shouldn't be making defenses to fight back. We should be living life to its fullest while we have the time. Not making everybody become a Soldier that is ready 24/7 to get on a AA gun and kill the enemy.
Not just that, but what happens when the event is over. We have weapons on every block at every house and almost every person has one. What do we do when we have so many weapons and every country has taught every single person how to fight and kill, it'll be World War 3. Do you really thing people would just throw all their weapons away, No, were too stupid to do that and this Alliance is just that, a temporary fix until the Dragon threat is gone.
Uhhhh since I was cooked by the King of the Dragons I've been hospitalized. I'm practically recovered and soon there will be a government official to come and make me join the military. I don't want to help the delusion of us beating the Dragons. I want to go after the real threat, Us.
I could say I'm useless and how I can't change the direction this World is going, but I'm not, I feel if I do try I could save Earth not from the Dragons, but from itself. Earth needs a merger of countries, not an alliance that will vanish as soon as it appears. It needs a bond that will last because everybody wants it. Andres will save the World from the Dragons and I'll save it for itself.
This day was like any other. The people living simple lives in their great city Whiterun. Like any other day everybody went on about their business, but Remnant started to shake and rumble making decorations and some people fell over, but the sturdy building stood tall and proud, but the next part was the most important.
A second later a Roar that everybody in the city felt like it was from something otherWorldly, something so powerful some people fell to their knees from the presence of the unknown animal that made the show of dominance. Everybody with their full attention looked at the source of the noise, even those that were inside. The ones outside saw the Beast made completely of Black Flames. People didn't freak out, they stood in silence and awe struck by a Legend being made in front of them.
Eorlund was outside to greet his wife after a hard day of work, but then he saw the Beast, the second he saw the Dragon coming out of Mount Helios he knew that the boy was responsible for this, the one who wanted a weapon made in Mount Helios.
A man of Legend walked out of his palace and saw the Dragon. In an instant he started to mobilize a force to go investigate to see if the Legend were real. Since he was a baby boy his father told him a story of a man wielding the power of a Dragon, but had the body of a human. The man was fierce and strong, but lacked courage.
If he got past that he could have destroyed the Grimm if the Legend is to be believed, and the man did believe and now was his chance to change his dreadful World.
He left with a dozen of his finest men to Mount Helios to search for this Legend. As he left Whiterun the night started to set so he had to station his men just outside of the entrance to climb Mount Helios, he was going to find this Legend, but he wasn't about to have his men be killed in the hellish darkness of Helios. The Grimm at night were vicious and feral. Him and his men would stay until morning and then travel further.
The next morning an hour before sunrise he woke up to the smell of fire, burning wood. He got out of his sleeping bag and looked around to find the source of the scent. As he looked around his sight landed on his watchmen pointing up the Mountain as a massive fire that kept erupting a quarter up the Mountain. Immediately the Man called his men and they headed towards the fire, his men were anxious and had a hint of fear in them, who wouldn't be when you're heading to a battlefield.
As they climbed up the Mount they heard the sound of battle. The sound was filled with roars of rage from a human and the howls of hundreds of Grimm screeching and trampling. The ground shook more as we climbed. As they climbed Grimm came from behind, his men got into position and readied to fight, but they passed them completely ignoring them to find the source of the fighting.
The men prepared to fight, but we're filled with fear. What monster could be attraction so many Grimm so strongly that they're ignoring other humans.
Soon they got to a battlefield with the ground scorched with black flame and the trees burned to charcoal. The air filled with smoke and Grimm particles. Dozens of Grimm charging a lone figure with a lump on his shoulder, the figure was just a black silhouette to the rising sun.
The figure jumped onto a Grimm and with a swing of his Sword a massive wave of black flames enveloped a horde of Grimm approaching him. The Grimm were incinerated immediately within a seconds and the black mist was all that was left, the Jarl's faith was rewarded, he finally was going to meet the Hero.
The figure after that ducked under a massive charging Goliath and stabbed it underneath it making the strong Grimm explode with black flames. The men stopped out of fear of the figure attacking them. After minutes and minutes of fighting the Grimm were crushed under his foot with ease, but the figure did get hit a couple of times. As he looked around erratically he saw us and walked forward. As he approached my men aimed their weapons.
With haste the Jarl told them to stand down and they did. The figure approached with the sun raised behind him showing us who he was.
It was a teenager with a man over his shoulder. The teen was limping and looked ready to collapse from exhaustion, his eyebagges showed how tired the teen was. His body bloodied from the numerous wounds on his body. Blood leaked down from his face as he hobbled over.
Seeing the state of the child he ran up to him ready to help a man in need. As he got to him the teen drew his Sword in the Jarl's direction stopping him from getting too close.
"We're here to help son." He said, wanting to disarm the situation.
The teens frown disappears and with a plea that sounded heartbreaking to the man. "Please save my friend."
With that said he collapsed. Within seconds blood started pooling from the child's body, but not from his friend.
Immediately I get my men to pick up the injured travelers and get my healer on the child's wound before he dies.
So this is the New Legendary Hero, what a first impression.
The void of darkness, I wonder if I am dead. Heh, how many people have I sent here? I knew it would happen at some point, but this was too soon. I wa….needed to redeem what I have done for all of the terrible things I did to people.
I'm probably going to hell, dammit I knew all those jokes about I'm going to hell were going to bite me in the ass one day.
As I thought my surroundings changed, I was on a cliff and there were two massive beams of light, one pure white and the other a hearty red. I was a good thirty feet away from the cliff and I slowly walked towards the light because something called to me.
As I got closer I saw a gravestone that said a woman's name and had a rose Symbol on it. I look up to the beam of white light and I see the woman that I lost, the one who I missed, the one that left me all alone with her.
Without my consent tears start to pour out of my eyes like rivers. The feeling of warmth filled me like I was next to her, like before when things weren't as complicated. I walked up to the white beam of light to get a closer look. The white beam was a woman in the middle and holding the hand of the red beam of light.
The red beam had a child in it that looked excited. As I was looking at the child my heart started to hurt so much from the burdens of my past, my decisions. As I looked at the white woman she reached her hand out and caressed my face, making a new warmth throughout my body, making me feel young again.
Suddenly the two bright lights started to shine brighter and brighter blinding me and suddenly I opened my eyes.
In a throne room that was mainly made out of beautifully old wood. Eight pillars held the building up and both had tales of the previous kings on them. A man in wealthy clothes sat on a throne and next to him was his Servant/friend.
"Sir, why did you bring a dying boy to the Palace?" The Servant said with a monotone voice like he didn't really care. The Servant was a man of taste, his clothes were a complete, butler outfit, he had the dress pants and suit and tie and not a single thing looked out of place for him.
Knowing his friend would say something the Legend said. "He needed to be healed." While the truth, it's not the complete truth.
Not believing his boss, the Servant said. "Again, why did you bring him to the palace?" The Servant knew the man far too well for a simple lie to go past undetected.
With a smile the Legend says. "The boy...he's like the Legend my father told me when I was a boy." While the man was matured and had a grasp on reality, the stories his father told him never really seemed that far fetched, well most now.
"So all this trouble to meet him?" The Servant said.
With a shake of his head the Legend says. "No I don't care who he is, I care what he's going to do. His action from here on will change the very state of the World. I want to be there to help guide him." He wanted to help this Hero, but Heroes must prove themselves.
"You want to use him." The Servant said, a little surprised, his boss was an honor bound man and would almost never use someone to get something out of it unless it's for his people.
The Legend agreeing he says. "In a way, yes. While I want him to fight for the true side, I want to test him to see his capabilities."
"You have something in mind?" The Servant asked.
"Yes, I already prepared it." The legend said, smiling confidently.
"Is that why you were talking to Eorlund Gray-Mane?" The Servant asked.
"Yes I plan to have hi….." The legend was about to finish, but was interrupted by loud banging from one of the side doors that lead to guest rooms.
Day 85 of 720 Before Earth's Death
With another bang a shirtless man with bandages wrapped around his torso and parts of his body bursts through the door and walks out with a frightened man in hand. The man on the throne immediately recognized the frightened man. He was the one to watch the two new guests, but it seems they didn't need to be watched.
The Servant wanting to be snarky says. "It seems he's here sir."
"Yes I can tell," The Legend said, smiling a bit from his Servant's words.
"Where am I?" I say a little angry. That guy I was halling along tried to stop me from leaving so instead of hurting him I just took him with me, guess I don't need him anymore. I look at the guy and quietly say. "My bad, sorry about that." What, I was looking for the boss of the place.
With a smile the man on the throne says with a booming voice. "You're in Dragonsreach, the Heart of Whiterun!"
"The Palace, you healed me up?" I said a little surprised, but then again I shouldn't. I touch my new big wound and I feel it is a bit tender, so it healed, but is still sensitive, that's good enough so I can travel I think.
"No, my healer did." The guy on the throne said. Wait Whiterun, Dragonsreach, is this guy Jarl Ballgruff.
Immediately I say with complete gratitude. "Thank you for saving me and my friend uhhh...what do I call you?" Hey at least this time I asked before I finished the conversation.
With a booming voice he says. "You can call me Dovahkiin and Your thanks is not necessary so why were you and Qrow on Mount Helios? It's very dangerous." H...he….he's the Dragonborn, holy shit he's the character that we play in Skyrim. So he's the ruler of Whiterun, goddamn right I would have taken over too.
Also he knows about Qrow, but then again Qrow's a famous Huntsman. I assume he has some form of identification, yes I did my research on him.
There really isn't any reason to be secretive about it. "We went up the Mount to make a weapon. Where is it?" I said noticing it wasn't around, shit I just got it.
"I have no idea what you're saying." Dovahkiin said like a child who's been caught in a lie, either he's fucking with me or he's a really bad liar, like worse than me.
Then I think back before I passed out. Dovahkiin was there, he's the one who saved me, he has it. "I know you saw me fighting with it. I saw you before passing out, again where is it and so help me I'll destroy so much to get it back." I say completely willing to go through with it. In a second I did an Aura pulse and I found it, it was with Dovahkiin.
Dovahkiing noticed the sudden release of Aura and figured the kid knows now. "No need to get angry. I kept it safe for you, here." He said, pulling the Sword in my sheath out and tossing it to me.
I catch it and immediately just to make sure I draw the Sword a bit and see the crude horribly made blade, yup it's mine. I sheath it and hold it until I get my clothes back. "Thank you ... So is my partner ready to travel?" I said because I need to go get the one old guy from Kakariko and get him to redo the Sword because this Sword is shittly made.
"Yes he recovered quickly, the truth is you were the most injured one." Dovahkiin said. What, how, last I checked Qrow was cut open worse than me and from the feeling of it I got stitched up 2 days ago, weird maybe while I was fighting the hordes of Grimm I was accidentally healing Qrow with my healing Dust. That does make the most sense.
"I see so I'll be leaving now." I said because there's no reason to stay here.
"Ryuu, your weapon doesn't seem to be in good condition. Why is that?" Dovahkiin said in a weird way.
"...I did it myself." I said not knowing where he was going with this. Also the fucker knows who I am
"I see, so will you go back to redo it again." He said with a smile like he just got me in a trap. I already don't like this.
"Yes." I said thinking of all the outcomes that could happen.
"Why, the outcome will only be the same." He said.
"What are you getting at?" I said annoyed that he didn't just get to the point.
"A deal." He said with a booming voice. You got to be fucking kidding me.
Annoyed, but still able to reason I say. "Great another fucking deal. What is it?" This better be good or I'm straight up leaving.
With a gesture he pointed at a man walking out of a doorway. "My friend here will reforge that blade." The man was Eorlund.
Angry I say. "Eorlund, now you decide I'm worth your time." So I got him to make me a new Sword, but at what cost.
"You are now that you're actually useful." He said smugly. If I can, I will punch him in the face.
