A/N You know the deal. I am trying to fix this story into a better one, because I have more readers than I deserve, and they all are lovely. I hope you enjoy.

Disclaimer 1: As someone who has been bullied, I know that a love story between a bully and a victim can't be this easy. As seemed from the platforms name, it is just a fiction. But I also want to say, this love story between Clary and Jace is not going to be that easy. I also want to note that, Jace is not exactly a bully, but more of a tease. People like Sebastian are bullies. You haven't seen a lot of Sebastian scenes, but he gets physical with his victims, thus making him the real bully. But Jace being just a tease, doesn't mean that the relationship between Jace and Clary is going to develop that easily. Note that even though Jace is not exactly a bully, he and Clary are not the bestest friends. So there is going to be some drama between them. I just want to say this to people who got bullied: I have been bullied heavily since I even began elementary school, so don't take this story as disrespect, because believe me, I would have wanted every bully in the world to understand their mistakes and befriend or fall in love with people they did unfairness to; but life is not that easy, and as I wrote before, this is just a fiction.

With all respect,

The author of the story.

Disclaimer 2: Roses are red, violets are blue, only the plot is made by me for you.

While walking through the jam-packed and deafening halls of Idris High, Clary couldn't help but think of her first days here.

She was six when her mum finally had the courage to go to police and make a report on her abusing husband. Both Clary and her Mum would be beaten bloody every time they did something wrong or Valentine simply came home drunk. Once Jocelyn decided that they should run off, but Valentine caught them before they could catch a bus to Brooklyn. This time Valentine beat them, harming them severely, and locked them in the basement. But Clary's 13 year old brother Jonathan let both of them out before Valentine came home intoxicated. When Jocelyn wanted to try and flee, Jonathan told them Valentine had friends in the ticket station informing him about their every attempt to escape. So Jocelyn took both of them to the police, crying. They stayed there for 2 days, until Valentine came, demanding to see his wife and children. When police arrested him, Valentine told Jocelyn that after he comes out, he will find them, wherever they go.

They stayed in the town for a month, before Jocelyn decided that they needed to have a clear slate.

So they moved to Brooklyn, where Jocelyn's old best friend had a book store. Luke gladly took them in. Jocelyn opened an art gallery with the money she took from Valentine's old bank account.

Soon enough both Jonathan and Clary went to Idris. Clary was still in elementary, while Jonathan was in middle school. This caused them to go in separate buildings. Clary was scared of being lonely, but in her math class, when she sat near a boy with nerdy looking, black framed glasses, she learned that he was a victim of child abuse too, and they became very close friends.

Simon knew a good deal about Clary. He knew that Clary's brother Jonathan was put on life support and later passed away as a result of a car crash he and Jocelyn got involved in. Furthermore he knew that Valentine stabbed Luke after learning that he couldn't take custody of Clary, even though he was out of jail. And he undoubtedly was aware of the fact that Valentine was killed in a fight with the police.

Simon was not that much made fun of comparing to Clary. There were a lot of guys like Simon in Idris: skinny figure, nerdy looking glasses that made him look like Harry Potter, and excellent grades. But you couldn't say the same about Clary. There weren't any girls in Idris High that had crazy red hair, ridiculously green eyes that looked like contacts, a very short height and a fierce character. Also that girls probably didn't have a tease named Jace Herondale.

You see you couldn't exactly call Jace a bully. Yeah, he would constantly bug Clary, call her "shrimp" and sometimes put ridiculous things in her locker that would make people look at her and laugh. Jace didn't actually tease anybody else then Clary, making her believe that Jace hated her for some unknown reason. He humiliated her on several occasions in front of all school. Clary loathed Jace.

Clary was sitting in English class, not even paying attention to the teacher. When she was in math class, Jace constantly threw some crumbled papers at her, effectively irritating her. And worst of all, Mrs. Dot had decided to not see Jace throwing the papers at Clary, but she had seen Clary show him the middle finger, which meant she would have after school detention. Clary was hopping mad. She wanted to go home and wear her paint-splattered clothes and paint while listening to music as soon as possible, but now she needed to stay after school.

