A/N Hello to everyone! So I just had a breakdown because I realized that my Chemistry homework was due 10:00, and it was 09:46. Yes. Yes I am a huge idiot. But who gives homework due Saturdays?! I mean I know this is suppose to help me get into university, but dude, like come on! Anyways, I have a hugeeee surprise for you guys in this chapter. Like hugeeeee. Anddddddddd, it is a Clace relationship improvement! Sooo, Enjoy!

Jace slowly approached to where Sebastian had caged Clary. She had never felt this happy to see Jace. Sure Jace wouldn't help her out of the situation, but she counted on Jace being a distraction to Sebastian, seeing how much they hated each other.

Jace came to a stop near them. Sebastian, who had just felt the presence of Jace went stiff.

" Herondale, fancy seeing you here." Sebastian gained his composure back, but he still had Clary caged. He was also frowning, probably because Jace had interrupted whatever Sebastian was going to do to Clary.

" We are in the school, Verlac, don't pretend that you are seeing me in jail." Sebastian's frown turned into an angry face at the mention of jail.

See, even though no one had openly spoke about it, everyone knew that Sebastian had raped a 12 year old when he was 16. The girl was found crying next to a dumpster, near school. She was too traumatized to speak, but from the broken pieces she had told to the school consul, it was clear as day that it was Sebastian. But the police hadn't done anything about it, simply because the mayor was Sebastian's father. School had also forbid to talk about the incident, and Sebastian hadn't even got expelled out of the school, and no doubt, because of Jia Penhallow, Aline's mother, who also was incidentally was Sebastian's aunt. So basically, Sebastian's crime had stayed unpunished, because of his strong connections. The victim's family, had been tired of all accusations, and had left the country. Even thinking of this, Clary's blood boiled.

" Herondale, leave in peace, I don't have patience to deal with you right now." Sebastian slightly turned his head to the side, but it wasn't enough for Clary to break free.

Jace's gaze slipped away from Sebastian to Clary, and he came closer.

"And may I ask why you have Clary caged, seemingly without her consent?"

Clary.

He hadn't said Shrimp.

He had said her name.

But it was probably just to annoy Sebastian, they were enemies; or probably Jace's blood also boiled at the thought of this monster staying unpunished for destroying an innocent girl's life; that girl could have been Jace's sister.

"I believe that is none of your concern, Herondale. Don't put your nose in places it doesn't belong."

" Oh, well I for a fact, think putting my nose in your business is far better then you, putting your-" Jace paused shaking his head in a way that made it obvious what he meant, "- in a innocent 12 year old." Jace looked angry, but grinned nonetheless to annoy Sebastian even more. The thing Jace said actually made Clary grin despite herself; it was good to know that at least he was on the same page as she was on this topic.

Sebastian looked terrifying. His already scary black eyes seemed more black then ever, if that was possible.

" Herondale," – Now Sebastian was growling- " I recommend you go before something happens; we wouldn't want that 3 day expelled record in your college application, now would we?" Sebastian looked like an ox, ready to fight.

"I am not going anywhere unless you let go of Clary." Jace said leaning against the lockers.

Jace's statement seemed to surprise Sebastian as much as it surprised Clary; he was helping her. But it was probably another attempt to make Sebastian more angry, which seemed to work; Sebastian's before confused face now had left, giving its place to annoyed one.

"And why would I do that?"

"Because you don't want a fight to break out, either." Jace said it to calmly, but it surprised Clary that he would fight with Sebastian, for her.

No, she was just reading into things too much.

" You, Jace Herondale, fight for Clary? Come one, why would you do that?" Sebastian asked, a bit caught off guard. "Come on dude, it is not that difficult to see, he is doing it to annoy you!" Clary wanted to yell at Sebastian, but she kept her mouth shut.

"Yeah, why is that such a surprise to you?" Jace said, still not breaking eye contact with Sebastian.

" I mean, everyone sees you bullying her, why the sudden act of kindness?"

"Because-" This question also caught Jace off guard, or it was seen, he was now looking at Clary, as if wanting her to help. But Clary didn't do anything, she didn't know what to do. " Because… Beca- Because we are dating."

Both Clary and Sebastian looked at Jace as if he had just announced he was a lunatic. Suddenly Clary understood that Jace was doing was a game; or whatever it was he seemed to be playing with Sebastian every time they saw each other.

Clary inwardly rolled her eyes at Jace's excuse; it would be a lie a lot of people would say firstly in this situation.

"You? Dating? Clary?" Sebastian asked every single word as a question, then turned her head towards Clary " Weren't you dating that guy… Eric?"

"Simon" Clary automatically said. She inwardly cringed; she probably was suppose to deny it. From the looks of it Jace was not impressed either.

" They broke up" Sebastian still looked confused.

" He cheated on her with Isabelle." Jace added swiftly. The last comment made Clary's eyes wide, " No. No. This can't be happening. He is not suppose to know." But Jace didn't looked fazed by the information; he actually looked slightly amused, and a bit happy- suspiciously happy.

" You are lying." Sebastian frowned.

"Why would I lie to you?" Jace said, also slightly uncomfortable that Sebastian hadn't been convinced yet.

"Prove it." Sebastian crossed his arms over his chest; which made Clary breath a sight of relieve; she was no longer caged. But then she turned her head towards Jace; who was looking between Clary and Sebastian. And then he shrugged.

And then he leaned forward.

And then he kissed Clary.

A/N So… I wanted Jace and Clary to finally kiss, and it was difficult to win over the urge to write it in earlier chapters, but it would be too early, and I think it is already time. I am actually a bit sad that their first kiss was not under romantic circumstances, but this kiss is just the beginning. (wink, if you know what I mean, wink) Also I am torn between the urge to write a chapter from Jace's POV, but also the thought that Jace's mysterious feelings towards Clary would come clear scares me. So what do you think? Should there be a Jace' POV chapter? Or which character's POV's do you think would add some spice to the story? And by the way, I hope you now understand why Clary needed a knight in shining armor against Sebastian, he is a monster, who had raped someone. There also more darker things about him , which you will discover at the story develops. By the way, I know the story is short, but I am planing on making a chapter as soon as possible, becuase no one loves a cliffhanger that hasn't been uptdated for a long time. Ba-bye!