I look back to Dovahkiin to just know what I have to do, if it's something stupid I'll just say no. Getting the message Dovahkiin says. "Your end of the deal is a mission of sorts."
"So this mission is for a reforge." I say getting annoyed, seriously I was just in a big fight that I almost lost my life in. I would like at least a week before I go and almost get myself killed again.
A newly recruit fresh out of the training camp ran up to me with a clipboard and said nervously. "Sir, we'll be at the Gulag soon."
The time has come and I say with pre planned wording. "Good, get the search and rescue ready. Have the Assault team be the spear of the attack and have them protect the rescue and behind them after they get our brethren out of there the search and destroy squad will bring down hell on the infernal place." While the plan may be simple, the execution is what really matters.
"Yes sir." The private says. I looked at his sleeve that had an encoded message and it said Kyle, we used this to know our names without having the whole World know.
Looking at the private I instantly knew why he joined up for the White Fang, it's for pay back. "Do you think what we're doing is right?" I say wanting to see if he's here to just kill like a mindless monster or a person to use said anger to help his people.
"I don't know sir, I just follow orders." He said nervously.
So he will follow anything a commanding officer will say, that's not any better than a mindless monster. "Listen private while following orders is the easy path, do what you feel is the right choice, don't let people persuade you just because their above you." I say to get my point across, while the organization's purpose is to have equal rights it doesn't mean every single Soldier should listen to their superior officers like their words of the gospel of the twin gods.
"Thank you for your advice sir." The private says it confuses, but doesn't question why I said it.
"Hopefully it sticks now go and prepare yourself mentally." I say while the private left to the rest of my small army because even hurting another living thing without preparing yourself will have major consequences and we are not hurting people, no we'll be killing over dozens even hundreds of innocent people.
Why do we have to come to this, to kill so much to get what we deserve.
As I get up from my dream or nightmare I see someone in a chair next to me. I look at them and I see Andres. He was sitting, not moving or making a sound while looking at me. Why does he gotta be so quiet sometimes?
I grab my blanket and roll it down to my waist and not a inch lower so I didn't give a child a show. I checked my wound, Jesus this was by far the worst I've gotten. It was a horizontal slash on my right stomach section, the wound was a foot long and looked deep. I would have died by my guts spilling out, guess Andres really put the effort into saving me. Heh I get to live another day, a toast later for another successful mission.
As I mentally celebrated my survival I had multiple flashes of images of my past, a past I want to forget and remember dearly.
"So how you feeling Qrow." I say to check up on him just in case he was in pain or something. I could do what Clover did to me when I was feeling the effects of the Healing Dust.
"Like I almost died." He said in a groggy voice. He's all rainbows and sunshine isn't he.
Wanting to lighten the mood, I said. "Crabby old guy. So you were talking in your sleep, you having a wet dream?" Yeah he was saying two names, now that I think about it, it's really gross.
"...What did I say?" He said, getting a little nervous. Uhh he better not be…..no he wouldn't he doesn't seem like that type of guy.
I say curiously and leave my previous assumption behind. "Summer and Ruby. Is Summer that girlfri…."
Before I could finish he interrupted me and said. "Ki…..Andres forget you heard that ok." He sounded somber and like the life was taken out of him.
"Why?" I said because partly out of curiosity and partly wanting to help him.
"Because I said so." He said annoyed.
"Hey man it's not your fault, so don't blame yourself." I said guessing. He always seems as if he has the weight of the World on him, maybe it is.
"But it is, I'm the one to blame for everything, the reason they came for us was because of my Semblance, all the misfortunes of my life was because of my fucking curse!" He yelled Angrily as a tear rolled down his face. He was in pain that one of so few people felt and he decided to take the blame for it all.
Well I have been assuming his Semblance because ever since he came around there've been more Grimm attacks, more just dangerous things and multiple times I've fallen over mistakenly. "So it's Misfortune, is that why you blame yourself for her death?" I want to help him out, while yes he is Ozpin's puppet he is still human no matter how much more stronger he is then me and how much strings Ozpin has on him. He's human and in every person's life they need help or just someone to be there for them.
His anger wasn't directed at me or anyone else, but himself. His self loathing. "Of course, if I never met her, if she never got attached to me she would be alive and with…her daughter." He said angrily and he sounded like something he's been bottling up for years. He said Ruby's name and Summer's. If I'm right that means Summer might be Ruby's mom and Qrow blames himself for her death, it's starting to make sense.
"Qrow you can't just blame yourself because of your Semblance." I say because if Qrow blames his Semblance that means he used it once incorrectly and got her killed or it does not deactivate which seems the most logical. I would get it if it was the latter because everything that bad happens around you. you have to think about that it happened because of you, an incredibly heavy burden to carry.
"It is the truth. My Semblance is the reason for all the bad shit in my life and everyone's lives around me." He said, sounding as if he was about to start crying, he has a massive weight put onto himself, maybe that's why he drinks and always looks disheveled.
The more I think about it I'm like Qrow he drinks to forget about what he "causes" And his past. I drink to forget about what I have done and what trauma I've been afflicted with. We do it to forget and savor a little bit of time. We don't blame ourselves because we don't remember.
Well while I do want to help him I had to shatter that bullshit perspective about how shit happens because of him. Getting angry by his horrible viewpoint of his own little bubble I say with full emotion behind it. "Qrow don't be so self centered. Shit happens even when you're not around and don't blame yourself for the encounter with Tyrian and Hazel they were coming for me way before you came around…..What I'm trying to say is don't put all the blame on you, it's not fair to yourself." Ok either he's going to shut me out or he might actually listen, or the third option he kills me.
"..." He didn't speak, he just stared at his blanket in thought.
"I have no knowledge of what happened or right to say anything, but you can't just blame yourself." I said not knowing the circumstances of what happened.
"Easy for you to say." He said annoyed at my lecturing and my imposing of my ideals on him.
"It is, because I know every event that happened wasn't because of my bad luck, but was because of someone initiating a plan while I was conveniently around because bad shit just happens naturally, all you can do is pray for your loved ones to be alright." I say because yes I am a massive bad luck charm, but I'm sure it's not all me, no I just happen to be at some places conveniently.
Qrow was done, he had enough of this conversation and said. "Fine, fine enough with the emotion talk, so what's new what happened after I passed out." While he did somewhat appreciate what Andres was trying to tell him it won't work, he was far too deep in the darkness.
"Well after you got knocked the fuck out, I almost killed Hazel by cutting through his spine and I Electrocuted Tyrian to death." I said a little proud, god what have I become. I'm proud I killed a guy and almost killed another, while it's justified it still feels wrong.
"Is Hazel dead?" Qrow said hoping for a yes.
"No he ran away with Tyrian's corpse. Don't worry Hazel will die from blood loss from that wound I gave him, it was extreme." I said confidently because no one could survive with that big of a wound for more than 10 minutes without some serious medical help.
"Andres do you really believe that?" He said with an eyebrow up.
Oh shit forgot this is the World of bullshit, Hazel survived. Seriously universe why with the bullshit. "Fuck. Guess another problem to deal with in the future. Oh their one last thing." I said just annoyed, but it doesn't matter. I almost beat him without my Dragon Sword and now I'm going to be stronger and have better equipment so he is not going to be as big of a problem.
"What?" He said interested.
"Salem, she came, well kinda." I said nonchalantly.
Qrows smug look collapsed in an instant the second he heard Salem's name. "WH...what happened?" He said as if he was about to have a mini freak out.
"Well she came and talked from a Grimm and after I cut off the introduction she made a fuck ton of Grimm come for me." I said, giving him the guts of the situation. Salem really didn't give me any information except she's a bitch.
He calmed down and didn't speak for a couple of seconds. "How long were you fighting before Dovahkiin saved us?" He said with a voice full of shame.
Is he, no it would only hurt him. "...That doesn't matte…" I said, but was interrupted by a slightly angry Qrow.
Qrow slammed his hand on a nightstand next to him and said with a little anger, but it wasn't directed at me. "Andres, I get your being humble, but I need to know how much I owe you."
No point in lying, he's willing to know the truth and I have no right to take that away. "For the entire night I was fighting, but you owe me nothing. I would do it again for nothing in return if it means you get to live. While you are an asshat, you are one of my only friends on this planet." I said, giving him a bit of reassurance. Qrow so far hasn't been that bad he acts like an asshole bit he means well.
Qrow had a face of surprise and slowly turned into a thin smile then into a cherry smile and said. "God what's with the cringe speech." This fuck is...you know what nevermind.
"Cringy, I was being open with my feeling you fuck, didn't know that was cringy." I said a little annoyed.
"So what's the plan?" Qrow said getting up a bit and wanting to know what's the next step.
Here's the moment of truth. "That's the part I need to get you up to date. Dovahkiin found us both almost dead and healed us up and now he made me a deal. If I complete a mission for him, Eorlund will redo the Sword for me." I said, giving him an incredibly brief summary.
"Hum, so what's this mission?" He said curiously.
With a shake of my head I say. "It's secretive you can't know or you'll be pulled into the legal shit of it and from what I know it's going to have a massive backlash." Yup it's probably going to attract that Winter bitch and Atlas.
Qrow frowned. "You're not taking me with you on this mission." Qrow said figuring it out.
"No I can't. This is how it's going to go. You're going with Eorlund up the Mountain tomorrow and I'm going on this mission in 3 days because I was more injured than you. You'll be with a couple of other Huntsmen so don't worry about another incident like Hazel and Tyrian." I said annoyed I'm having my personal bodyguard taken away, but it's life you can't always have your way.
"What about you?" He said a little concerned. Awe he cares.
"I'm going at it alone." I said giving him a straight answer, fuck beating around the bush never was my style.
"Seriously, we just survived an attack together and you believe you can take care of yourself." He said annoyed at my idiocy.
"Maybe, listen, the reason I want you going with Eorlund is because I want someone I can trust just in case he tries to steal it or something." I said because I'm way too paranoid mostly with the thing that is going to help me save my World. Some of those people already know of its tremendous power and power can corrupt the foolish. Even when I say I trust Qrow I only trust him so much, our alliance can snap at a drop of a coin.
Yeah that actually saddens me.
"God dammit, it's like when I'm with you my bad luck meter overloads." He says annoyed, he may be annoyed, but I had it way worse who do you think fought all the Grimm that appeared and how many holes I fell into.
"That just shows how unlucky I am most of the time. So you got some good stories to tell because we're confined to healing for the next day." I say I want at least a few hours before I go train for the rest of the day.
"I got a lot of embarrassing stories about Ruby and Yang." He said with a mischievous smirk.
"I'm all about it." I said getting a bit of dirt on them if I ever met them again. How I miss just semi-normal conversations.
Day 88 of 720 Before Earths Death
After the three days I get ready to get on my mission. While I was hospitalized I sewed up my shirt with the massive hole where Tyrian left me a big brand new scar, it was pretty big the bad part was that it actually went all the way through, but on my stomach it was just a complete line, but on my back was just two line separate in the middle that had no scar tissue. Tyrian's weapons were like Chief Bandit Bitch second in command bitch, god I hate those weapons now.
So I learned new moves draining someone's Dust is a cool new technique that is so useful and Aura Vision is incredibly useful because I can literally detect life and I feel soon instead of just knowing that Aura is there I'll get to see it more clearly. What's even cooler is since me absorbing Hazels lighting Dust. It turns out I can have two different types of Dust in me at once, which can make fights way more easier if I can master that, but right now it has some big limitations.
While I was at the monastery they taught me to not do this because the two Dust would collide in my body and they'd activate while inside, yeah that doesn't sound great because what's bad things going to happen when you put two volatile substances in the same system. God I'm going to kill myself with this stuff. God I feel Gyatso yelling at me already.