Clary was so deep in thought, as always, squiggling, she didn't realize that someone had sat near her, watching her doodle. Subsequently she felt someone's breath on her neck causing her to jump. It was Jace who had his award-winning smirk plastered on his face. Clary frowned, but then decided to ignore him. People like Jace were like Tinkerbell, they would die without getting any attention.

"I thought you were a teacher's pet. I have to say, I am surprised." Jace said breathing from above her. Clary just went on ignoring him, as much as you could ignore someone who was breathing down your neck. But Jace, clearly annoyed with the lack of attention he was getting, raised his hand. Clary, panicked, began watching him, without making any sound, because it was too late.

Mr. Starkweather had already seen Jace's hand.

"Yes? Do you have any questions?" He said in an uninterested voice, clearly hating the lesson as much the students did.

"Actually, I wanted to say that Ms. Fray over here is not paying attention to the class." Jace said with a proud expression on his face. Hodge Starkweather was one of those teacher who liked giving detention to everyone for any mistake. 'Great, I am staying at school tonight.' Clary thought, frowning.

"Ms. Fray, please pay attention to the class." Mr. Starkweather told in a fed up voice, and then turned his back once again, returning to the boring lesson. Clary was shocked about not getting detention of any kind. From the expression on Jace's face, he was shocked as much as Clary. He opened that giant mouth of his once again, clearly wanting Clary to get detention of some kind, as if the after school detention she got cause of him wasn't enough.

"But she was doodl-" He was abruptly cut off by a very bored Mr. Starkweather.

"Mr. Herondale why aren't you paying attention? Are you too distracted by watching Ms. Fray?" then added without waiting for an answer form Jace, who looked downright murderous, "Detention to you, after school."

Then he sassily turned back to the black board, writing some facts. Clary slowly turned her head back, smiling victoriously back at Jace who looked as if he was going to yell from anger.

"Karma is a bitch." Clary said with as much sass as Mr. Stearkweather, returning to doddle. Maybe this day was not going be as bad as she thought it would.

When the bell rang, indicating the end of the class, Clary quickly packed her bag, running out of the classroom to get to Simon. She wanted to-no needed to- tell her best friend about what happened.

Simon was waiting for her near the lockers, nervously staring at his watch. It was a habit he had- checking his watch frequently- when he felt nervy. Clary realized that since this "secret-relationship" between him and Isabelle began, he was edgy. But why was he nervous if everything was good between the two? Clary also didn't fail to see that Simon liked Isabelle, a lot. Like a lot. She remembered the first time she learned about Simon's not so small crush on Isabelle Lightwood.

-Flashback-

Clary was waiting for Simon in the school cafeteria. Simon was a bit late to lunch, which was so unlike him. After fifteen minutes, Clary finally decided something should have happened, and as she was going on full panic mode, Simon came, with red face and puffy lips. He would look like this after he cried, like a rat, realized Clary.

"Simon are you alright?" Clary asked Simon as panicked as a mother would be over her child.

"Yeah, why?" Asked Simon, but he looked half in daze, with a goofy smile. He certainly didn't look like someone who was crying.

"You look like someone who has been crying, besides lunch is going to finish, where were you?" Clary was still spooked. What if Simon had been doing drugs?

"I am just fine Clary, don't push it and don't worry." Simon said, still with that goofy smile.

"Alright, if you say so." Clary said hesitantly, moving a bit for Simon to sit.

Till the end of the lunch, Simon talked about his drama class, and how good Isabelle was at playing the lead role. You needed to be stupid to not realize that he liked Isabelle. But at the time Clary didn't know that she liked him back, and what she thought was a crying face, was actually the face Simon had after making out with Isabelle.

-End of the Flashback-

After Clary was out of her train of thoughts, she realized something. Isabelle was type of girl that didn't care what people thought of her. And she certainly wouldn't care what people thought of her and Simon's relationship if she really liked him. So Clary asked the question that had been bugging her since she learned about Simon and Isabelle's relationship.

"Si, can I ask something?" Clary probed. She thought she would talk about "The Karma Accident" as she called it later. Now her best friend was her number one priority.