Since because we didn't have much to do me and Qrow talked for hours, I forgot to train that day because we were debating about if a death snail could catch up to you if you were going about our normal lives, still no victor, but I know I'll win.
Qrow and I are all good now because of the healing Dust. It's just a bit uncomfortable around the waist area, but it's fine I can still fight. So the mission.
I went to a parking garage that Dovahkiin wanted me to go here to start said mission, like as if it was a trap. I saw a man with a black suit and black sunglasses like how a FBI agent is in a black SUV. If this was 3 months in the past I would be shitting my pants, but I feel calm, too calm. I got in and checked my equipment.
We drove out of Whiterun and we went to the outskirts of it. We passed farms, homes and patrolling Huntsmen until there was nothing around, but barren landscape. Nobody dared to live more than a mile away from the city because of Grimm. As we drove for an hour we got to a road that said SDC property up ahead. The man instead of going on the man made road he went into the forestry to the left he kept going until he stopped and dropped me off in the middle of the woods.
I got out and he left in an instant. I knew why Whiterun couldn't be implicated with this event. So the mission Dovahkiin wants me to do. It's going to be tough. I turned around and barely visible through some trees is a settlement that looked….let's say cheap. So this is a SDC mining facility that uses pretty much Faunus Slaves.
I'm supposed to save the Slaves somehow. Turns out that Whiterun's people fucking hate having Atlas next over with a mining facility that uses Faunus Slavery/Labour and they have to supply them, their advocates of Faunus and Human equality, but they can't get involved or the Valean Council could use their power to remove Dovahkiin from power and choose a person of their liking to run Whiterun, which if you don't know is a terrible situation.
I ready myself and my weapons and Dust replenished, I can't go use guns blazing here. I need to scout then I make a plan to get them out.
So after my side of the mission is done. Ideally the Slaves will run out of the camp toward Whiterun where a planted group of Huntsmen are waiting to pick them up and escort them to Whiterun. Because of political nonsense which I hate, once refugees enter a Valean city The City will decide how it's going to help the refugees, that means the contracts that are keeping the Faunus in the SDC are voided and the SDC has no power over them anymore, it really seems to good to be true, but I do believe there are good people out their. Guess that's why Eorlund was angry a couple days ago with Winter about Atlas. For the rest of the night I scout out the joint.
In the middle of the woods multiple bullheads were parked and at least a hundred people were in a massive group with their attention on a man on top of one of the bullheads. "Brother and Sister listen today will be another great day. More of our people will be freed, but before that could happen we need to do what we signed up for. Tonight we invade the SDC Facility now get ready to fight." The Lieutenant said hyping his family up so they don't die because of some stupid reason, while some have Aura most don't.
Day 89 of 720 Before Earth's Death
So it's just past midnight and I got a couple of good bits of information. The camp is pretty small. It's a camp with a big metal wall around it and at the back was a Mountain which gave it a natural defense like Silverkeep and the entrance was what the road led to.
So everybody that are workers are asleep right now and their barracks are to the left of the camp, the mines were at the back end where a tunnel leads into the Mountain and the middle was a building that seems like a place where they take the Dust after they mined it and to the right was the office building. That's all good, but the problem is all the guards, watchtowers, turrets, and sensor fields.
I counted and theirs 43 of them and most are heavily armed which is really weird for a work camp, 8 watchtowers, 3 sensor fields around the outside of the camp and turrets all around the wall surrounding the camp. So let's just say it's a fucking fortress.
I made two plans one is stuipd and the other is stupid stupid. Plan 1 is make a ruckus and free the Slaves through force, stupid I know and plan 2 is go up into the facility out in the open because I'm not a criminal so they won't shoot me on sight and I somehow convince the people that a massive horde of Grimm are coming their way and they should evacuate.
…...What, did you expect me to somehow make a plan that was so amazing that it shook the very foundation of reality, no I'm common sense smart, not smart smart.
Plan 1 is just dumb because I'm good, but not taking down a fucking solidly fortifed fortress good….so Plan 2.
I checked my shit and stretched just in case of a fight, I really don't want a cramp in the middle of a fight. I got up and got back to the side where the entrance was so they could see me clearly so they just don't fire. Oh god I'm so going to get shot, but hey I know for a fact that this will go down in a fight. I just know the universe just loves fucking with me, so I learn to expect it.
Finally after a day of rest me and a group of Huntsmen and Eorlund start going up Mount Helios again to reforge the Sword that Andres needs.
I'm carrying the blade because of Andres paranoia and let me tell you it looks like a dog took a shit, but was somehow held together in a straight line, but for some reason it looked….powerful like, I need i...what I'm saying this thing could barely cut butter. Hope Andres doesn't do anything stupid to get himself killed. What am I kidding the kid being killed, that can't happen. He's been through way worse since I met him.
He took on the Branwen tribe that are ruthless and took on two of Salem's top henchmen, with my half help of course and that was after I met him. He's done some crazy stuff and every time he's pulled through. He will live. I know it.
A man with a white and blue armor on stood at the entrance of the SDC mining facility. It was his turn for outdoor guard duty, as he would be doing he stood firm and still while observing the outside for any signs of criminals. As he looked down to his rifle for the sake of boredom he heard footsteps.
He looked up aiming his weapon and said. "Stop right there, come any further and you will be shot!" He looked out into the darkness and saw a figure come out at walking speed with it's hands above its head.
I walk out in front of him and say nonchalantly. "Bit much man, I just came to alert the commanding officer of this place that a massive Grimm horde is coming this way." Ok let's hope I can at least fool this guy so I can get in.
"Which way are they coming?" He said, still aiming his weapon at me. Seriously, is this guy that paranoid?
Know if I say where this supposive Grimm horde is coming he wouldn't let me in so I say. "Not for your ears yet. I need to directly talk to the commanding officer of this place." Come on luck be on my side.
He slowly lowered his weapon and said. "Are you a Huntsmen?" Yes, that's what I'm talking about.
"Yes I am." I said quickly so he doesn't see my white lie.
He smiled and nodded and said. "Good come on in and don't criticize anything or the Boss will get angry, Huntsmen or not." Don't criticize what does that mean.
He turns around and presses his thumb against a blue screen next to the metal doors and it flashes green, then the gate opened up. We both walk into the place as the entrance door closes.
Curious, I say. "So why with the hostile alert?" Because seriously he could have started shooting me if I didn't have my hands up.
He quickly apologized and said in a professional voice. "Its protocol the White Fang have been at large lately and they seem to be attacking SDC owned property. We have to stay alert or they could sneak up on us." White Fang a bunch of psychos. Yeah Clover told me all about the White Fang and about Faunus discrimination, but I haven't seen a single bit of it
If you can't tell I don't have much compasion for the White Fang or Faunus so called discrimination, but that doesn't mean that I'm closed minded, but can you blame me. The fuckers tortured me and almost pretty much destroyed Kakariko. While I don't like them. This place let me tell you this is the place to really change my mind, this place is supposible the cold hard truth of racism, or specism, which one is it?
A little angry, I say. "Yeah I had my fair share of tussles with them." To get on the guy's good side. I look at him and see a name tag that says Kile
"Really, you kicked their ass." He said like an excited little boy that just heard about a juice rumor in his tone. Either he's a racist or the White Fang did something to him.
"Not really it was the other way around. Their Leader Adam Taurus kicked mine." I said truthfully. As we got to an intersection in the road one going to the left, the middle, and right. To the left was the barracks for the Faunus "Slaves".
The building was made of wood, but it wasn't well kept at all. The wood was rotting and the paint on it was practically gone and it looked ready to collapse if someone shoved it. Looking over there a bit more I saw hole in the building and saw a couple of people with their clothes full of dirt, probably from the work they do all day.
Seeing the place I saw their equipment and the pickaxes were dull and rusty, I looked at the tunnel to the mines and I saw a minecart that was rusty and didn't look like it worked. The mine looked ready to collapse if it was even touched and if I listened a bit more to the barracks I could hear people moaning in pain and crying for a better life. Jesus Christ these people are being treated as bad as Slaves in America's Slavery period. Maybe these guys are Slaves.
The sight of it really made my heart hurt from it. I turned around and saw the office building where the humans worked and it looked practically pristen, it had white walls with a bit of blue and the windows looked freshly cleaned.
Atlas pricks I see why people advocate for Atlas getting out of Vale. "You fought Adam Taurus and lived, you're the real deal. Every other new Huntsmen always seems so arrogant that they think they can take the World, but Veterans know how it really is, this World has horrible beasts that you need help to defeat." He said a bit annoyed at the newer Huntsmen. Well I'm not a Huntsman so whatever, but I get what he's saying. Darn kids.
Getting a little disgusted by all of the actual discrina…. no Slavery of a race I say a bit angrily. "...So, why are there only Faunus working here anyway?" They better have a good reason because I already want to start this mission. While a couple minutes ago the Faunus didn't have my help, but now I see what's happening to them, they will get it even if they don't want it.
He grimaced a bit and said. "Oh, that's a touchy subject. You seem like a good guy so I'll tell you, just don't go telling the whole World." His expression turned into a bit of disgust.
"Why?" I said a little confused.
"Because they were kind of forced into it." He said. I knew people believe that, but there has to be a reason and it better not be because humans are better.
"Really, why would people let it keep happening." I said still confused. We got to the front of the building and entered. As I got in it was filled with people laying back and the room just looked clean and fancy. Seriously Atlas needs to tone down the fancy.
With a voice that had a bit of shame he said. "Because while people do say discrimination is horrible and they don't want it to happen, they still let it happen because they don't want their World they worked so hard for to collapse. So they have Faunus mine Dust that is needed. While other fuels are used Dust is mainly used and if the biggest Dust company goes down a lot of people will die. Mining it by hand is the best way to get it safely." So that's why, to keep the fuel of this World running. This is why, I understand now why they subjected the Faunus in this way.
The thing was I heard a bit of emotion in his voice so I say. "You sound like you don't like it either do you?" We entered an elevator to the top where the officer is.
As we get to the top he frowns and says. "No, but it's a necessary evil because if the World runs out of Dust we're doomed. We sacrifice the Few for the Many because no one else is willing to do it…..Here you are sir." He stopped next to a well made door.
What he said was stupid. So this World to live needs some people to sacrifice their lives to get Dust for us is stupid. That's the dumbest excuse you can give. These people are treated as Slaves and they say it's a necessary sacrifice, it's fucking pathetic.
"Thank you, hopefully you can find a profession somewhere else." I said knowing this guy doesn't want to be here.
I opened the door and walked in and inside was a desk at the back of the room and a couple of things like bookcases and desks. It looked fancy and behind the desk was a man who wore clothes that Winter wore, white with light blue and they looked clean as hell. He had a black ponytail and his face looked young and he had a mustache that looked bushy. "Hello who are you and why are you here at such an unprecedented hour, Huntsmen." The man said in an obviously annoyed voice.
Ok time to show off my lying skills, don't fail me now. "I'm here to warn you of an incoming Grimm horde." I said hoping he'd get fooled.
The man made a "Really" Face and said. "Really, why am I only hearing of it now?"
"I don't know, I'm just here to warn you. So what will you do?" I say playing dumb because realisticlly I wouldn't know.
"I'll prepare my men and I'll have our turrets ready to fight this so-called horde." He said annoyed as he was about to type on a computer.
"It won't be enough, the horde is massive." I said making the nonexistent problem even bigger.
"Really it won't…..I was being sarcastic. Nothing can beat Atlas Tech. This facility will be safe and thank you for your concern." He said arrogantly. Wow they really have their heads shoved up their asses.
"What happens when the Grimm get through, what will happen to the Faunus workers. Will you let them die to save yourselves." I said angrily, wanting to know.
What I'm doing right now is stupid because I'm in the center of the base and this man infront of me can use just one button and the whole base would be after me. So all I gotta do is knock him out at the opportune moment. If he says the wrong answer he gets knocked out in an instant.
"No, while they may be lesser people they still are useful they will be protected." He said like the Faunus were below him, not just racist they have a Superiority complex too. That was almost the wrong answer.
"Lesser people how?" I said wanting more information so I can view the Atlas more properly. Come on.
I'm baiting you, say the wrong thing so I feel better about knocking you out.
The officer got angry and said, "Why are you still here judging me? Leave, go back out there in the World and die like every single Huntsmen befor…." He was interrupted by an explosion outside. Ohhh this fuck is on my shit list now, see you at graduation asshole.
I look outside to find the source of the noise and see a massive hole on the side of the wall where the office buildings were. Though the hole dozens of people dressed in White Fang uniforms charged through as the alarm blared signaling the security there was a threat around. Fucking seriously why does this happen when I'm here, and it's the White Fang so their seriously going to have a grudge on me after this.
"What the bloody hell!" The officer said, enraged by the events.
So I'm going to play dumb so I don't have to go and fight the White Fang because that's a Huntsmens job and I'm supposibly a Huntsmen. "What's happening?" I said stupidly.
Flabbergasted by my idiocy he says. "The White Fang are attacking you blind idiot!" Wow straight to insults aren't you a stereotypical bad guy.
Now's my moment come on please agree with me, You fuck. "You need to evacuate the facility to Whiterun, they could protect you." Logically this is the best option, the White Fang are a fucking devious bunch their tactical, brutal, and are willing to use Grimm which I'm pretty sure their going to use after they get the Faunus Slaves out.
"Nonsense, what needs to be done is a Huntsmen that is standing in front of me needs to go do their job!" Uh oh guess the time is now to fight.
"..." I didn't respond. All I did was think of a plan.
"Where's your Huntsmen license boy because you seem a little young." He said suspiciously as his right hand went for a button under his desk.
Well I've never been good at lying. "I don't have one and if I did it would probably get revoked…." I say as I appeared next to him and grabbed his head and banged it on his table, he slumped over motionless. Guess that's all it takes to knock out a normal person or he's really horrible with Aura.
Fuck so what's the plan, the White Fang is attacking and the SDC probably won't liste…...no they would if I gave the the commanding officers orders, well that's if their stupid enough and I think they are.
Plan is the White Fang and a massive horde of Grimm is coming and they need to get out of dodge before the real trouble comes. The thing is I need some access to the base if I plan to be successful. I searched the officer I just knocked out and found a card that said level Alpha, boom jackpot. Just to know if they question I check the asshole's name and it's Porro.
Before I leave I message the Huntsmen waiting for the Slaves down the road with the scroll Dovahkiin secretly gave me, yup I got an extraterrestrial phone.
I run out of the room and go to the stairs because using the elevator right now is fucking stupid. I ran down all the floors to the bottom. As I get down there I see a White Fang member pointing a gun at the Secretary.
On instinct I summoned a single Thread and made it go to the gun and bundle itself behind the trigger so it won't fire if pulled. After the Thread was set I ran up to him and grabbed his head and picked him off the floor with one hand and slammed him on the floor. The impact created a small crack on the floor, this guy didn't have Aura why?
The guy didn't move so I checked his pulse and load and behold he had one. Good he's not dead. I look at the scared Secretary and say. "Tie him up with something and head for a safe location, do you know of one?" I said wanting to leave because I wanted to finish this up so I can fucking go back to Whiterun.
She nodded her head and with that I left to go outside. The second I left the building a bullet whizzed past me and another hit me. I backed up to the building I just left for cover. Ok so I'm pinned, but how many. I did an Aura pulse and I sensed 7 of them aiming in my direction and the guards opposing them.
I don't know who has Aura and who doesn't so let's find out. In my hand I summoned hundreds of Threads and sent them to the 7 White Fang Soldiers. The Soldiers saw this and tried to fire at the Thread, but it did nothing so instead some tried to run. I wrapped it around their necks and only two of them made my Thread disappear.
The other Auraless ones start to get choked out. They tried to force themselves out, but they couldn't so they slowly lost consciousness. Out of the 5 Auraless White Fang only 4 of them passed out and the final guy got saved by one of his friends accidentally touching the Thread with his Aura, more than half are out.
I jump out of cover and charge the final 3. One started to shoot, but I drawed my Longsword and blocked all of them. Damn, thanks Qrow for teaching me how to do this. I closed the distance and launched myself at the Auraless one knees first and crashed onto his chest, I felt his bones break under the pressure I applied, fuck hope he's not dead.
What, right now isn't a necessary time to just kill people right now I'm not in that much danger.
I stood in between the two Soldiers that had Aura and all I did was slash at the one to my right. He dodged and was about to attack, but I grabbed his face and brought my knee to his face making his Aura flare. I felt the guy behind me was going for a strike so I put the guy I was holding in front of the strike.
The attacker tried to stop, but couldn't and with a flash the guy's Aura was broken. In an instant I smashed the guy's head onto the floor hoping he'd get knocked out. The last guy pointed his gun at me, but with a single slash I cut the gun into two, holy shit is this how badass Zoro feels when he does this. The expression the final White Fang member had was full of fear as he backed up.
Let's finish this. I grabbed him by the back of the head with my left hand and with my right hand I held my Longsword. With force on both hands I sent them colliding into each other. The power of his head hitting my Longsword hilt destroyed his Aura, why are these guys Aura being destroyed so easily?
"Because their Aura isn't as strong as yours or the people you've faced. The stronger your Aura gets, the stronger your attacks and the less of it used when you're hit by an attack." Paarthurnax said, giving me some salt wisdom. Need to interrogate him later because he wasn't completely truthful.
That makes a lot of sense. Remembering the guys is still conscious I say with a tone of seriousness. "Why are the White Fang here?"
He coughed up some blood and said with a fearless voice filled with resolve. "Were here for our rights and…." He's going on a tangent.
I lift my hand and start summoning Threads and make them get really close to his eyes to scare him and I say. "Tell me or I turn you into my puppet."
"We're here to save the Faunus Slaves." He said losing his fearless ruse. Guess I was right they're here to save the Slaves, but I can't let that happen. I need to save the Slaves.
Well he's useless to me now. I smashed his face into the ground to knock him out because it seems like the most effective way to not kill someone and knock them out. I get up and see a couple of SDC Soldiers coming towards me.
A SDC Soldier said with a kinda high pitched voice, is this guy a kid must be new to this. "Huntsmen, their more of them are coming. What do we do? Where's Porro?" Good so they think I'm with them that will make things a lot easier.
The pussy, well he's taking a nap so I'll fill his shoes. "He gave me some orders, the White Fang are attacking and a massive horde of Grimm is coming this way. We're going to grab the Faunus workers, and the security and head towards Whiterun. I already messaged a group of Huntsmen and they're heading here from Whiterun, so get everybody that's injured or can't fight and go!" I said loudly so all the Soldiers around me heard.
As everybody was about to leave one Soldier said with disgust in his voice. "Let's leave the Faunus their dead weight." Seriously, is this place full of racists?
Getting angry I say. "No we take them, their people too now, go and tell the others." I said reinforce the image that I'm the one in charge, please be fooled.
I ran past them as they started to spread my orders and head towards the Faunus barracks. As I head over there I see a couple of corpses, some White Fangs and some SDC. This is all happening because the SDC is so greedy that it wants Slaves or workers that cost almost nothing and the White Fang instead of doing it the moral way they kill everyone in their way and justify it as it's for the revolution.
The thing is I do see where the White Fang are coming from, but they way their doing things is just wrong. As I kicked a White Fang member on the back of the head hopefully knocking her out. I saw a couple of the Faunus outside the barracks and they had faces of hope, some even started crying in joy.
So they see White Fang as saviors, I see why, they're freeing them, but I can't let that happen. Not only because of the deal, but because if they go with the White Fang they'll join up and that will only fuel the flames of violence.
Around the Faunus Slaves were a dozen Soldiers defending them, most of them were incover because a White Fang Soldier had a full on minigun.
Dammit to get the Faunus Slaves out of here I need to defeat the White Fang to get them outta here. I did an Aura pulse and felt 15 White Fang Soldiers. I grabbed my Dust capacitor and set it on 2, water Dust and swallowed the cube down. The Dusts power flowed into me and I summoned hundreds of my water Threads and sent them towards the White Fang, while I kinda want to fight to get a little bit more experience in combat I didn't because right now people's lives are at stake, even if most I don't care about them so I take the easy road.
The White Fang Soldier too focused on the battle between the grunts failed to see the Thread coming for them. In an instant it was upon all of them, I made the Threads go through under the shirt and went up to their throats and wrapped them around it and another portion went into their throats.
All of them stopped fighting and started to freak out that they just started drowning suddenly, suddenly drowning out of nowhere would make anybody freak out. The one with the minigun was still holding the trigger as he flailed around to get free and accidentally shot two of his allies. One by one Soldier after Soldier fell, after a minute most went down, but one stood strong and actually got rid of the water Thread and spat out the water inside him.
He coughed harshly as water dripped from his mouth, this guy has a strong will. I ran up to him and he tried to react, but I was already within kicking distance. With a heave I lift my right leg above him and with a massive amount of force downward I slam the top of his head down into the floor. There goes another one.
As I was about to head towards the SDC to give my orders something grabbed my leg. I looked down and saw the guy I just axed kicked grabbed me with blood flowing out of his face, he said. "I won't give up. I never will, I will save my people even if I need to kill you!" This guy doesn't want to kill me, but if I get in his way he will do what's necessary, he's like me.
"Why kill, you could do it other ways." I said angrily for some unknown reason.
He started crying and said, "We've tried, but you always stop us, your unfair systems and the boughten judges. We can't ever break from the chains your species put on us until we save all of our people."
"Corruption." I said and it was all I needed to know. Corruption, the reason life fucks over everyday people, the reason people are charged with crimes they didn't commit and make laws that make some people lives a living hell.
Knowing if I talked to him more I might have started to help the White Fang on their mission to save their people. So I kicked him in the head and like that he out like a light. So they tried the legal way, but it seems some people want to keep them down.
While I want to just know why this battle is happening I still have a mission. I ran to the Soldiers and in a second they raised their guns at me immediately. Oh fuck and I say. "Friendly, I'm friendly, I got orders from Porro!" Please don't shoot.
One of the SDC Soldiers came out from behind cover. Looked like every other, but he was much bigger and his nametag said, Farquath. He said. "Finally the useless fuck got an order, what is it." So the other people don't respect Porro either.
"He said to get the Faunus Slaves and workers to Whiterun I already got Huntsmen coming this way to help escort the ones who can't fight." I said making the plan go as smoothly as possible.
Farquath confusedly said. "Porro said that, that sounds nothing like him."
I can't have him questioning so I say. "I don't care if it sounds like him. Round up the Faunus and workers and get them to Whiterun so we can take on the White Fang without being shackled down to babysitting." Let me tell you, protecting someone from an enemy is one of the hardest things.
He had an angry expression, but he nodded and said. "Fine, Men get the Faunus to Whiterun, one half will escort and the other to keep the White Fang here so they don't slaughter us out there in the dark." That's a good plan.
I look around and see a bunch of Faunus looking around and their tears of joy turned into despair that their freedom was being taken away, really they were about to be free.
I did an Aura pulse. I saw a massive amount of Faunus moving and cooperating with the SDC Soldiers, but two Faunus ran for the hills. Dammit, immediately I summoned hundreds of Threads to grab them. As I was going for them a SDC Soldier saw them running and aimed his rifle.
I saw this and summoned another dozens of Threads to stop him, but it was too late. Three rounds were fired and only two of the three stopped by my Thread. I gave the Soldier an angry look and he looked like he saw the devil.
I ran towards the Faunus and saw a crying child over the adult that had a bullet wound in his side, dammit he's bleeding out. Why did they run, the dumb fucks.