"Of course what is it, Fray?" Simon said, sounding a bit impatient.

"Does Isabelle really like you?" Clary said without trying to sugar-coat the question.

Simon looked taken aback. Clearly he didn't anticipate this question.

"Of course Clary, why?"

"But then why are you hiding your relationship?"

This time Simon looked more surprised. He was having problems with predcting Clary and her questions, or so it seemed.

"Actually I was going to discuss that…"

"Simon, is there something I need to know?" Clary asked a bit worried now.

"Yes Clary. Remember when I told you I can't date Isabelle? Well our relationship is kind of forbidden"

Clary blinked. This reaction felt like déjà vu now.

"Actually it is quite literally forbidden"

"Simon Lewis, what on Earth are talking about?" Clary asked a bit loudly.

Simon quickly covered her mouth with his hand. After seeing the murderous look on Clary's face he silently chuckled and went on.

"Clary there is something you need to know about Isabelle's family…"

Break-Break

Simon and Clary moved somewhere they could speak without being heard. As they sat under the shade of the big old oak tree, Simon sighed gloomily. It broke Clary to see her best friend of years this sad, so she was determined on helping him no matter what.

"So? What is this big secret about Lightwoods that I need to know?" Clary tried to break the uncomfortable tension in the air.

Simon exhaled deeply. Turning his head towards the school building, he slowly started to speak.

"Actually it isn't that big of a secret. Lightwoods own a chain of hotels, which I guess you did not know because they try to keep low profile. Anyways, Robert Lightwood, Isabelle's father is planning to retire in the next few years, and leave the hotel chains to one of his children. He was planning on Alec, Isabelle's older brother to be the new owner. But Alec refused to take responsibility, because he has a serious relationship with his boyfriend Magnus Bane, who has a work as a band manager, which means they can travel around a lot together.

After Alec comes Jace. Jace is the Lightwoods adoptive family member, but they can trust him with their lives. However Jace is not planning on settling down and having a family. It seems like he wants to have a bachelor life forever. This is why he refused to take responsibility.

The Lightwood's other son Max, is too young, so it leaves Isabelle as the only option. But Robert Lightwood wants a man to rule over the hotels, I mean he probably thinks a woman is not strong enough to take over his precious buisness. So he was planning on making Isabelle marry with one of the sons of his big clients, so he can take over. Isabelle didn't know his father had these thought when he first proposed the idea of Isabelle ruling over the company, so she just agreed. When signing contracts, she didn't pay attention to what she was signing, trusting her father, but he betrayed her by putting his contract of arranged marriage. And the boy Isabelle is supposed to marry, if you know, is Daniel Blackwell. The guy is 7 years older than Isabelle for God's sake. Isabelle hasn't told anyone, not even her mother and brothers about the contract marriage. She is forced into it by her father, because he cares more about his business then he cares about his daughter's well-being. And I and Isabelle just wanted to give a chance to us, and now we are pretty serious, hell no, we are in love, so no one should know anything for now." Simon finally let out a breath.

Clary, who didn't say anything the whole time, listened to him without stopping him, looked both shocked and furious. Shocked for the seriousness of the problem; and furious to Isabelle's father for forcing her into a marriage she didn't want.

"Wow, it is a tragic romance huh, Prince Charming?" Clary grinned trying to make Simon smile, "You shall go and fetch your princess." Clary added mockingly. But seeing that Simon wouldn't even smile, she scowled.

"So for now you are hiding it, but what will you do when it all comes out? I mean you are delaying it, but it won't solve the problem."

Simon looked at Clary.

"We don't know what to do anymore Fray, we don't know what to do."

It turns out it was a girl from freshman year who saw Isabelle and Simon's make out session. The first half of the day there was nothing, even to the point they thought there would be no rumors, but in the second half of the day, the rumors were spreading like a wildfire. Simon and Clary decided that they would make their "relationship" official after 1 day, so people wouldn't get somehow suspicious of their sudden relationship.

Simon and Clary discussed questions that could be asked, and the perfect fake answer for them what felt like hours, but it was just till the school bus came to get them home. Simon waved goodbye and went home, leaving Clary for her after school detention.