I grabbed the kid to get him out of the way as I was about to pull the bullet out and stop the bleeding. The kid tackled me and screamed. "Leave my daddy alone, he just wants to leave, we want to be with Mommy."
Why the fuck is their a kid here, don't tell me they have child Slaves. The blood in my body started to boil to a point I haven't felt in a really long time. The thought of someone forcing a child to be here made me want to just turn on the SDC and kill them, but I can't, not yet.
Knowing the kid won't let up, I say. "Kid you'll get to be with your mommy, but you have to follow the others. they won't care if you're a child they'll shoot you." The Soldier that fired almost killed a kid, I want to bash his head in.
"What about my daddy!" The kid screamed.
With a kind smile to try to calm the kid down I say. "Don't worry I'll save him and when you get to Whiterun I'll save everyone too." This place needs to go along with all the others like it, maybe later I'll destroy the SDC for doing this. Sorry Nicholas, your legacy has been tainted too much to be repaired.
He started crying as I made my water Thread flow into the man's bullet wound and start digging into him to get the bullet out. He didn't like it. He started to move erratically as I grabbed the bullet and I pulled it out. immediately I grabbed my mini first aid and hit him with disinfectant and started to stitch him up fast. The man looked at me furiously, but he didn't speak, no he couldn't.
His neck had a massive scar that looked like someone cut his throat.
Is this it...is this the reason Clover joined the White Fang. I see now the amount of just horrid things that are done to them.
These eyes they spoke of rage and killing intent, but he can't have that now, all he needs to do is last a couple of hours and he's free. "Once you get to Whiterun you'll be free, but you have to work with me." He didn't flinch or get angrier, he just stared with fury.
Not caring if he hated me with his soul I threw him over my shoulder and carried him back to the other and told the Soldier that shot him to take him with the rest. The guy gave me a look that said what are you doing. With one look and a single word the man does what I told him. He lugged the Faunus and the kid was behind him as they ran down the road where I'd guess hundreds of Faunus Slaves ran unknowingly to freedom.
"Why did you do that for a single Faunus?" I hear someone say behind me.
I turn around and see Farquath with an angry look. "Because he's a person too. Listen, the White Fang has more force than I thought to tell your men when the Huntsmen get the people out of the way make them come back. We need everyone to win this battle." I already don't like this massive fuck.
"I don't like taking orders from a kid." He said like he was about to pop a vein. Either this guy has a superiority complex or doesn't have enough confidence to take orders from someone younger, he reminds me of someone.
Annoyed by the whiny baby I say. "I don't care. I'll hold off the White Fang for a bit so you guys won't be shot at from behind when you're doing that, but come back before I get killed." With that I left him and headed to the barracks, it's the place the White Fangs are going to free the Slaves, well if they were still there.
I jumped over a house and saw a Dragon grimm masked Soldier standing perfectly still. His trench coat blowing in the wind as he just stares at me like he's been expecting me. I landed in front of him and without hesitation I tried to kick him, but he just caught it without even trying. I forced myself out of his grip and backed up and came up with a plan.
As he stood there completely relaxed. Again, but with a plan I ran at him with my Longsword and slashed at his feet. He jumped to not get hit, as he was in the air a dozen Threads came out of the ground going for him. As if he was Neo spinned in the middle of the air and slashed at the Thread coming at him, how the fuck did he do that. As the man was looking at the ground where the Thread came out of, he didn't notice two daggers coming straight at him from behind.
Getting hit hard in the back he gets sent flying down. With that opportunity I ran up and tried to get the K.O on him with a good kick in the face. As he got to the right altitude I kicked. Instead of getting hit he reached out and grabbed my leg and pulled himself closer to me. He dodged the kick and got a good footing on the ground and threw me. I go sailing into the already destroyed barracks.
Dammit he's strong. I get back up and get out of the rubble. I looked around for him, but he was nowhere to be found. I was about to look around for him, but remembered I still have to keep the SDC covered. Shit he was strong. He better not come back at the wrong moment.
I went back to the entrance and saw a White Fang Soldier try to catch up to the escaping Slaves, but I caught him with my water Thread and choked him out to unconsciousness.
As I kept the line more White Fang came looking for the Slaves, but I kept them at bay. Soldier after Soldier came at me guns blazing and without a plan. Over the course of the fights I lost 38% of my Aura by mostly bullets I didn't block and I felt it was far from over. I turn around and see a massive SDC force coming, finally I'm kinda getting tired.
Guess they completed their mission aka my mission, boom sometimes things just go my way. I could just leave now because really I have no side I actually want to help, but even if these guys are racists they don't deserve to die because of it. Uhhh why do I have to be the Hero, when the gods are defeated I'm so gonna become a selfish bastard…..well we'll see about that.
As they came we started to take the territory back slowly and we started to take down the White Fang. Their forces were big and strong, but they didn't have the tech the SDC had so over the course of an hour the fighting was finished. Only a couple of White Fangs were conscious and were being hunted, their attack failed and the SDC won. The weird part is that there were no other Huntsmen around like they didn't hire one to protect the place, either they don't want the job to protect the Slave holder or the SDC didn't want to pay extra for this place, I believe the latter.
With everything said and done I met up with the rest of the Soldiers and I heard Farquath yell. "Men we've won, let's reap what we deserve." He said as he grabbed an unconscious woman, she was a White Fang Soldier. He grabbed her face and whispered. "You'll do for now." He had a look of lust. You've got to be kidding me!
"What are you doing?" I said, grabbing his arms to stop him. This pathetic fuck he was about to rape this person because he won the battle, disgusting.
He says with an expression of fury. "Pay back, they killed some of my friends and their Faunus, not human, not worth anything!" I looked around and saw some of them smiling like psychos, they started to show their true colors. Dammit, Dammit I helped these guys, I helped them rape people.
I was about to argue against them, but I heard a gunshot behind me and I turned around to see a SDC Soldier with a handgun smoking with a White Fang under him with an exploded head.
Immediately I yelled. "Stopppp! Their unconscious and unarmed their no longer a threat!" No, no how, why would they do this. This World has laws that should sto….no I don't know the laws and I don't know the morality of this World. It's unknown to me.
Farquath shoved me away from him and said. "Are you trying to take away our revenge?" This is revenge, to rape and kill the unarmed. This pathetic bitch.
Again I was about to argue and try to convince them to stop. All I heard was someone say Porro. Immediately with fear I turned and saw a swollen faced man, blood running down his broken nose. He looked around and spotted me. I dug through my pocket and grabbed my Dust capacitor and set it on 8, hardlight and put it away silently so they don't know.
He pointed at me and yelled alerting the Soldiers. "You, you imposter! Men arrest this faker he's not a Huntsmen he infiltrated the base I suspect he's from the White Fang!" This is it the worst case scenario. Now I have to fight the SDC while I'm tired.
Farquath looked at me with pure unadulterated rage and said. "Imposter, you lied to us." I can't wait to kil...kick their ass.
I breathed in deeply to calm my nervousness and with a yell to the heavens that made all the Soldiers cover their ears so it won't hurt, I boom. "All of you are killers, you kill because you like it or because you're taking orders to keep your Slaves in check! That ends now! I'll free all the Slaves, they deserve freedom like everyone else!" While I yelled I was preparing for my plan.
Porro with a face of disgust says. "Disgusting, a Faunus sympathiser men do what you like to him, kill him if you pleas…" He was stopped by a whip of Thread wrapping around his throat constricting his airway.
While everyone was talking I started to prepare for this. I used my hard light Dust Thread to go underground and go to every single Soldier and wait to be used. The Threads wrapped around every Soldier's necks 26 of them and started to choke them out. I knew this wouldn't hold them for long, but I didn't need a long time to take care of this problem.
I took a deep breath and dug deep within myself to grab my power, my resolve and brought it forth. I opened my eyes and I saw the air around me turn a dark red, some of the people had fear in their eyes as they watched me. Slowly a Thread weaved armor covered my body and hid my face, like that was gonna do anything.
In a flash I disappeared from most of their trained eyes and I appeared next to a trapped SDC Soldier and knocked him out with a single strike. They saw this and tried to escape my prison, but some couldn't even move by the fear they had for the person who wielded so much power in front of them. Few escaped with short breaths and most fell unconscious from the lack of oxygen to their brain, they were let go so they wouldn't die.
Porro got out of the restraint and as he was about to command his Soldiers I appeared in front of him and grabbed him by the face and punched him with my other hand with a huge windup. His Aura flared with intensity and again I punched, breaking his Aura. He fell down back first into the dirt with a stupid face. Knocked out again, pathetic.
I turned my attention to the Soldiers. There were 10 Soldiers still standing, most were weakened by the fighting earlier and tired, but some still had a lot of fight in them. I summoned more of my anger and charged them before they could make an effective plan. I grabbed the weakest looking one and held him up by the neck and used him as a shield.
I used an Aura arc with my Longsword on the other Soldiers. They didn't shoot because of friendly fire and with this advantage I closed the distance and kept the pressure up, the Soldier in my grasp tried to pry himself off, but didn't have the strength. All the Soldiers resorted to their melee weapons and attacked, but everything they went in for a strike I used my human shield as leverage. Quickly turned the 10 into a 4 and my human shield looked on the brink of death so I laid him down and kept the fight up, while normally I would kill these assholes, but because they on the "Right" Side of the law there would be more investigation on this event and let me tell you I'm no super spy and I'll get caught easily and that's bad for my overall goal.
One of the Soldiers came at me and attacked me low and I jumped to dodge, but another Soldier came at me from behind to get me. I was hit in the back, I didn't feel the pain of his strike, but I know he took a couple of percent of my fragile Aura.
I summoned my Thread, but instead of going for their throats or bodies I went for their hands. I warped their hands together making them go off balance very easily if they attacked. They tried to force themselves out, but to no avail. With this opportunity I with three Aura filled Aura strikes I destroy three of the Soldiers Auras knocking them out with single strikes, fuck are these guys really tired or weak.
I didn't notice that the final one was the asshole Farquath that was going against my word the whole time, well not really, but he was a complainer.
The thing was he looked more pissed than tired or hurt. With an explosion he got out of his restraints, how he didn't look like he had an explosive in hand earlier. I charged him, but he crouched and punched the floor, but nothing happened. As I got to him he backed up a bit and an explosion hit me from the floor, did he plant an explosive.
Getting knocked into the air he jumped up and grabbed me and started to punch me in the face, but for some reason I felt a heat raise on my face and my head was forced back by an explosion, he can make an explosion with whatever he touches is that a Semblance or Dust. As I drop back down to the floor he comes to grab me again, but I use my Thread to hold his hand in place so it doesn't touch anything. I backed up and used an Aura arc.
He blocked with his forearms, but he lost sight of me when defending. In a second I was behind him and I jumped over him while flipping to increase my momentum and kicked him in the back of the head, from the force of the strike he was launched into the ground face first. His Aura flared, me not wanting him to get away. I focus my Aura into the tip of my blade and shove my blade into his back keeping him down. His Aura flared intensely like it wanted to stay so bad, but ultimately shattered.
With him defeated the threats were over, but I wanted so bad to start shoving my blade through him. I unconsciously slowly lowered my blade until it started to dig into his back. He screamed in pain from the impromptu torture. Without rhyme or reason I want this man's blood. Maybe it's because of his arrogance or the way he treated Faunus, I didn't care, I wanted him dead.
As the blade started to really penetrate and blood started to leak out of him I remembered Raven's words. That I killed when I could knock them out, that I have a killer's instinct, that I like the killing, that I Was Just Like Her.
No I defy that bullshit, my instincts will never control how I am as a person, it never will.
I took my blade out of his back, but not delicately, he didn't deserve that.
It's done, the White Fang and the SDC are both defeated and I'm all that's left, well as far as I know. I check my Aura as I felt it was at 33%, damn is True Aura use a fuck ton of Aura. Well the Grimm horde was a lie, but the Grimm should be coming soon so I'll need to gather both of the forces and keep them safe until the authorities arrive, yes I do want to leave them both to die, but I can't. I still have a moral compass.
Slowly with 15 people at a time with my Thread I carried them over to the office building to give them a shelter. Over The next 10 minutes I filled the lobby and the back room. The lobby was filled with knocked out tied up SDC Soldiers and the back room was filled with knocked out tied up White Fang Soldiers, overall the White Fang had three times more Soldiers, but they still lost.
While the SDC are assholes I don't believe that all of them are the same, that Kile guy showed me they have a sense of self and they see the wrong in their company.
Also I think the White Fang would kill the SDC more likely if they're not tied up so I tied them up. When I think about it, Kile isn't here. I counted and found only 41 SDC Soldiers; the other six are dead so where's Kile.
As I was about to look outside I heard some fighting outside, I guess that's Kile still fighting. Not wanting one of the few people here that could be redeemed die I run outside to go get him.
The attack on the base was terrible, as planned. My brothers and sisters both started to fall one after another. The sad part was I wanted this to happen, but I didn't.
I was inside the central building that was made to separate the different Dust types. I wanted nothing else than to save my people, but I knew that if we did we would only fuel the flames of hatred. There would be no peace if the Slave came with us and joined our cause. It would be just new bodies thrown at a pointless war that didn't need to happen.
While in here I used my Semblance to look at the battle outside. I saw the SDC Soldiers kill my family ruthlessly, but I saw one person, a boy no older than my own brother. In the fighting, it seemed as if he held back and only knocked my family unconscious, it seems he dislikes killing, an admiral trait, but a foolish one.
At first he seemed like any other Huntsmen, but then he saved a Faunus Slave and his child from an unfair death.
Not only that he healed him and took him to the Soldier that shot and all he said was one word and that was all that needed for the Soldier to do as he was told.
A kind child...just like my brother, I wonder if they would ever be friends. After hours of fighting the child took on my brethren and succeeded, all was said and done, my forces were defeated and soon they find me here and take me in custody and finally it'll be over.
Finally my Oath would be impossible and Adam won't be suspicious of me.
As I relaxed for once in 4 years I saw the most unbelievable, the SDC Soldiers turned on the child. They said the child was a part of the White Fang, no he couldn't be, but why did he help the SDC evacuat…...unless….ahhh I see what a clever plan and it worked, using legal bullshit.
We came to free the Slaves, but in reality he was the one to save them, what a twist of fate a lone child did what a portion of an army couldn't do.
Over the next five minutes I watched from the child's eyes how he completely destroyed the SDC Soldiers, it was 26 to 1, but he still won. It seemed the child's job was done, but the boy made a selfless act.
He could have let both forces that were evil in their own right die, but instead he took all that lived to a safe place and stood as guard of them. I wonder if this boy sees himself as a Hero or as a Villain or both, does he feel he's in the right.
I used my Semblance. I saw a lone SDC Soldier through the eyes of a bird, fighting. He was bleeding and was bruised all over and charging against him was an ordinary White Fang member.
Their blades clashed over and over as they fought with hatred in every attack. When I looked closer I saw Kyle, the one who was too young. A pain struck my soul and I struggled internally. I could fight and save the young fool that joined our ranks or I could stay here and finally be over with my servatood.
But the child dies, but this boy, he hasn't seen the World, he hasn't seen the True reality of the World, he hasn't lived. He doesn't deserve to die because of my personal issues. With a vengeance to stop my "Brother" From dying I exited the building and ran towards the fight. Soon I arrived right behind the final fight.
Kyle filled with anger that the White Fang taught him to wield, he swang with his burning heart. The way his attack was going it was going to be deflected and it would open the opportunity for his enemy to kill him. Not willing to let that happen I grab my Soldier's shirt from the collar and pull him back as I swing my chainsaw. Instead of clashing with a SDC brand Sword it clashed with a beautiful Sword the blade was a shiny metal and the hilt was red with carefully wrapped ribbons as if a master of the crafts made it and the one wielding it was the young Huntsmen.
Before it was too late I grabbed the back of Kile's collar and pulled him back as I attacked. My Longsword hit against a massive roaring chainsaw instead of a Sword, the fuck. Feeling the force behind the chainsaw I threw Kile to the side and focused my full attention on the person behind the weapon, while I couldn't see the person clearly I knew they were a massive threat. Not knowing the consequences of keeping my Sword clashing with a chainsaw, my blade was caught by one of the chainsaw teeth and was pulled down.
Instead of trying to keep my footing I went with the momentum and followed my blade and rolled under my new enemy. As I got to the other side the White Fang grunt was on the floor on his ass and the new enemy was way bigger and didn't look like an ordinary Soldier, dude's tall.
The man was a massive at least 7 ft tall, he wore a White Fang shirt with no sleeves and he had a massive tattoo on his left arm and his mask wasn't like the ordinary masks, his mask covered his whole face, not just the top half. He had a buzz cut, uhh I hate buzz cuts. So this guy looks like the Lieutenant because every good Leader has to stand out from the fodder, wink wink nudge nudge.
Great and he appears when my Auras at 35%, why universe just let me fight the boss at the very beginning. Oh yeah I did once and it didn't go very well.
Knowing who the bigger threat was, I charged at the Lieutenant, this time I only made single contact with his chainsaw or my Sword will get caught again, he got lucky the first time it wouldn't happen again.
I attacked and he blocked it. He tried to spartan kick me, but I ducked under as his foot came for my face. While under him I quickly grabbed his leg and drew my revolver, I needed to start using my revolver again. I hold the leg in place as I point the gun at the back of his knee and fire three times.
He groaned in pain as he swung his chainsaw to hit me. I dodged, but as I did he moved his weapon in a way that kept his momentum from the last swing and used it on his next one. I look up and see the blade in my face. On instinct I used an Aura palm and it was blocked. The Lieutenant didn't stop, he kept pushing until he felt himself gaining leverage.
I thought I was holding up good, but my Aura palm started to break, fuck I forgot that Aura palm can only take so much damage. I spin to my left and narrowly dodge the massive weapon that went for my head. With the spin I kicked the side of his right knee, if you take away the mobility of your opponent you practically won the battle.
The Lieutenant groaned as he lifted his weapon in the air and smashed it into the ground. The floor cracked and a massive wave of air pressure pushed me back.
As I stopped being pushed I grabbed my capacitor and set it to 1 and swallowed the Dust cube. The power of Ignis flowed through me as the Lieutenant started to charge me. I made the Dust flow into the palms of my hands as I held them behind me. I flowed Aura into my legs as I launched myself at Lieutenant as I launched myself. I activated my fire Dust in my palms adding extra speed to my attack. Lieutenant didn't see it coming that fast so all he could do was a half hearted block.
The force of the kick launched Lieutenant into the center builder of the SDC facility. I heard him crash through the outside wall and hitting the floor inside. I landed and headed into the place to finish this.
As I got inside it was pure darkness except the little light coming from the hole I made. With an idea I lit a fire in the palm of my hand as I did it made the area visible and it also made a chain flying at me visible.
I tried to dodge, but it was already around my neck and the second it was secured I was pulled and I fell to the floor. Not wanting this to keep destroying my Aura I grab the chain and summon Threads to follow the chain to the Lieutenant. They got to him and they ignited and caught his hand on fire and slowly started to spread over his arm and torso. He tugged harder making my Aura flare and having enough of this I grabbed the chain and melted it with my fire Dust.
As I escaped I made my fire Threads cover the floor around me and ignite it all, catching the floor on fire and making the whole inside of the building visible, finally I can see properly. Good, level the playing fields.
I saw the Lieutenant he had in his left arm a chain that looked like a chain you use for chainsaws and in his right his chainsaw that no longer had a chain with teeth, but just rotating blades, that's where the chain came from.
Knowing if I don't end this soon I'll be in a bad spot. I activated my True Aura once more, I got 4 minutes at best. The power was addictive, but I could only have it for so long before I ran out of Aura. God I hate the limits I have, It's annoying.
With speed I appeared in front of him and kicked him in the chin and sent him up into the air. With luck he landed on a pathway that was off the ground in the air that was held at both ends of the building. It had a railing and was held by support, there were 2 above the one he was on.
Dammit luck bastard. I jump up to get on the same level with him to keep the pressure up. As I got up there his chain wrapped around me and the most bullshit part was at the end it wrapped around the railing so I was trapped. Lieutenant came from behind and swang with vengeance at me. Quickly I melt the chains around me and get out of the way. The Lieutenant was already swinging so into the floor so his weapon got stuck. With this perfect opportunity I charged at his ready to do a precise Aura Arc.
He looked at me as my Sword was shoved in his face. The worst part was it hit, then a sudden burst increased the force behind it 3 fold. He was sent back with his Aura flaring intensely.
As I smashed his face in he got thrown with his chainsaw. Wanting to finish this I kept the pressure up and charged towards the Lieutenant who was on his back. The Lieutenant slowly got up and faced me, his mask slowly crumbed and fell apart and showed me the person's true identity.
Seeing my enemy face made my legs feel weak and I tripped and fell over. My mind was so overfilled with questions and assumptions because the one in front of me was one of my only friends, Yatsuhashi.
He was in front of me in a White Fang uniform attacking a SDC base, fighting me to the death, but why he would never do this he respected life and would never kill, it was impossible, he would never do this.
I was in shock. He was one of the people on this planet I actually trusted and now I know it was all a….a….lie.
With blood boiling from betrayal and a single tear fell from my face as I yelled. "Yats….."
Before I could even get his name out he threw his chainsaw straight at me blade first. Because of my divided focus I get hit in the center of the chest with it. By the tremendous force behind the weapon and the weight of the weapon my Aura gave out and shattered.
I was sent flying backwards, now I didn't have Aura. My advantage with True Aura was gone. They damage the weapon inflicted on me two broken ribs and a massive bruise I know I'm going to have later.
I lift myself off the floor and I see my friend turned enemy lunging at me with chainsaw in hand. That's it, I had enough. I summon thousands of Threads and send them towards the Lieutenant and attack him from every direction. He stopped in his tracks and fought off the Threads for a couple of seconds, but got overwhelmed by them and with a single metal command I ignited the fire Dust.
Yatsuhashi turned into the human torch as he ran side to side trying to stop the fire and the pain.
Fuck I can't keep up with him without my True Aura, while I am strong True Aura is really the thing that puts my levels above other people. In preparation I coat my Sword in fire Thread. I amassed my Thread into the sharpest blade I could and I charged ready to stab. As I got close I saw a light green Aura light near Yatsuhashi's eyes and in a fluent motion he grabbed my Sword with his left hand and held it in place, how did he know? With his right he swung his chainsaw at my open left side.
In desperation I unsheathed my left dagger and blocked the chainsaw. Luckily most of the damage it did was blocked, but he diverted the angle of his attack towards the hilt where my fingers were. If I lose a finger I'm going to be so pissed.
I deflected the attack and back up, as I did I left a trail of blood. I look at my left hand and see the back of my hand mauled and my index and middle fingers were a little mangled and chucks of flesh sticking out, fucking owwwww.
As I look up at Yatsuhashi a chain wraps around my right hand and pulls me forward. I see him coming for another swing. In desperation I summoned the tiny portion of Aura I regenerated and turned it into an Aura palm.
His chainsaw was blocked, but in a few seconds it broke through. Not wanting to die I sacrificed my already damaged left arm. The chainsaw blades started to tear though my left vambraces and quickly got to the flesh, but before it got to bone I summoned a massive amount of Thread under me and went over to the back of his knees.