All she needed to do was her homework, but Clary tend to finish them at school; either in lunch, breaks, or unimportant lessons. She wouldn't do them because she was a complete nerd, no. But she liked to go home, paint, it her dinner, listen to music and read book, then go to bed. She had a very simple routine she didn't like to break; she wasn't popular girl who went to parties every other week. She was just a normal high school girl just going on her every day routine.

Clary tend to daydream often, or fell too deep into her whirling colorful mind, that sometimes she forgot where she was. Now sitting in detention classroom, alone, she was trying to sketch a pair of golden-white angel wings, though she didn't know where the idea came from. She would usually listen to music while drawing or painting; it would give her different ideas depending on her mood.

But angel wings was something Clary couldn't decide on; she was either happy, sad, angry or annoyed.

Or it was the time of the month. It had a total different emotion category of itself.

So maybe it was the latter, Clary sighed thinking.

Again too focused on her work, Clary didn't realize the door bang open. But she did realize someone staring at her, burning two holes right through her skull. She didn't elevate her eyes nonetheless, she was angry at the person staring at her head. She knew who it was.

Jace Herondale.

He got detention too, when trying to put Clary in trouble the second time that day. But great. Just great. So everyone else in the school thought it was a very good day to behave good, seeing as there were no one else in detention besides the two. They weren't any teachers to keep an eye on them as well. told her there weren't a lot of people in detention this evening, so she didn't want to waste her perfectly good evening by sitting there and watch 2 troubled kids.

Clary was thinking all this, but then with a slight panic she realized that the stare was still burning hole; and he hadn't even sat anywhere yet.

"Are you going to stare at my head all two hours or what?!" Clary asked not too kindly.

Jace who was watching her intently, did something that surprised Clary: he just shook his head without saying anything nasty back, like normally Jace would.

Instead he sat down near her.

From all 22 desks.

He choose to sit ear her.

Probably just to bug her until she had a short temper explosion. So she just continued on ignoring him, calmly sketching and humming song lyrics under her breath.

10 minutes passed, and Jace was still watching Clary sketch. It began to make Clary uncomfortable. Jace couldn't be watching her mind her business, and not even tell the slightest of sarcastic comment of his. He was probably planning a very evil scheme if he was this silent.

Then he took one curl of Clary's untamed, red hair and began playing with it. He didn't said anything the whole 40 minutes and Clary was more than panicked. He was still playing with Clary's hair; he would slightly pull at it, and then watch in awe when it came back to its original curly shape. He looked like little innocent schoolboy. Clary knew he was far from innocent; but looking in his gold eyes where you could see amazement and happiness was funny, it was all over a curl of hair.

But then Clary thought better of it. He probably had a scissors he was hiding down there, waiting for her vulnerable moment. So she pulled her hair hastily away from him; he suddenly seemed to break out of a daze.

"Don't touch my hair!" Clary said trying to sound deadly-calm like her mother. Before hurricane calm.

This seemed to make Jace come completely to himself again; a smirk pulled at his lips.

"Oh why shrimp? Is it as fake as your personality?" He said lazily, folding his arms behind his neck, stretching.

This was the last drop for her patience. She exploded angrily, and almost yelled:

"What is your problem? I did nothing to bother you. Nothing. And yet here you are, bugging me, as if I just annoy you for no absolute reason. Why do I have to deal with you and your big attitude? Every. Single. Day. I didn't ask for it, nor did I do anything to deserve it. You are acting as if your sole reason to exist is to irritate me. Besides, don't forget that you are the reason I am here. I didn't come here with my own will."

Jace looked astonished. It was a blow he was not anticipating.

Breathing harshly, Clary turned to face Jace one last time.

"Look here, Herondale. I don't have to deal with you anymore. I am done for. You come, insult me again, and you will see what I am capable of doing. And believe me, you don't want to get on my bad side."

Swinging her bag over her shoulder, Clary left the room, not even feeling concerned about the fact that she was leaving the detention early.

When Clary finally reached home did she realize what she had done. She didn't know where that confidence came from, but she knew she would live up to her word, no matter what.