With a swift blow to the back of his knees he fell down losing the force he had behind his strike. With this final moment I detached my bleeding arm from the chainsaw and with a fire infused strike I stabbed his throat, with a single strike to a vital point on the body his Aura shattered. He backed up while coughing, holding his throat from the immense pain he was in. As I got back into a new stance to accommodate my injured arm.
We both charged each other as I started my plan.
For the next moments we both fought with different emotions in us, me with sadness and anger, for him emptiness. Him and I matched each blow. Where he outmatched me with power and strength. I outmatched him with the various techniques I learned over my travels. We slowly started to get tired and strikes would graze us and blood flowed out of our wounds. Both stood opposed to one another on a platform as the ground beneath them was ablaze. This was it the final moment the moment the victor would be decided.
Him and I both charge at each other weapons ready to end the other's life. As I was five feet from him I jumped up to the platform above us and the platform we were standing on fell. The platform we were standing on I melted its supports keeping it up so it fell.
Yatsuhashi with fear in his eyes fell into shock, not able to do anything. As he fell a Thread whip wrapped around his leg and pulled him up. His body turned upside down as he was pulled to the next platform with speed.
As he got to it he saw his enemy and I said. "Yastuhashi you betray….." And a punch to the jaw of Yatsuhashi with the force of him coming towards me and my punch colliding knocked him out.
Finally, fucking finally it over. I slumped down and sat next to my former friend and a single tear fell from my face. The thing was I respected Yatsuhashi to an extreme degree because I saw all of my good traits in him while he had none of my bad ones. I saw myself in him and now I see he was lying. I got up off the floor and grabbed Yatsuhashi and walked towards a wall.
The wall was what kept me from the outside so I drew my Longsword and slashed four times. With that a hole was made. Again I grab Yatsuhashi and drop down to the ground. My knees popped and creaked as I landed, seriously after this mission I want a goddamn bath.
As I look around I see Kile and the final White Fang member still dooking it out. Is this how it is, this is war to keep fighting until the last man standing.
No I had enough of this useless fighting that just wastes life for no fucking reason. With a single command a massive Thread whip flies towards the both and consumes them. Inside the whip they were knocked unconscious and tied up, sorry Kile, but you're a threat if you're awake.
I pick them up and head towards my makeshift shelter. I got in and put everyone in their places. I look at Yatsuhashi and think why. I grab my first aid and start working on my left arm and the numerous wounds on my body and with my Threads and a couple of Aura pulses on my body. I got the wounds to stop bleeding and stitched them up. With that I eat a healing Dust cube and start the pains of the medicine. I look at my left arm and think, fuck guess I got another scar I swear thier's a pattern, but I just can't see it. I noticed one of the Soldiers waking up and I checked who it was, it was Porro. He looked around dazed and saw me.
His full attention was on me and he said. "You won't get away with this, you will be caught and the SDC wi…." I had enough of him so I knocked him out for the third time today. How did this guy become the boss of this place?
I look outside and see a couple of Grimm coming closer to the shelter. Of course my mission isn't over. I still had to handle the endless horde of Grimm.
I walked out and met the hundred of Grimm and for the rest of the night I protected the survivors of the Battle of the Gulag.
As the sun rised a battalion of Atlas Soldiers surrounded the SDC and secured the place, the facility was filled with holes and the signs of battle were very obvious and the center building was burned down from a fire. They found the survivors in the office building tied up along with the White Fang members tied up as well.
Because the actual military was there no revenge was done and the White Fang went to prison, the best situation for them. The SDC Soldiers were rewarded with medals for their valor, but some looked at it with disgust, some saw the sickness they were helping live. Maybe they finally saw the repercussions of what they're doing. After that day some SDC Soldiers and staff left for their own reasons and a certain person named Kile quit and headed towards Whiterun, some say he wanted to go find his purpose in the World.
Porro was demoted for not keeping the place protected well enough and the Soldier told of a criminal that impersonated a Huntsmen who took on both sides and won. The SDC notified the Valan council and they said they couldn't do anything. Nobody remembers his face because most only got a glimpse before he covered himself in armor and none of cameras were working at the time, probably from the White Fang. What most remembered was the sheer power and Aura the imposter was giving off.
What the Atlas military was wary about was they couldn't find the Lieutenant that commanded the attack. One thing was for sure the higher ups in Atlas will come back to investigate, maybe even General Ironwood would take a look.
Inside Mount Helios, Qrow sat next to Eorlund. The Huntsmen that followed them to make the excursion safer waited outside as Qrow orders. Eorlund hammering away on his anvil, he made them carry anvils, hammers, and other things so he could make the Sword up there. As the hammering stopped, Qrow looked over and said. "Hey Eorlund, you finished with it yet?"
Eorlund looked at the new Sword. While six hours working on it might seem little time to refine and craft it, but the material formed the way he wanted, it was as if the material understood what he thought of and did it. With much effort in the short time he created a Masterpiece. He looked at the Sword and wanted to keep holding it and said. "...Uh yeah it's done."
Qrow smiled and walked over and said. "Good give it and let's get out of here." Qrow hated this place now, another place where he was almost killed.
Eorlund held the blade's grip tightly and said. "...I'll hold it for….."
Qrow saw the unwillingness to hand it over kinda like how he acted, shit better not be cursed. "No, I had clear orders to keep it on me at all times." He said straight out to stop any fighting from happening.
Eorlund contemplated for a second and said. "...Here." As he handed the weapon to Qrow.
Qrow didn't really expect much, but when his eyes saw the Sword he wanted it. "Let's head out," He said, grabbing his pack and putting it on.
Out of his funk Eorlund remembers a request Andres made. "Actually Andres wanted me to make him something with this." He said as he raised a green scale.
"Is that another scale?" Qrow said, confused. Then he remembered Oz talking about two scales, not just one, little shits been keeping that one hidden.
"Yes he said make something useful with this." Eorlung said, a little excited. Yes, while he did make a deal to create the Sword in reality he would have done it even if Andres didn't take the deal. Once in Eorlund's life he had a material that's so strong not even the mightiest Sword he made from Helios flames stood a chance.
He is a man of his art and a chance at shaping a godly material was a one in a lifetime chance and now he got a second scale.
He didn't like Andres that much because he was just a child who thought the World would bend to what he says, but for once he'll help the brat out.
"I got an idea…." Qrow said remembering all the scars Andres has been getting and maybe this will decrease the chances of it happening. Dammit he's going to be here longer now.
The second I saw the airships coming my way I grabbed Yatsuhashi to get some goddamn answers and got out of dodge. I ran towards Whiterun, but kept to the trees to not get caught, really don't want to be wanted on this planet's most wanted list because you know the whole Huntsmen are like Superman.
As we got out of the forest that surrounded the SDC facility I kept heading towards Whiterun, but I was tired and really wanted to rest because the whole fighting for 8 hours straight. And as if God gave me a sign, an abandoned looking building was in front of me. Not caring anymore, I head inside with Yatsuhashi.
I kick the door down and all I see is an ordinary house, but filled with dust and cobwebs, uhhh I hate spiders. I lay Yatsuhashi down on the floor carefully so my Dagger won't go deeper.
Oh yeah I stabbed him with my dagger, wait before you start calling me a monster I did it so his Aura won't come back and it's not deep it's just ⅛ inch deep. I know Aura regenerates at all times so I'd have to fight him again if he woke up fully Auraed up and I don't have the energy or the Aura to fight him again. I sit down and look at Yatsuhashi with disgust, but some understanding.
I don't know his past so I can't just flat out blame him. Maybe h…..is he a Faunus, I mean how didn't have any sig….no it isn't always obvious, forgot about cases like Clover. The thing is when we were fighting I felt he wasn't trying his best almost like he wanted to lose.
"Yatsuhashi why?" I say quietly while rubbing my head because of a headache.
Like his name was a release for a spell he woke up and said. "Yatsuhashi, where are you?"
Guess it's time for the truth even if it hurts. "...Wake up!" I yell, if he's going to answer me he'll need to know the questions I tell him.
He looked around like a frightened beast and said. "Where am I?!"
Like I'll tell him. "With me…...so Yatsuhashi this isn't how I imagined us meeting again." I said, trying to keep calm. Really I imagined I'd see him at Beacon when I go over there someday.
He looked at me with feral eyes and said. "How do you know that name?!" His voice was filled with panic and fear.
"You, you idiot." I said getting confused, does he not remember, maybe he's a sleeper agent.
"That's not my name." He said, confused.
Ok headaches getting worse. "Wait what, your Yatsuhashi, you and I fought together, do you not remember." I said a little disheartened. did he really forget me, well I'm not really all that rememberable.
I push down the small sadness building inside me and rub my head harder like it would make things better.
"You fought with Yatsuhashi, are you his friend?" What, the fuck is he on about.
"I used to be your friend until you betrayed me, you tried to kill me. Also stop acting like you're not Yatsuhashi or is that your fake name you used to get into Beacon!" I yell with fury, was his friendship with Coco, Velvet, and Fox a lie too.
He looked at me completely confused, but then his face lit up and he said. "Your Yatsuhashi friend…..I'm not Yatsuhashi, I'm his brother."
….
My eyes go wide as I think about what mindboggaling thing he just said. "...WWW What!, but… wha….how...why." I say completely just flabbergasted by his explanation. So that's why he didn't recognize me and didn't know me. A massive sadness was lifted from me knowing I didn't just lose a friend, it's refreshing to know I didn't get betrayed a second time.
He looked around and said. "So you captured me?" He smiled a bit and said. "We're not in the Gulag anymore, where are we?"
It's not like he's going to be able to escape. "I took you and we're just outside of Whiterun." I say knowing what I'm going to do with him.
"You're saving me?" He said a little morbid. I'd expect a thank you if I was going to do that.
"No, I wanted answers, but I guess you already gave me them." I said relieved.
"So my brother, how is he? Is he eating well, has he got a girlfriend." He said quickly and excitedly. Hasn't he seen his brother?
Thinking about Yatsuhashi I say. "Yeah he got himself a girl and by the way he's built I'm sure he eats well." I said remembering his massive figure and how he towered over me.
"So he's at Beacon." He said it like a statement.
"Yeah, why you ask?" I said
"It's just he always wanted to become a Huntsman and he really did it. I'm so proud." He said with a smile on his face. Guess anybody can be a caring brother.
"You care about him." I said knowing the feeling of caring for your family deeply.
"I do, I would protect him with every part of me." He said with his Will in every word.
"When was the last time you talked to him?" I said getting an idea.
"4 years ago." He said sadly.
"Hold on a second, I need to make a call." I said grabbing the scroll Dovahkiin gave me and grabbed the piece of paper that had a certain person's phone number.
I put the number in. As I waited for them to pick up I said. "Come on, come on."
They pick up and I hear. "This is Coco and this better not be another telemarketer or I will…." Yup, it's her number.
I stop her and say. "Hey Coco, it's been a while." I said with a slight smile.
I hear a gasp and then. "Andres or should I say Ryuu you've been making a name for yourself. Mostly with taking on the Branwen tribe. Those guys are some tough cookies." Well two of them were tough and the rest were weak per say.
"Wow you're keeping tabs on me kinda in a creepy way, but thanks, hey I'm calling for a favor." I say, hoping she will comply. Also why does everyone I meet or know knows Ryuu? Am I really that talked about by the media?
"Is it about my offer, good I think you and me could make a great power coupl….." She said like I agreed. Oh god forgot about that.
I interrupted her before she got the wrong idea and said. "Not that, I need you to put on Yatsuhashi." While I haven't said anything about that offer I'll keep it open if I'm ever around Beacon. As I said Yatsuhashi's name I looked at the Lieutenant and he looked at me with teary eyes, the big guy looked ready to cry.
"Ohhh you swing for the other team. I get it, Yatsuhashi is a hunk." She said understandingly. Fuck no I'm straight.
"No I'm not gay, I'm straight!" I yell into the scroll. Like hell my chance at getting snu-snu with a beautiful woman will be taken like that.
"Woh woh, why you have to bring the gays into this, I fucking with ya. So why do you need the tank?" She said cracking a joke.
Dammit she got me. I say. "It's a personal matter and before you give him the phone make sure to tell him to go somewhere private where no camera or microphone can see or hear." Wow now I say it. I do kinda have suspicious behavior, but I have to because he's in Ozpin turf and if Ozpin hears that I have a White Fang captive he'll find out more to have dirt on me which is a bad thing.
She says happily. "So you are gay and why with the paranoia." She is not going to let that down. I can feel it.
"I might have done something illegal." I said quietly.
I could literally hear her roll her eyes as she said. "Of course you did. I swear my dad told me to stay away from Bad Boys." When I was a kid I was told to become a bad boy to get the girls, P.S I was too nerdy to ever be considered a "Bad Boy"
"Lucky for you I'm a really good boy." I said knowing my history. I'm kinda a Hero. I kill and stuff, but I do save people.
With a snort she says. "Says you, so I need to go find Yatsuhashi so wanna chat." Finally, a totally normal conversation.
"Yeah it's been awhile since my talks haven't been about anything serious. So how is the Beacon life going." I said a little curious because if I stayed there I could have become someone completely different.
"Boring during class and awesome during missions. Also something weird happened 5 days ago. A massive roar was heard around the school and we all got ready to fight a Grimm, but it was just a big sound that people say came from Whiterun." She pointed out. You've got to be kidding me. Why Paarthurnax, why when I just made it, yeah go ahead and send a fucking Beacon to the new threats on the board, seriously I don't want more people on my ass.
"..." I say nothing, I just rubbed my head to relieve the now worsening headache.
After not hearing me for a couple of seconds she says. "Hey your silent, why are you silent…..no it can't be y…..no it's you, your just a trouble magnet, fucking eh that was you, seriously whats your problem with the dramatics." She said knowing the massive trouble I've been in.
"I….yeah it was me, but it's good though, it means I'm a major step to saving my people." I said wanting to point out the good of it.
"Your such a trouble magnet and I can't explain it. So about your people, where are they, maybe if you let us hel…" She was about to finish when I interrupted her.
I say. "Coco, thank you. I appreciate it, but I'm still a ways off from saving them….so Ozpin is he acting weird." I want to switch subjects for now, maybe when I'm face to face with her again I'll talk about Earth and my mission…..like she would believe me.
"Yeah he's been really lenient with Team RWBY and RWBY seems to really not trust him and it's been spreading to other kids." She said informing me. Yesh guess that's my bad. RWBY is that Ruby's team, nah that would be too on the nose and a little weird.
"Uhh oops I did that." I said innocently, good to know my influence has spread, maybe in the future I could change the World.
"Not only that, but they've been training their asses off and they're getting really good, talking about training how's yours going." She says wanting to know. Good, at least I know Beacon students are actually training for a better tomorrow.
A little overconfident, I say. "Ha, let's just say if I go serious I could probably take on your team by myself." Really I think I can't, their teamwork is really good and I can at max Aura last at most 13 minutes in True Aura mode, that's if I don't get hit.
She scoffed and said. "Bullshit, two months ago you could barely keep up with us and you expect me to believe you've gotten that much stronger." I wouldn't believe me either.
"Well if I have no other plans I could go to Beacon and show you how strong I've gotten." I said a little seductive.
"Ummm a challenge, but know this it counts both ways. P.S I'll destroy you in bed." She said bluntly.
"There goes the subtlety." I say.
"I'm not what you call subtle. Hey Yatsuhashi, your friend is calling you and it's private." She said not into the scroll.
A second later I hear a much more calmer and quiet voice. "Hello, who is this?" I look at the White Fang member and think his story is real.
"Hey, it's Andres." I say happy.
"Ah Andres, it's been a while, what do you need?" He said getting to the point.
"Are you somewhere private?" I said because I don't know YatsuhashI's reaction when he hears his brother is with the White Fang. Maybe he'll cry or yell or just hang up. I don't know.
"No, but why." He asked curiously.
"Because it's about your brother." I said firmly.
"...Hold on for a second.'' He said as I heard wind in the audio, damn it important to him. A minute later he spoke. "I'm back. What about Oliver, is he with you?" He said a little impatiently.
"Here I'll let you talk to him." I said, passing the scroll to Oliver. I put the scroll in between his shoulder and his head so he can hold it while tied up.
"Hello brother." He said as tears fell down his face. Damn the floodgates have opened. Guess if I was in his position I would be worse, I'm kinda a crybaby.
"Oliver you're alive!" Yatsuhashi said after a sniff like he was crying, guess the gentle giant can cry. "I missed you." He said
"I missed you too, Yatsu I have done something terrible." Oliver said like he's admitting to a crime he's asha….oh thats why.
"What?" Yatsuhashi said calming down.
"I joined the White Fang." Said and all I heard was silence from the other end.
With anger Yatsuhashi said. "Why, you said you didn't want to be with them!" He didn't yell, but wasn't quiet either.
"I had to for Adam." He said crying a bit more. This got my attention immediately, I only know one Adam and I'm sure it's not a coincidence it's his name.
"Why show loyalty towards him he's a murder, he only kills for his own bloodlust." Yatsuhashi said angrily, but it sounded like he was trying to figure it out himself.
"He wasn't always like that. He used to be kind, but now he's been ruthless and apathetic and I had no way to get away." He said. He wants to get away from Adam. Hell, I met the guy once and I never want to meet him again.
"Why are you following him?" Yatsuhashi said, wanting an answer.
"Because he saved you and me, he set us free from our chains. He gave us the right to be free so you can become a Huntsman." Oliver said. Last I checked Adam was a murder not a savior.
"But why swear your loyalty towards him?" Yatsuhashi said practically crying out. Loyalty it seems like an amazing word, but in reality it can cripple a man who has too much of it and finally for the first time I'm watching a man crumble from the strain of loyalty.
The way he didn't fight at his best, the way he talked about Adam and the White Fang. He doesn't want to be with the White Fang anymore, but he can't leave because of his loyalty.
"Because he wanted to have you join the White Fang, but I stopped him. He told me if I swoar my loyalty, you would be let go to follow you destiny." He said give his brother the truth. So Adam practically forced him or is there more to it.
Four Years ago at a now destroyed SDC Mining Camp
The twins, both branded and stepped on, lived inside a SDC mining camp. They both were worked the hardest because of their massive physiques. Since they were children they lived in the SDC ever since their drunkard of a human father signed them away by accident.
Once the signature was on the paper they grabbed the two rugrats and took them to hell. While the blame was completely on the father, he didn't know what he was doing.
Since their Faunus mother's death from a filthy mugger that stabbed her to death, he lost his way, he became a drunk and tried his best to keep his kids together as a family, but one day he got laid off because he was late to work. The next day he was visited by some SDC marketers, he threw them out and kept looking for a job, but at every new job opportunity they always told him they couldn't take him in because some reviews from the SDC came in and they didn't look good.
Weeks later when he was drunk beyond oblivion by drowning his sorrows they came again. They talked about him getting an amazing job and his kids would be able to taken care of and all he had to do was sign his name on the paper.
With his intoxicated mind he wrote it down. While the laws were there to stop this, the SDC found a way around. The rats did this not just to one family, but to every single Faunus family that were in a bad situation, preying on the weak.
Since then both were raised in the mines. One brother was human and the other was Faunus, but that did stop the SDC from using them both.
After 8 years of being whipped and abused in both physical and mental ways they had enough, they both planned to force their way out. One night they tried it and it went terribly and they got captured and were disciplined, Tortured.
Oliver was conscious and Yatsuhashi comatosed from a serious blow to the head. During their tourture session the wall to the outside came down. A red haired man in a Grimm mask walked in and sliced the torturer in two when he saw us bleeding in our chairs. Oliver begged the man to set them free and with care for their well being he did.
Oliver thanked him with his soul and picked up Yatsuhashi and ran to escape, but their exits were blocked off by reinforcements. Olive put down Yatsuhashi and fought with the White Fang, while in Slavery he got a pretty good idea on how they work. They kill to save people, he didn't agree with how they did things, but a small growing part saw hope in their goals.
Out of the White Fang Oliver showed the most promise, he killed the SDC faster and more efficiently than anyone else, this got the attention of some.
After hours of fighting blood, flesh, and tears stopped pouring. The SDC Facility was destroyed, Adam gathered the Slaves and started to head to their base. Oliver knew Yatsuhashi hated the White Fang and wanted to become a Huntsmen. While Adam gathered the Slaves he talked to Oliver about him and Yatsuhashi joining the White Fang, he was honest about what they did without beating around the bush.
Oliver saw a chance to save and to give his brother what he's always wanted and if for once in his life make a change so he made Adam a deal, if he gets Yatsuhashi to Vale's hospitals he will serve Adam with his life and soul. Adam knew if he didn't accept the deal he would lose them both so he took it.
Yatsuhashi was taken to Vale and dropped off and Oliver said his goodbye to his unconscious brother. Since that day Oliver did what he had to to keep his brother safe from his slowly turning Sociopath Leader. The once great man he respected not out of the deal, but out of his resolve to save his people. He was now chained to, but out of hard fought battles they shared together he started to become unstable.
"Dammit Oliver, why don't you ever think about yourself first, why, why let your soul be taken for me." Yatsuhashi said as he slammed his fist against a wall next to him.
"Brother, at first it was as if I finally found my purpose. To save the lives that have been wrong, but over time the actions we took were horrific. I wanted to leave and forget my Oath to Adam, but if I do he will find you and kill you, he's now ruthless even to the people closest to him….ever since She left." Oliver said.
Is that why he didn't help the White Fang in the raid. He wanted to get captured to be unable to obey his Oath.
"..." Yatsuhashi didn't say anything as I heard a slight sob. His brother sacrificed so much and he can't do a thing about it.
"So if Adam is stopped, you're free to live your life." I said kinda getting an idea of what his Oath is and how he's trying to stay away from it without breaking it.
Adam needs to die, I haven't heard a better sentence since I came here.
Oliver looked down at the floor with a dead eyed look and said. "If that's even possible Adams' is a demon in a Faunus body. His beliefs are so strong you could never knock him out, he won't stop until humanity falls to Faunus's feet." He may be a demon, but he's mortal, he'll bleed.
"Adam's not invincible, I'm going to fight Adam anyway so soon your Oath will be broken because Adams isn't going to survive our next encounter." I said trying to convince him and myself, while beating him as a fear is hard, actually beating him in reality will be a nightmare.
"Can you really?" He said looking up at me hopeful. Can I really keep that promise?
"Of course." I said, feeling like I just lied.
For the next 10 hours him and Yatsuhashi talked, yeah I know. Coco came by a couple times to get her phone, but left it with Yatsuhashi. They both seemed so excited to just talk to one another. It was refreshing for me to see.
Once they hung up, Oliver thanked me. I told him to give me his backstory and with no resistance he gave it. As he finished he told me something important. He knew of Adam's base of operations and a couple of his outposts and about a secret plan that Adam didn't tell him about. All he knew was Mount Glenn was being used as a base of operation.
After that I grabbed Oliver and headed to Whiterun. While I will break that Oath I still need him to be arrested, but by the Whiterun militia instead of Vales, I do believe he is innocent in a way, but he's still guilty he's committed atrocities in the name of the White Fang.
I entered Whiterun through a secret back entrance to Dragonsreach. As I got inside I saw Dovahkiin talking to his guards about no Grimm in the area. I talked to him about the situation and he understood very well about what happened and had the militia arrest him, Dovahkiin accepted his new prisoner. As they hauled off with Oliver I saw a river of tears flow out of him as if the weight of the World was gone…...I wonder how much longer until I can feel like that.
